Pixelpeeper, sorry. I am afraid i have hung arround TTC boards for too long that the lingo has seeped into my bones. DPO is Days Past Ovulation, FRER is First Response Early Response - it is a brand of pregnancy test, supposedly super sensitive. BFP is Big Fat Positive, as in positive pregnancy test.

My name is SugarPlumFairy and i am a FertilityFriend addict.

LadyciaraTaru · 19/07/2011 14:32

I got married the day after you Jezzabell on 17th April although it seems a lifetime away now.

Might have to try the travel sickness bands as the waves of nausea seem to be increasing. I'm "working from home" today, and I am working but also resting quite a bit as the tiredness is debilitating. Nobody at work knows yet although they might figure it out sooner rather than later as I've gone completely off coffee but used to drink it by the gallon.

The only people we have told so far is DH's sister and my BF but really want to tell my parents but they have very inconsiderately gone on holiday - meh.

Carlitawantsababy · 19/07/2011 14:37

pixel yeah, I'm having it really easy compared to most people on here - not sick at all really, very mild. I'm in NE London - Turnpike Lane, are you in London too? Plus no children to look after yet!
What kind of dog do you have ladyciara? LOL you don't know your age!
jezzabell and ladyciara I got married on the 29th April (royal wedding day!) Smile

stuffthenonsense · 19/07/2011 14:59

hi to all the newbies!

i am off to a spa hotel at the weekend---until thursday Grin but of course i wont be using half of it, and DH and DD4 are coming too, so its not quite as relaxing as could be hoped but still, no cooking!

my sickness is getting worse, and anything that does seem to stay down is coming out fast the other end (sorry tmi) but i have now lost 1 of those 5 gained pounds, and i am so so tired. it doesnt help that DD4 is up several times a night teething.

tomorrow is the last (half)day before DD2 and 3 finish for school, DD1 finished in may after finishing her gcses. im not sure whether the next 6 weeks are going to be good or exhausting. the older girls are amazing, eg last night DD2 (14) baked cookies and lemon cake whilst the midwife was here, but in return they will kind of expect a taxi service and at least one shopping trip.

not sure when i will have a scan now as i need to cancel the original booking and make a new appointment with my new midwife (which will be sooner i am sure) i am going to refuse all the nuchal fold scan type testing, is anyone else not having that bit?

FlipFantasia · 19/07/2011 16:27

Afternoon ladies

Welcome to everyone who's joined! So exciting to see so many more BFPs Smile

Sugarplum hope the injections work - my SIL has a similar clotting problem so injects through her pregnancies (and has 2 beautiful children to show for it after 3 MCs in a row). My DS is also 16 months and I'm due 21 March - good age gap!

Carlita I'm near you! Stroud Green/Finsbury Park, so pretty close. Are you going to go to the Whittington? I had DS there and rate them pretty highly so will be self-referring to them again. I had wanted a home birth last time so was under the care of the home birth midwife team who were fantastic. Ended up induced at 42 weeks and having a crash section (which is a whole other story!) but the staff were all good and kind. There are also loads of lovely baby stuff around Crouch End, so plenty of ways to enjoy maternity leave!

Well jel of all the ladies off to spas. I work full time hours, but over 4 days so am lucky enough to be off on Thursdays. But I have DS with me then so not necessarily relaxing!

I agree with whoever said the prosaicness of happy married life - last night I fell asleep on the couch and woke up to find DH had cleaned up from dinner, made lunches for today, emptied dishwasher, put out recycling and rubbish and then made me toast. I was so happy it was like he'd revealed a super power!

LadyciaraTaru · 19/07/2011 18:06

My dog is labrador cross carlita so far too big for lap-sitting. I'm guessing with your wedding date you'll be invited to a garden party in 25 years time then to celebrate with the royal couple.

Stuff hope you enjoy the spa, like Flipfantasia I'm very jealous.

pommedechocolat · 19/07/2011 18:32

SugarPlum - I am a fellow injecter!! On my second pregnancy now. Nice to meet you!!

Davinaaddict · 19/07/2011 21:10

Hi all - have updated the stats thread (hope the link works as I've never posted a link before Grin Plus hope I haven't missed anyone off.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1262395-Due-in-March-Stats-only?msgid=26511028#26511028

So glad I'm not alone with the hangover symptoms - am ok with having a hangover when I've earned it, paid for it and drunk it, but not having had as much as a small Wine, I object!

Off to see the midwife for my first appointment tomorrow - can't wait! Feeling a bit of a saddo for being excited at going to the doctors, but I suspect I'm not alone in that Grin

Stuff - we didn't have any of the tests the first time round as we believed it wouldn't have made any difference to us. However I'm not sure just yet about DC2 as we need to consider how much difference it will make to DS1's life, as well Confused I don't believe we'd do anything, but it will give us extra time to prepare. I know that nothing's guaranteed until baby arrives, which is why my head's in a bit of a tizz about it!

Reallea · 19/07/2011 21:18

Am off to docs tomorrow as am so floored by this sickness, have had the day off work, have vomited loads but the problem is the constant horrendous nausea. DH thought it would be a good idea for me to walk into the village with him today for some fresh air, I got about 50yds, had to sit down, then realised I couldn't go any further as I was about to pass out, he had to leave me sitting on the pavement in the care of a little old man whilst he went back to get the car. Have lost 1.5kg this week.

Carlitawantsababy · 19/07/2011 21:36

flip wow, you are near me! We will be moving to Hastings to be beside the seaside before the baby is born so no, not Whittington or Crouch End for me! Anyone in Hastings? Also, has anyone moved mid pregnancy? Does it cause issues with hospitals?
ladyciara that is too big for lap sitting. My silly bully does it too, she thinks she's a handbag dog! Yes, I have heard we are likely to be invited to the palace!
stuff I don't know about all the tests yet, need to do my research! davina I can see why it makes the decision tougher with two!
Soo jealous of the spa ladies! I may go for my 30th in October with DH seeing as it is going to be sober it may as well be indulgent!
realea I'm so sorry to hear you are feeling so rough, I hope it starts to improve for you soon!
I'm so ridiculously thirsty since getting upduffed! Spending as much on drinks whilst out as I was spending on beer beforehand!

KittyRogue · 19/07/2011 21:48

wow so many new people!!! welcome!

withoutanet I live in the Fens but work in Cambridge on Hills Road so know the area pretty well! it looks like we will be going to Hitchingbrooke(?) hospital For baby related things, it's going to be a pain as we are both Cambridge based for work :/

went to the doctor today - will be getting a phone call from the midwife to start everything off on Friday!

We have told DH parents as they are very supportive and loving people - am going to wait till 3 month scan before telling my parents!

symptoms have eased off today - I am avoiding yogurts and milky stuff as I think that was making things loads worse!

Hugs to all x

ShaggingProducesResults · 19/07/2011 22:14

Stuffthenonsense ? sorry to hear you?re feeling so shit. Lovely of the DDs to bake for you! I will definitely be having the nuchal fold test. Was supposed to book my appointments today but the line is only open for 4 hours and I missed it!

Reallea ? that sounds awful, you poor thing. I also have constant nausea but yours sounds so much worse so I guess I had better thank my lucky stars that I?m not throwing up constantly. I hope that the Dr is able to help.

I'm in Bath and so will be going to the Royal United for maternity stuff. Heard mixed reviews about it but as is it on our doorstep it would seem stupid to go anywhere else. DH wanted to look at private maternity hospitals but I pointed out that they are pretty much unheard of outside London and I don't want to have to go up there for my appointments. I might think about getting a doula though. Any experiences???

I was supposed to be working from home today but lay on the sofa for a moment at 3:30 to try and comabt the nausea and woke up 2 hours later... Ooops! Had some bizzare dreams in those 2 hours.

ZhenXiang · 19/07/2011 22:39

Sorry to hear about all those with all day sickness, had that with DD and is very wearing. I managed my energy levels by making smoothie lollipops that gave me the nutrients and fluids slowly so that they didn't hit my stomach and come straight back up. Someone was also telling me that vitamin B6 helps.

Am knackered, was the end of year production tonight so just pulled a 14 hour day. Hope the kids are as tired as me tomorrow and not their ususal rambunctious selves.

Am in West London so will be using Queen Charlottes this time round.

pixelpeeper · 20/07/2011 06:02

Zhenxiang - QCCH for me too :)

itsababslife · 20/07/2011 09:12

Hey everyone, congratulations to you all, may I join you?

I hope i'm not tempting fate by joining this thread as I'm 5+4 wks with baby no.2 although this is 6th time i've been pregnant. I'm feeling quietly positive this time as I've been having lots of symptoms....bloaty nausea, raging hormones (DH bearing the brunt with uncharacteristic stoicism), insomnia, wind Blush and the boobs have gone from a C/D to an E cup already!!! (i'm slightly concerned about this as I'm supposed to be squeezing into a bridesmaids dress at the end of September)

I'm 39 and my EDD is 17th March, 40th B'day is April, so does that mean I just avoid being a "geriatric" mum?! Grin

Reallea · 20/07/2011 09:56

Just back from doc. Turns out I have lost 3k since my visit 2 weeks ago. Have been given tablets to reduce the nausea, except for that I took one and threw it up 10 minutes later. Everyone saying it must be a girl this time as I was so symptom free with DS. I am still freaking out that it's twins!

Ps when DH drove me to the docs I saw that our walk yesterday was about 200yds... Sorry for the exaggeration!

ShaggingProducesResults · 20/07/2011 09:59

welcome itsababslife!! Impressive norkage :)

I've had a dreadful start to my day. Woke up feeling incredibly sick and it took all my energy to drag myself out of bed and get ready for work and out the door without throwing up. Got to work and realised that I'd left my laptop on the kitchen table..... Luckily I've managed to log onto a spare desktop but I have no access to my shared drives or more importantly my bookmarked websites!!

Have had to tell my colleague as I think she has been wondering what the hell is wrong with me (I look like shit and my brain is all over the place, today's laptop was the icing on the cake!!) She is very excited for me and she is TTC at the moment so hopefully she won't be far behind! I feel much better having told her as it was getting pretty hard to disguise!!!

ShaggingProducesResults · 20/07/2011 10:01

reallea sorry xpost. I hope that you manage to keep down some of the pills and that they help a little bit.

Reallea · 20/07/2011 10:58

I just ate a cheese and pickle sandwich! I am so so so happy

babybrain3 · 20/07/2011 11:10

Hi all, can I join too... Just found out am 2-3 wks...Made appt @ docs for next weds. So excited!

I'm starting to feel much more sickly. We told my Mum last night,, as I had to give her an explaination as to why i wasn't drinking-completely out of the ordinary for me!

Had an awful night sleep last night, woke up at 4 and didn't sleep much after that....Will defo have to have a nap on the sofa this afternoon. Luckily i am off work for the rest of the week, as our local holiday club, in their infinate wisdom decided to only open during August so me and Dp have had to take holiday during July.... At least i will be able to get lots of rest, and will be away from suspicious eyes whilst suffereing with sickness!!!

I am 28, this will be my 3rd but Dp's 1st, I live in Loughborough, I think my due date is 27th March, but watch this space until had it confirmed. Interesting fact about me: I have been knitting baby booties to sell on folksy....Must have made me broody!!! Here's a link if anyone's interested...

pixelpeeper · 20/07/2011 11:13

yay for reallea!

I have just booked myself in for a private scan at QCCH. OOOh how exciting!
But I am shitting myself that there is another blood clot/nasty surprise in there. The last few scans I have had last year did not go well :(

Please wish me good luck vibes

ShaggingProducesResults · 20/07/2011 11:26

Pixel - wishing you very positive vibes. When is the scan?

I've got my booking appointment on 5th August (it seems so far away!) and then hopefully the scan the weekend before we go on holiday. All very exciting indeed!!!

Welcome Babybrain!!!

pixelpeeper · 20/07/2011 11:41

today at 3.15!
Shitting myself.

My booking appt is on the 2nd August, seems an age away. I hope I feel more reassured after the scan (presuming they find no nasties).

The problem I had last time is that the scar from my c section was leaking and pooling blood in my uterus, it clotted and my body decided that it wasn't viable to continue. I was advised to have a D&C as to miscarry naturally at 13 weeks would be 'traumatic', so I had the D&C.
D&C didn't go well and left me with a terrible infection and pain for weeks afterwards.

So... the upshot is, I am shitting myself.

ShaggingProducesResults · 20/07/2011 11:59

Oh Pixel try not to stress yourself out too much (easier said then done I know) and I will be thinking of you at 3:15.

Carlitawantsababy · 20/07/2011 12:01

Hooray for realea! it must feel great to eat something and retain it after what you've been going through! Smile
