I seem to either feel bloated and starving or bloated and very full and sick! I don't think i've ever eaten so much. I'm trying a variety of things just to see if I can find something that makes me feel normal!! :)

freedom2011 · 05/08/2011 09:55

thanks honeymoo unfortunately still bleeding, not constantly, but at least once or twice a day. 7+5 today. no serious pain so trying to stay calm and wait it out until next week. but I do not have a good feeling.

Chulita · 05/08/2011 10:19

laabama that's exactly how I am, bloated, starving and nauseous or bloated, full and nauseous. I'm currently tucking into a bowl of popcorn in an attempt to stop myself from eating salt&vinegar chipsticks!

freedom are they going to scan you again next week?

8 weeks today, counting down the days til I feel vaguely normal again.

freedom2011 · 05/08/2011 13:01

chulita it is not scheduled but if I keep bleeding over the weekend I am going to ring the doctor again and ask if they can check. I don't think I could bear to wait until 12 week scan and then see no heartbeat

rollerbaby · 05/08/2011 13:32

Freedom just go into your local Early pregnancy unit and say you are in pain or something and that way they won;t risk not scanning you. Hopefully it will be nothing x

ZhenXiang · 05/08/2011 17:01

Freedom sorry to hear about the bleeding, it is good that a scan picked up that the baby is still there.

My niece had bleeding all the way to 4 and a half months and was scanned regularly eventually she passed what looked like a sac, the hospital think she was pregnant with twins and one didn't develop. She is now 31 weeks and baby doing fine.

They should book you in for a further scan if you are still bleeding, fingers, legs and toes crossed for you that all stays well x

I am 10 weeks today, week 9 was the roughest so far morning sickness, nausea most of the day and vomiting after each meal. I have been managing by eating lollies for fluids and cereal bars. I finally have appointment with the midwife next Tuesday, but still awaiting scan date.

KittyRogue · 05/08/2011 17:41

Freedom, I hope everything settles down during the weekend. Everything crossed for you x

I am 8 weeks today! Blood tests have come back all normal (yay!) so now just need to wait for the letter with details of the scan...

I HATE waiting!

Pretty certain I'm starting to show, I normally have a belly but it's becoming bigger and more rounded (maybe this is all in my head...)

4 weeks till I can kiss this trimester goodbye!!!

freedom2011 · 05/08/2011 17:52

Thanks KittyRogue, ZhenXiang and honeymoo for your messages of support and positive stories. I went to the emergency walk in clinic this afternoon, my regular doctor being closed already.

Good news - there is still a heart beat
Bad news - diagnosis of threatened miscarriage, told to go home, lie down and hope.Hmm And to go immediately for a follow up scan on Tuesday at my own doctor. Brilliant.

laabama · 05/08/2011 19:37

Oh Freedom I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully it will remain threatened though and won't come to pass. Will keep my fingers crossed for you. Try to keep positive - hard, I know!!!x

freedom2011 · 05/08/2011 20:16

thanks laabama I am thinking of positive things and I am pretty lucky in that I have no nausea/vomiting at all and a great supportive DH. lets all push on and try and get through these early weeks. I drop back in to see how people are doing next week or two

pommedechocolat · 06/08/2011 08:27

Fingers crossed for you freedom. Take it very very easy.

I am now 9 plus 5 if you go by the scan dates. Nausea still there but low level and the horrendous tiredness and grumpiness is definitely on the way out. Startng to feel quite lovely - I LOVE this next bit of pregnancy. I feel better during these few months than I do normally.

Just need to get some good maternity clothes so I don't look a total fright.

I have a bump Kitty! I think it looks quite obvious I am pg.

KittyRogue · 06/08/2011 09:51

Yay Pomme for the bump!!! I'm of the opinion now that if people ask me if I'm pg I won't lie, but most people are afraid to Ask just incase I'm just getting fat!!! Oh what a fun game to play!!

I'm so happy Hoover humping is catching on in the board!!! Puts a smile on my face!

Poppins27 · 06/08/2011 11:04

I wish 'hoover humping' was catching on in my household....the only energy I have is being used walking to the fridge and back at the moment!! I honestly have never eaten as much...if I'm not eating I feel wretched!!

kirsty12321 · 06/08/2011 16:23

Hi ladies, apologies for disappearing this past week, terrible week at work :( have got back from my booking appointment this morning for my partner to tell me he doesn't want this baby and I HAVE to have an abortion Sad I feel so sad and alone and scared, I just wanted some reassurance and support from you all Sad

rollerbaby · 06/08/2011 17:32

kirsty12321 that is horrendous! What brought this on? Was the baby a surprise I take it. You don't have to do anything you don't want to.

kirsty12321 · 06/08/2011 17:48

Baby was a big surprise! We were using mini pill and condoms but one managed to get through..
He seemed quite excited up untill today, I think it's maybe because my mum took me to booking in appointment? but only because he couldn't get off work Sad I feel completely stuck in the middle cause I don't want to loose my baby, it wasn't planned but is still a part of me and I feel very lucky to be here, but then I don't want to loose him either.. Arrgh just gonna put my jammies on and lie in front of come dine with me...

rollerbaby · 06/08/2011 17:51

well it doesnt sound great to lay ultimatums down when your partner is pregnant. how old is he if you don't mind me asking? All I can say is that if you do something that you don't want to do you will regret it - no relationship is worth that as you will just resent him after all is said and done.

zebedeethezebra · 06/08/2011 18:06

Freedom - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Kirsty - that's awful - please do whatever is right for you and don't be pressured into doing anything you don't want to do. He may well come round, or maybe he's just not mature enough.

Well I've been on the allotment today and my courgettes have practically turned into marrows since I last picked some last Tuesday.

Not sure how I found the energy to do that, I have not felt so knackered ever, even climbing Kilimanjaro was less tiring. I've had a bit of nausea too now. If I don't eat I feel sick then after I've eaten I feel sick then too! I even woke the other night feeling sick.

6+4

kirsty12321 · 06/08/2011 18:17

He is 22, and a young 22 as well, hopefully if we just don't talk about it for a week and see how he's feeling then, I know a lot of dads to be feel very overwhelmed quite often until they hold their baby ad they get a massive rush of love, hopefully that's what will happen, fingers crossed!

Zebedee those courgettes sound lovely, I would be making many cakes and filling the freezer with them! Yum!!

I am 9+1 today and the booking appointment went really well, the midwife took three viles of blood and I fainted and was sick though.. Hmm!

rollerbaby · 06/08/2011 18:21

It's probably not that surprising at 22 that he might be feeling a bit scared. I think you just have to gently let him know that your decision is right for you and you won't pressure him to be involved if he doesn't want to be. As you say, I'm sure he will but it is a massive thing to get his head around. being adult about it and giving him time to adjust definitely teh way forward... My dh was 40 when our first was born and he was nervous beforehand about the pressures of being a father, so I can only imagine how he must feel.

Tanya28 · 06/08/2011 19:01

Hi everyone can I join in the thread? Baby due 28th March. Saw your post kirsty, I hope you can work thing through.

pommedechocolat · 06/08/2011 19:37

Kirsty - I fainted on the midwife at my first booking in appointment too! They're quite used to it.
I felt ridiculously proud that I didn't this time. I even told this midwife about last time.
Good luck with your partner. Hope he comes round.

kirsty12321 · 06/08/2011 19:54

Hopefully he can come to terms with the idea, I stayed adamant that I was 'keeping' this baby and id like him to be around and involved as much as possible but I can understand if he doesn't want to.. He's just called and apologises for shouting and said he's gone for a walk but will be home soon, it's lovely to know that I've got support on here if something does happen between us Smile

Hiya Tanya, congratulations!! Smile
Is this first baby or a new sibling?

Chulita · 07/08/2011 07:59

kirsty I agree with what everyone else has said, you definitely need to do what's right for you. Hopefully it's just a big shock and as he gets used to the idea he'll be more positive!

welcome tanya!

I had my booking in appt on Fri and I really didn't like the mw. Not to worry eh?! if it's anything like last time I'll hardly see her anyway. I forgot when I'd had my last period so guessed and she put my edd at March 22nd, I hope it's not that late, we've got a wedding on April 10th Confused

zebedee I'm about to go away for 5 days and I'm really hoping my courgettes don't die without any water, they survived last time but I'm a bit worried now because they're really growing so fast! What are you planning to do with yours? I've got more than I know what to do with.

zebedeethezebra · 07/08/2011 18:15

Chulita I'm about to look up courgette recipes on the internet before putting my ocado order in! A friend gave me a recipe for chocolate courgette cake which was yum. I really have masses now. I'm giving some away tomorrow, and using a few of the smaller ones tonight in a salad. I'm sure your courgettes will be OK. We often go 5 days without rain here. I never water mine as there's no water on the allotment apart from my water butt which is only for seedlings and desperate measures. I think courgette plants are pretty robust. Are yours in a gro bag though? Perhaps a neighbour could water them if that's the case.

Not sure how to freeze them kirsty do you know?

Felt too knackered this afternoon to go to the allotment [sceptical] and ended up having a sleep during DS's nap instead! I hope that's not a sign of things to come. DP won't take care of the allotment, its only me that does it. Still I've no room to grow any more stuff and did some weeding yesterday.
