there is no way I can be 7+2.

This is a 16+5 body.

Arse and bumsticks.

stuffthenonsense · 18/07/2011 11:04

Ha pixel and pomme, I too have gained 5lb (and 6cm round waist!!!!) but as pomme says, as long as I eat I can keep the vomitting to a reasonable level. I'm fairly chilled about though as with my last it got to a point where I could barely keep anything down and I think that the cravings early on had built up a store of what baby needed.
Also, I am really struggling with the tiredness at the moment, if DD4 naps before we have to go out I will cave in too, but in the meantime I am so needing the energy boost.
Midwife is coming to our house tonight. Its such a huge step forward, for me the pukiness and tiredness makes it feel real, but this is like the outside woirld acknowledging it.

I'm expecting a new phone to arrive today, hope its easier to type on than this one.

pixelpeeper · 18/07/2011 11:11

you have both gained 5lbs as well??

Do you know, that makes me feel LOTS better. The thing is, all the stuff I would normally exist on (water, salads, fish) are making me feel ill and so now it's toast, potatoes, fizzy drinks, pretty much whatever is in reaching distance.

I am so gutted as it took me a long time to lose weight and only 2 weeks to pile a load of it back on, but the thought of trying to eat a nice low carb salad makes me feel a bit pukeworthy. So whilst I feel for you other 5lbers... I am also glad I am not alone!!

Davinaaddict · 18/07/2011 11:39

Hi all - please can I join?! I'm 32 and expecting DC2 on 8th March. DS is 17 months so we'll have a gap of 2yrs 2 months. Got my first mw app tomorrow so looking forward to that.

Symptoms so far are lots of nausea but no actual sickness yet, thank goodness (sorry for those that are suffering). Exhaustion is also kicking in - not good, as I travel quite alot in my job so I'm normally tired anyway!

We were hoping to keep it quiet until we got to 12 weeks (or until it was too obvious to hide Grin), but unfortunately I got busted by 2 of my best mates on Saturday at an Ann Summers party at my house - no good excuse for not drinking for the second week running! So we've told DPIL, DS&BIL, DN so far & need to tell my side of the family ASAP but they live miles away so might have to do it by phone Sad. Hopefully they'll all stick to their promises of keeping it quiet!

If some kind person wouldn't mind adding my stats to the list next time we do an update that would be fab thanks - on my phone at the moment & can't get it to copy all the details!

Hope everyone is feeling good (or at least not too bad!Wink) today.

MrsCog · 18/07/2011 12:34

Hi everyone, thank you all for your kind words at the end of last week. I've been lying low since Friday as was very worried, but also unable to demand a scan at A&E but didn't want you all to thing I was ignoring your good and thoughtful advice.

Sudo really sorry to hear your news - take care of yourself.

The spotting continues, but I've been for a scan this morning (dildocam - not as bad as I was expecting) and my little acorn is still there, and is 7.6mm long and has a heartbeat so after convincing myself it was dead, I'm now in shock!

So I'm 6+3 today, still very tentative though after this experience.

I too have changed my normal very healthy diet in to one of carb snacking - I can't remember the last normal meal I ate!

pommedechocolat · 18/07/2011 12:39

Mrscog that's great news what a relief that must be for you

pommedechocolat · 18/07/2011 12:41

Also just to add am constantly eating bread, crackers, huge chunks of cheese and litres of milk. Also having some chocolate and normal meals.

I am a pig.

The only healthy thing that doesnt make me gag are those innocent veg pots.

Gingersnap88 · 18/07/2011 12:44

pommedechocolat- thank you for the well wishes. They did indeed use the internal camera thing (strange experience) and I have been booked for another scan on the 29th of July. I was quite upset at first, especially as the morning sickness seems to come and go but I'm trying to remain positive for the little one. I just hope there's a heartbeat at the next one!

pixelpeeper · 18/07/2011 12:46

oh I really am in good company!
I just had a burger and chips for lunch. If you knew me, you would think I had a personality transplant. I am more lentils and lettuce.

I no longer feel alone!

Ok - is anyone else buying mat gear because I tell you, this skinny combats are suffocating me

pixelpeeper · 18/07/2011 12:47

glad to hear good news from the dildo-cammers!

FlipFantasia · 18/07/2011 13:43

Great news MrsCog - must be such a relief!

Gingersnap will keep my fingers crossed your next scan is positive.

So funny reading what others are eating Smile. I piled on a stone during my first trimester with DS and would love to avoid that this time. Though considering I'll already starting to go off my normal diet not sure how I'll manage...

Reallea · 18/07/2011 14:53

Hi all, fab news mrscog, I am so pleased to hear the scan went well!

Well as of today everyone at work knows I am pregnant as the nausea and vomitting has got so bad it was so obvious and as soon as I confessed (yes after being accused of being pregnant yet again) everyone just said goooo home!!!!! So I have just had an amazing 2 hour sleep and the house is empty with DH at work and DS at nursery (chickenpox now just scabs).

I am so jealous of everyone's eating as I would love to eat anything right now but I just feel like vomitting and when i do eat something other than just a cracker I throw it back up again. Looked in the mirror and I am looking a bit thinner but honestly not worth it...

And to think I didn't get any nausea with DS!

stuffthenonsense · 18/07/2011 14:58

Mrscog, fantastic news! So happy for you. 7.6mm, wow! I guess at 6w my litle one is not much different. I try to picture it, size etc, but. Its difficult yet. I remember with the last one, in my head she was always a transparent baby, like in the scans, right up until she was born. It was almost a shock to see skin.

I used my next vip slot last week to order maternity clothes, waistbands, even very loose ones, make me feel sick.
I am eating pretty healthy meals, all nutritionally designed for pregnancy and trying not to eat unhealthy snacks, but toast is such a quick and convenient nausea buster, I just can't help myself.

ShaggingProducesResults · 18/07/2011 15:01

Sudo sorry to hear your news Wishing you all the luck in the world for next month. Will be thinking of you.

MrsCog really pleased to hear that the dildocam showed good results. Keeping everything crossed that things are fine from now on.

On the weight gain front. I seem to have put on almost 1kg already.... which isn't good. Think it's all boobage though as the rest of me looks the same norkage already straining at bigger bras so it looks like a shopping trip is due in the near future

I can't work it out as have totally lost my appetite most of the time as I feel like I could throw up at any moment. I actually think I'd feel better if I was actually throwing up rather than spending the whole day feeling like I might do.

ShaggingProducesResults · 18/07/2011 15:04

Sorry Reallea -xp. Certainly did not mean to trivialise the vomiting....

BitsyVonMuffling · 18/07/2011 16:55

Am not caving into the scales just yet- I'll weigh on Wednesday Hmm. I can just see me piling al the weight back on too. But at least I lost it. It'd be far worse if I started this pregnancy at the weight I was.
GP is booked for tomorrow morning so fingers crossed. No more blood, but I am going to ask them to check my iron as I know that I tend towards being anaemic and I really look quite washed out at the mo.

pommedechocolat · 18/07/2011 18:02

Went to GP this pm and my blood pressure is very low which explains why I feel so awful. Had totally forgotten this happened with dd - with her when the midwife came to do her home visit I fainted on her. Opps!
Fingers crossed for you Gingersnap.
With you on the boobage Shagging. Am now falling out of all my bras!

KittyRogue · 18/07/2011 18:32

many thanks for the warm welcome all!
I hope everyone is keeping well!
no morning sickness for me yet, but my appetite isn't there any more and my back and belly are killing me! off to the doctors tomorrow morning to get everything underway! Exciting times!

Where abouts are you all from? I live near Cambridge, was wondering if there are any locals?

LittleBumbleBee · 18/07/2011 19:48

hi everyone! i seem to be more of a reader of this thread than a writer! but am struggeling to work out all the abriviations such as ... DC2 and DH etc is there a thread that i can read up on these?
oh by the way i am 24, this is my first pregnancy although we have my partners 3yr old daughter live with us xx

SantaLucia · 18/07/2011 20:01

Loving the crappy diet and weight gain chat. Thank goodness its not just me. Although I have gone off chocolate and coffee (my two chief pleasures in life) I can't stop eating white bread with butter, crisps, digestives and anything rice or potato based. The only healthy things I fancy are bananas and apples. DC1 said to me tonight - "look at your tummy mummy - its really big, is there a baby in there?" which was kind of humiliating and lovely all at the same time.

My plan is to start my ante-natal exercise as soon as I've stopped feeling like crap and also to start eating loads of nutritionally excellent food. Watch this space.....

7+5

SantaLucia · 18/07/2011 20:04

ps. MrsCog so pleased you heard the heartbeat. Lovely news. Fingers crossed for everyone else.

KittyRogue · 18/07/2011 20:20

Spoken too soon about morning sickness! Just had my first bout during dinner :/ I'm kind of glad it's happened as it means it's all real, but I'm sure I won't be saying this after a few days!! @santalucia DC means Darling child I believe, DS darling son DD darling daughter. That's all I have figured out/been told so far.

I'm guessing it'll all make more sense as time goes by!

We haven't told anyone yet as my sister-in-law miscarried in March (@3months) and she is the same age as me and actually trying for a baby so we don't want to upset her. We also want to have pictures to show everyone! (I'm also hoping she will announce that she's preggers just before/after me)

I haven't weighed myself yet, don't want to see how much I have gained! I have noticed trousers are getting tighter, and only one boob has gotten huge!! Here's hoping the other one catches up!

pixelpeeper · 18/07/2011 20:57

New ladies... If you scroll to the bottom of the page there is a link for acronyms.
Can always spot a MN newbie by the kisses at the end of posts though Wink

I have chosen a name for bump. It is now called...
Fatty lala.
On account of what it is doing to me. The beast.

I do have a pair of jordanesque tits though. Small mercies.

Oh and I'm west London (for those asking, forgive me, am shit with names)

TheSugarPlumFairy · 18/07/2011 21:00

greetings,

hope it is OK if i join this thread. Got faint BFP's from 9DPO but had a wobble after doing s FRER test at 14 DPO that seemed to come up way lighter than 9DPO. Thought i was headed for a chemical but i retested with another brand and got a nice fat pink line. Think it was a dodgy FRER (and also i am insane).

Anyway, went to the doctors today to officially confirm. Due March 23rd. This will No2 for us. My DD is 16 months.

I have a history of miscarriage. Before DD i had 3 in a row and was eventually diagnosed as having lupus anticoagulant antibodies which is essentially a clotting disorder. I have to have a viability scan at around 6 weeks and then have daily heparin injections to keep the clotting under control.

Really hoping we have ourselves a sticky bean here. So far so good but keeping everything crossed.

Congrats to everyone!

happyland · 18/07/2011 21:07

Arghh feel so sick. Went for a run this evening (first since finding out) and think I over did it. Sore tummy, nauseas and generally rough. Need to exercise to keep the weight gain to a minimum though..
