Ginfox · 19/07/2011 14:20

Sweep fail here too. MW could only just reach it (felt like she was in up to the elbow), and said it was completely and utterly padlocked shut. She gave it a good prod anyway. Am booked in for "priming" on saturday. But at least my MW had a bash. Poor GG - whadda bitch of a MW to not even try. Interesting diet developments tho.

Bitey my cervix is always hard to reach (for smear etc) cos its kind of to the side and round the corner. So baybee's head complicates things further, and makes it even harder to reach, prob not helped by me being taller than average. I think it's a fairly common problem.

Also Bitey it sounds as if a restraining order might be an idea. And FDH definitely needs to man-up and protect you from all mentalists.

Boots my rellies are all making an August pilgrimage from the Midlands to Scotland, and they are all luffly and reasonable people. However I reserve the right to throw a tantrum/go to bed/refuse to move off the sofa as the mood takes me. Preggo hormone rules still apply, therefore you can be as rude and antisocial as you bloody well like. Apologise sometime in the future if necessary - maybe Owlet's 5th birthday.

Macca open-ended relly visit sounds very scary. Well done on taking evasive action.

LadyGoneGaga · 19/07/2011 14:25

Aw, sorry you had a crap sweep too, Gin. But am sure it means nothing and our babies will just shoot out very soon. So this "priming" on Saturday? Is it an induction? Saturday is ages away anyway.

Ginfox · 19/07/2011 14:44

Priming is the pessary gel-thingy (assuming cervix still tightly shut). If cervix has opened on its own, I'll prolly be sent home, then back to be induced on sunday if necessary. Hmm

Have had mild crampy pains on and off since seing MW, but not getting my hopes up. There again, Mr Fox has job interviews on Thurs and Fri, so we know what'll happen don't we?

Dunno why I'm so down about it, it's not as if there's a problem with me or sprog. And as MrF pointed out, it's only because they give you a EDD, and your aim your life at it - as does your entire family - then feel like a numpty when you go overdue.

OP posts:
laurielou · 19/07/2011 15:17

Afternoon luffly ladies.

Pliz do not concern yourselves with me having an off day - it was all to do with crazy hormones + babybrain = left (obviously winning) lottery tickets at Tesco = many tears at my stoopidity.

Ski - I'm glad that the bodily fluids from all orrifces have subsided. You deserved a non-vom diffment this time, surely?

LadyG sorry your MW didn't even try a sweep - sounds a bit lazy to me. I hadn't had any symptoms at all, & my MW still had a rummage. Gin sorry you're hasn't produced a baby yet either.

Bitey - your SIL is insane. I mean, its vay kind that she's interested etc, but back the fuck off. For what its worth I totally agree with not telling anyone at the first twinge - especially as you say first time around. However, that was another of my birth plans that went to pot, as I didn't even get as far as a first twinge. Ho hum.

Had BugBoy weighed at clinic this morning - 11lb 14oz Shock. Little chubster - all the more for me to cuddle though Grin

owlbooty · 19/07/2011 16:40

Aw, shite, Ginners :( Tis as you say; the EDD is a load of crap and best ignored (try telling that to the hovering inlaws and MWs wielding pessaries though)

Hoorah for chubster Bug - I bet he is gorgeous and has those plump wrists and ankles that make me go SQUEEEE. Grin

When I guessed my SIL had gone into labour I sent my brother one text just saying 'has it all kicked off? Feel free to ignore this text'. When he sent one back saying 'yes' I sent one more saying 'good luck!!' and left them to it.

I haf just been swimming. Despite all the advice that doing frog legs with breast stroke aggravates PGP I am finding the opposite. Tis the only comfortable way I can swim. God it's nice to be weightless.

MrBitey · 19/07/2011 18:21

I've been to aqua natal and also enjoyed the weightlessness -bloody lovely!

Sorry you also had bad sweep times gin but two job interviews must surely provoke the fox cub into coming out?

Medee · 19/07/2011 21:19

I loved floating on my back in the pool when I went to the spa with my mum in january, which I don't think you are meant to do either, but it was so relaxing. She's back there this week, the be-atch.

rocketleaf · 19/07/2011 21:23

I asked my MW about back stroke/ floating on back and she said no problem. The water supports you so you dobt have the same worry about compressing the blood flow as lying on your back in bed. I used to find it blissful so was very glad to hear it!

AlpinePony · 20/07/2011 10:11

It's very quiet this morning - is everyone off a-layin' ?

laurie I did indeed order a nom-vom this time and tbh it's been mostly under control and was much worse last time.

I'm looking forward to differ swimming - it's the best! Grin

owlbooty · 20/07/2011 11:02

Nope; doing ill-advised DIY. I've actually made myself feel sick now so having a sit down and a cuppa. Grin

I'm going to be a right fucking mess by the time I actually get round to laying; all my joints are gradually giving up.

Hoorah for the swimming though; floating on back is ace (although comical for anyone watching due to bump sticking out of water).

LadyGoneGaga · 20/07/2011 12:35

No laying here. Had a friend round this morning. MiniG fell out with her little boy within about 10 minutes of them being here. Which made for a fun visit. Another friend coming this afternoon. Let's see if he can develop his social skills any.

Maybe I should take MiniG swimming tomorrow. Although he will want me to go on water slide with him. Not sure is recommended at 9 months pregnant. Although could get things moving I s'pose. Failed to do teh sechs last night. Went to sleep early instead.

Where is Gin? I expect she is laying. Envy

macaroonmum · 20/07/2011 13:28

Owlie put the tools down and relax. You'll regret doing all this work in a few week's time. I have planned the next 8 days with thechild packed off to nursery, cups of tea, visiting friends, and lots of dvds. I know what I'm going into and I'm revelling in laziness while I can

GG I took thechild to the pool 2 weeks ago and decided I wouldn't do it alone and pregnant again - it was feckin' exhausting. Would definitely get things moving. Or just make you very tired.

Ginnnerrrrrrrzz ?!

Loz But you already won the lottery, didn't you? ;)

I am officially a bit scared to drive around alone now. Have been feeling 'discomfort' in the evenings and am hoping to get to the date they've given me. That involves me generally just being very lazy :) (I am so milking this pregnancy). Had last midwife visit this morning - Head is firmly wedged under left boob. Ah well.

Shall we open a book on GG and Gin? if you both go for inductions on Sunday it'll be a proper race

owlbooty · 20/07/2011 13:51

GG I reckon the waterslide is EXACTLY what you need to get things moving. Just don't go down it if it's one of those tunnel ones. Don't want to have to call out the fire brigade Grin They'll be busy rescuing Bites from her bath and me from my horizontal position on the kitchen floor following the fitting of plinth bits - I did actually think for a minute I wouldn't be able to get up and would have to just stay there snacking on things in the lower cupboards til Mr Boots came home.

Also I have sawed finger. Then made lunch and cut same finger in same place whilst chopping tomatoes. Bah.

Maccers the laziness sounds ace. I'm not going to bet on either of the Gs for Sunday as I reckon one of them will get there before induction begins - just not sure who yet :) Hopefully both.

I'm going to spend the afternoon sitting on my arse eating oatcakes with cheese on. Pliz bring Pimms and join me, you lot.

PollyPoo · 20/07/2011 14:17

Just marking my place ready for the cluster lay.

Macca sorry to hear that naughty baybee is wrong way up. But you will be meeting the little monkey soon! Glad to hear you are being lazy, that in my opinion is what pregnancy is all about. Smile I don't know what my excuse is... I am not diffed but seem incapable of actually accomplishing anything.

We are having Boo's 4th birthday party on Friday. She has invited all her preschool friends (all 12 of them) plus other friends and family. I must be mad.... The house is a tip, I haven't bought her a present or done any shopping, or sorted the party bags. And I can't seem to get off my arse to do anything.

Anyone heard from scropey? She is vey quiet.

MrBitey · 20/07/2011 15:10

No laying here either. My dad took me off roading earlier but no dice. Have also drunk a litre of fresh pineapple juice and eaten half a pineapple and a strawberry trifle and just feel a bit tropical now.

I think bitey bach may still be busy growing, woke up at five am STARVING and haven't really stopped stuffing since.

Glad you are up off the floor now boots but what a great place to seize up! Although lower cupboard pickings in my kitchen are slim and mostly cat food. Ouchy finger injury too hope the tomatoes didn't sting.

Thought I was going to laugh the baybee out at the thought of gaga getting involved in a hydra slide blockage! Grin Grin Grin

Hello pol! Hopefully weather will be nice so you can legitimately deny entry to the house.

maccers I am going to join you on the lazing I think, what shall we watch next? Casino Royale?

rocketleaf · 20/07/2011 15:38

Just a quicky to say have been in touch with scorps and she is ok just very busy with Mr T and still suffering a bit post partum effects so not really MNing much. I'll let her fill you in on details herself but didn't want you fretting poo sounds like things are getting much better with the feeding

PollyPoo · 20/07/2011 16:28

Thanks for the update Rocket. How are you doing on the feeding front now? I hope its gotten easier.

Orchid12 · 20/07/2011 20:14

Evening all Smile. Just making myself comfortable for the upcoming excitement. I have the chumpers on ice ready...

Life here is good. We all have colds, including poor squidge, which is making sleeping a bit difficult, but mostly we're good. Mini O has stopped going to the childminders as of today so I am now officially in charge of two full time- argh!!!

laurielou · 20/07/2011 20:54

Rocks thanks for the update on Scorps, glad to hear all is OK.

Orcs I salute you being in charge of 2. I can hardly manage 1 Grin

rollerbaby · 20/07/2011 21:18

Right move up you slaaaaaaaags. I'm back!!!! Exciting times and lovely to be back in the hood. Hope Ginfox is ok and laying...

Please to be added to the list as and when.

LadyGoneGaga · 20/07/2011 21:38

Welcome back, Honey.

Well I am proper exhausted. MiniG is being a proper terror at the moment and is really pushing my buttons. He was so naughty and rude today. I don't know how the fuck will manage him and a baby. Maybe is a good thing baby still in for a bit. Am actually glad I'm going to be in hospital for a bit for a rest. Hats off to you, O. When does he get his free nursery place? MiniG's is September. Cannot wait!

rocketleaf · 20/07/2011 21:49

moo Go directly to the Deli, do not pass the Palais, do not collect 200 piss sticks ;-) Congrates again.

pollster things are a thousand times better, fanx very much. Still get a bit noia that things might go tits up but hopefully we'll stay on track now.

gaga sounds like miniG is pushing the boundaries. He's not daft is he, probably senses the imminent change and that you are a bit vulnerable. Hope it's just a wobble.

MrBitey · 21/07/2011 09:48

Hello Honey, nice to meet you and congratulations!

You won't be safe in the hospital gaga, when my mum had me and was on the post natal ward my sister asked her at a volume that only three year ols can reach "Why did you marry Daddy Mummy? Is it because I was in your tummy?" Grin

I finally got to see Harry Potter last night, was fab. But my friend swears that there is a brief flash of Ralph Fiennes willy during one scene. I missed it as was crying. Do you think I should book myself into a mother and baby screening as a post lying treat?? and stare hard at the screen to try and see a willy

rollerbaby · 21/07/2011 10:25

Hi Bitey! Lovely to be here. I don't know how I missed these mother and baby screenings first time around. Monkey's too big now and would sing throughout but I won't be making that mistake this time! I MISS the cinema! Not sure about potter tho... you seriously need to man up! ;)

CurlyCasper · 21/07/2011 11:23

No laying yet?

I never made it to mum and baby cinema - films on offer were always crap when I considered it. But bitey, I don't think you'll be seeing much willy. More likely the insides of your eyelids. Maybe just wait for the DVD and a time when you'll be more alert? Wink

Thanks for the scorps update. Been thinking of her.
