Hello, not sure if there's a similar thread already but just thought I'd create somewhere for nayone else expecting in April 2012?

I actually conceived about 3wks ago but I think this counts as week 5? Just staring to get symptoms - headaches, little stirrings of nausea, getting tired and grumpier than usual lol.

A little bit concerned because I have a LOT of work on from now until October and maybe beyond - and I think I'm just going to want to sleep and puke through it all - hell! :( d'oh.

8 weeks today too. And have just eaten an obscene amount of food for lunch. Sweet potato soup, huge baguette stuffed with chicken, bacon and avocado and a packet of crisps. I hope there is a baby in there and it hasn't been crushed by all the food I've just shovelled in.

cheaperthantherapy · 05/09/2011 14:23

Hi all,

Just found this thread and I was hoping I could join? Was feeling quite nervous about being pregnant again and having 2 under 2 when this one is born - but I see I'm not alone in that :)

I've glanced through some previous posts and I'm terribly sorry for those who've suffered some bad news lately. Hugs to you.

I'm due April 15th I think. We have a DD 13 months.

whenskiesaregrey · 05/09/2011 14:36

Hi, just a quick on to say miscarriage was finally confirmed today. I can't say how relieved I am. I started bleeding on Thurs night, and had a blood test on Sat. However hcg went up to 1300, so I was told the sac seen on the scan may be a phantom sac and risk of ectoptic had gone back up. Went for a scan this morning and sac had gone, but they was free blood in my lower abdomen, so again they said ectopic, and I was nil by mouth ready to go in this afternoon for keyhole surgery if the hcg had gone up again. Thankfully I got the phone call thus afternoon that my hcg had gone down to 200. I gave never been so happy to hear bad news. So glad we can just move on from all of this.

Thats me signing off Grin and hopefully it will just be 100% happy news for this thread from now on. We are buying a little tree to remember our pip that never grew x

Empusa · 05/09/2011 14:37

whenskies Good luck in the future x

digitalgirl · 05/09/2011 14:43

Glad it's finally resolved itself whenskies. A tree is a lovely way to remember. Hope you're back on ante-natal soon.

kat2504 · 05/09/2011 14:51

Thank goodness for it being over and not being ectopic. I think a tree is a nice idea too. I'm really glad you've not had to undergo surgery on top of all that you have already been through. Will be looking out for your name to pop up on another antenatal thread soon - good luck

kat2504 · 05/09/2011 14:53

digi I have been craving an avocado for ages but whenever I see one in a shop they are all rock hard. I love avocados anyway so not a weird pregnancy craving. I have crushed my uterus with a whole third of a chocolate cheescake for breakfast! Please to be reassuring me that this is good source of calcium for the bean??

Thaleia · 05/09/2011 15:32

I haven't been on a forum since my wedding in 2006 ... so sorry about netiquette and all my questions answered already somewhere in here! Not even sure I should be here already, given that lots of you waited longer but I'm feeling so pregnant and on the one hand so overwhelmed. I just didn't expect it - despite trying for a baby Blush.

Guess, my lesson is that some try for up to 12 - 24 months but others are bumped up after 3 months! So much for planning.

I'm so tired! I'm hardly pregnant and can't concentrate as all my energy goes into staying awake. Will this be getting better or might be so for the next 8 weeks?

Also, when does one normally see the GP to spread the news?

aprilfoolsbaby · 05/09/2011 15:44

So sorry to hear all the sad news. It's truly awful and my heart goes out to all those who've faced bad news.

It feels really crass to talk about good news but I've got a story that might make you smile.....

Went for a scan today thinking I was 10 weeks, the scanning lady asked if I minded a student being present and I said of course not. I got on the bed and had that awful pause where she checks and doesn't let you see the screen. Everything was fine. Scanning lady said, 'Oh my haven't you a full bladder' There's me thinking I'd done really well drinking loads of water before we went. Then she said 'do you mind if I take a photo of your bladder for the student to keep as a reference?' Erm nervous laugh 'No of course not'

Anyway it seems you don't need a full bladder and my whole scan picture is a bladder squashing a tiny bean in a womb!!!! She said next time don't drink as much.

DH was laughing his head off and when she turned the lights back on I could feel my cheeks burning.

It seems my due date is 6th April instead of 1st April. Got another scan in a couple of weeks.

LaTristesse · 05/09/2011 17:09

I did the same with DS aprilfoolsbaby, they told me to go pee some out before they could get a decent look!Blush

So sorry to read your post when skies..., but am glad you avoided any extra surgical nastiness... All the best of luck for another go when you feel up to it... Hugs.

I'm 10 weeks today and debate whether I should polish off the remains of DH's Birthday cake while he's at work... I'm sure he wouldn't want me going hungry eh?!

kat2504 · 05/09/2011 17:20

How are you supposed to pee "some" out?! When I go for a pee it's pretty much "all or nothing". I can't imagine doing a bit and having to hold on to the rest for the scan!
As for the cake, go ahead. Pass it off as "listening to what your body wants" and enjoy :)

digitalgirl · 05/09/2011 17:30

Kat you have to buy the expensive 'ripe and ready' avocados in packets. Those are usually ready to eat.

I've not had an external scan since my pg with ds. It's internal all the way till 12 weeks I think so no need to fill up my bladder. I'm an all or nothing person too.

LaTristesse · 05/09/2011 17:34

To be fair, that was back in the day when I still had some pelvic floor muscles! Cake was lush, hope he doesn't miss it!

Uglymush · 05/09/2011 17:51

newmummyvicky I have my scan on the 16th September too. So excited. Although I have booked the day off work, as if all is ok I know I will want to tell everyone, and then I will be in serious trouble that we haven't told people in the right order!!!

Empusa · 05/09/2011 19:20

aprilfools They've moved me from the 1st to the 6th as well.

Got my 12 week scan (even though we now know it'll be 11 weeks) next Tuesday Grin Can't wait to see how much the baby has grown since the early scan!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 05/09/2011 20:29

Hello ladies
I've been away for the weekend, great fun feeling like shit while DH, sis and BIL all get nice and drunk! Grin

So sorry for the bad news while I've been away :(

Am very relieved that DS has decided to drop a few feeds in the last few days (11m old today :)) so hopefully DH will finally be able to start settling him in the night now too.... Wink

Makeminealarge · 05/09/2011 20:47

hey all, just peeking in! 8 weeks and im feeling rougher than a badgers back side recently. Barely able to eat with the nausea and constant back ache. Currently got a 13mnth old girl starting her little temper tantrums this week.fun times.

Quite suprised how different this pregnancy has been so far compared to my first! Any ladies also found this?

Also cant get my first midwife appointment until im 11 weeks!! slightly disappointed there! Just wondering if anyone knew if this would mean a delay in scan also? x

Thumbelina79 · 05/09/2011 21:21

I went to teh supermarket today and was liberated!
I've been on a diet FOREVER all I buy is fat free fun free.
Tonight I bought REAL food. Food that I used to eat. I will be the size of a house. For tea we had sausage, waffles(!) and spaghetti hoops follwed by rice pudding. We were so excited!!!

Back at work today and it helpped my nausea.

Got a letter from the midwife to : "call in 7 days of reciept of this letter, between 9am and 12pm" - hmmm

7 weeks tomorrow

SurprisEs · 06/09/2011 14:15

makeminealarge last pregnancy I had my 1st midwife appointment at 11weeks and the scan at 13weeks.

I've been sacked yesterday. My manager said people are complaining I've been too slow and am bringing everyone down. He said I'd be better off on benefits and he'd have a spot for me in about a year's time. Basically I've been sacked for being pregnant. Fuming. "Christmas is coming and I need a good team, you are only going to get more tired I assume" where some of his ignorant words.
My last day is Friday. Had to take my daughter out of nursery and am feeling like a disposable sack of shit.

Start work at 3pm today. Got to leave soon.
A good evening to you all and a huge hug to whenskies

kat2504 · 06/09/2011 14:21

What?! You don't have to accept that, it is illegal discrimination especially as he has said quite clearly that he will be happy to employ you when you are no longer pregnant. If pregnancy is making you tired, your employers have a duty of care to make reasonable adjustments to your working environment. If he is sacking you because of poor work, he can't do it just like that, he has to follow the verbal warning, written warning to improve system. This is totally not on and you should seek legal advice for unfair dismissal.

Thaleia · 06/09/2011 14:24

Thumbelina79 - I know how you feel re the real food. I wanted to lose some weight before I get pregnant & now I feel, when I get queasy and tired that salt&vinegar crisps are simply the best Blush

Empusa · 06/09/2011 14:24

He cannot sack you. He hasn't followed procedure, as kat2504 said, it's got to be vebal & written warnings first.

That's unfair dismissal.

He also has to give you enough notice, I assume you are full time and past a probationary period in which case it should be a month. Not a week.

spannermary · 06/09/2011 14:25

makeminealarge that's terrible! Is it even legal? I hope it all works out for the best...

I had my first midwife appt at home today. She seemed nice & says I'm straightforward. Wow - who'd have thought it?!

Randomly burst into tears as soon as she'd left, and had to go and have a lie down - these hormones are crazy. Not going into school this afternoon. It's my planning session, so I'm doing it at home. On the sofa under a duvet!

How's everyone else feeling?

spannermary · 06/09/2011 14:27

Oops - of course I meant surprisEs ; not makeminealarge.

kat2504 · 06/09/2011 14:32
