Ive got my 1st doctors appointment tomorrow to confirm things

Has anyone else got the BFP and wants to celebrate?

Please could you all keep your fingers crossed for me, I've woken up this morning and am spotting bright red... :(

MakkaPakkasWilly · 30/07/2011 05:51

Babybrain, I hope it's not significant, thinking of you today... Get yourself to a&e if you are concerned xx

Gingersnap, omg I can't believe the difference in dates! Glad to hear it's positive though

itsababslife · 30/07/2011 16:16

babybrain, keeping fingers crossed x

MakkaPakkasWilly · 30/07/2011 18:49

Thinking of you Babybrain x

Babybrain commented on the other march thread saying she won't have Internet for a few days, let's all keep our fingers crossed for 'no news is good news'
Hope the rest of you are well and not suffering ms and bloating too bad! :)

Is anyone else being daft and looking at maternity clothes? So many of the really expensive lovely sites have got sales on at the moment, with loads of bargains to be had, but I can't help feeling it really would be tempting fate to go splurging out at this early stage....sooo frustrating Envy

Carlitawantsababy · 31/07/2011 07:14

itsababslife I'm being really daft and buying them! Hee hee! Except, I'm buying them all on eBay and only allowed myself to spend over a fiver on an Isabella Oliver number! I feel doing it this way is totally justifiable, it will take a while to build my collection from eBay so why not get started! Besides, I'm really not the superstitious type, nothing I buy is going to make any difference to the health of my baby (except I suppose if it makes me happy it will send happy vibes to baby?) Do it! Grin

KittyRogue · 31/07/2011 11:37

I am holding off buying any clothes at the moment as I'm not sure how much weight I will put on between now and when I show!

Had first midwife appointment today - did anyone else find it slightly anti-climatic? I'm not sure what I was expecting but sitting around filling out loads of forms really wasn't it!

BitzyVonMuffling · 31/07/2011 12:20

Fingers crossed for you babybrain x I get my bloods back tomorrow and am feeling positive again (seriously, mood swings and emotions have been extreme this time round. Last week I was in the depths of despair). Hopefully I'll get a scan next week too. Am 7+1 today and the sickness is getting worse every day. I was having a coffee with dp earlier and without a word just ran out to retch in the bathroom. Poor fella. Am taking it easy today and then dp has the day off work tomorrow so we're going to go somewhere quiet before I call for my results. Am really hoping for good news :)

BitzyVonMuffling · 31/07/2011 12:21

As for clothes, I haven't actually gained any weight according to my scales but I do just feel fatter. Hard to explain. I'm going to hold out buying any maternity clothes til our local NCT sale in September and then I can get more for my money.

Poppins27 · 31/07/2011 14:51

Hahaha Carlitawantsababy....I love your 'happy baby vibes' way of thinking and will now look forward to some much needed guilt free shopping :-)

Babybrain....fingers, legs and everything else crossed for you!!

Poppins27 · 31/07/2011 14:54

Oooooh and best of luck for tomorrow Bitzy!!!

Chulita · 31/07/2011 15:00

Thinking of you babybrain!

I've just started looking at maternity clothes, after buying on Ebay the first time and 2 pgcies later they're looking very much the worse for wear. I'm actually going to buy myself some new stuff this time and if we don't go for a 4th I'll sell them afterwards. What sites have sales on?

itsababslife · 31/07/2011 18:03

I googled maternity wear and all the usuals came up - isabella oliver (still bloody expensive despite the sale), seraphine, crave, mamas and papas....but also new look, top shop, DP all doing mat clothes since I was last preggies - there's a lot more choice :)

Chulita · 31/07/2011 19:48

I noticed Next had some good stuff this season, I've been lusting after an Isabella Oliver wraparound top since getting pg with DD 3 years ago but still can't justify it and they don't go cheap on ebay either! You're right, they're certainly not cheap new!

Reallea · 31/07/2011 21:36

Those wraparound tops are just a pain in the bum! I have two... And when you go to the loo of course you have to rewrap afterwards because they get unadjusted when you pull your trousers down or even lift a skirt up... Which is fine if you are at home ... But considering they are nice tops for going out in I often found myself in a grotty pub loo (eugh, or even unpleasant restaurant loo- Why oh why don't some restaurants pay more attention to cleaning their loos? Always puts me off and makes me never want to return)...so anyway you're there in this cubicle trying to rewrap yourself.... And one end you're wrapping round and round as you need to, and it needs both hands to get it right. But the other end? What on earth do you do with it? Because if you do nothing it's just going to dangle on the floor- and of course the floor is invariably damp with... well you don't know what but you're praying that it started raining outside and someone just came in. So I would find myself attempting to do all sorts of bizarre things with the other end like pile it on my head or rest it on the paper dispenser but it kind of ruined getting the other half right.... Honestly I 'm relieved they go for so much on eBay because I've lent them to a friend but as soon as i get them back I am selling them straight away to pay for some useful items! The Isabella Oliver standard tops are great and amazing quality so eBay is OK!

tiany · 31/07/2011 21:45

hi! have been following the thread a little but just posting now. I am 6+3, this will be no.2, DS1 is 8mths old!! Was planning no 2 but to say it happened rapidly is an under statement... excited but also quite nervous will have two little nippers!
Am feeling EXHAUSTED and bloated... i didnt really show until about 16wks last time but think this one is going to pop very soon!!! anyone else finding this?
Really sorry to hear of the losses, its difficult but fingers crossed wont be long until another stronger bean takes hold.

ZhenXiang · 31/07/2011 22:39

Babybrain just caught up with thread, am thinking of you and crossing fingers, toes and legs that it is all ok.

I am 9 weeks now, got first midwife appt on the 9th will be nearly 11 weeks then a still won't have a scan appt arranged.

Very tired and sick in the mornings and after most meals at the moment, but MIL passed away this week :( so am dealing with a lot sorting out everything with the family and haven't been getting enough sleep.

I was supposed to be shopping for maternity clothes this week. I only have two pairs of trousers that fit now as I have a proper bump already, but that has sort of gone out of the window.

Chulita · 01/08/2011 06:43

Good point rellea, hadn't thought of 'em like that. Maybe I'll just ignore those ones then.

zhenXiang sorry to hear things are so difficult at the mo, hope you get everything done and find some time to rest.
tiany I'm expecting to show sooner rather than later, I'm quite short and have had two reasonably close together already, still not back in shape after DC2 so I'm not expecting miracles with this one.

itsababslife · 01/08/2011 07:29

Reallea - you're absolutely right, those wraparound tops are bloody awful...possibly the most uncomfortable item of clothing ever invented. I had a couple from jojomamanbebe (the Bettaware of babywear!) and I found I was constantly readjusting the damn things to stop them riding up or gaping open, and they were made of a horrible fabric that made me sweat copiously around the armpits (sorrry for image) the moment I put them on - and this was in December! I loathe jojomaman - I bought a few things from them and nothing was anygood - they were either sweaty and uncomfortable as above, fell apart before they came out of the packaging or shrank in the first wash, and the feeding tops were so badly made that I couldn't do the clip back up again without taking the sodding thing off! The rest of the catalogue touts a load of baby crap that you really don't need, but as a first time mum get totally suckered in to buying....And, they send me an identical catalogue twice a year, in 3 years they have never changed their stock.

Blimey....where did that come from!!! I must have been storing that up in my deeper consciousness for just this moment to rant, or maybe its just the hyperirritability of the newly pregnant lady Grin

Tiany - Welcome, yep I suspect i'm going to pop soon too. I'm due to be a bridesmaid at the end of September...I haven't dared tell the bride, she's already massively stressed out with all the planning as it is. Fortunately the dress appears to be some sort of tent that will need taking in (only not quite as much now Grin)

Chulita · 01/08/2011 08:09

I totally agree re jojomaman, it looks lovely in the catalogue and then it turns up...I had one of their wraparounds but I thought a quality brand would be better. Tbh the main worry I had with it was that I've got a serious flabby overhang from DD and it accentuated it, not a good look!

MakkaPakkasWilly · 01/08/2011 08:37

I am not going shopping for mat wear until I have been scanned.
I have impending feelings of doom.

Just me?

I ordered a doppler on monthly hire, it should arrive today. I am aware I may be being paranoid/neurotic but I am feeling DOOM.

I don't need mat wear just yet. I am huge but just dug out my fat wardrobe for the time being.
9+2

Chulita · 01/08/2011 11:19

makka when's your scan date? that doesn't sound like much fun feeling like that all the time. I don't think mn always helps, when pg with DS we lost loads of people off the August 2010 thread and I was getting really paranoid whereas if I'd not been on it I wouldn't have given it a second's thought. Fingers crossed for you too!

MakkaPakkasWilly · 01/08/2011 11:38

Chulita, no idea on the scan. I have my booking appt tomorrow.
It's not MN fault - I had a mc at 13 weeks last year, THAT'S what is making me paranoid.
