Found out on sunday that were expecting our first baby in march!! Some online due date calculators say the 8th and some say the 10th so im not quite sure which one is right!!

Ive got my 1st doctors appointment tomorrow to confirm things

Has anyone else got the BFP and wants to celebrate?

So sorry withoutanet. Look after yourself.

Fingers crossed for you Bitzy.

Pretty sure dd has hand foot and mouth which is a bit worrying. Risk seems very low from my googling but off to the docs tomorrow to get her confirmed and talk about hfm and pregnant women.

MrsCog · 27/07/2011 21:10

Really sorry to hear your news withoutanet, take care and hopefully you'll be back on the ante-natal threads soon.

bridgieboo · 27/07/2011 22:16

Hi all
After spending 2 cycles on the March conception bus (feel like I fell asleep and woke up to find everyone had got off the bus) got a BFP on Monday,so EDD 28/03/12.

So excited but a touch petrified, this is no2,DS is 19 months,so will be 2 and 3 months when baby comes.Have no family support as we're not originally from here, hence the petrified part...

Everything tastes funny - is anyone else experiencing this??

Carlitawantsababy · 28/07/2011 08:02

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss withoutanet Sad

bridgieboo · 28/07/2011 11:25

So sorry to hear such sad news withoutanet
I posted in such a hurry last night, that i didn't take time to read the previous posts,so didn't realise a loss had occurred, sorry if I appeared insensitive!

pommedechocolat · 28/07/2011 11:49

Seems to be that risk of mc with hfm is pretty low to tiny and I would be unlikely to get it anyway as adults are normally immune after childhood instances.
As the doc said though, there's not a lot I can do about it anyway - I can't avoid my own child.
Seems to be a bigger risk if you get it just before you give birth.

I am definitely finding pg number 2 harder and a lot more worrying!

Hi bridgieboo! Congrats and welcome :) we also live a little way from our families and will have a 23 month old when this baby appears. I am also a little apprehensive. Have also had the funny taste thing a bit but not with cheese. I am consuming cheese in gargantuan quantities at the moment!

JoZambia · 28/07/2011 11:58

I am on the other March Babies thread but i hope you dont mind if i join this one as well.
I am 35 and 7+5 (i think!) with my first. It was an unexpected pregnancy as I didnt think i was able to have children. I am currently living in Zambia so still deciding on whrther to have the baby here or return to the UK, but at the moment it looks like we are going to stay. We are trying to get the medical stuff sorted here so hopefully will be able to get a scan in about 2 weeks. Symptoms wise i have really bad nausea on and off with the occasional bout of actual vomitting (nice!) and am just so tired all the time. I am also aware of a constant dull ache in my groin which can apparently be a sign of twins!! Also seem to have developed baby brain - is this normal so early on??
I read the whole thread from beginning to end this morning (took 2 hours) and was so sad to read about those who have had losses, my thoughts are with you.

bridgieboo · 28/07/2011 12:54

Thanks Pomme nice to know there are others in the same boat,Has the HFM been confirmed in your DC? Reassuring for you,to know that the risk is low.

Welcome Jo - What exciting new to be pregnant when you thought you couldn't conceive!!! BTW what is the title of the other thread? I remember seeing both before I had BFP but when I searched after could only find the one. I am already suffering from baby brain - the other day I got out the bath and realised I had bathed with the door ajar (we have a male house mate who was home at the time but luckily engrossed in the TV)

JoZambia · 28/07/2011 13:02

Hi bridgieboo, it was called Brewing a March baby, it has been moved from the pregnancy thread to the Ante Natal thread which is probably why you couldnt find it.
Congratulations on your BFP! Am glad i am not the only one with baby brain, yesterday i told my DP some interesting fact and he said i had told him the day before, i honestly have no recollection of telling him!!

Reallea · 28/07/2011 19:21

OK this is WIERD.... I am still having to take the anti nausea tablets but they generally only take the edge off it, bringing me back down to a level of nasea that means I can carry on my day rather than lying on the bathroom floor all day long- so I am currently only vomitting 2-4 times a day instead of 10+ But the weird thing is have found something else that takes the edge off the nausea- penguin biscuits! God knows why, perhaps it rises my blood sugar level just the right amount? I am so happy! Haven't vomitted since I found out about them... Bet the weight's gonna pile on now!

pommedechocolat · 28/07/2011 19:36

Yay Reallea!! Good news! I am keeping my (very low level nothing like yours) nausea at bay by just eating constantly.

I am huge. I found a photo of my bump at 20 weeks with dd - I'm that big already at 8 weeks! I'm going to be a monster by the end!

itsababslife · 28/07/2011 20:16

withoutanet - I'm so sorry for you loss, its miserable. I hope you are looking after yourself and are surrounded by lots of loving support. I know what a dark place it can be, but it will get better x

itsababslife · 28/07/2011 20:17

makka - great new/old name, but i'm not entirely sure Makkapakka's got one ;)

itsababslife · 28/07/2011 20:23

Reallea - now I want a penguin!

firstduemarch09 · 28/07/2011 20:38

Hi everyone!

Had doctors appt today which was a bit of a non-event but they said I should hear about the midwife appt etc within in a week.

Have put on 4.5lb so far and 5+2. Very big.
I bought a whole load of maternity wear in the online Next sale which arrived yesterday - all half price or less. It won't be long until I need them! The sizing comes up big though so beware.

zebedeethezebra · 28/07/2011 21:41

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one putting weight on! I'm 5+2 and had put on 2.5lb by last Tuesday although yesterday it had dropped back to 1.5lb increase. That's rather a lot for one week! Grin

Got a tiny bit of spotting today though. Well, beige discharge. Hope it goes away again.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 29/07/2011 06:17

According to DS1, makka pakka DOES have a willy. The stubby thing that you or I would call a tail, DS1 will not hear 'tail' and insists that it is willy. Well he used to when I first coined the name, then it stuck.

Boys and their willies, eh!? Grin

BitzyVonMuffling · 29/07/2011 09:58

I'm off for my second blood test in a bit. I'm actually feeling a bit more optimistic, not least because of the constant queasiness of the last few days. I rolled over in bed this morning and the movement nearly made me hurl all over dp Grin. I'm goign to ask what the HcG level was on Wednesday even though it won't really tell me anything on it's own. I just need to know it tallies with my dates and then I can calm down over the weekend. We're going for a meal with friends and I am so off alcohol, the very thought makes me heave. We may just tell them so I don't get pestered. I've been drinking lemon and lime flavoured sparkling water from Tesco to make me feel better. Only about 40p for a litre bottle, pretty much no calories and it makes me feel human when dp pours me a cold glass first thing.

BitzyVonMuffling · 29/07/2011 13:24

HcG level was 57189 which I am informed is promising and bang on where it should be. So now the wait for the proper result on Monday continues. I spoke to the lovely doctor who I rang on Tuesday while I was there who told me not to call the results line and get put straight through to her and if all looks good she'll book me in for a scan next week. So tentative fingers crossed from me.

pommedechocolat · 29/07/2011 13:52

Yay BVM - all looking good. Definite fingers crossed.

itsababslife · 29/07/2011 16:51

Bitzy, if you feel like you've got the worlds most rubbish hangover, despite no alcohol i'd say that was a good sign - only pregnancy could be as mean! Good luck for Monday Smile

Has anyone else had ridiculously heightened olfactory senses? It seems to be the most useless super hero power - I had no idea my house was so full of nasty niffs!! all of which make me want to vom.

I can smell the (empty) compost caddy in the kitchen from the front door, DH having a crafty fag 30 metres away up the garden, next door seem to be constantly having a fry up. Today I have had to wash pillows, duvet, cushion covers, the carpets have been bicarbed and the floors washed with lime flavoured mr muscle....and yes, there has been hoover humping!!

I have flared up an old sacro-iliac gip (damned relaxin) but at least my nose (and stomach) is no longer offended Grin

KittyRogue · 29/07/2011 18:19

Yay Hoover humping! Yay BMV so glad things are looking good!

Itsababeslife, I am noticing smells more not to your level.

So bloated today! My plan of grazing throughout the day to avoid nausea hasn't worked so well today, it feels like things arent going down properly and I'm getting full so fast and still feeling sick :(

Am also getting an odd sensation when trying to get comfy at night. If I roll onto my side it feels like everything is 'pulling' from one side to the other :/ and it happens both sides :/ if you get what I mean? Hey ho. Midwife visit on Sunday will mention it to her then :)

Chulita · 29/07/2011 18:49

kitty I'm the same, I keep thinking I'll just graze to prevent nausea but end up bloated after a breadstick Hmm

I am reading but more lurking due to be too tired to read and post.

babybrain3 · 29/07/2011 19:41

I've been packing today, all of a sudden I was hit by a wall of exhaustion so decided to go for a snooze. After an hour or so and feeling not so refreshed, I went out to continue packing the car, only to find that I had left the boot open and one of our neighbours cats was asleep in the boot... Luckily all our bags were still there too!!

Gingersnap88 · 29/07/2011 22:05

Just wanted to say a quick thank you for the kind thoughts and to give a little update.

Went for my second scan today, they found the sac, the yolk, a wee baby and a heartbeat Smile I can't begin to describe how overjoyed we are. I'm measuring at 6+5 instead of 9 so it shows that it certainly is possible! Whilst in the waiting room before the scan, I had my first "proper" round of morning sickness (actually being sick) which I thought was a good sign!

My new due date is the 18th of March (instead of the 9th).

Good luck to everyone going through something similar, it's hard not to worry!
