More new people!
Welcome!

So this morning I feel really sick. Cooked a spinach omelette, the smell was vile. But I ate it and it was LUSH Grin

AND!

The tarp worked! I flat packed 6 cardboard boxes and put them on the roof of the chicken house (for sound insulation), covered the whole lot with a double tarp and the squawking little bitches stayed in bed til 6.30! Happy days. I love them again now.

Who was it that said they are waiting to live in a more rural area before keeping chooks? I live in London on the Central line, my garden is tiny, if you want to do it's it's possible Grin

I really, really don't want to work on Sunday. I want a day off. But alas, the bills do keep coming.

ShaggingProducesResults · 14/07/2011 10:24

Hurrah! The chicken issue is resolved :)
Very impressed that you manage to keep chickens in London though....

Feeling pretty tired this morning but the yoga class was good and I'm pleased that I'm getting in the exercise (even if it tires me out!!)

Last day in the office for the week today (tomorrow I've got a morning conference to minute... Zzzzzzz and then I am going to sneak off early to go to Bicester Village on my way up North work from home in the afternoon!

Wearing my massive heels today as the MD is ver ver ver short and a bully. So far he's appologiesed to me twice this morning and looks very scared. Maybe the heels of fear should become a regular part of my work wardrobe from now on!!!

pommedechocolat · 14/07/2011 11:10

So I had an early scan today at 5 + 6 and via the internal camera 'fanny cam' they saw one little bean with a heartbeat. Measuring just 2.8mm. Feeling very reassured.
We have actually been refering to this one as 'number two' which isn't really very flaterring. Maybe it'll have to be 'bean' too.
Good news on the chickens pixel and good news on the nasty md shagging!

pixelpeeper · 14/07/2011 11:19

great news pommedechocolat! but please be aware that the actual camera name you are referring to is a bit more scientific - it is called 'dildo-cam'.
or clam-cam?
Blush

Mine has no name, but I do like 'the creature'.
I think mine shall be 'parasite'.

Binky55 · 14/07/2011 11:33

Well I'm 6 weeks and still have no major symptoms. My left boob was very tingly last night though! Got my app for booking in with midwife in 2 weeks & scan is on 23rd aug. Guess it will be more real after the scan. Don't feel preggers at all, not that I mind not feeling sick but at least with that u can't forget ur pregnant!

Weight is slowly creeping on but I think that's because I cancelled weight watchers! Still had 7lbs of baby weight to loose plus the 2 stone I put on before I got preg the 1st time!! Jesus knows how fat I'm gonna get this time round!!

Hope everyone is doing ok & not feeling too sick Smile

pommedechocolat · 14/07/2011 12:14

dildo-cam - I see. It did have a bell end now I think of it.
I was also waiting for her to push it in 'properly' Blush

pixelpeeper · 14/07/2011 13:53

LOL

BitsyVonMuffling · 14/07/2011 14:08

I had early scans last time round and thankfully never had to endure the didlo cam. I do have a very poorly feeling tummy today though :( Not nausea, but I feel like I'm coming down with the horrid virus that's going around dp's work atm. I couldn't sleep for feeling I needed to keep running to the loo Blush
Apart from that, I don't feel pregnant at all, just run down. WHich may in fact amount to the same thing Hmm

stuffthenonsense · 14/07/2011 15:30

I haven't got a name for mine either, feeling like a mean mummy now.
I bumped into a lady yesterday wearing a daisybirthing t-shirt. Asked her for more info-seems like its natural birthing/yoga type stuff to begin at 14weeks. Sounds good! Turns out she is also a midwife- working on a one to one basis, no need for hospital appts unless I want them/there is a problem. Even scans are done! And not in hospital. I am terrified of hospitals, especially since DD4s birth.
She is coming to my house next week to give me more information.
I have been more than nauseous now for 3 days, feels positive.

pomme poor you with the dildocam, I think I would be very very embarassed but YAY that baby is doing well. I cannot wait to see my little one.

withoutanet · 14/07/2011 16:48

Hello all...happy to hear the news of good scans. And very impressed with the Heels of Fear. I want a pair.

babydust we went in for the early scan at what we thought was 8 weeks only to find out during the scan that I was only 6 weeks. (was hoping to find out that I was further along, not less!!) Today I'm somewhere about 6 + 4.

Tired at work. And munching non-stop on the amazing home-baked treats that our receptionist made...sausage rolls, mini quiches and lemon cheesecake, oh my! Definitely keeping the Creature happy. Now I just need to find a nice corner where I can curl up like a cat for a nice long snooze.

Reallea · 14/07/2011 17:37

Six weeks today! Might even pluck up the courage to text the midwife and organise a booking in visit.... Wierdy felt fine about contacting the doc early but been resisting the call to the midwife as didn't want to jinx anything.

On third day of cripling nausea and exhaustion. Also concerned that I have had waaaaay more cramps than I ever had previously ( did not notice any cramping with previous pg until about 12 weeks- and surely if they are ligament pains they should hurt lessthe second time round?) so anyway I can't help thinking maybe twins?

MrsCog · 14/07/2011 18:39

Had a bit of a worrying afternoon - more spotting but more of it and it's much darker brown. Made Appt for tomorrow morning with gp, really hoping I get an early scan but if not think I'm going to pay for one. Sorry for slightly miserable post!

Reallea · 14/07/2011 18:57

Oh mrscog sorry to hear that... do you think it's worth just going direct to a&e who will just refer you to the epu in your hospital? As gp will surely have to refer you which will take time...

ShaggingProducesResults · 14/07/2011 19:02

Mrs Cog. My advice would be the same. Pop to your A&E department to avoid the referral wait. Hope it's all ol.

MrsCog · 14/07/2011 19:15

So if I went to a&e tonight what would happen? I think the emu is closed until the morning - would it mean I could go first thing?

ShaggingProducesResults · 14/07/2011 19:17

I'm not sure but it's worth a try. They will probably give you an appointment first thing.

ShaggingProducesResults · 14/07/2011 19:26

Or look up your EPU opening times and get there first thing. Mine is open for scans from 8-9am for women between 6 and 14 weeks. Done on a first come first served basis.

babydust27 · 14/07/2011 20:22

Ring A&E and ask what the process is.

If you dont want to wait have a look at a private scan, theres a company here that does scans until midnight at late notice for an extra £10

Thinking of you

Is there still a stats thing going on? Think I may have missed a few days worth of chat. Anyway, I'm not sure how to do the stats thing but I think mine are:

SantaLucia(35)due 2nd March with second child.

Sorry that doesn't seem to look right. I think there was also somebody requesting interesting details? I have two freckles on the sole of my foot which is kind of freaky.

Symptoms? I wake up feeling like I have the worst hangover ever. I feel better when I'm eating - particularly white bread, bananas (which I normally hate) and eggs (gee, great for the figure). I keep crying at the various Disney films I am forced to watch with DD. I've also had a really dodgy tummy but this maybe because I started chain eating lemon sweets to counter nausea feelings and then found out that the lemon sweets contain a laxative. Ooops.

Haven't told the doctor yet, waiting until 8 weeks (not sure why this random date). I will probably have an elective C-section as had to have an emergency one with first DC. So that may push my date back to Feb. Very confusing. I'm just going to stick with March!

Anyway, hello from me and looking forward to hearing more from everyone.

MrsCog · 14/07/2011 20:37

Hi SantaLucia :)

Thanks everyone for the advice etc - DH just got home from work, going to discuss with him. Will update tomorrow. Thanks again, you're all great :)

SantaLucia · 14/07/2011 20:45

MrsCog, I had lots of brown spotting with DC1. It was at 5 weeks and then again at 9 weeks. I ignored it at 5 weeks and then went for an early scan at 9 weeks. Everything was ok. I hope its the same for you. Will keep my fingers crossed. x

BitsyVonMuffling · 14/07/2011 21:30

I had brown spotting at 6 weeks with ds, and then much redder at 9 weeks. Both times a referral for a scan took a day or two, and both times it was fine :) Fingers firmly crossed for you x
I am having a bizarre urge to clean. Like nesting, but oooooo about 8 months early. I have an irrational need to organise things. And I have spied the perfect cot locally for a ridiculous price but I just can't buy it so early. Can I?

ZhenXiang · 14/07/2011 23:57

Hi everyone,

MrsCog - if you are at all worried for your own peace of mind contact the EMU in the morning, hoping everything will be fine with you and bean x

Booked in with GP yesterday, she reckons I am due 4th of March not the 2nd, but NHS calculator and others say 2nd March. Either way baby will come around my birthday so he/she will be the best present I could ever wish for :)

She also told me that I have a heart murmur so is referring me for an ultrasound to check my heart just in case I have a problem that hasn't been picked up before. Could be the increased blood volume though so I will just have to wait and see.

Santa Lucia - I had EMCS with DD, but was told I could VBAC this time round because DD could have been birthed naturally, but got her head stuck. If you don't mind me asking what were the reasons for your EMCS and have you discussed all the options with your midwife?

stuffthenonsense · 15/07/2011 05:09

Mrscog-hope you got some sleep and all is well this morning.
Zhen, wow! Youy get so far through life, including pregnancy, and NOW they pick up a heart murmer. Bizarre

Bitsy, I too have an insane nesting type thing goiing on, coupled with being easily knackered, its not really a good combination.
Who was it who thought twins? I will join you in that feeling. Stretching, a bfp 2 weeks before any I've had before, sickness 2 weeks before I've ever suffered and I am completely sure of my dates. That would be interesting! And I'd have to buy a mini bus.

And finally, been up-to-pee 4 times tonight, nasal congestion is bugging me and I have backache. So I am sitting downstairs mourning sleep. Have this morning discovered the difficulty of running from the kitchen to the bathroom feeling sick when there is a safety gate on kitchen, bottom of stairs and top of stairs (sigh)

broodylicious · 15/07/2011 08:31

WAHOOOOOOO! I got a BFP on Wednesday night! It will be our first. Due March 23rd, so very early days but v v v v excited!!

So, what do I need to do now?! We've been ttc for about 7 months but I'm not sure exactly what the next steps are in terms of doctors? What happens now?!
