Found out on sunday that were expecting our first baby in march!! Some online due date calculators say the 8th and some say the 10th so im not quite sure which one is right!!

Ive got my 1st doctors appointment tomorrow to confirm things

Has anyone else got the BFP and wants to celebrate?

Reallea · 20/07/2011 19:02

Just did the lunar calendar thing for DS and it came back girl so didn't work for me I'm afraid! I know the LMP date for him so based it on conception 14 days later but it is out by a whole month I'm afraid! Shettles method can be attributed to him being a boy as we were on honeymoon... Nuff said...

Reallea · 20/07/2011 19:07

Zhen DH and I lived on Hammersmith Grove as our first flat together. We both miss London loads but have to be out here for DH's work

itsababslife · 20/07/2011 19:15

I don't know how i made it through today...did i include insomnia on my list of symptoms?? I've been awake since 2am Shock !!!

pixel i'm hoping all went well with you today, lots of positive vibes coming your way....I've got a scan next tuesday (6+3), so fingers crossed for the baked bean

Is anyone in the Stockport/West Derbyshire area? I'm definately not planning to go to Stepping Hill in Stockport Hmm. In fact DD was born at home so if I get that far, hopefully i'll get the chance to do it again.

any chance of going in the stats ?

SantaLucia · 20/07/2011 20:08

LadyCiara - I'm in Scotland too.

Went to tell my GP today. It always amazes me that they just take your word for it that you are pregnant. No test, no exam, nothing. And the first I can expect to hear is at 14 weeks apparently. Which leaves me in the tricky situation of whether to say anything to people or not....Hmmmmmm.

I'm feeling a bit less spaced out the last few days but much more nauseous today. I guess I'm hoping its a boy as we already have a girl but we can't choose a la Beckhams so there is no point wondering. Somebody said that the sickness and symptoms are worse with a girl so I'm wracking my brains trying to remember my symptoms from last time. Ha! My brain is soooo not up to that.

Anyway, welcome to the new people. All the London chat is making me a bit jealous - I lived in London for 10 years and I still miss all my great friends down there. Sniff.

Have to say that being in the first trimester during school/nursery holidays is VERY bad timing. DD is driving me insane!

Enjoy your evenings!

LadyciaraTaru · 20/07/2011 20:17

Whereabouts in Scotland are you SantaLucia?

I've realised my boobs have started growing aswell :( they were massive before and had really hoped I would get away with a few more weeks/months until they grew again. I need someone to invent a chest height trolley that I can lob them onto and wheel them round in front of me!! DH thinks the increased boobage is wonderful though Hmm

ZhenXiang · 20/07/2011 20:32

Chinese calender thingy didn't work for me either checked against DD and according to the predictor she should have been a boy.

Not sure about Shettles, but as DD is one of 12 grandchildren on DH's side and only one is a boy (also one of the grandkids is pregnant again with a girl), on the odds I reckon I could be having another girl.

Baby brain welcome :) - haven't added you to stats as unsure of your details

Haven't been too sick today, just faint again, but that could be something to do with the 14 hour day I pulled yesterday and the insomnia. Woke at 4am to use the loo and took an hour to get back to sleep.

pixelpeeper · 20/07/2011 20:46

hello ladies!

Many thanks for your vibes, they worked!

Fatty lala (beans name) is measuring 13.3mm (it's a biggun, explains the 1/2 stone weight gain Hmm), heartbeat is good, placenta is forming nicely and importantly there are...no clots!

Happy days!

Same day scan in West London cost just over £100 so well worth it imho.
Also approximate dating showed that I am pretty spot on with my assumption that I am 7+4 although this may change when the measurements become more reliable in a few weeks.

So yay!

I did the lunar calendar and it was right for both of mine. Apparently this time we are in the pink. I bloody hope not. I have enough boys shit here to fill a toys r us, I am so not contributing anything pink, it's simply a matter of economics Grin

Davinaaddict · 20/07/2011 20:55

Yay - fantastic news pixel!! So glad it went well for you.

Lunar calendar was wrong for me so who knows! But I suspect I'm having a girl with the worse symptoms, craving sweet things rather than savoury, plus I would quite like another boy which of course means I'm bound to have a girl Grin

Feeling Sooooooo bloated this evening I've had to undo my jeans Blush Not a good sign (but it is really, I know!) :)

ZhenXiang · 20/07/2011 20:57

Am so glad for you Pixel Grin

Did you go to Queen Charlottes for your scan? I am booking myself in there this time around as am going for VBAC.

Are you based in London too? Got a bit lost with the pace of the thread so can't remember.

pixelpeeper · 20/07/2011 21:03

zhenxiang, yes went to QCCH.
I think they are great there, thanks to them I have a DS2, he was a miracle baby.
They also handled my MC last year very well.
I wouldn't feel happy and comfortable with anywhere else!

When is your booking appt? We might even be there on the same day! How funny. Mine is 2nd Aug.
Dunno if I will have a VBAC yet. I want one...But I would be high risk after last birth so I might have to have ELCS. grumble

Reallea · 20/07/2011 21:11

Congrats Pixel! At 7+4 did they have to go through the door or was it ok to look in through the window now?

ZhenXiang · 20/07/2011 21:11

Pixel - I don't know when my booking appt is yet as haven't heard since went to GP two weeks ago. Do you think I should phone in direct to QCCH and book with them, how did you book?

It is nice to hear positive stories makes me feel good about my choice, was at Chelsea and Westminster for my last one, but wasn't happy with midwives as they failed to notice the monitor for DD's heart wasn't attached, it was MIL who noticed and a good thing she did as not long after that her heart rate dropped and I was rushed in for EMCS.

Chulita · 20/07/2011 21:16

Excellent pixel, good stuff! I think I'm looking at an ELCS after two EMCS, DH really doesn't want to have me do all the labour-get-to-pushing-oh-it's-stuck-let's-cut-you-open lark again and cut straight to the chase Wink

DD should have been a boy according to that chinese thing, didn't do DS.

I'm trying to delay telling anyone in the medical profession, I find once I've got dates to count down to it goes slower.

Poppins27 · 20/07/2011 21:18

Hello ladies, I hope you don't mind me barging in like this?! I've been an observer of this link since getting my BFP 2 weeks ago. My reckoning is that I'm 6+6 but I still feel like a bit of a fraud if I'm honest.

I've had 2 bfp at home, one 2 weeks ago, one a week last Sunday, but it still doesnt feel remotely real as i have absolutely no symptoms at all?! I apologise now as I can see a few of you are really struggling with sickness etc and I'm here actually moaning that I feel well, have no sore boobs and aren't bloating....but I just feel like I'm pretending to be pregnant I guess.

Me and my DP were over the moon to find we were expecting but I'm starting to worry I'm building my hopes up for no reason?! I have been to the Drs but they just said that they trust the home tests and that a midwife will be in touch.

So sorry that this has turned out to be a moan of sorts, but has anybody else felt like this?! I've not told anyone other than DP so am unable to get opinions or advice from anyone else at present!

Chulita · 20/07/2011 21:21

poppins if you're still like that in 4 weeks I will be very, very jealous. I have no symptoms either just yet but am enjoying every day of normality before it all kicks off :)

pixelpeeper · 20/07/2011 21:25

zhenxiang just call the bookings line and they'll tell you when you're in over the phone. I hate waiting for anything, personally

pixelpeeper · 20/07/2011 21:25

blod? Blob, obviously

pixelpeeper · 20/07/2011 21:26

Poppins27 - don't feel like that, with my first I was mega smug as I had zero symptoms. If you have BFP...well, it's in there Grin

happyland · 20/07/2011 21:26

I'm in Scotland too!

GP told me not to run anymore - during this trimester at least. And have to go for an early scan on Friday because of all the cramping...

Poppins27 · 20/07/2011 21:29

Haha thanks Chulita, I know it's absolute craziness moaning about being 'ok' and I swear I'm not usually so bloody pathetic.....I guess it's just reassuring to know I don't have to be as sick as a pig for it to still be real!!

ZhenXiang · 20/07/2011 21:42

Poppins with DD I didn't feel bad at all until 7 weeks then it all kicked in with a vengeance, you have plenty of time left for pregnancy symptoms just enjoy their absence while you can!

With that many BFP's it's a cert, I only did one test each with my first pregnancy and one with this one.

Thanks Pixel will badger them tomorrow, I want to know now!!!

pixelpeeper · 20/07/2011 21:48

Re-reading my posts, I appear to be illiterate

Reallea · 20/07/2011 21:50

Cool Pix was just wondering as next week we have our 12 week 8 week scan and wondered if they'd even be able to see anything as they'd be expecting something bigger!

I am so happy. Haven't needed to take another nausea tablet and I have been able to eat so much today! Two more cheese and pickle sandwiches and no less than three toasted muffins! I am clearly making up for not eating anything for 3 days. I feel like a different person!

Other bonus is that DH has gone up north with DS to see his parents and I am home alone with a duvet on the sofa and some sky plus things to catch up on.

Poppins don't be worried about no symptoms, be super happy! I had hardly any and no nausea with DS and he was massive and healthy so makes no odds. No proof of a baby till I saw him at 12week scan. I know it's hard to believe the BFP

happyland I gave up running whilst pg with DS but swapped it for swimming, found you can get a really decent workout in the pool right thru your pregnancy although I had to stop tumble turns around 7 months cos I was kind of losing balance. I even did a mile the day before having him and it turns out I was in labour at the time but I thought they were braxton hicks- especially as I reckon they stopped whilst I was swimming.

pixelpeeper · 20/07/2011 21:50

Happyland why no running? I love jogging, admittedly I am shit at the moment because of pregnancy narcolepsy but I was rather hoping to get back into it
