pixel, fx for you, will be sending lots of positive vibes!

FlipFantasia · 20/07/2011 12:14

reallea yay for keeping a sandwich down! Really hope the tablets work as it sounds awful (and makes me feel guilty for wishing I felt a bit sick Blush)

Pixel sending positive vibes your way Smile

babybrain3 · 20/07/2011 13:01

Will be thinking of you this afternoon pixel

pixelpeeper · 20/07/2011 13:04

thanks all :)

We are all in the same boat I guess - we just want reassurance Grin

LadyciaraTaru · 20/07/2011 13:13

Good news on keeping the food down reallea, thinking of you pixel hope it's all ok :)

pommedechocolat · 20/07/2011 13:44

Fingers crossed for pixel and yay for reallea and cheese and pickle!! Woohoo!
My nausea is pretty minor but I am still shattered, my boobs are huge and SORE.
A friend told me she found out gender at a 10 week private scan. Thinking of doing something similar. Kinda desparate to know which flavour it is for some reason.

Reallea · 20/07/2011 14:27

Fingers crossed pixel! Will be thinking of you.

Just had a nap and when I came into consciousness I wasnt hit by a massive wave of nausea which has been the case for the past week. I am so overjoyed. I took half a tablet more after I threw the first one up but it was definitely in my vomit if not TMI... All white and chalky. I have also done a lot of digging into side effects and am content that chances of effects to the baby are negligible. Am planning on going to work tomorrow for the last 2 days of term... Going to be mayhem!

ShaggingProducesResults · 20/07/2011 14:27

I'd love to know the flavour but DH is adamant that he doesn't want to know and for some reason his decision over-rules mine.... not sure why that is but at the moment I don't have the energy to argue it. Maybe once I feel a bit more "glowy" in the 2nd trimester!!!

Amazing that they found out at 10 weeks - that's crazy early!

broodylicious · 20/07/2011 15:44

hello to Babybrain3 - I'm just down the road in Leicester :) Due on March 24th so will defo be wanting some of your bootees closer to the time! Which hospital will you be going to? Is there one in Loughborough?

Congrats to everyone else! It's so exciting isn't it? :)

citymumtobe · 20/07/2011 15:52

Hi everyone

Can I join?! Found out a couple of weeks ago, am almost 8 weeks along and due on March 3rd (am 32).

Been soooo tired I can hardly move and although I haven't been sick have had tons of food aversions, cravings - can't stand the sight of chicken, but wholemeal bread is my best friend :)

Told a couple of family members and friends but impatiently waiting for my 12 week scan so I can tell work - the not drinking is really hard to navigate and make excuses for. Convinced people are guessing between that and my massive boobs!

x

LadyciaraTaru · 20/07/2011 15:53

We've decided not to find out what the flavour is, I want a surprise and as long as it's a baby and not a pygmy hippo I'll be happy!

Is anyone else in Scotland like me?

Reallea · 20/07/2011 16:08

I'm inoxfordshire. We will find out what we're having. V keen to have a DD as DH is adamant we are stopping at two but also I love the idea of having two boys. If that was the case I just would whine and moan to try again for a DD!

babybrain3 · 20/07/2011 16:15

Hi broody I had Ds in leics royal, but had a bad experience... He was early and had to go to the scbu while they left me on the maternity ward... I had lads of problems trying to get in to feed him in the middle of the night.. I would be waiting in the corridor for ages in my pyjamas after riming the doorbell before anyone came to let me in... That was 9.5 years ago now though, so probably different now. There isn't a maternity dept at loughborough hops, just put patients. Not sure if I can choose but if I can I think I would like to go to qmc in notts.

babybrain3 · 20/07/2011 16:18

I'm not sure if I would be able to not ask what flavour mine is, but would be nice to have a surprise... Me and dp haven't really had a chance to discuss anything like that yet!!!

pommedechocolat · 20/07/2011 16:29

Reallea - snap a bit! We have a dd and dh adamant only two so we're both hoping for a ds in a way and then I, like you, think I'll have more luck persuading him with a third if second is dd2!
We found out with dd at 20 weeks and I loved knowing and naming her in the womb and being able to buy pink things rather than just white, green or yellow.
I'm in West Sussex.

kenobi · 20/07/2011 16:33

I'm not on the stats list (sob!) I'm 35, in London, due Mar 11 and this is no. 2, fingers crossed all goes well.

We will find out the sex but (meanly) not tell anyone! Mwah ha HAH! DH is desperate for a boy, but he adores DD so if we get another daughter I know he'll be fine. We'll stick at two so he'll have to Wink

kenobi · 20/07/2011 16:34

Reallea and pomme - what happens if no. 3 is another of the same? Will you keep going?!

kenobi · 20/07/2011 16:37

LadyCiara - have you seen how cute pygmy hippos are? Not saying you should give birth to one mind, but they are adorable

pommedechocolat · 20/07/2011 16:57

Nope pretty sure 3 is my maximum - I may be perfectly happy with 2. I may struggle to cope with two who knows!!

Reallea · 20/07/2011 17:18

I'd have to see how successful I was at whining and moaning the first time!

I think this will be DD.. Heard the thing about the speedy boy sperm and the slower girl sperm who wait around for the egg to be released? I had heard of this but have looked it up over the last couple of weeks and it's apparently a whole system called the Shettles method. The theory is that boy sperms swim faster than girl sperms as they are lighter because they are carrying the smaller Y chromosome (it's missing the shopping gene, the multitasking gene and other such vital genes). But swimming faster mean they use up their energy reserves quicker and so they die off faster. Girlie sperm are slow to get to the Fallopian tubes and more hardy in the acid environment, and their slower journey means they have longevity and are happy to wait around once they reach their destination and wait for the egg to get released. So the theory goes that if you DTD at ovulation, boy sperm will win the race and you get a boy. But to get a girl you need to avoid ovulation and DTD beforehand and the girl sperm will be waiting for the egg. Which obviously is risky business as too early and the sperm won't be able to make it through the cervical mucus which kind of forms a plug. So anyway the reason i think DD is that DH and I DTD 36 hours before I ovulated (I feel myself ovulate so know this but also had done first ever OPK 12 hours before and it showed surge of LH which is always just prior to ovulation). Unfortunately for me this is flawed as I also DTD about 18 hours after ovulation too so could result in a boy...the egg deteriorates at between 12 and 24 hours so 18 is a tricky one. Anyway none of this I was planning this at the time, and actually I assumed we were too far away from ovulation on both sides to have even conceived so have only been trying to piece together the pieces since!

LadyciaraTaru · 20/07/2011 17:37

I completely agree that they are cute kenobi, very cute indeed but as I don't live in a pond, it might be better if I get a human baby out of this :o, plus I think I might have a hard time explaining to my parents how come their DGC has four legs and a tail!!

Chulita · 20/07/2011 18:16

Right, you lot are far too chatty, I have a hard enough time keeping up with one of my post-natal threads
I think I'm about 5+3 but no symptoms as yet. I got MS at 2 weeks with DD and 7 weeks with DS so I'm thinking maybe in the next fortnight or so. It would be lovely to not get anything this time round!

How did today go pixel?

DS will be 1 on Sunday...where did the year go? I'm still bfing too, never thought I'd be pg and bfing, I'm stupider than I thought. It's started being a bit more sore, maybe I'll have to wean him off soon...

Carlitawantsababy · 20/07/2011 18:38

We dtd the day before and the day after dtd I think..According to this www.chinesegenderchart.info/gender-calculator.php I'm expecting a girl! It's a bit odd as you have to us the lunar calendar so after entering my DOB it tells me I have to look under age 31 (I'm 29) and month 5 (conceived in June). Would love to hear from people who already have DCs on the accuracy of this! Also, my pulse is stronger on my right (another girl sign) but could just be because it's my dominant hand! It's all a bit hippy isn't it?!
It's funny as I'd always said I wanted a girl but as soon as I started TTC I just want a baby and genuinely don't mind which we get! I hope eventually we'd have one of each but not fussed at all on the order!

Carlitawantsababy · 20/07/2011 18:40

chulita ouch, I commend you for bf with pregnant boobs!
