Hello! I've just found out that I'm pregnant and due on the 23rd March! I'm 29 and live in London with my husband, dog and cat. So far at 4 weeks things are going very smoothly! I'm very excited about going to the doctor (even if they don't care) as feel it will make things more real!
If you're expecting in March too please join the thread and share a bit about yourself and how your pregnancy is going!

Hey Pekka how did the scan go?

DorcasGailen · 26/10/2011 15:34

Hope everyone is well! Very exciting with all the scans and hitting the half way mark! I got my first tummy rub from a stranger the other day, didnt mind too much as she was a nurse at the Drs practice, the other nurse who is 29 weeks along did give me a look of sympathy though, she must get it a lot.
I have been diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel syndrome in both arms which has been a real pain - literally! Apparently it is quite often brought on by pregnancy - Any body else got it? Its usually worse of a morning when i can barely move my arms and cannot hold onto anything. It should go after I have the baby but if not will have to have an op! But other than that all is good, tummy is still growing, waist has virtually disappeared, just waiting to feel those kicks now.

Carlitawantsababy · 26/10/2011 17:53

Ooh dorcas, painful! I haven't had it but had overheard a few pregnant women being treated for it when I've been for acupuncture. Do they do acupuncture where you are in Zambia?

My obs gave me a number of a reflexologist but I am back in the UK in 6 weeks (yey!!!) so I will have to arrange something there as well. This pregnancy lark certainly throws up a few surprises along the way!

Carlitawantsababy · 27/10/2011 19:51

Hi all! How're you doing? All exciting with me, the baby has really starting moving since yesterday (well, I've started feeling it) before I was getting a movement a day now it's practically all the time! Tiny kicks, somersaults and general dancing, it is just wonderful and amazing, feeling very fuzzy about it [soppygrin]

yo. i'm doing good carlita i've been feeling quite distinctive taps/thuds now quite low down so presume thats the baby having a kick. cant wait till my scan on tue... is it a boy is it a girl......................AGHHH the excitement is killing me!!!!

Pekka · 27/10/2011 21:27

Carlita - good luck to your scan! You will enjoy seeing your baby, s/he will seem almost ready to come out :) Ours seemed to have a personality, he was boxing with the scanner :)

Moffit - The scan went very well, thank you for asking :) We are having a little boy! we were undecided whether we will find out, so we asked the MW to write the sex on a piece of paper. We read the paper that same evening :)

I have also felt the baby move for a few weeks now. It has been more quiet lately, but hopefully he will start kicking again!

Good news on everyone's scans and wrigglings!
I'm off up to stay in London for a couple of days- hoping to find some good maternity jeans if I can cope with the scrum of Oxford Circus.
Good luck with the house hunt Carlita.
Hope you all have a good weekend. X

Carlitawantsababy · 28/10/2011 12:55

Thanks kiki, we're swapping for the weekend! Have a good one and enjoy the scrum! Smile

Hello March mummies, it has been a quite weekend on here, how is everyone doing?

Any plans for Halloween? I'm off work today, so just sitting here trying to decide what to carve in my pumpkin. Got my niece and nephew coming round after school so gotta get it ready........also got the sweets at the ready for my lovely neighbours children! [hsmile]

feekerry · 31/10/2011 11:29

Hello! I'm sitting here getting nervous about my scan tomorrow. I've had a look thru all the stuff they are checking for tomorrow and have worried myself now as they check for so much. Scan is a 1pm tomorrow. Keep everything crossed for me!x

KikiRC · 31/10/2011 13:48

I'm sure it will go fine, Feekerry. Good luck! Mine's not 'til next Friday.

Hope you all had a good weekend. I bought a few maternity things- two nice pairs of trousers (skinny soft jeans & a tweedy pair) from Topshop. The H&M maternity range is rubbish, I thought. Went shopping with my mum, which was fun but took about five times as long as usual, so I didn't get to go around as many places as I'd hoped. Still, my folks made a nice fuss of me. Have been a bit bombarded with baby catalogues.

Moffit, I saw a great pumpkin carved with bats.

Carlita- did you see any good houses?

X

Carlitawantsababy · 31/10/2011 14:01

It'll be great feekerry just try to focus on getting to see your little one again!
No plans for Halloween moffit even though it is my favourite! I've been so busy and have totally overdone it physically, as a result PGP is worse than ever so am on strict house rest until Wednesday!
kiki yes, we found our perfect house! It's a repo so too scared to give details online as we could be gazumped at any moment but very, very happy and if it all works out will be there mid December! Grin thanks for all your help!

Carlitawantsababy · 01/11/2011 16:08

How did it go feekerry?

feekerry · 01/11/2011 18:25

Hi everyone. Will keep this very brief as our internet is broken and has taken me an hour just to log on. All went well with scan. Everything within normal measurements but they couldn't tell me the sex which I was gutted about as felt it was more wouldn't than couldn't as she looked for about 5 seconds then said no cant tell you so I managed to squeeze in for a private scan tomorrow to find out gender. Will attempt to log on to update tomorrow but the main thing is there is a very happy and healty baby in there!x x

Carlitawantsababy · 01/11/2011 21:01

Congratulations feekerry wonderful news! Glad you're able to get another scan tomorrow too, I've not booked the 4D scan I bought for that exact reason! Grin

KikiRC · 02/11/2011 09:39

That's great all is well, Feekerry- and hope you find out the sex today. I was asked by a friend if I was going to find out if it was a baboon or giraffe, and those nicknames have stuck in this house! X

Moffit · 02/11/2011 12:00

Glad to hear all is well with your little one feekerry. Hope the private scan goes well today!!

Good news about the house Carlita, hope all works in your favour!

Are you all planning on finding out the sex? We dont want to know......but think we might be in the minority.........got our scan on Tuesday, so only 6 days to go!

feekerry · 02/11/2011 14:19

Hi ladies. Again just a brief update from me due to internet issues. . . But. . . It is most def a she now!! GIRL GIRL GIRL! Also if any of you are considering a private scan do it! We got some 3d pictures which are amazing. She looks just like my partner. I'm sitting here in awe. What an amazing experience. X

KikiRC · 02/11/2011 16:09

That's brilliant, feekerry! X

Carlitawantsababy · 02/11/2011 19:37

Congratulations feekerry a little girl, how exciting, makes it feel so real I bet?! Going to have the private scan at 30 weeks (providing we find out the sex on Friday) and am super excited about it now you've said yours was wonderful! Grin
moffit we have had so many negative reactions to wanting to find out, it's bizarre, people ask if we're finding out, I say yes and they say oh. and look disappointed, very odd. To me they are both amazingly exciting options! Grin

OP posts:
Moffit · 02/11/2011 20:28

Congratulations feekerry! Does it make it feel more real now that you know that you are having a girl? Have you already decided on a name or will you start making decisions now that you know?

Carlitawantsababy · 02/11/2011 20:31

C'mon feekerry's Internet! We want details. And pictures. Grin
