Hey Kristina, Your DD really does sound adorable, bless her! Is she looking fwd to new arrival? Wonder if Annabelle will have be given the same attention when her little brother is here! (could be tricky though if she asks for different colour) LOL.
Congratulations on the new car, very practical indeed!

Thank you ladies, Diddle, MincePee, Rodeo, George..Kristina and I will be feeling like celebrities pretty soon....get me outta here!!!

Well after waddling to Blockbuster am about to put feet up and watch a couple of movies..see ya all in the morn xx

KristinaM · 01/12/2005 05:21

Thnak you chacha. Yes she does have her moments...she is really loking forward to the new baby, tho at 5 she is old enough to remember Ds1 's arrival. So when adults ask her things like :

*So woudl you like a baby brother or sister?"

she usually replies

" oh you dont get to choose - its already decided so you just have to take what you get!" Sometimes she solemnly informs then that mums' and dads' dont get to choose either, its God who decides, right at the start , when the baby starts to grow inside the mum!.

Or when people tell her " wont it be fun having a new baby?" she tells them that actualy new babies are a bit boring - all they do is cry and feed and need changes, and that they aren't much fun until they are about 6 montsh old!!!

She always is surprised that adults dont knwo these things! we have explained that they are just making polite conversation.......

Yesterday, as I was stuffing my face on chocolate or bisciuts, DH commented that i was feeding the baby well !!!!! DD told him in a withering tone that in fact the baby was fed through the cord inside me.......

Kristingle · 01/12/2005 05:25

Oh forgot its 1 December - need to use my Christmas name

jinglediddle · 01/12/2005 07:48

any news ladies???

Kristingle · 01/12/2005 09:53

Nope - they are all off to hospital .....except me [self pitying emoticon]

meanwhile i have been up since 5 with teething baby & weak bladder, then couldn't get back to sleep. Not that i expect any of you new mums to have sympathy for me - at least I havent got leaky boobs or stitches somewhere or other .....

Note to self - must stop referring to 18 month old hulking great toddler as a "baby". Though every day i look at him and think " Soon you wont be my little baby any more" . How is that!!!! You think it would have occured to me before now....

LilJ · 01/12/2005 10:29

OK it's going to be a December baby ...

DH said to me last night that I've ruined Xmas for the baby forever now - I almost crucified him! I told him to talk to the bump as the Mum ain't listening.

Woke up very early this morning with terrible pains in my hip joints making it impossiblt to get comfortable. Hoping it's just another sign of impending birth.

Going to try and do some Xmas shopping today - unlike yesterday where I stayed in bed until midday reading a book and then watched daytime telly until DH came home. I'm getting a bit tired of the 'Oh my when are you due?' questions so I may start saying 'Due? Due for what?' But I don't think anyone will actually believe I'm anything but very very pregnant.

Let's get those 'Due in November, born in December' babies going girls!

J xx

ChaCha · 01/12/2005 10:49

LOL, we're all still here then?!

Kristina, I keep forgetting that you have a DS who is younger than DD...duh! DD sounds really smart, I like her answers, she seems very clued up. My type of five year old!

Hi to LilJ, take it easy whilst shopping, I was exhausted after hitting the city centre the other day.

I guess SS is a November mummy then. Is that it then or am I forgetting someone...Kristina, Lilj and Chacha left?

Got the consultancy at 3.30, wish me luck, am actually looking fwd to it!!! Did have a friend tell me last night that inductions are horrible and I must avoid it best I can...needless to say, felt really good after that

40+5

jinglediddle · 01/12/2005 11:18

chacha - keep
good luck for your consultancy, sure it will all be fine.

kristina & lilj - thinking of you both too, hope your little babies show their faces soon.

Londoner · 01/12/2005 11:27

Good morning gorgeous girls!

OOOh, I'm so excited about your babies, wondering what you're going to have, and December is a cool month to be born in!
Kristingle, your daughter sounds great, a real philosopher, nothing gets past her eh?! And I still referred to my two middle children as 'the babies' up until quite recently (prob up until when 4 & 7), definitely 18 months is way still a baby, nothing wrong with you calling him that in my book.... they're still babies when they're 3 and 4 in my opinion.... of course a lot depends on how they behave...
LilJ, sorry to hear you were so uncomfortable last night, try a sheepskin they're magic for sleeping on.... really spread the weight and save your skin and bones from suffering all the weight on one place.... and good for putting in baby's pram/bouncy chair too.
Looking forward to hearing from sarahsausage! ChaCha, good luck with your consulant appt this afternoon! Sorry to hear your 'friend' put the frighteners on you re: inductions..... some people are going to tell you horror stories no matter what their experience was, remember that... whatever birth experience this friend had had, they probably would have a negative view to express anyway.... Giving birth is great ChaCha... and the joy and relief afterwards is just wonderful, both physically and emotionally, you will be okay. Why not talk your thoughts through with the consultant?

ChaCha · 01/12/2005 11:43

Hi Diddle

Thanks Londoner, that sounds like a good idea. Will definitely have a chat with him this afternoon.

Am getting really fed up with my phone. Questions like 'Are you in labour yet?' via text should really be quite funny..can't imagine my mobile being to hand at a time like that. I'm such a grumpy fart this morning...don't mind me!

ChaCha the Grump ..

ohKARMAallyefaithfulMOTHER · 01/12/2005 14:19

Morning to the new dec ladies.

Sending lots of imminant labour vibes to you all.

Chacha, Its true what Londoner says, that feeling when your baby is placed in your arms is the best feeling in the world. The first time you look at them only lasts for a fleeting moment so you must remember how you felt right then.

Hope sarah has had her baby & can't wait to her from her.

KristinaM & LilJ, your bumps are just too damn comfortable right now! Well, for the baby that is.

Hope to see you all soon in the postnatal thread.

Kristingle · 01/12/2005 14:53

Thnaks girls for all the good wishes and encouragement. Especially as you all have your hands full at the moment - its so kind of you to remember us!!!!

Lil - just ignore your Dh commenst about Christmas - Dd was born mid Jan and its not ruined Christmas for her! When our children are older there will be so many Christmas shows etc to do for their birthadys/parties. Its not like they are coming on Christmas day!!!!! Hope the shopping isnt too tiring

chacha - how did you get on at your appointment? Next time you get a text like that, i dare you to text back that you are having contractions every 3 min and do you think I should go to the hospital?

Busyalexsmummy · 01/12/2005 15:12

Hi girls! have i missed any birth anouncements? -for those of you still waiting-it wont be long now!
Biggest tip- Do some B'ding, and afterwards, sit with your bum in the air for 5-10mins so the little swimmers are sat right on your cervix - I really didnt feel like B'ding but thats what we did last sat morning and thats what set me off!

Things not too bad here, alfie is pretty good so far, sleeps about 5 hrs at night!!! Alex loves him to bits and is all over him, although still very rough! hes constantly kissing him and wanting to hold him and keeps running off with alfies hat/mitts/socks!!
Feeding is going ok, although he keeps pulling off without letting go, so I now have nice scabby nipples(ewwww!) and boobs that feel like their on fire!!
Feel ok, slightly depressed, but i think thats because of the weather and the fact theres not alot to do/anywhere to go, everyone seems to be staying away too, we've not really had any visitors or phonecalls which is bizzarre as we were inundated with calls/cards/visitors when alex was born, so it seems a bit weird at the moment.

birth went really well, started contractions 8pm saturday night(dp was out watching rugby and came back p*ssed right up at 9.40pm!!!??!-at which point i sent him straight to bed to sober up) and decided at 6am sunday that it was getting a bit much so took alex off to robs aunties house and rang MIL to say it was all go. she arrived about 7.30am and we set off for hossie, it was really cold and foggy and lots of black ice on the road so it took us about 1hr to get there, I had a VE and was told i was 4-5cm dilated.Put tens on and went off for a walk and breakfast then back to check progress, still the same so decided to go into town shopping(!?!) walked around town whilst contractions were 4 mins apart(very surreal)-you should of seen the peoples faces in the lift in the car park when i was contracting-they got out that lift quicker than their legs could carry them! lol!!!

got back to hossie, and after a hour or two, got into birthing pool and commenced gas and air(i love that stuff!!) sat in pool watching telly!!
Anyhow, alfie was born 6.18pm, after only pushing for about 15mins(not like 1hr40mins with alex!-thankgod)
I feel human as I managed to get away without stitches-YAY!!! It was a better experience than with Alex, but really not sure I'll ever want to do it again!

Liz x Alfie 4days old!

Kristingle · 01/12/2005 16:59

Congratulations BAM and welcome Alfie! Hope Alex is coping with the new arrival

I tried your tip Liz, about getting a second sweep. But it didnt work for me.....have already tried Bd and its not working either....

ChaCha · 01/12/2005 17:31

Hi Ladies,

Just getting my head around the idea that I'm going to be induced tomorrow afternoon!
Saw a fantastic consultant and had a long talk with one of the m/w's. They don't want me to wait any longer due to the 'supposed' size of baby and due to the fact that my cervix hasn't even opened yet which was quite surprising..found the internal quite painful, I'm such a big baby!!!

Well, part of me is quite happy and relieved that I know i'm going in tomorrow and that's that, the other part of me is really scared and feel like i'm entering a whole new world.

Kristina and Lilj - Hope you are quick to follow, you may even have your bubs before me! I'm hoping that it won't be long once i'm in. I'm really waffling now, I'm going to have a meal with DH and do a few bits and pieces afterwards. Pls fingers crossed/pray for me.

Love M xx

jinglediddle · 01/12/2005 18:58

chacha - you know i can't say i know how you feel, but stay calm about tomorrow, and enjoy it, if thats at all possible. you have the most wonderful thing to look forward to once its all over. You are blessed to be in the position you are, your little one will be with you shortly.

lunarx · 01/12/2005 19:30
