weevie I cant believe someone would so cruel and calculated to poisin the water in the parks. Absolutely shocking!
Your OH will be in for a big surprise when he gets home :) Its funny you mention Lemon Drizzle, I caught a wif of lemon earlier today and it really put me in the mood for some. Planning a wee trip to M&S soon to get some of their lemon drizzle cake, its yum!

This is DC2 and never had strep either.

Fish is the feeling generally in the same area? It quite probably is baby. Its like a tickle/flutter feeling. I felt DD from about 11/12 weeks and was told that I must be really intune with my body as first timers dont normally feel anything until about 16 weeks. Iv been feeling this butterfly since about 8 weeks. Its lovely and reassuring Smile
Im really looking forward to Dd's reaction to feeling baby move/kick

blue They are usually quite encouraging to keep you mobile whilst in labour. They kept asking if I wanted to go for a walk, but everytime I moved I was sick so they stopped asking after a while.

fifitrixabelle78 · 23/06/2011 21:05

weevie - there must be some sick f*s near you- that's horrible. My beautiful cat is my furbaby and if anyone did anything to harm him I'd see them hanged!

Had booking appt and dating scan today and DH and I were so bowled over to see the little one seemingly healthy and wriggling. The don't yet do nuchal in our trust but the sonographer said it "looks nice and thin" - guess that'll have to do till screening bloods at 17/40. She agreed with my EDD so we seem on target for Hogmanay but, if it's ok with you ladies I'm going to leave it as 1/1/12 as I'd like to stay in this club.

Fingers crossed for happy scans for all you lovely ladies who have them soon.

knittiekitty · 23/06/2011 21:19

We had the scan today, all seemed well and I feel a tiny bit more relaxed at last yay! The baby was lying awkwardly and the sonographer rocked me side to side with surprising gusto and it seemed to wake him/her up as the little legs and arms starting waving about! The nuchal measurment was normal so no counselling and urgent referrals this time, which I think we'd both been almost expecting. Dd not too impressed with the photo which I can understand although you can see toes and fingers which we think is brilliant!
I've moved forward to 2nd Jan due date which hopefully means the neverending nausea might tail off sooner too?!
Blueeyed did you have any symptoms of strep b? I haven't come across it although I've heard it's a routine test in the US.
Fishandlilacs I keep feeling flutters too although when I could see him/her moving on the screen this morning I couldn't feel a thing so I'm not sure any more! With dd the first fluttering was at about 15 weeks just as I was drifting off to sleep.

Conchita · 23/06/2011 22:46

Glad to hear people are feeling better. I reached 12 weeks on Tuesday and seem to properly have my normal appetite and energy back. It's nice to feel more like 'me' again. Bit of a fraught week trying to get hold of family medical records ahead of seeing a genetic counsellor. feels like nobody will help us and we're being fobbed off by people who can't be bothered to look. Fortunately the people related to my actual care have all been very good so far.
sorry to hear about the strep b blueeyed but I guess it's great that they have caught it and you'll get the right treatment
fishandlilacs I think I felt a fluttering yesterday too and it definitely wasn't wind! but midwife said the uterus would be moving up (eew) around this time so I wondered if it was that?

knittie congrats on the good scan!

My lovely cousin sent us this book for dd. She had it when expecting dc2 and her boys both love reading years later. We'v read it numerous times since getting it yesterday. Lovely story.

Nanny01 · 24/06/2011 12:13

I am getting nervous now as my scan is on Monday. Just got to get through the weekend. At least the tiredness is easing a little now and I don't feel so sick every morning. The bizare dreams are though; ranging from the very scary to the wierd.

Moobee · 24/06/2011 13:21

I think quite a few of us have scans on Monday - hoping all goes well for everyone! Good news on the scan knittiekitty. It sounds funny that you were rocked to wake them up.

I had a bad dream last night too nanny01, I woke up at 5.30 and stayed awake so I could leave it.

My long day in Geneva yesterday wasn't so bad - it was long and tiring, but I took lots of opportunities to nap and I didn't throw up during my talk which was excellent. :)

Hope everyone has a good weekend (I'm off to see Glee, yay!)

fishandlilacs · 24/06/2011 17:59

I'm glad i'm not the only one feeling flutters-I have been poo pooed on chat saying it cant possibly be but it's definatley something-it's not strong enough for a muscle twitch-it's more like someone is pressing/tapping under my ribs lightly with one finger all across and down one side of my womble and yes I could feel it when I could see the wriggler on the screen.

Mum2be79 · 24/06/2011 18:49

Still no scan date yet on Monday I'll be 13 weeks according to MW. I have one more day of post and then I'll be ringing them AGAIN on Monday - just as they told me to. Seriously considering changing to Hull Royal Infirmary instead. Angry

GiraffeAHolic · 24/06/2011 19:10

Evening, had my 12 weeks scan today, all seemed fine, measurements matched my due date. Very relieved :)

Refused the downs syndrome screening much to the sonographers dislike but hey it's my choice.

ag123 · 24/06/2011 19:51

I realise this is a bit of a long-shot, but GiraffeAHolic you're name's not Mel is it? It's just one of my Facebook friends I did my course with has just put her 12 wk scan photo up today...?

blueeyedmonster · 24/06/2011 20:05

Thanks shonn I never really laboured at hospital last time (was 10cm on arrival) so was a little worried they'd make me stay still.

Yes you are right Conchita it's good that I can get the anti-b's now that it's been found!

knittiekitty umm not as far as I knew, I went to get check because (tmi here) my cm changed colour and I had heard it could be a sigh of infection so was a bit worried. Glad I did now. The doctor did say that was a sign though so i'm lucky I spotted it!

mum2be that's really bad, i'd be considering changing too!!

It's so nice to hear about these scans now, i'm really looking forward to mine, only just over a week to go now!

Conchita · 24/06/2011 20:08

Can I join the 'scan on monday' club please? Am feeling nervous but I also can't wait because up until now I have been trying to merely think of myself as 'pregnant' rather than 'carrying a baby' IYSWIM, so that I don't get too emotionally attached. But it's getting harder and harder to do that; the 2 months since I POAS have felt like a lifetime and I'm starting to think of her as a person (see- I can't even bring myself to say 'it' anymore) and as someone that I love. I really need to see if she's okay in there so I can allow myself to love her unreservedly and prepare myself for her arrival. And I know it's a long road to a healthy baby yet, but I can't go the full nine months ignoring what's inside there.

fishandlilacs · 24/06/2011 22:32

My next scan is 7th July now. Hopefully they will get a better look this time, I am satisfied all is well though. Got an appointment with a member of the menatl health team as well that day-I had really bad birth trauma, PTSD and PND after dd1 so they have referred me to keep an eye on me qand give me a chance to talk over any fears. I am going to welcome the opportunity despite the fact I feel totally fine now.

fishandlilacs · 24/06/2011 22:32

*mental

Mum2be79 · 25/06/2011 11:39

I've emailed a formal letter of complaint to PALS at York Hospital. This has not been an isolated time for them. This problem has been ongoing since April apparently.

If they can't keep up with scan appointments how the hell are they going to cope with deliveries? I have visions that I will be giving birth in a car park at this rate. If I can't get any joy on Monday, I'm switching to Hull Royal Infirmary instead - even if I have to camp out at the reception desk!

I am now going to find something that will bring my stress levels down and stop the tears!! :( and very, bloody Angry

TandB · 25/06/2011 15:26

Just saying goodbye as my dates have been changed and I am now in December!

shonnomanom · 25/06/2011 17:00

Oh wow kungfu are you having a chrismas baby now instead of a newyear baby? Hope everything stays good and growing for you. All the best x

Mum2be I was thinking the same thing. If York are this disorganised at this early stage in a pregnancy how the hell can they expect people to trust them with not only their life but the vulnerable life of their new borns. I hope you get things sorted out soon. Try and relax

I have had a crappy afternoon :(
Went to Tesco this afternoon with Dd. Once I got a trolley I realised that my purse was at home. 20mins later Im driving round a mini roundabout when a car doesnt slow down and just keeps driving JUST missed me Angry
Then after Tesco, while driving out the carpark and another car pulls straight out of a Give Way. I really dont know how we didnt collide! Angry
Eventually safely home and about to tuck into some well deserved icecream

Hope everyone is having a good weekend x

Nanny01 · 25/06/2011 17:02

I too have a scan on Monday plus a visit with my son to his new school. I saw our baby at 10 weeks and all was well; however just can't stop worrying that I will get there and it won't. This is our 5th baby and it isn't getting any easier.

mummyzoe2012 · 25/06/2011 17:58

hi all, morning sickness seams to be getting worse the further along i get anyone else finding this also. everyone knows im pregnant now as im showing loads.

i am still awaiting my "1st scan" date to come thro, have seen baby at 7 weeks and all was good then.

Good luck to all those with scans on monday am so jeluse(sp) of you all!!!

Xxx

knittiekitty · 25/06/2011 21:24

Mumtobe You're right to be getting cross, it isn't acceptable at all. I recently had a problem with Sky (admittedly a private company) that went on for ages. One email outlining it to the Chief Exec and it was sorted with compensation within days - it might be worth doing the same with the Trust if you can find the energy. They might not be aware of the mess the dept seems to be in. Or even try the local paper with the story?
Sho Other drivers make me despair too, hope ice-cream was soothing! We're off for a few days tomorrow and I got my tyres checked only to find front one was nearly bald on the inside and would have split. I felt sick when I saw it as I'm so careful about checking the pressures but hadn't ever looked at them on full lock to check inside rim. £200 lighter and a lecture from the garage man later I hope we have a trouble free trip!
Good luck with the scans next week everyone, I look forward to catching up!

ghosteditor · 25/06/2011 22:08

That sounds really tough! Thankfully for me my sickness is easing off a bit, but I still have bad bouts. The only thing that has been helping me is to eat an ice lolly - somehow the cold helps. Have you tried it? Hope you start to improve soon...

Mama5isalive · 25/06/2011 23:27

Hi all - just thought i would pop my head around to see you all.
Lovely to hear that scan was all well and that there are more up coming ones!
im beginning to heal within myself and feeling positive everyday!
Thanks for all the lovely kind words and all the best for you all and your moving kicking beans! hopefully youll all be moving out of the sickness area and into the getting bigger and feeling more pregnant now!

loads of love and cyber hugs xxxx
