Hello! I've just found out that I'm pregnant and due on the 23rd March! I'm 29 and live in London with my husband, dog and cat. So far at 4 weeks things are going very smoothly! I'm very excited about going to the doctor (even if they don't care) as feel it will make things more real!
If you're expecting in March too please join the thread and share a bit about yourself and how your pregnancy is going!

Enjoy your scan Carlita I know you have really looked forward to today!

Does anyone know if the next trimester starts at the beginning of week 13 or beginning of week 14?? Getting a tad confused!

KikiRC · 02/09/2011 10:42

Good luck Carlita !! X

I was wondering about the second trimester thing. I was assuming that it was the beginning of week 13. But I'm rubbish with numbers, nearly asked DPs far more clued-up seven year old!

NorthernGirlie · 02/09/2011 11:12

Hi LAdies - hope everyone is well!! Just been for our dating / nuchal scan and all is well - we're 13+1 just as we thought :) Feeli like I've had a bit of a kicking as baby was being a bit naughty and kept doing back flips so they couldn't measure the neck. Sonogrophers had to swap over as the first one's arm was killing it was taking that long - they really push down on your tummy!! All worth it though :)

Just wondering - at the next scan the lady said she's see me first to do 'checks' and then shout for Dad. Does anyone know what they do in the 'Mum first' bit?? My OH is winding me up about it being very intimate ;) Haha.

Was surprised to see one family take in their daughter and what I assume was both Grans - nice that they all got to see the scan but 5 in one of those small rooms!!

Happy bumps everyone xx

Carlitawantsababy · 02/09/2011 12:08

Congratulations northern!
Hi All! All is well! our little baby was wiggling around all over the place, lovely strong heartbeat! I'm so happy, what an exciting, wonderful morning! DH welled up which was very cute, I didn't, I was just fascinated.
Extra good news is that although I was very clear about being 11+0 today the sonographer said I need to be at least 11+2 for the NT scan and that the hospital keep booking people in too early, so, I get another scan on the 16th when I'll be 13+0! How good is that? I get to see my baby again! Hooray I can start telling people now!

JoZambia · 02/09/2011 13:01

eaglewings · 02/09/2011 15:05

Great to hear that so many of you are having good news despite the sickness. I hope you all have an exciting march.

Sadly I'm out now as I'm having a mmc. My older kids are making it easier for me.

Make sure you do a round up of news in March for me to see

Carlitawantsababy · 02/09/2011 16:46

So sorry eagle take good care of yourself Sad

Stogan · 02/09/2011 16:50

Hi I'm 13 weeks and after 4 mmcs am still a little overwhelmed by the whole thing. Still, all scans have been amazing this tine an baby is actually growing rapidly, I'm like a house and loving it !!

Hi to all fellow march mummies to be it's an amazing yet scary feeling but so far I'm loving it xxxxxGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Stogan · 02/09/2011 17:00

So sorry eagle Sad xxxxx

MrsMcJnr · 02/09/2011 22:14

Sorry Eagle, been there a couple of times and know the pain but do agree that the kids you already have help, my 2nd MC was much easier than the 1st before I had any kids. Sending hugs and hopes for you to be on the lovely journey again soon.

Had my booking in appointment yesterday. Having my scan on Tuesday. Hope I am far along enough for them to do the NF, my protests of actually being 10 days behind the traditional calculated date fell on deaf ears. Will be lovely to get some reassurance (hopefully) as to what is going on in there though!

KikiRC · 03/09/2011 08:25

Hello all,

Glad to hear all about your good scans folks, but terribly sorry to hear your sad news, Eagle.

Hope you all have a good weekend. I've re-discovered an old pair of jeans that actually fit comfortably around my middle (or rather, under my middle.)

Was anyone else as nervous as me the days running up to their scan? X

happyland · 03/09/2011 08:44

Sorry to hear that Eagle xx

JoZambia · 03/09/2011 10:38

So sorry to hear your news Eagle, hope you are being well looked after.

Welcome Stogan glad I am not the only one the size of a house (though to be fair I was not exactly small to begin with!)

kiki I was sick with nerves before my scan, partially because of hearing others bad news but also because I had managed to convince myself that there was no baby and I had just imagined the whole thing and they were going to tell me I was really stupid!!! Didnt help that the Obs first question to me was "Well why do you think you are pregnant???"

I am down to one pair of jeans and one pair of cargos that still fit ok, depressingly these are my fat pairs that I kept after I lost some weight and i will probably only last another couple of weeks in, the rest of the time I live in my Pj's.

Had a new symptom last night, after weeks of not wanting to eat anything I woke up in the middle of the night absolutely starving! twice! Appetite seems to be back today as well.

Hope everyone has a really nice weekend, I am off to a BBQ with some friends who have just become grandparents so hopefully I will be able to talk babies all afternoon!

feekerry · 03/09/2011 13:12

how nice to hear all these successful scans!- congrats Carlitawantsababy, NorthernGirlie and good luck this week MrsMcJnr, mine is on friday so looking forward to that.
sorry to hear your news eagle, i hope you are chilling out and being well looked after :(

Carlitawantsababy · 04/09/2011 08:27

mrsmc how far along will you be at your scan?
Welcome stogan good to have you with us! It must be very hard after 4 mmc's but 13 weeks is a very safe point to have reached, congratulations! I guess you've has lots of extra scans, how have they been? I loved it, looking forward to the next one!
Kiki I was nervous on and off, mostly because I felt like I should be but calmed myself by thinking about the fact that I had very good odds of everything being well, that being nervous would have no positive affect on the outcome and that pregnancy is wonderful and should be enjoyed and if I worry I'd miss out on that. You don't have long to wait now!
jozambia that's not a helpful first question! I too had that worry that maybe there's no baby, such a relief to see the little thing, glad s/he was so lively too as I didn't have to wait to see a heartbeat.
Thanks feekerry! looking forward to hearing all about yours on Friday! Grin

KikiRC · 04/09/2011 09:43

JoZ, that's exactly how I've been feeling! I know it's silly. I think I'll be much more relaxed about everything if the scan is OK- it will all feel a lot more 'real'. I think it feels there's a lot resting on this scan, because I have only told a couple of people, and so it only feels half-real at the moment, it marks a turning point.

I presume everyone's screening results have come back OK if they have received them? How long did they take to come back?

X

worldgonemad72 · 04/09/2011 19:33

Hi everyone, i went for my dating scan on friday, all seems ok, my due date is officially 1st march 2012 now. Couldn't do the nuchal test as baby was in a funny position but will have another blood test in a couple of weeks. Sickness is sort of getting better, only 3 or 4 times a day now and im managing to eat small pasta meals, cereal and toast Smile starting to buy some maternity wear now aswel and have been given a lovely moses basket by my sister. only got 6 weeks until my next scan and we are hoping to find out the sex of the baby if he/she poses for the camera lol

MrsMcJnr · 04/09/2011 21:20

Hey ladies thanks for all the good wishes for my scan on Tues. I have a cold sore, have never had one before in my life (I am 37!) Chemist told me it was just the baby zapping my defences!

Carlita - By LMP I´ll be 12+2 but I think I am a week behind that.

KikiRC ? I am always nervous about scans, the minute I get in there and see a beating heart I relax though.

Jo Zambia ? I am eating constantly, only way to keep the nausea at bay. Hope you got to talk about babies all day at the BBQ 

FeeKerry ? all the best for your scan on Fri and to everyone else with scans this week.

Worldgonemad ? glad all went well at your scan  we didn?t find out what we were having with my DS though I knew deep down he was a boy but we moved to Spain before having my DD and everyone finds out here so we found out really early she was a girl. Again I had a gut feeling. We always said we wouldn´t find out with a 3rd (unless it was twins!) but it will be a miracle if we can get through a pregnancy here without someone letting it slip besides we don´t have a single name so we may have to find out to make it easier on ourselves!

Stogan · 05/09/2011 08:04

Hi carlita
I have had 4 scans so far and have another this Wednesday but am off work sick today. Had no sleep mega headaches and can't stop crying so scared everhthing is going to go wrong. Thing is I'm on treatment for very high natural killer cells so although according to my consultant I'm out of the woods ( and he is amazing) I'm still reluctant to believe it, it's so hard !! Guess I won't truly believe it until my baby is here but today is not a positive day Sad just need to get motivated and then get positive for my scan on wed when my hyperactive baby ( it's been dancing on every scan) will hopefully still be on track.

Sorry to be a bit miserable and hi to everyone else (waves excitedly to all) xx Grin x

MrsMcJnr · 05/09/2011 12:36

Poor you Stogan. I have had those headaches in the past too, horrible. I hope you feel much better after you have had a day in bed. I also understand a little of what you are going through emotionally. I lost my first baby in the 2nd trimester and then discovered I had a blood clotting disorder. I was terrified the whole time when I was pg with DS, I could not imagine him being born alive. I really didn´t enjoy my pregnancy, I was too scared. When I got pg with DD I decided from the outset that I was going to trust my medicines and my Drs and fate and be positive right from the start and I enjoyed the pregnancy so much more. I recently lost another baby so I know it is not all plain sailing even when you know what is wrong with you and are treating it. A dear friend of mine also has very high killer cells and I know about what she goes through for a baby too. Take good care of yourself and keeping talking to us :)

Stogan · 05/09/2011 13:14

Thanks MrsMc, everyone is so lovely On Here . Sorry to hear you had it rough too honey, makes u realise how much we take for granted doesn't it.
