MrsStevo · 10/07/2011 18:47

Right! I have uploaded a pic of me today ... looking MASSIVE! Note the 'outty' ... think it popped about 2 weeks ago now!

And I am VERY excited Klou! I just can't wait to meet these little bambinos now. Feels like I have been pregnant foreeeeever. Think I will miss feeling them wriggling around though - but would much rather have them wriggling around in my arms. This time in 3 weeks it will be my last night of not being a mum!!!! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

WinterLover · 10/07/2011 21:50

I'll upload a bump picture tomoro, although the one I've taken does me no justice as from the back I don't look pregnant Hmm

mrsS so pleased babies are doing well.

I shall try to catch up with everyone in the morning. I forgot how much you miss by been off for a few days.

alibaba76 · 10/07/2011 22:34

Having a shit day. Discovered stretch marks this morning and piles this evening. Anyone else with piles - question: can I just buy stuff over the counter or do I need different/special stuff cos of being pregnant?

MrsVidic · 11/07/2011 06:08

alibaba re the piles I'd get stuff prescribed- when e ver we feel or get something hanging out of our southern regions it always feels 10x bigger than it actually is- same as something in your mouth. They also go after the birth.
Re the stretch marks they fade quick too- if they're under your belly button they prob wont be visible in a bikini
I know u probably feel like ur body is letting u down but t
It's doing the opposite. X

KTisPG · 11/07/2011 08:39

Well, the Beckham's didn't use my girls name, how about your's [hgrin]???

aStarInStrangeways · 11/07/2011 09:07

Bump pic here if anyone's interested. That was a couple of weeks ago as I am 37 weeks at last, yay!

MrsS congratulations on booking your section date. 1st August is this LO's due date but I'm really hoping she decides to come a week early. I am a tired, grumpy monster and so ready to meet my baby now.

alibaba sympathies on the arsegrapes. I just used Anusol when afflicted following DS's birth, but do go to your doc if they're really bad. Don't suffer in silence! And (TMI) if you're worried about pooing, applying a little Vaseline around the affected area beforehand can help. Sorry, but I was so glad a friend gave me this tip Blush Grin

Rehune · 11/07/2011 11:46

1st August is my due date too Mrs S Can't wait to stop working (officially on 26th July) but not having to travel in from this friday.

Beckham's didnt use my baby name either KTisPG

Been having loads of Braxton Hicks contractions and they seem to be getting stronger every day. This might be TMI but after (now rare purely because of tiredness) session with DH on sunday morning they were killer and I thought for a second.....'Shit I haven't packed my bag, I need to dye my hair, crap crap crap'. This has now scared the bejesus out of DH. Which i find a little funny. But does the frequency of them mean that labour is near?

Went for a parenting class called Small Person, Massive Change or As 2 become 3 and it was really really good. Lots of focus on the dad and how life changes for you as a couple. The link is here. I think it's just in London but I really would recommend it. Have posted the link here www.as2become3.org/

Love the bumps ladies!! Any more nursery pics? Ours is getting there but not ready for a photoshoot yet - took DH 4 hours to put up blinds yesterday (the wrong way round Blush)

So how are you all sleeping? I'm basically wide awake until about 4.30 and then drift off as the sun comes up until my alarm goes off at 7. It's killing me and i'm so so grumpy! And tips? I think I just have lots of worries (mainly labour!) going round in my head which sets off the heartburn and I can't get off to sleep...I'm thinking I might attempt some hot milk with a dash of something stronger in it this evening to relax me - or is that a big no no? I've not been drinking much at all - maybe a glass of wine once a fortnight - but i don't know if a dash of brandy is taking it to another level?? I'm just so so desperate for a good nights sleep! Hmm

RugbyWidow7 · 11/07/2011 17:39

Wow everyone's been busy - it's only been a couple of days since I've been on but I've missed loads!

I've bought the last few baby clothes items today and just have a few remaining bits to get now (34+1). Plan to pack my bag this week (good to see all the lists) and maybe start the washing.

Thanks for all the various pieces of info.

SelinaDoula · 11/07/2011 22:51

Been away in Wales for a week. Had a row with DP which was horrible but things betteHad a lovely pregnancy massage and went swimming in the sea two days in a row.
Driven back to my flat for a few days, three hour commute getting very tiring now.
Went to pregnancy yoga and planning on a big baking session tomorrow.
Getting pains in my back tonight, this had better not be early labour as my DP has no transport, its 'meet the new teacher' day at DD's school tomorrow and I have the midwife coming over for a visit and my homebirth group!
I'm hoping on next week for the birth (but sod's law it will be 42 weeks now!)

MrsVidic · 12/07/2011 07:17

Hello All,

Well I had a horrible day yesterday. On my penultimate day of work I was at a meeting at head office- regarding some new HR policies we have to implement and I went dizzy and fainted- I just about recovered when I went over again before I could leave the room. This time I just couldn't recover- couldnt stand/ sit felt sick etc so they called me an ambulance.

As I was at my head office its in a different hospital catchement area so I was taken to a differenet hospital where I was monitored etc. Anyway fainting etc was due to low B/Pressure so that was fine, yet they measured me and said I was 32 cm - I am 36 + 5. They said I would need a scan as this was too small. My usual MW has never shown concern about this. So they booked me in for a scan today at my usual hospital.

I am very Hmm about why the level of concern/ care differs so much regarding this and now I'm worried as the mw at the hospital was not happy this has not been checked up before now. - Basically my bump has shrunk 1cm in the last week.

Does anyone know what will happen if the scan echoes this?

Oh yes Ive also been told to rest and aviod driving as I am constantly dizzy- which is going to be nearly impossible living in the counrtyside with a toddler!

littlemisslozza · 12/07/2011 10:17

Oh no MrsVidic that does sound like an awful day! SOunds like a good idea to be double checked at the hospital scan but hopefully there is nothing to worry about. My consultant says it is very hard to accurately size a baby from scans or bump measurements and they often get it wrong but better to be monitored than not. Hope it goes well. Good luck on the resting front too.... Wink, a friend of mine was given crutches for her SPD but absolutely no way of using them when chasing a toddler about, don't know what they're thinking sometimes!

Rehune · 12/07/2011 11:23

MrsVidic hope all goes well. Best to be sure although you will be fine. It's an unscientific way of measuring isnt it? Get as much as rest as you can. Hope the scan goes well. Thinking of you xx

MrsStevo · 12/07/2011 11:33

MrsVidic - What a hideous day. Poor you. You sound very calm about the bump-measurement though, I'd be in full panic mode - but that is my standard response to anything out of the ordinary now!! When is your scan? I have no experience of that (the bump measurement thing isn't done for twins, obviously) but a woman in my NCT class had a similar story. Without meaning to sound scaremongery at all - she had a bump measurement a couple of Mondays ago and they were concerned it was smaller than it should be so referred to hosp and she had a scan on the Wednesday and they made the decision to deliver the baby that afternoon. She was 35 weeks and her baby girl was absolutely fine. I haven't actually seen her since - just had a brief chat with her hubby - so I don't know the full ins and outs but from what he said the baby just wasn't developing as well as she should have been. Hope that isn't too much of a scary story for you, I suppose it helps to know what could potentially happen. Sorry if that's the last thing you wanted to hear. Let us know how you get on.

Annie - Sleep? What's that?? Haven't had a decent night for about a month now. I am the reverse of you though -I sleep until 4:30 (on the dot most nights!) and am then wide awake. I made it through til 5:30 yesterday (but hadn't got to sleep until about 1:30) and didn't get a chance for a nap yesterday..... ugh! Still it is "good preparation for what's to come" as every sodding smart-arse person keeps telling me.

All good in team twinny over here. I am 34 weeks today - HURRAH! I decided to paint a big tree on the nursery wall yesterday. I am REALLY not an artist at all but am quite pleased with the result.... although it isn't finished yet as I want to add a couple of parrots today! Just waiting for the postman to arrive and deliver some felt patches of jungle animals for me to sew onto the curtains in the nursery. I am loving the nesting phase! Although it has caused a few rows with DH who, bless him, works very hard all day and then gets squawked at the minute he walks in the door for not having put his shoes in the EXACT spot I have designated for them Grin

MrsVidic · 12/07/2011 14:03

Hi all back from the scan and baby is measuring fine so they are really happy shed be 6lb 2 oz if delivered today and puts me bang on for the same weight as dd! I'm so relieved, thanks! I'm celebrating with scones cream and jam!

JenniL1977 · 12/07/2011 14:04

MrsV - that's hellish. I hope you feel better soon, and that all is well with the LO.

I did hear an interesting statistic though, that 99% of babies born at 34 weeks have no problems at all - which is the same as being born at 40 weeks. I am using this to keep me calm.

Re bump pictures: I've got one up. KLou I don't believe you belong in this group, you're so neat! Is your baby actually due in November or something?? :) MrsS you've got two in there, we're virtually the same EDD and my bump is bigger. OMG, I knew that putting on 3 stone wasn't normal...

Not one bit of nesting going on here!
Nursery (if you can call our room where we do our clothes drying/box storage since we moved/place where baby stuff is being dumped in bags) - not done. Washing of baby clothes - not done. Hospital bag packing - not done. When am I going to get the instinct??! Or does this mean I'm just going to be a very relaxed mommy?!

35 weeks tomorrow!
Finish work a week today, whoop whoop!

JenniL1977 · 12/07/2011 14:05

Oops, X-post - MrsV - yay! That's ace. Good they're being cautious though. :)

CappuccinoCarrie · 12/07/2011 14:29

mrsV you poor thing! Really hope some rest is possible, and helps you feel better soon.

Our nursery won't be much to report when its finished, and that's several weeks off as its still a storage room for two old wardrobes that are being collected in a couple of weeks.

Saw the mw this morning for the first time in 9 weeks...she was running 20mins late by 9:15am Hmm. I expressed my concern about lack of weight gain and she had a good feel of the baby and said if anything it feels on the big side to her, and then she measured me at bang on 34cm and I'm 34+5 weeks, so although I know that's not desperately accurate, it was at least reassuring. Also my iron levels were borderline so she took my bloods again and gave me a list of iron rich foods - she actually drew my attention to the fact that plain chocolate digestives are good for me right now, I though of you mrsS!!

Slightly scared by the fact that real babies are going to start being born to people on this thread soon...!

RugbyWidow7 · 12/07/2011 16:18

Poor you MrsV I hope you are starting to feel better.

Just had my 34 week MW app and she seems to be a bit concerned about me measuring small but the measurement was 33-34cm and I'm 34+2. Sounds ok to me. She's asked me to come back in 2 weeks time in case.

I know what you mean Capp about the babies starting to be born - though 6 weeks still feels like a long time to me!

KLou111 · 12/07/2011 16:30

MrsS you look bloody gorgeous!!!!! Would never know you had 2 in there!!!!
Astar and Jenni you both look very neat to me too. Jenni LOVE your profile pic you gorgeous people you!

MrsV so sorry about your BP and fainting. Glad scan went well and baby is all well in there.

I don't know about any of you, but I think I am feeling more scared now about something going wrong than ever! I think it's cos you think you've got this far and what could possibly happen, it makes it worse!

Feeling absolutely shattered, and my eyes have been stinging all day. Had in-laws here this weekend and they left yesterday. Fell asleep at 9:30 last night, and got up at 8:30 barely able to open my eyes due to being woken up by not only being beaten from the inside, but needing a wee 5 times!
Had a busy day painting again, but not much left now. Wooden floor for lounge turned up today, got to sit for a week before DH can lay it, can't wait til next week now.

AN class tomorrow morning, DH said if it's as shit a last week he doesn't want to come to anymore, TBH I think I will think again too.
MW appt Thursday, 36 weeks eek!! Double appt this week so she can go through labour, very scared now that we will definitely have a new little person in no more than 6 weeks!

Hey MrsV great news. Really pleased for you. x

I can't wait to finish work. Decided I am not going to work through 38 weeks cos I am 37+2 now and am having the most awful day Toni Braxton Hicking all over the place during a quite important meeting. And I have awful song from the Trainline running through my head. You know the one that goes 'Choo choo choo, make savings with the trainline'? Ghastly.

DH and I going out to dinner tonight to a French place in Soho. Just going to enjoy a last spontaneous dinner out tonight

WinterLover · 12/07/2011 18:51

Ive put a bump picture up Grin

I attempted to put the cot up today, only to realise that some of the bolts etc are missing Hmm DP cant remember where he put the spares.....

Anu3 · 12/07/2011 19:10

MrsV so sorry about you fainting! Glad scan went well and all is well in there!

Loving all your bump pics - Everyone is looking gorgeous! Ill try and put mine up tomorrow!

Just got back from my scan - Im 36+4 today and bubba is head down but not engaged as yet! Everything looked fine and Im feeling good. Having a hard time sleeping though - was up at 3:20 am this morning and wide awake until 5:40 am!!!!! also whist i was sleeping the rest of the time i woke up about 6 times to wee :( Was knackered all day and so so sleepy! Its a good thing im working from home now - I had a nap at lunch time for about 45 mins!!

I need to buy some nursing bras this week - Any suggestions? Should i be buying a size bigger than I am now? Not sure how to go about this!

KLou111 · 12/07/2011 20:43

Anu you sound the same as me waking up and being knackered all day!
I got some nursing bras from Matalan at the weekend, they were £10 for 2 (1 black, 1 white) will get some others nearer the time, they are just for my 'bag'.
I am a 38D cup at the mo and have bought an F. My mum was with me and she said believe me, you'll need it. Good god, I'm normally a 36C!!!!
