Ha! I made it to the next thread.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Baby2b · 24/08/2011 11:29

I keep getting your names confused Confused. Why have I started that?!Grin

Baby2b · 24/08/2011 11:33

It does sound like ligaments or the baby pressing against something. I thought I had spd at one point and even went to physio. Then baby moved and haven't had that pain since. Smile

KateeTheBump · 24/08/2011 11:49

I had quite a lot of pain towards the top of the bump at one side or another for a few weeks, and I think it was the uterus putting pressure on my ribcage, touch wood seems to have subsided now (and bras definitely tighter so I think my ribs have been pushed out the way!) could it be that? I had it coupled with a similar pain round my mid-back. Hope it goes away soon! My little wriggler has now learned to jab, which bloody hurts! Grin especially when he does it into the side of the bump which is resting on the bed, ow!

Reflexology was great, trying to get 6 sessions in before d-day as that's supposed to help reduce labour time etc. so on session 4, session 6 will be on the first day of my leave and will be a bit more vigorous! She's also agreed in principle, if she's not booked up, to come and do some in the early stages of labour, which I think would be lovely Smile It certainly does make me feel looser and freer for a couple of weeks, so worth every penny!

Enjoy your acupuncture val!

I've had a good rest today as working at home, so not tied to the desk in the same way as in the office, good for the sanity as well!

Eskarina · 24/08/2011 12:28

Morning all.
Nickel when is your next midwife appointment? Can you go to a drop in to get pains checked out?

Congrats on the house val. When do you move? I've started to get annoyed with the natal hypnotherapy woman. I don't want to breathe in golden light. I am not more relaxed as the date set for my baby's arrival has passed. I don't want to be on a bloody beach [grumpy]. However I hope you found it helpful

Had my 3rd sweep today. Saw the mw from Friday and she still maintains I'm over 3 cm dilated. I don't believe her. Can have a final sweep this Friday then there's nothing for it but induction in Sunday.

nickelbabe · 24/08/2011 12:40

next appt is the 1st september.
I'm not worried because they're not constant pains.
If they keep up, though, I might look at dropping in.
:)

nickelbabe · 24/08/2011 12:41

plus, i did move my humongous knickers down away from my waist and the pain has goen now Confused think i might need more humongous knickers! Grin

nickelbabe · 24/08/2011 12:41

your baby's just enjoying it in there too much. It's your own fault [:P]

KateeTheBump · 24/08/2011 13:25

Remember to breathe with your belly esk! Wink

Having always worn high leg knicks I have now resorted to short style ones in a size bigger as my usual ones were chafing the bit between legs and the v, if that makes any sense? I did buy some parachutes humungous ones, but they come up to my belly button so show above all my waistbands! Oh boy did DP and I laugh when I pulled one out of the packet - "they'll never fit!"... oh yes they do...! Grin

Forgot to add my congrats val on the house completion, that must be such a weight off your mind!

Esk - just a thought, but remember they will only be offering induction, if you agree to daily/every other day monitoring you should be able to hang in there a bit longer if you don't want to be induced - they will pile on the pressure, but they can't force you!

KateeTheBump · 24/08/2011 15:48

Nobody else around this afternoon?

Hey, who's going to start the next one? Only 40 posts left!

vallinnapod · 24/08/2011 16:23

I'm here! Acupuncture all good, then lunch with my DH and bestie! Chickened out of asking her to prick all the inducing points today as decided I really would like to get away this weekend Grin My next session with her is next Thursday (1 Sept) - we are going to go for it then as I will be 39+4 and bub will be in the next school year if he arrives as a result of it!

Thanks for all the house congrats - it is a big relief. Just so excited to move in. Not sure when it will be. We complete on 2 Sept but want to get the kitchen and bathroom done and possibly whatever else we can afford as a baby in a dusty, building site of a house may not be so good! In my head I have mid-October at the latest.

As for pants - and maternity trousers come to that, I cannot stand anything clinging over my bump. Have some great knickers from Emma Jane that sit just below it. Plus I have several pre-pregnancy thongs that still fit...not hugely sure how, clearly I am a slut and they were very low to begin with Wink!

Absolutely shattered here. Trying not to nap as was awake from 4am this morning but will let myself go to bed very early :)

PS don't worry about the name mix ups B2B, it's called pregnancy brain for a reason!

nickelbabe · 24/08/2011 16:25

I'm here!
(i'm always here!)

just uploading a picture of me with bump to the computer. Grin

nickelbabe · 24/08/2011 16:26

oooh, there are some pics from the may MN meetup on here too!

nickelbabe · 24/08/2011 16:35

vallinna - i'm the exact opposite - i like knickers that go right up to my armpits! Grin
i hate it when clothes don't go over the bump, especialyl when they sit below - i think Isbn is quite low-hanging, so it feels like they're falling down Shock

Eskarina · 24/08/2011 17:44

Katee in other circumstances I'd be going along with postponing induction but I'm strangely keen to get baby into this school year so it has to be out before sept 1st!

vallinnapod · 24/08/2011 18:16

LOL esk - I booked a pregnancy massage for tomorrow evening - surely that guarantees having a baby?!

Baby2b · 24/08/2011 20:18

Hello, had an internal this afternoon and felt very delicate after it. Cervix closed so just the stretch and no sweep, very sore!

For the last hour and a half I have been having what I think are contractions between 5-10 minutes apart...eek!

vallinnapod · 24/08/2011 20:40

Ohhhhh, fingers crossed they are something 'real' (you know what I mean!) [smile)

KateeTheBump · 24/08/2011 20:50

Just booked my birth pool in a box Grin its going to take up the whole of the dining room... and that's the 'mini' one, gulp...

Fingers crossed b2b !

vallinnapod · 24/08/2011 20:55

Envy Katee. Would have loved a HB.

Baby2b · 24/08/2011 21:19

Not actually sure what to do with myself. Still coming reasonably regularly and are like very strong period pains, but not had a show or anything. Any grads about?

Not sure if I should stay active to see if they get stronger or to take a bath and try to get some rest Confused.

KateeTheBump · 24/08/2011 21:29

If it is early stages you're probably best saving your energy and getting some sleep baby2b, bath and bed won't do any harm - and you'll know if its the real deal if they don't stop I guess.

Good luck Smile

Baby2b · 24/08/2011 21:37

They are coming around every 7 minutes now but not unbearable. Will update tomorrow if nothing has happened.

vallinnapod · 24/08/2011 22:00

As someone with no experience whatsoever I would say relax. Not too long in the bath as that can slow things right down but try and relax and get some sleep (if someone could explain how this is remotely possible when you are excited at meeting your baby that would be great Grin) This stage could be quite long (sorry, that is a supportive comment, honest!)

Sending you uber positive vibes xxxxxx

vallinnapod · 24/08/2011 22:01

PS Just did my natal hypo but kept laughing at the golden light after your comment earlier Grin

Eskarina · 25/08/2011 01:49

Sounds very promising Baby. I'm up at this hour because I'm having similar. Am about to fire up contraction timer app to see what's going on. Though having got out of bed it's calmed down.

Good luck baby2b. Hopefully we'll both have something to report very soon
