Hello, not sure if there's a similar thread already but just thought I'd create somewhere for nayone else expecting in April 2012?

I actually conceived about 3wks ago but I think this counts as week 5? Just staring to get symptoms - headaches, little stirrings of nausea, getting tired and grumpier than usual lol.

A little bit concerned because I have a LOT of work on from now until October and maybe beyond - and I think I'm just going to want to sleep and puke through it all - hell! :( d'oh.

I am so sorry meltedmoments - it's so sad, especially after you were trying for so long. I'm glad you've got lots of support from DH and family. Be gentle with yourself and make sure you take some time off work. xx

Cutelittlecatlover · 04/09/2011 08:22

I'm so sorry Meltedmoments Sad

SurprisEs · 04/09/2011 09:58

meltedmoments Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Look after yourself and remain hopeful. I know a women that after 8 years went on to have quads. You never know what the future holds! :)

Starting work at twelve but I'm feeling like a lazy cow. Have been feeling much better with the sickness. Night time and 3 or 4 times a day of nausea more or less.

I'm still confused at my huge stomach, I read the post about weight gain due to slow digestive track, but THIS much?

LaTristesse · 04/09/2011 10:48

I've put on half a stone already and I'm only 10 weeks!

Good news is I'm off salad cream now, that seems to have passed... Thankfully.

Empusa · 04/09/2011 11:01

I lost a stone due to morning sickness. But don't get jealous, I'm still massively overweight!

Snowy27 · 04/09/2011 11:06

MeltedMoments so sorry, look after yourself.
Empusa I'm surprised- have barely eaten but still the same-ish weight although very swollen around the tummy! Digestive tract obviously working very well at the moment squeezing out every possible nutrient from my sausage sandwich!

Empusa · 04/09/2011 11:10

Snowy The morning sickness was so bad I didn't eat for a week, and have barely eaten since. It was pretty horrific! Doctor almost put me on a drip. Can think of better ways to lose weight! Shock

Snowy27 · 04/09/2011 11:23

Empusa- Yikes! Nope definitely better ways! That sounds awful, at least I can keep fluids down pretty well- I usually have a massive appetite, I can eat for England but at the moment I can't be bothered- isn't it weird how your body changes in pregnancy to look after the baby! Very clever!

Empusa · 04/09/2011 11:26

Snowy I'm not sure I'm crediting my body with cleverness just yet! At least I can eat and drink some stuff now, which is a massive relief! Even had chocolate for the first time in weeks Grin

Snowy27 · 04/09/2011 11:30

Empusa yeayh for chocolate- contains lots of iron apparently! It's pretty clever that you can grow a whole new person inside you (if a bit weird!)

spannermary · 04/09/2011 16:49

Hello!!! Just thought I'd pop in and join this thread. Don't have an official due date yet, but we think it'll be around 10/15 April. I had a scan last Wednesday & they tell me I'm 8 weeks! Terrified of mc - I'm 34 & this is my first pregnancy. A little bit of blood in the womb...should I be worried?

mumofwilliam · 04/09/2011 20:38

so sorry for all those with losses - am feeling for you all.

But also feeling sorry for myself today! Pathetic and nauseous... and shouted lots at DS today as he kept wanted to climb on me and made me feel worse ... then cried.
Oh can't wait for next trimester to start and hopefully feel a bit more 'normal'
hope everyone else ok

whenskiesaregrey · 04/09/2011 20:41

So sorry to hear your news meltedmoments. I hope you have a successful pregnancy very soon. You must be so upset, I hope you are able to move on quickly, and things work out for you in the near future. Don't give up xx

MeconiumHappens · 04/09/2011 21:08

So sorry for those who's pregnancies are not moving on, its a truly awful thing and my heart goes out to you. Its such a worry. Please be very kind to yourselves, take plenty of time out.

Im 6weeks and 3 days today. No symptoms except sore boobs. Feeling quite energetic if anything, done lots of cleaning. Have a private early scan booked for 8 weeks. Finger crossed all will be well, am trying not to worry excessively about mc but its so difficult.

digitalgirl · 04/09/2011 21:38

meconiumhappens snap! I have loads of energy too (danced for hours at a wedding last night) and not many symptoms, bar slightly heavier boobs. Am also getting an 8 week scan this Weds. Hope it's good news for both of us.

newmummyvicky · 04/09/2011 21:48

hi mums,

I had my friends wedding last wk end and managed to pull it off! hehe, mainly thanks to my husband running up the buy the drinks, for me only soft ones.
it was quite funny to kept asking for a vodka and coke or orange and only getting plain drinks. But i really dont think anyone notice!!!!
Did miss dinking a little bit but when i thought about my lovely baby its all worth while!
thanks to
themightskin and spout for the advice!

To splurs i been having really weird dream too, about being pregnant and one i was bleeding the other night! very strange cos i havent had any of that thankfully. my friend said its just us worrying!!!!!

I now have a date for my 12 wk scan on the 16th of sept, cant wait. Then we plan to tell everyone and my work as long as all is ok!

speak to u soon x x

newmummyvicky · 04/09/2011 21:54

moojie · 05/09/2011 09:02

Hi ladies, I have been lurking on here for far too long but finally decided to take the plunge and post today! I am now 9+2 ( due date 7th april) and had an early scan last week and all was well. I had a missed miscarriage with my first pregnancy (didn't find out until first scan :( ) Then I went on to have my son very quickly afterwards who is now a troublesome two year old!

With the first pregnancy I was horrendously sick right up until I had the ERPC and with my son my sickness didn't kick in until 13 weeks! This time around the sickness was bad to begin with but mostly eased off now. To all those ladies who symptoms come and go please don't worry! I have totally given up on relying on symptoms as it just stresses me out!

Just did a naughty thing and had a listen with my Doppler and I heard the heartbeat. It really was too early to listen but promised myself I wouldn't worry if I didn't but there it was! I would say though that I am in the medical field so I know what to listen for.

So sorry to hear about the ladies for who things have not gone so well. Good luck with the future.

thepuddingchef · 05/09/2011 10:31

Hi all. Haven't been on for a while and I am so sorry to hear the sad news from some. Just makes me realise how precious and how fragile life is.
I am feeling a tad sick....only been actually sick once though. Finally got to the doctors this morning, he seemed more excited than me lol.
Am totally fed up of the clothes problem, everything just doesn't fit :( My lovely dp took me shopping and I had to buy some maternity jeans as mine were cutting my blood circulation off. Being a third pregnancy I am assuming my stomach muscles have given in at the first sign of pressure??? re: buying baby stuff I just daren't lol! My parents have taken the news quite badly, so perhaps I'm just not in the mood?
Hope everyone is doing ok! I'll try to post more and keep up with the thread :)

Mackrelmint · 05/09/2011 11:08

so sorry for your loss meltedmoments - such sad news.

Mackrelmint · 05/09/2011 11:15

mumofwilliam - I'm with you on waiting for the next trimester. still seems ages off but am hoping that I'll pop into a cheerier and less-nauseous phase then!

Not doing too badly though all considered. about 7 weeks I think now. Nausea most days, but not as bad as last time, and I'm biting dp's head off over ridiculously minor things, but otherwise ok.

for anyone who hasn't already discovered them - the secret I didn't know for maternity dressing last time round is maternity tights! I didn't even know they existed, but such a relief when you're all bloated-feeling not to have waistband cutting into you anymore. Am still in my normal dresses (which are all pretty stretchy anyway) but all the maternity tights have come out of hiding...

Emailed off a self-referral form for hospital last week (not bothering with GPs) - so hopefully someone will get back to me with a 1st appointment or scan soon. Might feel a bit more real then...

Thaleia · 05/09/2011 11:32

Hello @ all!

New to Mumsnet & new to being pregnant, too :-). I'm now 6 weeks in and it hasn't really "hit home" yet. Although we were planning to fall pregnant, I just didn't expect it to happen this year.

Feeling quite queasy and have a pulling sensation in my lower stomach but so far so good.

Lovely to meet you all!!

JellytotZ · 05/09/2011 13:18

...just popping by during a lunchbreak at work.

so sorry to read your news meltedmoments. i cant even begin to imagine how you are feeling. thinking of you.

im 8 weeks today. and suddenly from nowhere i feel totally nauseous. the smell of the fridge when i open it is horrendous!!!! have not actually been sick, but the feeling is awful. got to get through today!!!! :( I only had MS with my DD in the evenings so im hoping this is a hormone surge and will soon promptly leave me alone.....?!?
