Hello, not sure if there's a similar thread already but just thought I'd create somewhere for nayone else expecting in April 2012?

I actually conceived about 3wks ago but I think this counts as week 5? Just staring to get symptoms - headaches, little stirrings of nausea, getting tired and grumpier than usual lol.

A little bit concerned because I have a LOT of work on from now until October and maybe beyond - and I think I'm just going to want to sleep and puke through it all - hell! :( d'oh.

I think morning sickness may be starting- gagged on my toothbrush and now feeling very sick Envy -

Also crying at 'spendaholics' on the TV- I assume this is my hormones?! (It wasn't sad in any way, and I don't usually cry at random things!!)

CosmicMouse · 23/08/2011 12:22

I feel rubbish today too Snowy27 [cries pitifully] I've been yawning non-stop all morning, and feeling sick. Took DD to the library songtime thingy this morning which at least kept my mind off it for a bit. But now back home and all I can think about is crawling in to bed once DD goes for a nap!

Just dug out my trusty slow-cooker, as I think that's my only hope of getting some dinner sorted for tonight!

Supposed to be working, but the thought of being on my feet serving people for 5hrs is enough to bring tears to my eyes :(

I feel like such a woos! I'm only 4+1!!!

I'm trying to see it as a good thing that I'm feeling crappy now, as that means this pregnancy is different to DD's when I started feeling crap at 6-7 weeks and carried on til about 24! I'm hoping the fact it's started really early means that it'll be over sooner?! Here's hoping!

spout · 23/08/2011 12:42

aw aprilAl how lovely :)

my symptoms are coming and going randomly. Knackered today. Luckily I went to a playgroup this morning where someone asked if I thought it was twins as I'm so big already Shock

I've been onto my GP already as my SPD has come on early this time. I want to get in the system for some decent physio so I might avoid crutches and hardcore painkillers this time. Apparently it's only the MW who can refer me and I can't see her before the second week of Sep. Hum.

Newmummyvicky RE the not drinking excuse, I told people last time that I had a roaring great bladder infection which usually shut them up Grin

Snowy27 · 23/08/2011 12:51

I go back to work in two weeks (school holidays!) and dreading the first half term- I'm always exhausted anyway (I work in Reception and it takes so long to settle the children in!) And then I'm getting married in October- hoping I'll feel ok!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 23/08/2011 13:16

Ahh, csomic You've reminded me to get my slowcooker from the boxroom where I hid it when I had a tidy up! Grin

Mmm, I've just found prawn crackers in the cupboard to have with my cheese and onion omelette :)

Snowy I was 5m with DS when I got married, my morning sickness stopped that day!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 23/08/2011 13:19

I have some other news too. Not my news, but its upsetting me so felt I should share. Sorry if it upsets anyone else :(

One of my best friends found out she is preg a few days after me, but is about a week further along. She made the appt for her abortion today :( I'm VERY pro-choice, it just upsets me that my prawn is the same size as hers, plus I'm worried that seeing my prawn grow up will upset her :(
If she wanted an abortion it'd be easier, but she feels shit too :(

splurs · 23/08/2011 13:38

Hello again everyone and all the newbies!

Have been a bit awol for self-preservation as things weren't going so well (after all the other bits, I started to have a bit of spotting as well). Decided to have a private scan yesterday, as it was only £90 and thought the peace of mind was worth not having to wait another 6 weeks for one. Pleased to say that the chimp appears to be doing well and we could see its heart beating away strongly. Grin

Hope that's a bit reassuring to the few others I've seen who've also had symptoms disappear. I was told that on the basis of all my dates and the size of the chimp my due date is a few days earlier than I thought so I've changed the list.

Now need to stop the wierd dreams - anyone else having them? Last night I was in this giant department store with a huge maternity wear section trying to find a dress (I'm stressing about what to wear to a family wedding next Friday as I can't fit into my two dresses which would be appropriate!) and I kept bumping into colleagues and family and had to keep hiding behind clothes rails! Not being able to tell anyone yet (DH very strict!) is obviously making my mind work overtime! Confused

Beyond crikey, what a sad situation. The only advice I have is not to let it become an unspoken issue between you. One of my friends had a mc when I was pregnant with DS and I wish I'd encouraged her to talk about her loss a bit more but I didn't much, for fear of upsetting her. Turns out she was desperate to talk to me about it but didn't want to upset me :(

MrsY · 23/08/2011 14:50

Hi all, is it really bad how much I am bugged by the fact that the list has lost it's formatting again?!!!!

How lovely to see the bean April, I remember seeing my daughter when I was 5 weeks, can't believe how long ago that was now!

Re: the not drinking, I was just at a wedding on Saturday and no-one noticed! I drank tonic water most of the evening and people probably assumed there was a slosh of gin in it! I think my FIL either forgets I'm pregnant or forgets I can't drink, so he kept on offerning me a drink or pouring me a glass of wine, which I either gave to my husband, or left on the side - I was fairly sure that someone would drink it!

Sorry to hear your friend's news, beyond, such a difficult decision. One of our friends found out at her 12 week scan that she had lost the baby, she was just a week behind my my sister. I sent her a text and then a fb message saying that she knew where I was, just so she wouldn't feel alone, but I wasn't pressing the issue iykwim.

I've managed to stay away from the glace cherries, but went to a friends for her birthday this morning and had three cream teas! Luckily she's a midwife and I had asked her if she would be at the birth so she already knew. Then M jumped on my tummy and I felt like I was about to see the scones again! Brushing teeth is definately the worst for me, or taking a top on or off over my head. Bleugh!

LaTristesse · 23/08/2011 15:00

What's up with the list MrsY?

(feels guilty for cutting and pasting...)

I'm usually pretty pedantic, but I'm guessing I missed something...

VintageNancy · 23/08/2011 15:59

Afternoon, a combination of jet-lag, no sleep between 2 and 5am and sickness has kept me in bed most of the day. I've managed to eat a bowl of porridge (I have no idea how I did that), a melon and some digestives and cheese (which I was craving, I didn't even know we had digestives in the cupboard, I must have bought them to make a cheesecake and forgotten).

So I called in sick today, I'm sure my boss thinks I'm being a right wuss on the jet-lag front so I think I will tell her I'm pregnant next time I speak to her.

I might use the bladder infection excuse when I go on a girlie weekend in a few weeks time, nice one spout. I'm actually desperate to tell them but my DH doesn't want to yet so I'll use the excuse and if they guess I won't be devastated!

So pleased you saw your chimp splurs :)

Really sad beyond, like the others said, just let her know you're there.

Hello Thought I'd come and say hi as I am slowly coming to terms with my 3rd pregnancy. Not exactly planned at this time, but happy bout it. I've added myself to the ever growing list!
:)

MrsY · 23/08/2011 17:19

Not a massive thing, LaTristesse, but when I added someone to the list I went through and standardised all the commas and so on, and I think someone must have copied a previous version. I'm so anal about things lining up and being 'the same'!

Welcome, thepuddingchef, were you planning a longer age difference, or no more at all!

Sorry to hear the MS is with you Nancy, I'm the same, and now have a huge yen for digestives and cheese! am off to a friends for dinner, I'm sure she'll have some!

VintageNancy · 23/08/2011 17:24

MrsY - glad to share my digestives and cheese obsession, just had some more! :)

Snowy27 · 23/08/2011 17:34

I think Mr S is very pleased, he's not much of a one with words, but apparently I need to have peas for tea because 'I read that you need iron, and peas have iron, oh and you need more calcium, so I'll buy some full fat milk!'
Bless!
I just want fish cake and ketchup (random) and made a big list of nice dry snack foods- after eating I feel less Envy

I've always loved digestives and really sharp cheese- mmm, best with a bit of butter underneath too! :)

aprilfoolsbaby · 23/08/2011 20:13

There's been loads of action here. I've stayed away for a bit as my symptons disappeared for a bit and I just felt like hiding. I'm out again now though and had my booking in appointment yesterday. Scan on 5th September so not long to wait. Can we dare to be excited?

Two days off now ...................... bliss

mumofwilliam · 23/08/2011 20:14

pizza and salad cream ... mmmmm... (so random)

ok so at 8 weeks already can't fit into my work trousers - think wearing maternity trousers to work may be a give away... ah well i'm sure they will be glad i started work with them in July (feel so guilty will only be there about 7 months!) but really don't want to tell them yet!

might have to go find chocolate now.. could this be the reason my trousers don't fit!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 23/08/2011 20:35

mumofwilliam I've been wearing mat jeans all week Grin Just very bloated though

VintageNancy · 23/08/2011 20:38

I'm watching the Great British Bake Off and I really fancy Quiche now - sadly I don't have one of those hiding somewhere in the house.

I'm so bloated at 7 weeks mumofwilliam I'm convinced people will guess soon.

Hi april - not long to wait for your scan :)

Bless him snowy - my DH is away so no such attention for me at the moment!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 23/08/2011 20:43

(I bought a reduced quiche in the spar earlier for 49p Wink)

thepuddingchef · 23/08/2011 21:38

mrsY Have always wanted three, but I am currently a Student Nurse just finished my first year, recently separated and only been with new partner 4 months!
I'm always up for a challenge :)

essexmumma · 23/08/2011 23:30

This thread really makes me feel betterGrin I have been away like others due to some light spotting and was scared it meant the worst. It stopped very quickly but have an early scan in a couple of days- am now getting scared/excited etc. Dreading the full bladder thing as I hate that feeling but will be worth it to know everything is ok.

Empusa · 24/08/2011 02:25

I think I'm in here with you lot, though erratic periods etc mean I've no idea till the dating scan. Whenever that happens!

Empusa · 24/08/2011 02:30

Oh should say, according to the due date calculator on here (and if my last period was when I think) then I'm due April 7th.

Zwitterion · 24/08/2011 07:04

Hello Empusa and congratulations!

Well I've had a funny couple of days - Monday night and Tuesday morning I kept bursting into tears and feeling really panicky.

By the afternoon I felt much better and then really happy in the evening. Pregnancy makes my emotions all over the place, the mood swings are so dramatic. Poor DH, he's being lovely though.
