Ive got my 1st doctors appointment tomorrow to confirm things

Has anyone else got the BFP and wants to celebrate?

Hooray, so glad all is well pixel! lol at the door/window analogy realea!
Looks like the Chinese gender thing is a load of bollocks - what a surprise! Grin

Carlitawantsababy · 20/07/2011 21:57

happyland how bad is the cramping?

pixelpeeper · 20/07/2011 22:00

Ooh I missed that too

Cramping, happyland? Any spotting?

Poppins27 · 20/07/2011 22:07

Thanks ladies....I appreciate the responses!! I hope I can return the support at some point during the next few months!! :) can I join in the stats stuff now I have officially 'come out' please. For the record I'm 27 expecting baby #1 and am 6+6 today :)

happyland · 20/07/2011 22:21

My heart rate is high and running obv makes it a higher. Doctors orders anyway. She said it should be ok in 2nd trim. And to be honest I was feeling like death after my last one!

Cramping very severe, but no spotting. Didn't have this with the previous two so she is getting me checked out. Trying not to panic though.

Good idea re the swimming, pool is in walking distance too.

Carlitawantsababy · 20/07/2011 22:36

Swimming is my thing anyway so I'm lucky I don't have to change.
Trying to work out if my cramping is normal or not now! It has really taken me by surprise as am cramping more often than not! I wouldn't describe it as severe though. Glad you're not worrying about it, worrying never helps - good on you.

babybrain3 · 21/07/2011 05:38

welcome poppins I am very jealous of your lack of symptoms. Envy insomnia has just made itself at home on my list of symptoms... Along with severe nausea and backache, huge boobs. Which I don't complain about. But they are like rocks and really sore.... All worth it though I'm sure!!!!

ZhenXiang · 21/07/2011 07:15

I had some light cramping/stretchy feelings a week or so ago, but no spotting. I put it down to my uterus stretching which given that I have scar tissue from EMCS last time would make sense. Is is that sort of cramping happyland?

Glad you are feeling better Rellea :)

I have been going to gym and was told so long as I keep my heart rate between 141-160 beats per minute jogging was ok, but as soon as I jog heart rate goes above that so now do fast walk. Trainer said so long as I stay in my optimum range (worked out by your age) that I am burning calories. I have a heart murmur and am going for ECG next week, but my resting heart rate is fine according to docs.

Last pregnancy just did lots of walking, did 6 miles on day I went into labour with DD (was hot and I wanted her out so tried an extra long walk and it worked!).

Chulita · 21/07/2011 07:23

I must start swimming, I used to run pre-DD, did a bit post-DD with her in the buggy and despite having a lovely double buggy now, I think I've run about 20 times in the last 6 months Confused I've been far too tired since DS was born, he's permanently on 5.20am wake-up and it's very hard to find the energy to run!

Glad you're keeping stuff down Rellea!

babybrain3 · 21/07/2011 08:14

I think i will go swimming, I think it will be the most comfortable kind of excersize as the water will support all the big bits....

pixelpeeper · 21/07/2011 08:22

I have called in sick. Again. I wonder if I am going to get fired.

pommedechocolat · 21/07/2011 08:47

They can't fire you for being preggers. In fact they can't do anything to you when you're preggers :)

Chulita · 21/07/2011 08:55

pixel it's a crap time isn't it?! They can't fire you for being pg though. Hope you have an easy day and don't worry about work too much!

SantaLucia · 21/07/2011 09:01

Happyland - I was told no running in the first trimester too, and no exercise which doesn't involve 2 feet planted on the ground (I'm guessing lots of squats and cycling then?) But I have running friends who continued to run during all of pregnancy - although 2 of them later got that sore pelvis thing and were ordered to stop Confused

I'm giving up on the exercise until DD is back in nursery after the summer hols anyway as I don't get any time by myself. Was planning to do a DVD exercise in the evenings but I'm way too knackered by the time everyone has been fed and put to bed.

Great news Pixel! I can't wait for my scan - 14 weeks (grrrr)

LadyCiara - I'm in Glasgow.

ShaggingProducesResults · 21/07/2011 10:14

pixel - they def can't fire you so don't worry about that. I called in this morning to work from home as feeling really sick and faint and really didn;t fancy a commute followed by 9 hours in a hot sweaty office

Good to hear that all went well with the scan and that fatty lala is well - hurrah for no clots. I'd love to have a look at bean but resisting the urge to book a private scan at the moment!!

I asked my Gp about running and she said it was fine..... however I've not been since getting my BFP as have been either too shattered or sick. Think I'll try a swim this weekend....... if I can be bothered!

pixelpeeper · 21/07/2011 10:43

you are right, they can't fire me but I hate taking the piss like this.

Also I am considering cancelling all my private clients as the photography is so physical, I am just not sure I can do it :(

Respect to all the joggers. I get a head rush going up the stairs!

ShaggingProducesResults · 21/07/2011 11:09

I don't think that you are taking the piss though. If you weren't updiffed and felt as ill as you do would you be off sick?? If you are anything like me I am guessing that the answer is yes and so why should it be any different just because you are pregnant?

I hate taking time off sick and always go in (to the point where is usually get sent home!) but if you're ill, you're ill adn there isn't much that you can do about it.

pommedechocolat · 21/07/2011 11:13

pixel - i too can't face much more movement than crawling round slowly after dd. My blood pressure drops through the floor when I'm pg and I feel like I have a constant headrush.
My photography friend booked an assistant friend for all her weddings this summer as she is pg - could you get help too?

pixelpeeper · 21/07/2011 11:30

pomme - do you know what - I get CV's ALL THE TIME from students looking for experience - I might just look at some of them!!
I didn't even think about it!

HMMMMM!!!

ShaggingProducesResults · 21/07/2011 12:04

Sounds like a good idea to me Pixel. I am sure that there must me some good students in your pile of CVs!!

kirsty12321 · 21/07/2011 13:14

I'm absolutely knackered today and so sick, I really should of phoned in sick myself! Managed to do the 10 min level walk to playgroup In the park with the boys I nanny and proceeded to be violently sick holding on to a tree for balance :( just want to lie in a dark room!
ShaggingProducesResults I'm in bath too, we could be screaming the RUH down together :)

stuffthenonsense · 21/07/2011 13:31

i am so tired i can hardly keep my eyes open, i almost felt like asking DH to take the morning off to look after DD so i could get some sleep, but i didnt think it would be welcomed at his office. might go get some lucozade..unless anyone has any other tips?

who was it said they are still breastfeeding? i am too, and it is starting to hurt but i am determined not to give up.

kenobi · 21/07/2011 13:52

I opened the dishwasher this am and the smell of the unwashed plates from last night nearly made me vom into it. And we only had carbonara, it wasn't exactly the strongest smelling thing in the world!

I am always very fragile in the mornings and okay by about this time of day. I'm textbook, me

Chulita · 21/07/2011 14:27

I am stuff, how old's your LO? I don't really want to bf past 1 anyway so I don't mind stopping soonish, he's not hugely fussed about it so probably won't miss it!

ShaggingProducesResults · 21/07/2011 14:29

Kirsty - looking at out dates we may well be in at the same time!! I shall have to remember to offer around pombears and see if I can spy any other smirking MNers!!!

Kenobi - that sounds horrible!! I seem to be okish with smells but brushing my teeth this morning had me heaving..... Lunch was a bit of a disaster so I have been to Waitrose and bought lots of lovely fruit in the hope that it will go down ok and give me lots of nice vitamins! Fingers crossed!!
