So sorry some people are feeling ill. It's not kicked in for me yet, but I know from bitter experience that it's just round the corner and stocked up on ginger today. I am just exhausted. Like proper, mid-morning need a nap tired. But chance would be a fine thing Hmm. I have no idea how i am going to entertain my 2 in the long holiday. My parents are coming down for 2 weeks nearby in the summer and tbh dp and I hae talked about not telling them til after the scan, which I guess will be sometime in September, but we may just have to tell them so they can take the 2dc for a few days out nd give me a break. It's all coming back to me now- THIS is why I put on so much weight in pregnancy. It's so hard to push through the tiredness.
I'm a regular helper at our NCT sale and our scan should be a few weeks before our next one so I'm looking forward to stocking up on maternity clothes and equipment on the cheap :)

pixelpeeper · 12/07/2011 14:53

all these new people!
HELLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

I am super grumpy - I work a 9-5 (yawn) and I run my own business on weekends that usually keeps me in pretty good pocket money, but not enough to pay the bills, has suddenly got MAD BUSY. 3 weeks ago I would have been over the moon but since it is very tiring and physical when I am feeling A1, it's going to kill me.

I am not really suffering too many symptoms aside from looking 5 months gone. That said, I looked 4 months gone when I'm not pg so can't complain.

stuffthenonsense · 12/07/2011 15:14

Pixel I too 'look' pregnant already and waistbands are increasing the nausea, so sorted through my old maternity stuff yesterday to see if there's anything suitable.
And I am soooo tired, just driven for a while to get DD4 to have a snooze and I am parked up on the prom to have a little in-car nap myself.

The nappies that never bothered me before are making me sick.
I am feeling in real need for bacon! Nice and salty with a crispy bit of fat.

Reallea · 12/07/2011 16:13

Aaaaaarghhhh....... Been feeling like poo all day long...... Not actually thrown up but constant nausea all day.... At home looking after poxy DS so managed to sleepwhen he did... But at work tomorrow so not looking forward to that.....

LaurenLaverne · 12/07/2011 16:23

Hello everyone!
Can I join? I have just found out im pregnant with my first. DP has a son and daughter already. Im 31.
I have just come home from my GPs, she was lovely. Im feeling a bit thick now cos I just realized I told her my LMP wrong by a week!
Do you think I should ring the surgery and get them to correct it?
My EDD is 10/03/12 (but the GP has it down as 17/03/12 due to me being dozy!)

pommedechocolat · 12/07/2011 17:32

Hello to all!
I am sleepy and very very emotional and weepy. Wept all evening on and off last night. No sickness though which I'm half enjoying as I hated it last time and half worried about in case it's a bad sign. Never happy hey!
Another one with a suddenly big tummy and enormous boobs as well. Figure belly is probably just gas as I am very farty!
Anyone else with wind?!

MrsCog · 12/07/2011 19:16

Had brown spotting this afternoon, obv worrying a lot and can't find much reassuring advice - has this happened to anyone else?

Reallea · 12/07/2011 19:42

I had brown spotting at 8 weeks with DS. Mum said she had it too with my brother. Fingers crossed.

BitsyVonMuffling · 12/07/2011 19:45

MrsCog I had spotting like that with my ds. They gave me an early scan to check, so it'a worth seeing if your GP can refer you to an early pregnancy unit. It's surprisingly common, but it doesn't stop the worrying.

stuffthenonsense · 12/07/2011 20:10

mrscog, i had it with DD4 at 9 weeks and again at 12, oh the panic and tears! had scans both times and she was (clearly) fine. i know (if you are anything like me) you will only worry about it though and stress will make you feel even worse and will lead to further worries so its best to go to a+e (my gp told me to go there as there was nothing he could do anyway) and they will reassure you and probably book a scan. if nothing else you get to see your tiny little baby! i have framed my 9 week scan of DD4 as it was such a relief to see that she was ok.

pomme i am not particularly gassy but i am jumping from diarrhoea to constipation with nothing normal inbetween lol i am still getting niggly little pains in my belly, no longer sure if its growing uterus or bowel Blush

my other 'issue' is quite literally that..i dont remember this much discharge in previous pregnancies, its clear and unoffensive but i have taken to liners its so much Blush Blush

on a more positive and happy note, i bought 'the yummy mummy pregnancy cookbook' from amazon last week, so far every recipe has been delicious and nothing has turned my stomach (yet) the portion sizes are 'balanced' (big) but i am not snacking anymore so it will balance out. a definate recommend!

MrsCog · 12/07/2011 20:20

Thanks everyone, I'm trying not to worry - it's very light brown and not very much of it. I suppose I'm a bit sceptical of going to GP/A&E as I'm only 5+5 tomorrow and I don't think they'll really be able to help.

My cramps aren't any worse than normal either (have had almost constant mild cramping/stomach stretching since BFP).

Just another horrible waiting game...!

On stomach troubles, I am very bloated and not 'going' much, which probably isn't helping.

ZhenXiang · 12/07/2011 20:38

Try not to worry MrsCog, I had light brown spotting with DD and at the beginning of this one too. The light cramps are probably your uterus stretching, I am having those too. Try lactulose (can buy over counter or get on prescription) if the constipation gets too bad it stops those lovely piles developing if you can stay regular.

Another one looking big - look how I did at 4 months with DD. Am going shopping once term ends for new maternity clothes as gave all mine away to SIL who had baby 9 months after DD and she has passed them onto my niece who is due in October.

ShaggingProducesResults · 12/07/2011 20:49

Evening all

MrsCog sorry to hear that the spotting is stressing you out. I'm afriad that I am not much help as this is my 1st too but I am sure that it is very normal to be worried and that from everything that I've heard the spotting is quite normal too. If it is really worrying you then go to A&E. So what if you're only 5+5, they may be able to put your mind at rest.

I've had stomach troubles today 'going' too much! It seems to have settled down now though so I should be back in the office tomorrow... lucky me!!

In terms of obvious signs, my boobs have got bigger and actually look better than they have for years - result! bt they hurt like hell if I don't have some form of support and so my yoga bras have been relegated to sleepwear! Other than that it's impossible to notice any change in my body. I think I've actually lost a bit of weight too thanks to the nausea/diarrhoea. No doubt I'll pack it back on but am hoping to avoid becoming big too soon!

For those of you who are o your 2nd/3rd/4th would it be rude of me to ask how much weight you put on with your 1st? I am curious as to what is considered "normal". tell me to sod off if I'm being nosey

BitsyVonMuffling · 12/07/2011 22:14

I am a bad example. I put on close to 4 or 5 stone both times Blush. I am determined not to this time, though it may be out of my control. I'm hoping not.
Another with a dodgy tum here too Blush Dp was just laying with his head on my lap and said it sounded like someone blowing bubbles underwater. How romantic.

ZhenXiang · 12/07/2011 22:23

Think I put on about a stone and a half, but was walking on average 6 miles a day right up until the end and didn't pig out too much unless it was mint choc chip ice cream Grin.

This time round I am going to the gym so that I can keep active running after my toddler and also to try and sort out my abs which are completely shot after the EMCS I had with DD.

Have also been having a more active gut than usual, I thought progesterone was meant to slow down your bowel movements due to the smooth muscles becoming more relaxed??

Reallea · 12/07/2011 22:37

Phew I'm glad someone else started, so now i can be honest too... I put on 4 and a half stone. That said, I got pregnant first time round on honeymoon so I was looking thinner than normal for the wedding, having done weightwatchers and running 10k about four times a week. So I'd say half a stone of what i put on was just me getting to where I should have been - which would have happened anyway. I am now a stone heavier than I'd been because I haven't made the effort to lose the last bit of weight knowing that I was planning to have number two at some point and didn't see the point in going through all that pain just to put it back on again! Hopefully I'll put on less this time round....

Reallea · 12/07/2011 22:38

No word from babydust for a while... You still there?

pommedechocolat · 12/07/2011 22:42

I put on two stone and would like to repeat that. different though as was working hard in busy office and now spend three days at home with my head in the fridge.

Mrscog - they can scan at 5 plus 5 I am being scanned at 5 plus 6 on thurs.

stuffthenonsense · 13/07/2011 06:32

I can't remember weight with the older ones as it was so long ago. I remember my bumps being huge though.
With DD4 though I vomitted throughout, so much, that on the morning she was born I was 400g heavier than myt pre pregnancy weight, which meant a net loss of 10k, despite a 4.5k baby!
Wonder if I could do that again as I am not skinny at size 16/18.

MrsCog · 13/07/2011 09:14

Very little spotting over night and it's still only very very pale brown. Trying to keep calm. Will go to GP if it's still going on in a couple of days. On the 'plus' side, so tired this morning!

ShaggingProducesResults · 13/07/2011 10:05

Hmmm it looks pretty varied then on the wieght gain. I am etermined to try and keep it reasonabley low (you all have permission to laugh at me and remind me of this when I pull a Mila Jovovich and gain 5 stone!!!!)

Back in the office today. Am a bit crampy and so madly gusset checking every time I go to the loo (quite frequently!!) Am hoping that it might be my uterus stretching but have a feeling it's a bit soon for that.....

Being Diffed has made me so paranoid!!!

pixelpeeper · 13/07/2011 14:19

Shagging - it MIGHT be your uterus stretching, but more likely is your hormone changes are preparing your ligaments.

Early cramping pains are usually:
implantation (but we are past that)
ligaments stretching/relaxing

2nd/3rd/4th timers etc will find they get bigger quicker - which is an arse, innit

ShaggingProducesResults · 13/07/2011 14:43

Aaaaah! That would make sense!

Just been for a sleep in my car which was lovely but I didn't want to get up and come back into the office!! Think I might have been busted thought as I had a little crease on my cheek!!!

Only another 2 hourrs to survive though - thank God. Am going to treat myself to something yummy for supper. Thinking a steak and lots of veggies.... YUM!! :)

NorthernGirlie · 13/07/2011 14:52

Hey - is anyone else unbelievably tired at the min?? My OH has been 'joking' that I'm sleeping for 2! I could happily put my head on my desk and have a little snooze! xx

pixelpeeper · 13/07/2011 14:58

northerngirlie yes hear hear on the tired. Unfortunately the bone-crippling tiredness is normal.
It's also shit if you have to (a) look after existing children (b) go to work (c) both.

Especially as my bastard chickens were up at 4 am (which means so was anyone in a 20m radius) .

And I have to work 6 days a week until the end of August. But that's my own fault, I could turn down the work but I like the money.
