ps - sure the baybee will be fine but not sure about your poor taste buds. Haggis and chocolate is not a combo I would choose. Wink

BarbiesBeaver · 16/09/2011 16:18

Rocky could you Pm me the scripts too please? Although husband doesn't understand why I don't want every drug and intervention going and thinks my Hippo book is beyond Woo. I daren't mention the perineal massage....

BrownB · 16/09/2011 22:39

Alps - which was the dress you bought? There are a number of very loverly ones on the IO website. All of which I missed on the sale.

You lot are worrying me slightly. This getting organised thing... I haven't allowed myself to do more than skim the giving birth sections of the pregnancy books yet. I'm only 22 weeks ffs. But Brownlet is definitely making herself felt now. Grin And a very good friend of mine has said something shockingly similar about being organised and everything...

AlpinePony · 17/09/2011 08:12

brownie I got this one www.isabellaoliver.com/maternity-clothes/eu/100/maternity-dresses/DR060.html in a forest green (very autumnal) which is currently up for 135 euros, but bearing in mind my total bill was 100 for 3 items... I can't remember how much I paid - but I think around 45 (?). They've currently got 17% off - but if you sign up to their emails - or I will let you know next time they've got a better discount. Or, you could get lucky on ebay - I know cosmosis picked up an IO maternity top for a few quid there - lucky caaah.

rocket Well you might not think it's a good combo - but tell it to the Mexicans eh!? Grin As far as the jeans go - that's not all your fault you know, clothes are being cut more and more to fit Humpty Dumpty - and this is exactly why I'm not in maternity jeans yet. Because waists are so bloody enormous on jeans there's plenty of tummy/waist room to be filled. Wallis are supposed to be good for arses, Etam if you're sur le continent, GAP curvy, Levis curvy and if you're out for an ebay bargain - I've never had a better fitting pair than BabyPhat. Some of the babyphat stuff is ever so bling and it'll make you come over all Beyonce* but you can get just an ordinary pair of jeans with a small cat logo on a pocket or something.

barbie Perineal massage can be "misinterpreted" by men, poor curly got her husband to do it and he took it to mean "foreplay" and they ended up doing The Sechs! ShockWink

Aaaah Beyonce - here's me whittering on about IO dresses and truffs* is the PESH maternity jeans expert - but have any of you got a pair of maternity leather hotpants? Whaddya mean "NO"?

kat2504 · 17/09/2011 08:18

Nice dress alps I really like that and sounds like you have had a bargainous shop!

AlpinePony · 17/09/2011 12:07

Now this looks like exactly the same dress to me - but in the sale : www.picchumaternity.com/latest-offers/sale/ruffle-wrap-maternity-dress.html - I'm liking the stuff on that site actually.

MadameBoo · 17/09/2011 16:33

I had that dress for my sisters wedding - it's lovely isn't it Alps? I sold it on ebay for more than I paid for it!

AlpinePony · 18/09/2011 10:36

Really boo? That's nice to hear! I might keep it though if it still fits well post-partum.

How are all the few PESH doing? I've got a kicking little wriggler inside me which is keeping me company because I'm feeling very low. JB and Bear are back in the UK and I'm missing them terribly.

kat If you're nifty with torrents, you can download the hippo stuff for your ipod. Stealin' from the man et al.

I don't know how truffs finds the energy to do everything she does. I'm strictly a "one day only" gal at the weekend. If I'm doing something saturday then sunday I can be found lying down on the sofa. You'd better enjoy your ML missy, no running up and down the country visiting friends. Turn your phone off and put your feet up. I know everyone says "it'll be your last chance" but they really do mean it!

Medee · 18/09/2011 10:40

lovely dresses.

truffs or anyone else - I mentioned a white Jojomaman maternity wrap shirt I have, size 10, BNWT that I bought from ebay but never got to work on me, if anyone would like. let me know and I will send it - saves me relisting it on ebay, as I only paid pennies for it.

BarbiesBeaver · 19/09/2011 09:41

Err actually Pone I've been a bit rampant on the masturbation sechs side so I'm liking the sound of the arse/fanny massage even more now. (Rampant as in wanting it lots - not actually managing it loads). When are your menfolk back from the UK?

I won a Seraphine jumper on ebay for £1! meds that is extremely kind of you on the shirt front - alas I don't really need a shirt as we are allowed to turn up in any old rags at work. They would probably pass out if I turned up looking smart.

The sicks have been coming back the last few days - I'm quite happy without them thanks.

AlpinePony · 19/09/2011 18:57

Oh barbie - I didn't know you were such a whore. Wink They're back on wednesday and I went back to work today - and was ridiculously busy which made the day go very quickly. Sorry to hear about the sickness - thought you were done with all that.

Note to PESHes - make sure your wrap-dress is well-wrapped in case you find yourself stood in front of the lift and realise that you've "come undone" ... and then the doors open. :( Wear nice pants.

kat2504 · 20/09/2011 15:24

I haz eaten some goats cheese in a restaurant last night shock horror! Have I harmed baybeeee? ( I also had a nice glass of tonic water on the side)

Truffkin · 24/09/2011 11:05

Has there really been no PESH action since Tuesday? Good Lord women, are you all away having real lives or something? Shock

So it's Saturday and I have the whole sofa / bed / Sky+ / remote control to myself as TGB is in Gateshead on a stag do. I thought I might feel a little lonely but so far, so good and I am enjoying my 'do what I like' time. I have made the most of it and woke up sprawled across the bed diagonally, good times. I have lots of crap my favourite programmes recorded too so have some catching up to do. I watched the last couple of episodes of Torchwood last night but am now a bit impatient to wait for the next series Hmm

Meds thanks so much for the offer, however I think the effort of trying to squeeze my considerable buzwams into a size 10 shirt may bring on premature labour so I will have to leave it for another less busty PESH. I did get the Noppies shirt in the end and it fitted fine, although I don't think a slightly ruched-front white shirt is really flattering maternity wear for a busy lady so have retired it now my stint as a police-hen is over Grin

I am inclined to concur with you Pone about the hectic nature of my lifestyle in recent times. I had a good enough time last weekend at the hen do but have been cream crackered all week and am grateful for doing nothing this weekend. I did venture to Cheshire Oaks whilst away though and spent a small fortune picked up some bargains. I got some nice post-preggo clothes that I'm already looking forward to wearing, but also a Radley changing bag. I wasn't sure I was into the 'designer' change bags but this one is vee nice and was less than half price in the outlet store, so I was quite chuffed. I did also buy some items that I intend to give as Christmas presents! I felt a bit like my Mom, getting organised for Christmas so early (although to be fair, she starts in January with the sales so I haven't gone that far yet) I got a couple of bits & bobs in Mamas & Papas, although it wasn't really discounted considering it is an outlet. They had some cute Christmas baby gros an hats so I got a few things.

We also now have a moses basket! I bought this one and it came on Thursday, so we now have a baby's bed in our spare room! I was a little peeved when I went to find the link and saw it had been discounted though, especially considering I've been uhming and ahing for a few weeks and only ordered it last Sunday - bloody typical!

We're back in Brum next weekend for my nephew's 3rd birthday party and will be picking up the pram and car seat from my in-laws, where they have been since they bought them for us a month or so ago. I'm looking forward to having a play with it again, to remind ourselves how to work it.

In other organising news, I have finally sorted out what I am doing with mat leave and I finish work on 28th October - only 23 days in the office now Confused I'll have nearly 3 weeks holiday before my mat leave officially starts on my due date, If babs decides to put in an early appearance, they have agreed to carry over any spare leave and add it at the end.

What is everyone else up to this fine weekend? I hope all of the PESH babes are doing well (I always enjoy a good coo on FaceCrack at the pics) and my fellow differs are feeling good. Pone has it been nice to have the boys back in town? Hope you have filled up on bear snuggles.

BarbiesBeaver · 26/09/2011 09:36

Hello Truffs! Yes it's been mucho quiet in here - I guess most of us are around the stages where not much seems to happen except buying stuff and expanding! That moses basket is beautiful.

I've also bought the first Christmas present too - for my nephew. I think people will be getting small things this year - money is pretty tight at the moment. I'm not sure where we'll be for Christmas - our house is on the market and we want to move to the other side of the county so depending on where we are we'll either be with friends and family with newborn/still waiting or on our own with newborn/still waiting. It's quite frustrating as we just want to move house and get things sorted. Oh well. The maternity unit down here is really nice so that's one bonus if we don't end up moving for a bit.

Anyone bought a yoga ball? I was thinking of getting one to help with lower back ache but wasn't sure if they were worth it.

Hope you are all enjoying some sun at last!

AlpinePony · 30/09/2011 12:20

Oh dear poor Fred's dead. :(

I'm 'aving a boy! Grin

barbie I'm thinking of getting a ball because it's good for SPD - i.e., sitting up straight and engaging core. I expect it'll gather dust at the back of a cupboard somewhere.

LadyGoneGaga · 30/09/2011 22:48

Lovely baby boy, Alps! They'll be great friends being so close in age too. My friend has two little boys 12 months apart - they are nutty together but so close.

BB I had birthing ball and used it loads at the end. To sit and wiggle on to encourage baby to engage but also took it to hospital with me and used it in early labour. Worth it.

Sorry for the radio silence. Nothing much to report here. Baybee has relax but otherwise well and getting big. Managed to bribe MiniG into not coming into our bed anymore. Which is fab. Finally sleeping through at the age of 3. Thank fuck. The bribe...Peppa pig game for the Wii, innit.

BrownB · 01/10/2011 16:41

Is a yoga ball the same thing as a Swiss ball? And is a pregnancy ball the same as a yoga ball.

AlpinePony · 01/10/2011 17:24

Im going to say yes except anything with the word pregnant on it will be twice the price.

InTheSunshine · 01/10/2011 22:04

Hello PESH. I'm here to ask for IVF experience please. Got my letter this week. Not really sure what to expect. We've had all the tests so I'm guessing the next appt is to get signed up. Is that what happens?

rocketleaf · 02/10/2011 13:30

what pone said about the ball. just get a yoga one and make sure it is anti burst. I used one a lot during pregnancy and spent 90% of my labour rocking like a demented person on one too. Then TB took it to work for his back and promptly burst it on a drawing pin (see anti burst comment)

sunnyD Is this first appointment at the FC and all tests have been through your GP? Or is it your referral for the actual treatment? (sorry not been keeping up to date on BESH thread)

BrownB · 04/10/2011 18:37

Thanks. May have to try find my dusty old Swiss Ball. And then waffle on about it being a "birthing" ball. I wonder if I still have it...? Hmm

PerfectDromedary · 04/10/2011 19:14

Hello Sunshine. I almost made it as far as IVF, but somehow managed to drop the butter dish the month I was supposed to start all the drucks. Will help as much as possible til a proper IVFEsh arrives. Whaddya need? Also, buy the Zita West book. It's slightly hippified but has some good advice.

rocketleaf · 04/10/2011 19:28

Same as drom that why I asked where you are up to as I can advise re what to expect from first appointments etc. but not much re actually treatment. Although one of my best friends is having her second round right now. I think it differs from PCT to PCT but her first appointment for it was in a large group of couples and they took them through the procedures so I can go into what I know of that if you like?

InTheSunshine · 04/10/2011 20:14

Thanks ladies. We've had all the tests. Got a letter for next appt which isn't until December (on our wedding anniversary - nice!). From what our consultant said last time that's where we will officially get signed up. I've been reading the IVF Fred but if anyone can let me know any other stuff I'd appreciate a BESH view. Will the drugs make me moremental? How long will I have to take them for? Do I have to go to the FC to get prodded everyday & other such shit?! ( I don't know much as you can tell).

PerfectDromedary · 04/10/2011 20:23

I only got as far as being booked in for our information session, which is where they would have handed out the drugs and discussed the procedure...sorry, not all that helpful!
