Evening all

I had my booking appt today... argh
Because of my history and health I am considered super high risk, yay
Because of my health I had to give SEVEN VIALS of blood in the blood test. I am surprised there is anything of me left.

Other than that, all ok. Got a meeting with the consultant in 2 weeks... not even the registrar, clearly I am a concern!

They gave me a revised EDD of 2/3/2012 which makes me 9+4 but of course the scan might be different.

Got my scan on the 23rd.

broodylicious · 03/08/2011 08:24

oh Makka that sounds pretty horrid, having to give so much blood! I'm dreading that bit, I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to the red stuff :( Don't like "super high risk" but at least they've got your best interests at heart? Does it mean you're going to have more scans as well if they're concerned?

laabama · 03/08/2011 08:44

I have my booking appointment next week but have to go to an early pregnancy class today ahead of it - found out yesterday!! I'm working from home today to accommodate. DP pointed out to me last night that I'm entitled to attend antenatal-related appointments within work time, which I'd forgotten, so I shall be including it in my work time today! Kitty - glad that you managed to find your work policy - what an arse!!

Chulita · 03/08/2011 08:48

7 vials Shock you poor thing! At least they'll be keeping an eye on you, that's gotta be good!

zebra we're growing a few things too but not as much as you are, sounds like hard work :) our blueberries are brilliant though, two bushes and that's more than enough berries for us, I've got 5 margarine boxes full in the freezer and probably 2 more on the second bush plus all the ones we've eaten, the dc love it!

kitty well done for sorting your boss out!

freedom2011 · 03/08/2011 11:27

hello. may I join? I am 7+3 today. I only went to the doctors yesterday to see if I really was pregnant so I was pretty happy when she said - well yes, there is a fluid sack, an embryo and the heart is beating - that makes you pregnant.

SantaLucia · 03/08/2011 11:37

Welcome freedom2011. Great news from your doctor - what good service. My GP just took my word for it that I was pg and I haven't heard anything from anyone since.

10 weeks now and I actually had the energy to dust the house today and am about to commence hoover humping. Week 9 was hideous - I felt like a zombie and was really, really miserable and depressed about everything - including shouting at my DH "Why am I doing this??? I don't want another child!" Blush

I usually have to give lots of blood too Makka (I have a type of haemophilia) but 7 vials seems excessive! Nice that you get to see the consultant though.

Off to see relatives on Friday who live on an island - not looking forward to the boat trip and keep obsessively checking the weather forecast to make sure its not going to be too choppy!

freedom2011 · 03/08/2011 11:50

thanks SantaLucia yes the service is excellent, they booked me in immediately for 12 week scan. Hope you have a good boat trip.

pommedechocolat · 03/08/2011 12:04

OMG SantaLucia. A ferry/boat would do me in.
I am 9 + 2 now (using scan edd) and although emotional chaos and shatteredness gone nausea has really started to kick in. Crackers and salt and vinegar snack a jacks my weapons of choice.

Chulita · 03/08/2011 12:39

I lived off salt&vinegar snack a jacks for months with DD.

santalucia I don't envy you the boat ride, not one little bit!

freedom that's brilliant! I've not told anyone official yet but I can't imagine they'll be that efficient.

broodylicious · 03/08/2011 14:45

is anyone else melting in this heat? Finding it so hard to keep my eyes open at the best of times but the heat is doing me in :( I need to invent a bed under this desk!

Sickness is getting me down too. I normally look forward to getting home for lovely food cooked by DH but I'm either just not in the mood for any food or while I'm eating, I just get terrible nausea and can't put a single mouthful in! I know I need to eat but it's just such a drama right now :(

On the upside, hey, I'm pregnant and can't wait to meet this little bean in March!!! :)

zebedeethezebra · 03/08/2011 14:54

I'm not so hungry today, is that a bad sign?? Confused

georgethecat · 03/08/2011 16:39

Hello can I join you ladies, I am due March 2nd and am 9+5. This is my second pregnancy after a missed mc in April. My symptoms keep coming and going which is making me freak out that my scan in a week and a half will go the same way too. Trying to stay positive though but want the scan to be over and done with :) Anyone in the same boat?

Norfolkbumpkin · 03/08/2011 17:39

George, I am in the same boat as you. I also had a mmc at the end of April, and my symptoms aren't consistent at all. I am trying to stay positive, but I remember last time that my symptoms were obvious up until a certain number of weeks then tailed off. This time around I am trying not raise my hopes up until I get a good scan/ My first mw appt. is next Tues when I will be 9+1. I am hoping that I might be able to persuade her to refer me to epau, as I don't hink I can cope with waiting until 12 weeks. These early weeks are such a worry!

Reallea · 03/08/2011 18:12

Pooh Norfolk, I don't know how you are bearing the wait, I have to admit I'd pretend to the midwife I'd had cramps or something in order to get a scan early.

I had chem pregnancy last month so still went for what should have been my 12 week scan at 8 weeks. All was well and we saw the heartbeat and I have a new scan booked in for 12 weeks. In fact they redated me and put me forward by 5 days but honestly I know when I ovulated so I'm kind of ignoring it!

Reallea · 03/08/2011 18:12

Meant to say poor Norfolk- darn iPad and it's predictive text!

SantaLucia · 03/08/2011 19:19

Why is it that I can't stomach a good healthy meal but a packet of crisps is like heaven! I had 3 packs of Wheat Crunchies yesterday.

Reallea · 03/08/2011 21:01

I held nothing down all day then had massive cravings for a big mac at 4pm. Gave in and went to the drive thru. Weirdly it completely cleared up the feelings of nausea for a good few hours.

SantaLucia · 04/08/2011 11:12

Now I want a Big Mac Grin

freedom2011 · 04/08/2011 14:25

Bleeding yesterday. Reassurance scan immediately, as in, within 2 hours, everything still there. Bleeding again today and some grey/brown tissue. Trying not to worry but it is difficult. Off to distract myself with a visit to the refridgerator.

rollerbaby · 04/08/2011 16:07

Freedom try not to worry, it could be implantation. I had an early scan last week and they told me tht I'd had some implantation and not to worry if I saw old blood.

7+1 today. Nausea slightly more than before. Kicked in around this time last time so really hope it isn't as bad.

Hi to tiany! I think we were on the same thread before - my boy is the same age at 8 months!

laabama · 04/08/2011 20:00

george I'm also in the same boat as you. Had a MC at the end of March and now on 2nd attempt. Feel very different to last time, which I'm hoping is a good thing. I keep thinking that if I get to next Friday without a hitch, I've done better than last time!! Am currently 7+1, I think. My 1st MW appointment is next Weds. I just want to get to the scan - I know exactly how you feel, Norfolk - was hoping I might get an earlier one but I suspect probably not! :(

laabama · 04/08/2011 20:01

santa lucia - I'm with you completely on that!!!!

laabama · 04/08/2011 20:03

Sorry, final one from me! Does anyone else feel really bloated?? I feel like I've put about a stone on in the last 2 weeks. Bloated and uncomfortable!

Norfolkbumpkin · 04/08/2011 20:45

I have been feeling really bloated today, and have been trying to hold my stomach in/slouching to hide the bulge! What hasn't helped has been my choice of clothes for work this morning - I put on a denim a-line skirt with a fairly tight waistband and a horizontal striped top. By mid morning my tummy had bloated out and things felt a tad tight. I am sure that my boss gave my tummy a sideways glance whilst I was talking to her. Note to self; must not wear unflattering clothes to work again, must layer and hide!

rollerbaby · 04/08/2011 21:32

Yes very bloated! Can't eat too much either and get really full. Can't wait for these tiring early weeks to pass...
