Congratulations daisyair - beautiful name. Well done x x

JenniferYellowHatsRedLingerie · 30/08/2011 06:29

Hello ladies,
Just popping on to let you know that Elise Olivia Miraid was born on Sunday (28th) night at 11.07 weighing a bloody huge 9lb6.5!
I had to have a crash section due to a placental abruption, which was all v scary and surreal, not that I knew much about it; DH was terrified though for a while, but all is super now. She's just perfect although not keen on sleeping at night (but is of course sparko now :)) my CS wound is sore but I'm getting around, slowly.
I won't put my whole birth story up for a while as it's a bit shocking and I'm still trying to process it as well and I don't want anyone being scared, although it's unlikely it'll happen to you.
Congrats Carrie and daisyair!!
Come on you others, come join us :) xx

KTisPG · 30/08/2011 08:11

Congratulations Jen at least you're all ok. The NCT have a postnatal helpline if you need to talk to someone to help you work through what happened. Still no signs here.

littlemisslozza · 30/08/2011 09:57

Congratulations daisyair and jen. Sounds scary jen, at least she is here safe and sound now. I remember feeling sorry for DH when DS1 was born, all the trauma of his birth was happening to me and it was all a bit surreal but he had to stand and watch, helplessly. Hope you recover quickly.

CappuccinoCarrie · 30/08/2011 19:10

Congratulations daisy and jen!
DS2 has a name... Elliot Jonah :)
He's still totally gorgeous if a little screamy...my milk is nearly in though which I hope will help.

CappuccinoCarrie · 30/08/2011 19:10

And I've put a photo on my profile too, not that you can really see DS2 in it!

Annie456 · 30/08/2011 20:49

Congratulations carrie!!! cant see the pics in my phone but lovely name!

So are there any bumps left in the august thread??!! I think something might happen for me tonight, been getting increasingly painful BH and shooting pains today and have that feeling that it's all falling out! Either tonight or tomorrow is my prediction so I'll either have an Aug 31st baby or a 1st sept baby!! As long as he comes out safely I really don't care which school year he'll be in! He's been sleeping most of the day which made me panic and I just spent an hour waking him up with a combo of orange juice, iced water, frozen peas on the bump, bashing pots and pans and leaning the bump on the piano whilst playing really loud! I guess he's building up his energy reserves, he woke up in the end!!

By the way, my top tip for getting the baby to wake up is to have a bath and bang 2 pieces of metal together under the water-always makes the baby jump which I find hilarious!!

KTisPG · 30/08/2011 21:53

Hi Annie I'm still here and still pregnant. I don't think there are many of us left now. Wonder if we'll be allowed to stay in the postnatal geoup if we sneak into Septemner ;o)

neverlookback · 31/08/2011 02:00

Just a quickie to say willow ann arrived at 4.50am on 30th aug
10 days late after only 1.45hr of making it to hospital and 20 min in the pool she shot out I 1 push weighing a tiny 6lb 12oz (her bro was 10lb3oz) will post more of the birth details and catch up when I get home xxx

Annie456 · 31/08/2011 08:51

Congratulations never!! Another gorgeous name-I reckon our august club have the best beat named babies!!

I thought I was off last night...have been having super strong cramps since midnight, coming every half hour-kinda feels like someone is sticking a hot poker up there..I managed to get a few hours sleep after taking paracetamol and expected it to ramp up during the night but it hasn't...still have the cramps tho...is is possible that these cramps will go on for days or is it more likely that I'm in the last 24 hours?-they fucking hurt!!!!!!!

davidtennantsmistress · 31/08/2011 09:09

hi all,

wyatt Joseph was born sunday at 11.59 weight was 7lb 12 oz, he was v v sleepy likes to sleep on one of us/next to us esp of a night so co sleeping atm, feeding going well. DP is besotted with him (as am I). birth was so much better this time than last time, had a show at 1.30 ish am and thought waters had gone, went to hospital only to be sent away at 5 saying nope they hadn't gone was hind ones and was only 1 cm, I spent about 4 hours in the bath then and they got longer/more intense/urged to push so went back to the hospital about 10, examined again still had waters & was 3-4cm, was desperate not to go home as by now was in a lot more pain, got straight on the gas & air, 45 minutes later waters literally popped all over the floor, (scared the living hell out of me) and then just over an hour later I was fully dilated, and 3 pushes/9 minutes later he was born.

All the way I asked for an eppidural and kept being told no couldn't have it but now am glad I didn't. had a 2nd degree tear but still only local & gas/air to stitch up.

how's every one?

KTisPG · 31/08/2011 09:29

Congratulations DTM and Never lovely names.

Annie it sounds to me like you're in early labour. My what to expect book says if they don't stop when you move about then they are probably real contractions. Still nothing here. Do you think we're really the only ones left??

JenniferYellowHatsRedLingerie · 31/08/2011 21:26

Just wanted to say hi Annie and KT :) hope you're alright!
Just come and chat on the postnatal thread if you're lonely? Noone's going to mind.
Annie, I reckon you're on your way, I had 4 hours of contractionsbefore the section and it sounds similar. Fuck me it hurt.
You keep going for your hb KT, good work. Hope it is all fab for you and you go soon enough.
Lots of love to you, won't be long now, see you on the other side! Xx

hhg · 01/09/2011 11:27

Annie456 · 02/09/2011 16:46

She was amazed that i kept saying i couldn't really feel it so hoping that bodes well for labour...heading home with a chicken madras to eat tonight...oh PLeASe let the sweep work!!!!!!!!! HmmHmmHmmHmm

KTisSTILLpg · 02/09/2011 17:03

Good luck Annie

All good news from my monitoring appointment earlier - baby fine, good fluid levels, placenta healthy and consultant and consultant mw very supportive. The DC are at a sleepover at SIL today so DH and I are off out for curry. Hope it works as I'm SOOOO over being pregnant.

LifeOfKate · 02/09/2011 20:58

Aww, still thinking of you Annie and KT, not long now hopefully xx

Teladi · 02/09/2011 21:38

Thinking of those still waiting!

I'm sorry I went AWOL. Harriet Lyra was born on August 26th, the day before her due date. We had an interesting time of it - my aim was for a water birth but we ended up with an assisted delivery as H was malpositioned and we also had some problems after the birth... I won't go into too much detail at this point. We got home three days later and are both now very well :)

KTisSTILLpg · 02/09/2011 22:01

Congratulations Teladi, glad youre both ok.

neverlookback · 03/09/2011 13:02

Ive just had chance to sit down and put down my birth story for anyone who is still waiting to spur you on that its gonna be u any day now, i quite enjoyed reliving it! but its a bit long winded sorry!!

i had really bad backache for 2 days and a bit of a show on the sunday, i had a sweep on mon morn with more show and on/off contractions during the day and was getting v excited and scared! but they stopped at night so i went to bed at 9pm, when dp came up at 10.30 i got up for a wee and they stared again i tried to sleep but couldnt so i went downstairs on the ball and walking around and then rang the hospital to check if i should go as they were still irregular but 45-60 sec long and i needed the anti biotics for strepb, she said have a hot bath, so i got in the bath at 1am and then after 10 min i had a whopper and shot out the bath and woke dp up and said we had better get my parents round! the contractions were getting really strong in the car i had my tens mc on when we got to hospital it took me ages to get in cos i had to keep stopping having them, so glad it was 2 am and only a few people saw me!! mw examined me at 2.45 and i was 4cm but i warned her it would go really fast as it did with ds,she said i should have the iv antibiotics so she put a horrible canula in the side of my hand and i had two bags which too an hour to get in, i was on gas and air and the contractions were really strong, every other min for a min, she had to sqeeze the anti biotics in to speed them up it was agony. Then she said i could get in the birth pool, i was so glad she agreed i could as the two mw before had said no so in i got and within 30 min i started to feel the need to push a bit at the end of each contraction, i kept saying "im going to have it soon" and the mw just kept saying "lets hope so" she was still sat on her chair reading something when i had a contraction my waters popped and i said "its coming" she still didnt get off her chair, and i pushed and Willow shot out under the water and the mw shot off her chair to come and get her out and lift her upto me, so i was only in the water for about 40 min, i didnt have the injection to get the placenta out, i sat on a stool thing and it came out after 16 min so was fine.
We had to stay in 2 nights as Willow couldnt keep her temp up at first and had to go on a heat pad, and her heart rate was a little slow, we were really worried it was to do with the strep b and the fact i did not get the anti biotics in long enough before delivery so the did some blood tests but there was no infection, she just took a little longer to get going.

Im breastfeeding which ive never done before and its going really well, was hard work at first to get her to latch on but there was a fantastic mw who really helped me and staying in an extra night prob really helped even tho i hated it and it was so horrible for my other dc's.

her big sis and bro adore her and dp has been being fantastic but he has to work sun and mon morns so im a bit scared about being left on my own so soon with 3 but im gonna have to get used to it.

RugbyWidow7 · 03/09/2011 19:24

Hello ladies, sorry for the radio silence over the last week, we've been kept quite busy!

Congratulations to everyone who has had their babies. I'll come back soon to read through all the details.

Just dropping in to announce that our beautiful baby boy arrived on 27th August at 7.37am. He came into the world after a sweep followed by an arduous 26hr labour the next day. Being a Mummy is wonderful!

Back soon!

KTisSTILLpg · 03/09/2011 21:48

Congratulations Rugby

Annie hope you've graduated!

Still pregnant and now very fed up
