Well, ladies this is goodbye from me - just home from the early gynae unit who confirmed early MC - starting bleeding yesterday, went to A&E,referred for scan etc... Sad

Hope all goes well with you all and I will lurk every now and again to see how it's all going.
Bye

Chulita · 01/08/2011 13:28

bridgieboo so sorry, I hope you're back on another thread very soon. Thinking of you :(

makka ah, so sorry, that explains it :(. I hope you get a scan date soon!

MakkaPakkasWilly · 01/08/2011 14:15

Chulita - I do agree with you a bit on becoming a bit paranoid through being on MN; it's not easy reading seeing loads of people leave because of mc and if you're anything like me and really really really want this pregnancy (well the baby, not this sickness that's haunting me!) more than anything, it's difficult not to think "blimey, this could be me posting that at any time" and think any cramp or pain or spotting is me losing the baby.
However, I do think the ladies I've come across on here have all been brilliant and actually taken away some of the anxiety I've felt so eased my mind and worries (thanks folks :) ) xx

broodylicious · 01/08/2011 16:00

Makka - I agree with not buying mat clothes yet. I'm just so superstitious and couldn't cope with seeing them hanging around if I lose my little one :(

BitzyVonMuffling · 01/08/2011 16:34

Have called for my results only to be told a doctor needs to call me back to explain them. Am thinking the worst and just wishing they'd hurry up and ring :(

BitzyVonMuffling · 01/08/2011 17:35

Levels rising at a good rate :) :) :) I htink the dr has a different way of reading the results, the nurse told me the figure was about 58000, which means nothing to me, but the doctor just said it's gone from 16000 to 22000 in 2 days. He's going to call the EPU for me in the mornng and get me a scan appointment this week. SO relieved (and if anyone can shed light on what those figures mean, that'd be great!) Have spend literally all day in bed feeling sick as a dog but now have the biggest smile on my face :)

MrsCog · 01/08/2011 17:49

Hi everyone

bitzy that sounds really positive :)

I've been a bit AWOL due to extreme tiredness - unable even to sit at computer. God knows how I'm surviving at work - especially as I have an hour's motorway commute each way!

I'm also struggling to understand how something as boring as salad can make me feel sick for a whole afternoon! So so strange. I've had a few days respite from such bad nausea, but it's back with a vengence today.

Also heard from my midwife today - not filled with confidence as she was a bit strange on the phone and made me feel as though I should be grateful that they were there at all as our local practice is without a designated mw at the moment! Which I understand is stressful, but I fail to see how I should be overly thankful for a basic service! Anyway - got private scan (at 10+1 next Sat, booking in on 22nd, and then '12 week scan' 4th Sept) fingers crossed for it all!

laabama · 01/08/2011 18:59

So sorry, Bridgieboo, I've been there and it's just horrible. Fingers crossed that you'll be on another thread soon. xxx

pommedechocolat · 01/08/2011 19:05

Mrs Cog I'm with you on the boring food - fruit at the moment is a no go for me! Makes me feel so bad!

tiany · 01/08/2011 20:46

Chulita i thought i recognised your name... i was one of the unlucky ones on Aug 2010 thread but was back on the November one and my little one arrived safe n sound :)

Makka i am a little nervous too and really trying to wait for scans before allowing myself to really belief its happening. If you get really worried though try get an early scan to put your mind at rest.

Chulita · 02/08/2011 08:18

tiany that's lovely, congratulations on your November baby :)

KittyRogue · 02/08/2011 09:19

bridgieboo Thinking of you xx

DH is worried about my fitness levels so 'suggested' we went on a bike ride last night... I now have a VERY sore bum!

Off to have bloods taken in a bit! Yay!

Morning sickness AND dizziness all day yesterday (made the bike ride even more fun!)

Feeling better today!

Told my boss that I was pg last week. Told him when my midwife appointments were going to be and the first thing he says 'how are you going to make the time back?' WTF?!!! It says that you can have 'reasonable time off for maternity appointments' so words need to be said to him me thinks...

pommedechocolat · 02/08/2011 09:24

KittyRogue - Some companies are rubbish about all maternity stuff. Mine was awful. Am currently freelance so not such an issue.
Put your foot down now. Get in contact with HR say you know your rights and your boss is undermining them.

Reallea · 02/08/2011 09:24

Kitty that's not on I hope you just smiled sweetly and will make NO attempt to work it back, nor your subsequent appointments or scans.

KittyRogue · 02/08/2011 09:37

Thanks guys, he does this for doctors and dentist appointments too. It's really frustrating as all my health services are based in or around the village I live in and I am reliant on buses to get me to work (parking in town is a nightmare!) so everything takes that little bit longer making it really hard to make the time back! We have pointed out to the boss a few times that we are allowed time off for these things but it falls on deaf ears....

I will make a stand for this though! I'm so looking forward to starting maternity leave so I no longer have to deal with all this! The amazing thing is it's just him! Not the company as a whole ( I think)

I also have been feeling like I am being discriminated against too. I'm the only girl in our office and really don't feel like I have been given the same opportunities as my co-workers (4 in the office including me and the boss). The lady that did the job before me also felt the same way. :(

Sorry for the rant! Just needed to vent! Off to get blood taken now!

zebedeethezebra · 02/08/2011 11:27

kitty - your boss sounds like a right wa*r. Don't stand for it!

Well I don't know about you girls, but I'm so knackered I can barely concentrate on my work. Starving too. So far this morning I've had a handful of cereal as soon as I woke up, and some juice, breakfast (cereal and toast) about an hour and a half later, then a cereal bar about 30 minutes or so ago, now I'm just hoping that tea will keep me full until lunch!

I'm hoping the maternity clothes from last time will still fit. I'm certainly not buying any until I'm further along. However now that Boden do maternity I'm tempted to buy a couple of new things.

When I had DS I found maternity clothes really disappointing - most of the ranges are really awful and seem to be aimed at teenage mums rather than us more mature women. I remember buying an awful lot online and sending an awful lot back. It was annoying that so few shops had ranges in store. My Gap jeans kept falling down so they were a waste of money. I think I ended up buying most of my stuff from Seraphine, which has frequent sales. I certainly won't buy any wrap tops though, they sound like a right hassle! Grin

Hope you're all keeping well. I'm working from home today, so I'll be off to the allotment as soon as I'm finished to see what goodies need picking today. I have a recipe for chocolate courgette cake which I'm planning on making tomorrow. That'll make me put me a few more pounds on! Grin

5+7 (6 weeks tomorrow! Yay! Another week to tick off!)

zebedeethezebra · 02/08/2011 11:53

PS is there anyone else that is too scared to have a bit of, you know, nookie at the mo? Poor DP!

pommedechocolat · 02/08/2011 12:22

I lose my libido totally for the whole 9 months when I am pregnant. Poor dh indeed!

It is funny after the sudden ramping up of action for ttc it then becomes a once in a blue moon event post bfp...

Chulita · 02/08/2011 12:48

pomme I'm the same, and the whole time I'm bfing too...I was last properly 'up for it' Jan '08, poor DH. I'd not mind it now but I'm too knackered!

zebedee what are you growing on your allotment? It's a good year for courgettes, that's for sure.

broodylicious · 02/08/2011 13:54

Zebedee so glad you raised that! Yeah, poor DH. Thrashed him for a while back there, now he's lucky if he cops a feel of anything ;)

zebedeethezebra · 02/08/2011 14:04

Chulita I'm growing lots of stuff! This year so far we've had broad beans, peas (but loads had worms in so not very successful), beetroot, turnips, carrots, cabbages, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, swiss chard, potatoes, onions, garlic, fennel, green beans, and millions of courgettes (because I planted too many plants).

Its my first year of doing it, so its all very exciting but a bit experimental. Digging for potatoes is like Christmas!

I haven't done very well with salady things though. I think its too dry for tomatoes, and anything remotely salady keeps flowering before it produces any leaves. Parsnips have been a bit of a disaster - there's only 4 still going! And I keep treading on the leeks so I'm not sure if they will ever take off.

I'm looking forward to my mini pumpkins and butternut squash too - again I planted far too many so there will probably be hundreds. Next year hopefully there will be asparagus, blueberries, rhubarb and blackcurrants but as I only planted them this year, there's no crop yet.

What's really surprising is how it really does taste much better than the stuff from the supermarket.

So glad I'm not the only one who's off it on the nookie front. When I was pregnant with DS we were at it like rabbits, but not this time. Weird eh?

BitzyVonMuffling · 02/08/2011 16:15

Is anyone else having trouble getting comfy in bed? Am only 7+3 and have no bump to speak of (just blubber) and already I can;t sleep on my front anymore. It feels like there's definately something getting in the way, and I don't liek the feeling of pressing down on it. I guess as this is pg number 3 everything is pretty stretched already. I just can't believe I can;t sleep on my front already. It's the thing that really bugs me about pregnancy, I hate sleeping in any other postion. I managed to get out for a god long walk with ds today which made me feel better after yesterdays morning sickness pity party. I've been sucking constantly on rhubarb and custard sweets which seems to have helped.

zebedeethezebra · 02/08/2011 16:53

My boobs are too sore to sleep on my front.

Imaginary Wine

KittyRogue · 02/08/2011 18:49

Bitty, this is my first pg and I have the same problem too! Sleeping on my front is a no go :( I also find that when I sleep on my side it take ages to get comfy as everything seems to 'pull' from top to bottom :/

On the boss front, I waved the work policy under his nose and that shut him up! He hasn't read it so was talking out of his arse! He has never dealt with a work pg (you would think he would have read up on it as soon as I told him last week!) before.
