Hello, not sure if there's a similar thread already but just thought I'd create somewhere for nayone else expecting in April 2012?

I actually conceived about 3wks ago but I think this counts as week 5? Just staring to get symptoms - headaches, little stirrings of nausea, getting tired and grumpier than usual lol.

A little bit concerned because I have a LOT of work on from now until October and maybe beyond - and I think I'm just going to want to sleep and puke through it all - hell! :( d'oh.

Been getting quite bad abdomen pain, so called nhs direct. They've told me to see my gp tomorrow who will possibly suggest an early scan. So going to attempt to sleep now, will update you tomorrow once I've seen the gp. Hope the pain eases up enough that I can sleep :(

Bearcrumble · 31/08/2011 07:18

Knitty and Empusa - thinking of you both and hoping for the best.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability - Ewww, I am retching in sympathy!

Zwitterion · 31/08/2011 07:36

Hello everyone.

Whenskies, Knitty and Empusa, thinking of you all.

kat2504 · 31/08/2011 08:02

Knitty good luck at the EPU. Half of women who have bleeding do not go on to miscarry so you are still in with a chance.

Empusa you may be quicker to bypass the gp and phone the EPU at your local hospital. Many of them accept self-referrals, although not all. What sort of pain are you having? I am having dire abdominal pain but I am pretty sure it is constipation Blush which is very common at this stage in pregnancy.

I'm also going to be trying to blag an early scan this week. I am a complete bag of nerves. I also don't think I have enough "symptoms" apart from tiredness.

mammyemcbe · 31/08/2011 08:15

Hi can I join too Smile Ive just found out I'm expecting dc6 with a edd of 14th April. I'm not telling anyone in RL til 12 weeks so I'm looking for somewhere I can mention it .

LaTristesse · 31/08/2011 08:19

Welcome mammy, mention away, good to have you with us!

JemJar · 31/08/2011 09:32

Hi all,

I am due 11/04/2012 with my first baby. Had a private scan on sunday at 8 weeks and baby looks bang on dates with a good heartbeat.

I feel sick and retch all day long but am absolutely delighted to be pregnant after years of treatment for endometriosis.

Looking forward to chatting with you over the next 7 exciting months!

Jem :-)

whenskiesaregrey · 31/08/2011 09:34

Knitty and Empusa. Hope you get your scans today and all goes well x

whenskiesaregrey · 31/08/2011 10:11

Thank you to all those offering advice and support, it is hugely appreciated. Another day of limbo before we find out tomorrow.

Kat, thank you for sharing you experience. I totally understand about the erpc, I would want it to be over, but i an just worried about that risk. If I was to get pregnant again, I would be so worried all the time. I already have a big of prolapse from DS's labour, so I know I'm already a bit weaker, and I don't know if i can add that risk. But then I think I couldn't bear anymore waiting around. And I'm meant to start a new job in Monday in a school, who don't even know I'm pregnant (it is only a 6 month thing). Suppose will just have to see what the outcome is tomorrow.

whenskiesaregrey · 31/08/2011 10:13

A bit of prolapse, not a big prolapse, damn autocorrect again

kat2504 · 31/08/2011 10:19

Oh what awful timing with the new job. I guess you'll have to say something because whatever option you take, you'll need a bit of time off. Perhaps the medical management might be the way forward for you. Gets it over with but no surgery. It's pretty horrible but I don't imagine miscarrying naturally is much of a picnic either. I had it done end of April. First tablet on a Wednesday, back in hospital Friday morning, home just after lunchtime. If I had a job I reckon I'd have needed a couple of days off the following week too, depends on how it goes though.

whenskiesaregrey · 31/08/2011 11:17

When you went back in for the 2nd tablet, were you admitted? Did you go in a ward? Also, I hope you don't mind me asking, but what is the blood loss like? Is it like a post natal bleed?

Empusa · 31/08/2011 11:22

GP is sending me to hospital for an emergency scan, she's worried it's ectopic.

whenskiesaregrey · 31/08/2011 11:36

I hope its not Empusa. Hopefully the GP just wants to make sure. Is the pain on one side? Hopefully you'll get to see your little baby.

Empusa · 31/08/2011 11:37

It's pretty even, so that's a good sign. Trying to think of it as us meeting baby early, rather than anything else.

kat2504 · 31/08/2011 11:58

I was admitted as a day patient onto the gynae ward as the EPU was closed to to the bloody royal wedding. I was put into an individual room which was necessary due to the nature of the process. But I went home at 2 in the afternoon and they would have been happy to let me go an hour earlier but I wasn't ready yet and was waiting on a prescription for cocodamols.
I've never had a baby so I don't know about post natal bleeding. The blood loss with my medical mc at 8 weeks was heavy for about an hour and a half to two hours. By the time I went home it was twice as heavy as a bad period day. The next day and the day after it was like a bad period day, and it tapered off to like a normal period after that.

Empusa I'm sure it's just a precaution. Good luck at the hospital have my fingers crossed for a happy outcome for you.

whenskiesaregrey · 31/08/2011 12:34

Thank you kat, that's really helpful. I can't believe they closed the EPU because of the wedding!

What time is your scan Empusa? Don't forget, lots of water beforehand :)

Empusa · 31/08/2011 12:35

1:30, leaving in about 15 minutes. Been drinking water since I got back from the doctors.

whenskiesaregrey · 31/08/2011 12:38

Good luck, hope its positive for you.

Mackrelmint · 31/08/2011 13:22

I know it's pretty crowded in here but hoping to squeeze in too. I have one DD, 13mo, and am due about April 21 with DC2 (will add myself to stats). Feeling miserable with headache, nausea and general grumpiness.

Haven't read the whole way through the thread but so sorry to come to the scares and worries of Whenskies, Knitty and Empusa. Really hoping for the best for all of you. x

knittymum23 · 31/08/2011 14:54

Empusa - good luck, am thinking of you - I hope you get good news.

Thanks everyone for the messages - unfortunately it's not good news. I got a scan this morning and no heartbeat was detected (I could tell straight away, and the sonographer confirmed it), so I've/we've decided the best course of action is to do the ERPC - which I've got booked in for tomorrow (bed spaces permitting).

We're sad, but I keep being practical about it - I just want to end this chapter and progress to the next. I'll stick around here for a little bit, but I need to be removed from our stats page :(

Thanks ladies xxx

Empusa · 31/08/2011 14:56

Good news! Baby is all good, and even waved at us! And my ovaries/fallopian tubes look fine. So relieved!!

knittymum23 · 31/08/2011 15:06

Empusa - fantastic news - I'm so pleased! xxx

kat2504 · 31/08/2011 15:48

So sorry knitty it's really horrible isn't it. Hope your erpc goes as well as these things can and you are feeling better soon. When you get home look after yourself and be kind to yourself. Sofa and chocolate is usually required for a while.

empusa that's great! Now you can hopefully relax a bit.

digitalgirl · 31/08/2011 16:05

knittymum so very sorry to hear that Sad. Good luck with the ERPC - take a thick book, trashy magazines (preferably none with any preggo celebs), and flip flops in case you need to pop to the loo after they've made you take your shoes off. And take as much time off afterwards as you can spare. I was advised 2 weeks and it did me the world of good.

empusa glad to hear all is well with you Smile

Such a mixed day today.
