Found out on sunday that were expecting our first baby in march!! Some online due date calculators say the 8th and some say the 10th so im not quite sure which one is right!!

Ive got my 1st doctors appointment tomorrow to confirm things

Has anyone else got the BFP and wants to celebrate?

Tested positive on Saturday and than on Sunday! My BFP showed up almost immediately so I guess no doubts I'm pregnant, although confirming this oficially at the GP tomorrow! Baby wasn't exactly planned but DH (although not formally) are very excited! And I'm happy that I can blame my exhaustion on something else than work stress :) Other than sore breasts and a bit of dizziness every now and than I'm OK, so I guess so far so good!

Evening ladies

Glad to hear I don't have the only little piggy belly on this thread - I. Can't. Stop. Eating. And I only crave really fatty foods like pastas, creme and cakes. Yummy... cakes...

Had 1st MW home visit which went really well. At one point she randomly looked up and said 'You're having a boy.' Of course DP loved that as he thinks so too. I come from a family of daughters, my mother has 4 sisters and my sister's 2 DC are both girls. I guess I've always assumed that if I ever had a baby it would be a girl. I'm super happy if it's a boy, though. I adore my DSS. Anyone else have any predictions about what you're having? I'm laying my money down on Boy.

p.s. kitty I'm in Cambridge, too. We're kind of central, near Midsummer Common/Grafton Centre. Where are you? Are you planning on using Addenbrookes?

pixelpeeper · 19/07/2011 08:43

I feel a bit better today. Hoping that I just feel a bit better and it's not a sign of something more ominous.

Oops, sorry, welcome aboard new people!
Sugarplumfairy I have to be honest, I haven't got a clue what your acronyms mean, but congrats and I too hope this one is sticky!

I am toying with getting a private scan done. They don't seem mega expensive, the only issue I have is time!

I know what you mean Pixel. I guess that if I felt better than I would be worrying rather than enjoying the lack of nausea. I am sure that it is all fine though and it may be down to what you have eaten over the last few hours (maybe you've found something that suits you?)

I'm still feeling faarking awful! JOY! DH said to me last night "this will go soon though won't it?" and was quite shocked when I pointed out that "yes, it should dissappear after 12-16 weeks!!" I think he struggles to understand what it feels like (not helped by him not being here and only hearing me moan over the phone about how crap I feel!!) but he is starting to get it.

I was initially tempetd by the idea of a private scan but think that I will just wait and have the NHS one before we go away in August. Got to call them today to book in for that and my booking appointment. It's all very exciting indeed!!!

I am really grumpy. Also I can't be arsed with anything - even thinking about something makes me groan with ennui. I think this pregnancy is turning me into Kevin the teenager. I think it should be compulsory for all pregnant women to check into a spa hotel for the first trimester (ALONE) so that I could sleep whenever I liked, go for a gentle swim in a lovely pool, order room service and just generally be peaceful and quiet and not have to deal with other people.

Just read that back and I sound very scary.....Blush

ShaggingProducesResults · 19/07/2011 09:49

I love the idea of a 1st Trimester Spa Hotel. You'd probably find me either in water (for some reason I don't feel sick when I'm lazing in the bath) or lying down!!!

I'm also a grumpy cow - think that it's having to pretend I'm fine at work when actually I just want to tell all the rude people I work with to "Fuck Off" and go and lie in a dark room!!!

pommedechocolat · 19/07/2011 09:56

Ooo not to make you all jealous but on Friday I have day off work (so dd in nursery) and I am going on a day at a spa for a hen do!! Could the timing be any better?! Except of course that everyone will guess when they see my pot belly and no alcohol policy!

pommedechocolat · 19/07/2011 10:33

And I won't be able to go in the sauna or hot tub. Oh dear. It's going to be so obvious isn't it?

ShaggingProducesResults · 19/07/2011 10:36

OK Pomme - I'm jealous!! That sounds really lovely! Am sure that you don;t have a pot belly and you could always pass off the no alcohol thing as a detxo unless like me you have never been known to turn down a drink and then you're screwed!!

kirsty12321 · 19/07/2011 10:37

Can I be added? Grin
Im 19 and I'm due on march 9th with my first.. Eeek, scary and exciting! It's reliving to hear that other people have grown bellies already too! Looking forward to the next 8 months with you ladies!

I just want to be filthy rich then I could do whatever the damn I pleased Grin
Pomme - people keep asking me if I am pregnant, I just say no, too many pies, and I am cutting down on the booze etc as it's so fattening.

yes, I do feel a bit better today. Still ravenous though, and no spotting, so presuming it's nothing sordid.

On the plus side, at least if I am feeling better I can actually work, which is good as I really need the money and I don't like cancelling clients.

pixelpeeper · 19/07/2011 10:39

Welcome Kirsty :)

ShaggingProducesResults · 19/07/2011 10:44

Welcome Kirsty. Shall I set up a thread just for stats that way we don't get lost!!???

Carlitawantsababy · 19/07/2011 12:07

Hello everyone, I'm carlita, I couldn't find you lot as scrolled straight to 'pregnancy', and missed 'antenatal' completely! Duh. I looked for ages for a march thread then set one up before a link was posted to this one! I'll keep the other one going too, as long as people want to stay on it!
I've spent the last few tube journeys catching up on all the posts, great to see so many familiar names here! Smile great too to hear all about how you're all getting on, please excuse the very long post whilst I try to answer all questions in the thread thus far!
I naively thought that early pregnancy symptoms were sore boobs, sickness and nausea, NOT feeling like you've spent the previous day doing stomach crunches (when in fact you spent the previous day eating) so you've all made me feel a lot more normal!
Symptoms so far for me are - sore, full boobies, some mild nausea and the stomach aches. I've also had terrible wind in the evenings, i'm blaming it on the baby ("oh dear, sorry, thy naughty baby!") Most noticeable though is the extreme happiness!
Something about me - I like dressmaking and have started making babies clothes over the last month or so, I have a very good excuse to do it as my sister is expecting twins in November/December but some will be for my baby!
What we're calling it- I asked DH last night who looked at my quizzically and said "the baby?" !
I live in London at the moment with my husband (married at the end of April) and dog (English bull terrier) and cat. We're DIYing at the moment so that we can sell our London flat and move to a house in Hastings (by the sea and by one set of grandparents).
Phew, congratulations if you managed to read all of that!

Carlitawantsababy (29) no 1 due 23rd march

Hello Carlita :)
Where in London are you?
Glad to hear you aren't suffering TOO much!

kenobi · 19/07/2011 12:17

Hello everyone - 6 weeks today which makes me about 11 March I think.

Bleargh I feel awful. Like having a permanent hangover.

Plus I work ft, have a DD who still wakes up at night AND have to socialise for work. This is going to be a loooooong pregnancy!

(well I hope it is anyway, short no good Sad)

pixelpeeper · 19/07/2011 12:28

Hello Kenobi, I hear ya!
I work ft, 2 DS's (4 and almost 2), and run a business. I am ~exhausted~

kenobi · 19/07/2011 12:36

High five Pixel! (or perhaps pathetic wave so we can both save energy...?!)

Am lucky that I have a lovely DH. I lay pathetically on the sofa last night until he got back from work, then made cow eyes at him until he cooked. It was a tortilla - and it was good - then he washed up AND wiped all the surfaces.

My hero. Sigh. If I had told my younger self that married happiness was a man who washed up after he cooked, I think I would have expired from the prosaicness of it all!

LadyciaraTaru · 19/07/2011 12:42

Hello everyone, I joined Carlita's thread in pregnancy but thought I would join this one too.

Found out I was pregnant a couple of weeks ago, due 10th March or thereabouts. I'm 31, got married in April and started trying straight away so me and hubby are thrilled that I've managed to fall so quickly.
I'm ridiculously excited and am finding keeping this a secret very very hard!
Symptoms wise, no sickness as such yet but waves of nausea mid afternoon, ridiculously tired and spend most of my time either sleeping or sat on the toilet lol!

Plus my dog is driving me nuts as she wants to sit on my knee all the time and lick my face, which would be fine is she wasn't a labrador - ouch!

LadyciaraTaru · 19/07/2011 12:47

And very pathetically I don't know how old I am, actually 32 Blush

pixelpeeper · 19/07/2011 12:47

LOL!!

ShaggingProducesResults · 19/07/2011 13:57

kenobi - i hear you on the permanent hangover thing. TO think that I was looking forward to enjoying being free of those for a minimum of 8 months!!! Grin

Jezzabell · 19/07/2011 14:05

Hello all and welcome to all the new people. LadyciaraTaru I also got married in April, on 16th, what date were you?

Feeling rough today. it's my last day at work before a week off, although I'm sort of working (at a festival) for the next 4 days. Think i I might go and ask my line manager if i can go at 3pm (I told her just after I found out incase i needed any time off), hopefully she'll be sympathetic and then i can go home and lie on the sofa. Getting waves of sickness today and feel really full of wind. I got some cheap travel sickness bands off ebay and they seem to help, look a bit funny, but hopefully no one at work really knows what they are!

Wish I was at home.....
