Hello, not sure if there's a similar thread already but just thought I'd create somewhere for nayone else expecting in April 2012?

I actually conceived about 3wks ago but I think this counts as week 5? Just staring to get symptoms - headaches, little stirrings of nausea, getting tired and grumpier than usual lol.

A little bit concerned because I have a LOT of work on from now until October and maybe beyond - and I think I'm just going to want to sleep and puke through it all - hell! :( d'oh.

I have had some relief from the hideous constipation at last today. I actually think it is what was causing the bladder issues too although not sure that is medically possible. I ate large amounts of pasta to bulk out the system. I've hardly had any nausea at all and the boobs aren't hurting much either. TMI but what is going on with everyone else's norks at the moment?

Thumbelina79 · 02/09/2011 18:33

Taking of dreams, I had a really strange dream which stopped me drinking (lots as I was on honeymoon) and take the test. I remember I was dreaming and this Peter Pan like figure just popped up, clicked his fingers and I woke up with a big start and gasp. That's how I knew I was pregnant and that I had to stop drinking. 2 days later took the test.

Pink rooms.... is your subconcious nattering !?

Bearcrumble · 02/09/2011 18:57

Well that's what I'm thinking!

I really like your dream, how thoughtful of your subconscious to let you know. Very romantic to have a honeymoon baby too.

Another symptom I have that I didn't realise was pregnancy related is a blocked nose. Apparently it's because of the extra oestrogen. It's called pregnancy rhinitis.

AprilAl · 02/09/2011 19:59

I'm having really weird dreams too, so vivid and dramatic that I often wake up feeling exhausted. I'm really enjoying the nice ones, but the nightmares I can do without. Other than that I think I'm getting off pretty lightly really. Just tired all the time and occasionally feel mildly nauseous - nothing to write home about. Even my boobs are only slightly tender now.

Saw the MW for my booking in appointment, she was a real bundle of joy She's referring me to a consultant though after I confused her with my pre-existing neurological condition, so it looks like I might end up being consultant-led.

bearcrumble I've woken up in the middle of the night a few times over the last week or two with a really blocked nose. I assumed I just had a cold coming on, but it's never materialised. So it might be the bean causing that then? Another one of the glamourous perks of pregnancy I suppose Wink

SurprisEs · 02/09/2011 20:56

Had the blocked nose all throughout last pregnancy and i'm having the joy once again. It magically disappeared after labour last time. I was hoping I didn't have it this time as it makes me really struggle to breathe.

My husband finished work late today and so did I, so we couldn't book with the GP again. Getting worried I'm leaving it too late!

Cutelittlecatlover · 02/09/2011 21:20

Hi again, can someone please give me some advice on whats normal wrt ms and what to say to my gp on Monday? I'm feeling awful, haven't left the house for a week and retch every time I move, I really need him to give me something but I'm scared he won't!

SurprisEs · 02/09/2011 21:52

cutelittlecatlover to be honest I know nothing about medication for sickness. But one thing as worked wonders on me, a room temperature glass of 7up everytime I'm begging to feel sick.

Uglymush · 02/09/2011 22:03

Sorry cutelittlecatlover can't remember if you said, but have you tried the travel bands. I think they are great, but as I don't want to wear them at work I have had to run out of the office twice in the last 24 hours. Worth a try if you haven't already, not saying don't go to the docs but might help over the weekend. Good luck x

Cutelittlecatlover · 02/09/2011 22:14

Thanks both of you, I've been wearing the travel bands for the last 3 weeks and practically live on 7up atm! Thanks so much for your suggestions though. I remember being sick when I was pg with ds but I'm sure it wasn't this bad!

SurprisEs · 02/09/2011 22:36

I was sick morning and night with DD. Thus time I haven't been sick but I feel sick ALL day. Not sure what's worse. At least when I wad suck I knew it would be over till the evening or next morning.

Cutelittlecatlover · 03/09/2011 07:55

Last time I threw up quite often through the day but I always felt better afterwards. This time I just feel constantly sick, throw up then feel sick again! There were 2 days this week I didn't even get dressed because I just felt so ill and everytime I moved I'd heave. I don't want to waste the doctor's time or make a fuss over nothing but this can't be normal and I need to be functional to look after ds!

LaTristesse · 03/09/2011 08:22

I'd just tell him what you've told us. Sounds pretty awful to me! Good luck Cute, hope you get something to ease the nastiness...

toddlerama · 03/09/2011 08:37

Hi, can I join? I'm due to have my 3rd on 29th April. I have 2 DDs aged 4 and 2 (3 next month) I worked it out wrong and joined the May thread....

I don't have a GP at the moment so haven't 'done' anything bar a test. My to-do list involves finding a doctor's surgery next week. We just moved.

Catbag · 03/09/2011 08:39

Good Morning All! I've been lurking here for a little bit - thought I should introduce myself finally :)
From the due date calculator, I am apparently due 15th April. This will be strictly DC 5, but as I lost one of my twins to SIDS 8 years ago, I suppose it should be DC 4. I have a son of 12 and two daughters aged 8 and 3.5 respectively. This pregnancy was completely unplanned, and entirely contrary to the 5 year plan that I had constructed for myself 2 years ago, but nevertheless we are very pleased, ha ha.
I'm desperately sorry for those who have had bad news. I hope you have all the support you need to see you through this dark time :(

Empusa · 03/09/2011 15:34

So.. I may have bought the first babygro this morning Blush To be fair, it is zebra print!

I swore I was going to wait till much later, but couldn't resist Grin

Has anyone else found themselves buying stuff yet?

Snowy27 · 03/09/2011 16:27

Yep, baby things are very tempting! I've bought a little 'set' from M&S while waiting for a bra fitting. And we popped into Mothercare yesterday on the way to Pizza Hut. Mr S had a good look at various prams which he enjoyed! Then the assistant came over and said 'when's the baby due?' giving my stomach a good look- just muttered 'not for ages' and scarped! I sear it's all just bloating! Was very disappointed by Pizza hut- I ended up eating 2 bowls of sweetcorn and bacon bits from the free salad bar and then the lime off my cheesecake, Pizza just tasted wrong

Empusa · 03/09/2011 16:31

Snowy I know both those feelings!

I'm dying to start showing, so I don't get odd looks when looking at baby stuff. I would also like food to taste right again!

Snowy27 · 03/09/2011 17:16

I really want a proper bump- but also paranoid that I won't fit in my wedding dress Confused
I have to say bacon bits and sweetcorn covered in dressing were the nicest thing I think I have ever eaten. I really want some right now!

MeltedMoments · 03/09/2011 18:54

Just removing myself from the list. I had an awfully painful miscarriage this morning. I should have been 10 weeks tomorrow.
Good luck to all of you, I hope you all have a healthy and happy few months xxx

melted I'm very sorry to hear that, I hope you are being well looked after.

MeltedMoments · 03/09/2011 20:28

Thanks. My husband is being a total star. He is my rock and I'd be lost without him. We are temporarily living with my mum and dad at the moment so lots of support from them too which is lovely.
It's been an awful day, just have a scan in the morning to go through and then I hope to pick up the pieces and start ttc again soon.
We tried for 3 years for this baby. I'm just so sad.

digitalgirl · 04/09/2011 00:30

I'm so sorry meltedmoments Sad so very heartbreaking to lose it at 10 weeks after 3 years of trying. Take good care of yourself.

AprilAl · 04/09/2011 06:26
