Hello! I've just found out that I'm pregnant and due on the 23rd March! I'm 29 and live in London with my husband, dog and cat. So far at 4 weeks things are going very smoothly! I'm very excited about going to the doctor (even if they don't care) as feel it will make things more real!
If you're expecting in March too please join the thread and share a bit about yourself and how your pregnancy is going!

Oh no! I didn't, sorry Sad I was so overwhelmed that everything was ok with baby that I forgot. My OH wasn't allowed to come in with me for my blood test today though which I thought was a bit odd (needed his hand to hold as I don't like needles much!) Got my next scan on November 7th at 930 - can't wait!!

Good luck to everyone having their scans soon, it's amazing! Grin

MrsMcJnr · 12/09/2011 15:10

Great news Broody! :)

Zhen - loved that clip! :)

Ds´s first day of school today. A bit emotional!!

Stogan · 12/09/2011 15:16

It's OK broody totally understand, everything falls outa ur head when u see that little alien dancing about doesn't it ha ha, I'll Find out soon enough x

KikiRC · 12/09/2011 16:03

Hello all,

Congrats, Broody- it's a wonderful feeling, isn't it?

Got my screening results back today- low risk for Downs, which is also a big relief. Hope the rest of you have had good results for your screenings.

I've actually started telling people now. X

KikiRC · 13/09/2011 22:01

Goodness- bought a new bra today and caught sight of the veins on my chest & boobs in the changing room. I think it was especially strong lighting in there, but- blimey- I'm like a road map! Anyone else had this?

Bought a 'comfort cup' bra- it's not particularly maternity, but it's not underwired & it has soft, molded cups- feels so much better. I sympathise with any large busted ladies during pregnancy- I'm still pretty small but they've been really sore recently. Hoping the new bra helps.

feekerry · 14/09/2011 13:23

I've had no boob issues at all really thank god- oh apart from the fact they've got really hairy! Yuk! Did you go to be fitted kiki or not. Thinking I should really go to be fitted. I just tend to pick up what I like. Any suggestions on good places to get fitted?

ZhenXiang · 14/09/2011 16:49

Congrats broody :)

Kiki - my boobs are not too bad this time around, but I do remember the veins being really obvious as I got bigger with DD and also during breastfeeding, good blood supply to the boobs is always good I reckon even if it is not such an attractive look!

knitterati · 14/09/2011 17:54

Know what you mean about the booby veins - DH mentioned something about them looking like a map the other day Sad

They've also got quite 'downy' but he hasn't been allowed close enough to me to find out about that!! Grin

KikiRC · 14/09/2011 18:11

I guess the veins mean something's working right... Mine haven't got hairy, but there's plenty of time yet!

I didn't get a proper fitting, feekerry, I just tried a few different sizes on. I think my actual band measurement has already increased, not just the cup size- I thought that didn't happen until much later, especially as I don't seem to have put any weight there. I'm getting some of those glamourous bra extenders!

My friend says she went from a B cup to an E during her pregnancy, so I just bought the one new bra for now, as I can't afford to be replacing them every five minutes. X

MrsMcJnr · 15/09/2011 20:35

Hi girls :)

So glad you got good results Kiki :)

I have had a horrible day. It started with fasting bloods at my health centre. They failed to tell me (and I failed to ask..) that I had to do the O´Sullivan Test too. Everyone has to do it here. So at 8.30am I drank a bottle of liquid sugar, gagged for an hour in the surgery, had my blood taken, left feeling queasy, retched all morning. Then managed to choose a bread with soya in for lunch (I am allergic) so I then had an anaphylactic shock and ended up in A&E on anti-histamines. Then to top it off my Haviana snapped as I left the hospital! Think I will just go to bed now, exhausted.

Funnily enough my boobs have done NOTHING this time round! I started off with a 32F chest and got bigger and bigger when I was pregnant with my DS and DD and my feeding bras were a K cup (Bravissimo) but I think I have lost all of my stuffing and am only about a D cup these days. They are a bit veiny though. I discovered underwired feeding bras by a Swedish company called Abeceta, there was no going back after that. As long as the wires sit on your flesh properly and don´t dig in, it´s safe to wear them.

feekerry · 15/09/2011 21:25

Omg god mrs! Thats sounds like an awful day. Poor you. I've never heard of that test and frankly dont want to after your report! Take care. X

ZhenXiang · 15/09/2011 21:32

Oh MrsMc what a terrible day, glad you got to A&E and are ok now. I think you definitely deserve a cheeky bit of Wine this evening x

KikiRC · 15/09/2011 22:00

God, you poor thing MrsMc. Hope you're feeling much better now and you can take it easy for a couple of days. That must have been really frightening. X

JoZambia · 16/09/2011 11:09

Hope you are feeling better now MrsM
Has anyone elses feet started to swell? It could be that where i live its getting very hot as its nearly summer but all my shoes, and i wear mainly sandals/flipflops are getting really uncomfortable.

Carlitawantsababy · 16/09/2011 18:59

Haha zhen that video was brilliant!
mrsmc you poor thing, hope you are feeling better now? I got very excited there about your Abeceta underwired bras but am already too big for them as they only go to H cup (have gone from 30H to 32HH since being upduffed) did you find any when you were a K cup? I'd just love a moulded one, that's what I normally wear and miss it!
Glad all your scans have gone well, fab news!
I had my second scan today at 13+0 for the nuchal measurement and it was amazing, baby has grown so much in 2 weeks! I asked if I was right thinking it was a boy and she said " it is rather prominent between the legs but I couldn't say for sure" ! Grin how exciting! have next one booked for exactly 7 weeks time!

NotFromConcentrate · 16/09/2011 19:04

Wow Carlita, that's impressive being told so early! Grin I looked a total fool on Wednesday when the Sonographer pointed out an ovary to her trainee - I though she meant it was the baby's rather than mine! Blush

Carlitawantsababy · 16/09/2011 19:28

I wasn't exactly told! She said I'd find out at 20 weeks but that was a decent hint wasn't it?

OP posts:
MrsMcJnr · 16/09/2011 19:46

Thanks ladies, today has been a much better day albeit a sleepy one!

Carlita - great news on your scan. Sorry to get your hopes up about the bras. I wasn´t as big when I BF DD and that is when I had the underwired bras. With DS I had soft cup ones from Bravissimo, pretty unsupportive I might add, hope you find some moulded ones.

Jo - one of my friends here has not managed to get back into her pre-pregnancy shoes after her two boys. I have heard that your shoe size can alter.

Notfromconcentrate - it´s an easy mistake, DH thought one of my ovaries was the baby´s head at our first scan!

NotFromConcentrate · 16/09/2011 19:55

Thanks MrsMc, I feel a bit less silly now Grin It was the way she nonchanlantly said "there's baby's head, an arm, an ovary..." that made me be really thick wonder.

Carlita, I'd say that was a pretty heavy hint! My MW asked at my appointment after my scan if we'd be finding out the gender which was great, because I wasn't sure if they still told paremts

MrsMcJnr · 17/09/2011 20:05

Jozambia - was just thinking I may have met you on a thread in the past, were you on any of the TTC threads a few years back?

JoZambia · 18/09/2011 13:18

MrsMcjnr Nope wasn't me sorry!

feekerry · 18/09/2011 14:23

hi ladies.
had my combined test results through yesterday as 1 in 34000 so pleased with that after my inital worry!

carlita when i had my 12 weeks scan the sonographer said they sometimes have a good idea at 12 weeks of the sex but wouldn't nomally say anything. so i'd take that as a big hint!!!
i said to the sonographer at mine that i'd be really surprised if it wasn't a girl and she replied that i may well be half right! so she wasn't really giving anything away!!

anyways- how many times are you ladies getting up for a wee at night then??? i was fine up until a few days ago then every night since i've got up twice in the night for a wee, even if i go for one just before i sleep. not impressed. Envy

Stogan · 18/09/2011 16:25

I'm up 3-4 times a night and try to have my last drink before 8pm and wee just before sleep but guess my little one just likes dancing on my bladder Grin x

Moffit · 19/09/2011 20:23

Hello Ladies, glad to hear that you are all doing so well. I had my scan last Tuesday, all is well and I was 12+5, so my due date has moved forward two days to the 22nd March (is that anyone elses due date?). We told both sets of parents and have now started spreading the word to more family and friends. Everyone is really pleased for us and it is starting to feel more real now!!

On the subject of needing to wee in the night, mine seems to be in the early hours of the morning at about 4 or 5, but then I struggle to get back to sleep and still get up on time!

JoZambia · 19/09/2011 20:24

I have been up about 4 times a night though last night it was just once, like Stogan really trying to watch what I am drinking/eating before bed. Hopefully will be just once again tonight.

Hope everyone is well, thread has been a bit quiet of late!
