Found out on sunday that were expecting our first baby in march!! Some online due date calculators say the 8th and some say the 10th so im not quite sure which one is right!!

Ive got my 1st doctors appointment tomorrow to confirm things

Has anyone else got the BFP and wants to celebrate?

daydreamdolly I'm showing too (I think, hard to tell cos I never really lost DS's weight Confused) I can't wait for my scan but it's 2.5 weeks away still.

flip have a lovely holiday!

makka great news on scan :)

ShaggingProducesResults · 24/08/2011 13:39

I have a retroverted uterus too. I'm 11+4 so guess there is still plenty of time for it to right itself! It probably explains why I'm not showing yet and why I have back pain.....Have a lovely holiday. I'm off tomorrow for 10 days and now that I am starting to feel more human I really can't wait! My cousin who is coming with us is 26 weeks and so it'll be nice to have someone to stay sober with whilst the others hit the wine!!!

ARTHURSFIRST · 24/08/2011 17:10

Hi this is my first message..i'm rather excited about these groups...
This is my first expereince of pregnancy and i'm very excited!! I had my first scan on the 15th Augs its was amazing to see what ws going on in my tum and ws shoked at how developed the baby looked!! Got to say the midwife questions was a bit too much for me and i kinda fainted ha think it was all the excitement and lack of sleep the night before that didnt help!!
The scan date said the baby is due on the 5th but they've gone with the date of my last m cycle so thats the 10th March... on count down now!! Sickness is going and the bump is growing.. exciting times :)

ShaggingProducesResults · 24/08/2011 17:38

Welcome Atthur. Im also due on 10th so looks like we're date twins!

The scans are amazing aren't they? I was surprised at how much I could see!

MakkaPakkasWilly · 24/08/2011 21:35

I want a due date twin!

Welcome new people, the forums are fab, I met my best friend in the June 2007 mn ante natal group so you are in the right spot for happy news, sad news, questions, giggles and making new friends!

Flip, have a fab holiday!
Apols to people I have missed, I have the memory of a sieve right now and I can't scroll to check as my phone would shit itself

KittyRogue · 25/08/2011 09:24

Urgh. Was feeling so good yesterday so of course over did it. Got home to discover ants and flying ants had invaded the living room :( so had to Hoover hump those little blighters up. Was then sick (no reason, body just decided to vom)
Went onto make dinner and had to also bake for a cake thing at work (which I'm now missing) so was knackered!!!

So got up for work this morning and thought better of it. I hope my energy levels return soon!

Hope everyone is well!

ARTHURSFIRST · 25/08/2011 09:25

kirsty12321 · 25/08/2011 15:53

I want a due date win too makka :( maybe If they change my due date today I'll get one :)

KittyRogue · 25/08/2011 20:07

How did it go Kirsty?!

kirsty12321 · 25/08/2011 21:57

Fantastic! Theres a little baby in there, a real one!! It kept turning round to face the screen and looked very strange face on! It felt like I was watching a video of someone else's baby at first, didn't quite believe it was the baby inside me! :) I'm all shaky now I've got home, i think it's sunk in that in gonna be a mummy!

Changed my due date to the 3rd march so will update stats when I get on a proper computer!

How you feeling today kitty?!

JoZambia · 26/08/2011 09:48

So nice that everyone is getting their scans, it really is amazing to see. I had a quick scan on Tuesday and couldnt believe how much nugget moved! I went for the dating scan the next day, this dr wasnt as nice as the other one, barely said 2 words to us. Anyway there i am on the bed looking at the screen and all i can see is this great big black hole with nothing in it, I am just thinking where the f**k is my baby?? I had a few seconds of sheer panic and terror before i realised he was looking at my bladder (duh!) I now have a picture of baby and a picture of my bladder stuck to my fridge.

Shagging, Arthur I am also due on 10th March.

KittyRogue · 26/08/2011 17:58

Yay!! Kirsty!!! Glad it went so well!!!
I'm alright thanks, managed to go into work and show my face, how much use I was is another question... Have a three day weekend by myself as hubster is working for it. Hey ho. But the good news is that his project should end next Friday!!!

I am maternity clothes shopping this weekend I have decided, here's hoping I can find some stuff!!

Hope you all have a great long weekend!!!

ILoveMyDragon · 26/08/2011 19:11

I keep forgettin I'm on this and haven't checked it for ages!!

Got my bookin appt on Sunday which is scary and scan 6th sept! Symptoms kinda gone which was scaring the hell outta me a bit but when I nearly collapsed for no reason in a shop today I Was strqngely reassured!!! And of course the EXTREME exhaustion is still around!

Can't wait for the scan just won't believe it till then! and be a relief to tell everyone!!

Any advice on cheaper maternity bras? I am big anyway and struggle as it is but all the maternity bras I have looked at have been £30+ which I am loathe to pay for when I'm sure I will keep getting bigger!! I've actually bought some cheap bikini tops which are very comfy but not the greatest support in the world!

10+6!

ZhenXiang · 26/08/2011 19:43

Hi Ilovemydragon glad you are ok after your collapse, I find it useful to always have sweet snacks to hand as can get a bit faint myself if I go too long without food.

I bought these in two sizes when pregnant with DD, I found I didn't get too much bigger than the size I was in the first trimester until right near the end. I stayed in the bigger size for the first few months of breastfeeding and then went down to the smaller size again which lastest me until she stopped at 22 months. I am now 13 weeks and can wear the smaller ones again as they are still in good nick despite the years of wearing. They may be expensive in the short term, but they do last.

ILoveMyDragon · 26/08/2011 19:49

Ahhh thanks Zhen! £25 for 2 is much more what I was looking at paying, I am happy to pay if I know it will last and I will be able to wear them throughout!

Well I just sat down on the floor until I recovered - read a few kiddies magazines to look 'normal'!!

Reallea · 26/08/2011 19:59

Hey all sorry for the long silence, been able to read but not update easily. Been on hols in West Country and just home for a couple of nights to have scan and then off again but this time off East to see family in Suffolk. Added to having been to to see DH's parents up in Lancashire a few weeks ago and plans in 2 weeks to go to Brighton for a wedding, am really feeling like we've done the tour of Britain this summer (or whatever we chose to call it-springtum? Cos it does seem like a season has been missed out here).

So scan was this morning and I had to get up and jump about a few times before they could get to the nuchal fold but apart from that, all was good and I just wept through most of it because I was so relieved to see a heartbeat again. Date was changed when I had 8 week scan and has been confirmed at 4th March. But am still counting as from LMP so today I am 12+1.

Am thinking of zebedee daily. Words can not express.

laabama · 27/08/2011 12:04

Oh, that's so nice to see about everyone's scans. Mine's still 2 1/2 weeks ago. Really looking forward to it in some ways (hopefully this will finally feel properly 'real') but am also a bit freaked out by the reference in the letter to 'checking for structural abnormalities' (sounds a bit like studying an old builiding) and 'check to see how many there are...' Up until now I've always thought I'd like to have twins but now there's a chance of it being a reality, I've rather gone off the idea!!!! :) Fingers crossed for 1 structurally-sound, healthy heartbeat !

Was also going to ask about bras! Mine are beginning to feel a bit uncomfortable but I don't know whether it's too early to buy maternity ones (being new to this game!). I think I'm 10+3 today (by LMP at least). Is that too soon?? Should I wait another few weeks? I'm completely clueless when it comes to maternity stuff so don't know if they allow any more room for further expansion??

ARTHURSFIRST · 28/08/2011 17:30

Hi everyone ...been feeling all over he place the last couple of days...having dizzy moments and feeling like rubbish...think my hormones are all over the place Big Time, and i thought i was on the road to normality!!!! Sat i woke up full of energy and then had a moment when i thought i was either going to be sick or faint so headed to the bathroom and laid on the floor till i felt better!!!! I then discovered that i cant fit into my jeans and all my leggings were in the wash... i was in a right state for some reason as didnt know what to wear!!

ILOVEMYDRAGON I found sainsburys a good place for none wired bras £6.00 nice colours and really comfy and well supportive. I went to town today to try and get some new clothes and went to the maternity sections i found tho that i wasnt big enough for them yet but the other clothes wouldnt have fitted me either as the rest of me hasnt grown just the bump...left with nothing and decided to wait a bit.. i think i will be heading for the safety pins!!! Sorry for my grumpy post but does anybody else have moments like this?!!!!

ILoveMyDragon · 28/08/2011 18:09

Thanks Arthur! I will look!
And as doe how your feeling I'm totally with you there!! I haven't actually been gettin any morning sickness just the extreme exhaustion and the past week I have been having lightheaded spells more just have to take it easy! I am also finding my jeans far too tight and the new leggins I bought the other day turn out to be on the wrong peg so are a 14 not a 16 so my new purchase to see me thro a little further turns out to be a total failure!!
Hope you feeling better soon!!

ILoveMyDragon · 28/08/2011 18:13

Oh and the back ache - the ridiculous backahce this early on doesn't give me much hope for the next 6 months!!

Gingersnap88 · 28/08/2011 19:07

I find this thread so reassuring, I'm glad I'm not the only one having dizzy spells. I fainted in the kitchen whilst doing the roast earlier which wasn't fun.

Am looking forward to 12 week scan next Saturday, although a little nervous. This id normal right?

Had an odd booking appointment with my midwife. I went with my mum as DP was working and the midwife was being a bit funny and awkward with me through some of the paperwork. Eventually she asked me if I knew who my baby's father was Angry to which I replied "yes, my fiancé! Who is listed on all of the paperwork etc". At this point she went all quiet and red before saying that due to DP's name (can be a man or a woman's name) she assumed he was a she and that I must have used a donor. She then said she'd write MR on all his paperwork which I thought was a bit off, just because she had assumed that I was gay! Blimey.

Sorry, had to tell someone!

NotFromConcentrate · 29/08/2011 14:09

Hi :)

I've been on the "Brewing a March baby" thread, but thought I'd come and say hello here too Grin

I'm 11+4 with baby number 3, and had my dating scan last Wednesday. I'm back in a fortnight for another scan, purely because she couldn't quite get an accurate date, but everything seemed fine in there so tht was a massive relief.

It's funny seeing the April and May 2012 threads on here now, I felt like I was going to be just pregnant and no more forever!

KittyRogue · 29/08/2011 14:09

Llama, from reading books and stuff I think it's best to get things when you feel you need them. This is my first too and I'm just following what my body tells me it needs. I'm 11+3 and already in maternity trousers (though they are massive on!) as my normal trousers are too tight. I'm still wearing my normal bras but that will be changing soon, just. Need to get to the shops! Everyone is different and each body changes at different rates. Trust in yourself. I think I read that 'they' suggest getting maternity bras at the beginning and then getting measured just before your due date for a bigger bra.

Hope everyone is getting better with dizzy spells, again from what I have read (am a bookworm) keep your sugar levels up and be sure when standing to keep shifting your weight, it might look like your doing the 'need a wee' dance but it keeps blood flowing and stops you from getting light headed.

Are any of you reading any good baby books? I went to the library and picked up some, one of them is Jo Frost's (of super nanny fame) 'confident baby care' and seems really good at them moment.

Am excited and nervous about our scan too (next Monday!!) convinced it's twins and/or a lizard child (don't ask)!!

SantaLucia · 29/08/2011 18:03

Evening all. Have been absent for a while due to holidays, family visits and the return of school terms north of the border. Had my scan and booking appt today. It was such a relief to see the little baby in there. I never quite believe it until I see it! Was shocked by how much it was spinning around and up and down. The sonographer was getting very frustrated trying to get a good picture that wasn't just a blur of movement. Totally different to my first baby who always seemed to be asleep during scans. Due date now 6th March so I was totally out with my period dates.

Re: maternity wear etc I was measured for new bras last week and have gone up a cup size. Dolly Parton eat your heart out! Also wearing maternity jeans from Topshop as my old ones don't fasten and they fall down when I'm trying the bump band thing. Obsessing over ridiculously expensive mat wear that I can not afford at all but found some good bargains on ebay which I'm keeping an eye on.

Hi to all the new people who've joined since I've been AWOL. Bring on the 2nd trimester!

laabama · 29/08/2011 19:55

Evening all,

I conceded defeat today and hit Mothercare for some maternity bras. OMG! They are SOOO comfortable. I also bought some nighttime ones, so looking forward to trying one out later!!

Hope everyone's had a good weekend. I had my first experience of clearing up child vomit (DP's 10 y.o DS threw up all over our new carpet, poor poor thing - DS, not carpet!!!!). We've managed to get rid of the stain, now just got to wait for the smell to go..... House pretty much disinfected from top to bottom!
