Have added myself... TOld my mum yesterday and she was over the moon. But it starts here: "Of course, it will be a boy this time, won't it?" (I have 2 DDs). Erm, like I have any say in the matter. And just ... why??! What's wrong with my girls? She is convinced that since she had 2 girls and then a boy that I will too . Anyway, DH is in radio and works quite a bit hands-on with radio equipment which I've heard is rather detrimental to boy-sperm so I think it's highly unlikely.

Welcome newbies and congrats!

Iv got my BA and scan on Monday @ 830am. Very early but it means we have the whole day afterwards.

Was sooo tired yesterday. We had our playgroup summer trip to the local Safari park then went straight to work after it. And of course Wednesday is swimming day. Fell asleep on the couch stright after dinner. Went to bed at 830pm and woke up at 8am, would love to say it was uniterrupted but I live with a 3yo.

Scrambled you poor soul and those stupid doctors, so glad your little bean is in there. It does make you wonder how many mistake they make. Hope you have a quiet time from now on thats more excitement than any one deserves.

GiraffeAHolic, this is a really late response to your post, but I laughed like mad at your Terry's disaster :)

I ate nearly all of a giant slab of Cadbury's Dairy Milk the other day - and I'm not normally much of a chocolate person - and then felt awful for hours afterwards. And last week I had this huge craving for hot dogs with lots of mustard and tomato sauce (not something I'd normally consider suitable supper material) and having eaten two nearly threw up - can't even think about hot dogs now without feeling sick!

My conclusion: don't listen to your body, it lies :) These days I'm sticking with fruit and veg (can't get enough, especially salad) plus bread, cheese (not too much) and eggs - everything else disagrees with me, especially red meat and fish.

...oh and pasta, thank God for pasta!

p.s. Scrambled, that's such wonderful news :)

I like subway sandwiches as my new lunch time treat when I am out. My ds2 loves the kids meal with drink and cookie. I do find I have to eat less and it takes me a lot longer to finish lunch today. We are all trying to be healthy as dh has had gallbladder pain which seems to get bad if the wrong foods are eaten. Unlike him I don't go and buy McDonalds like he did to me when I had it. Jus still so tiered to day and I have parents evening tonight.

Dont talk about McDonalds Ive been craving a big mac for weeks :)

Has anyone else been teary? Normally I never cry, but in the past few days Ive been a crying, snotty mess. Poor dp cant seem to say anything without setting me off.

please can I have a pass from parents evening. Every one keeps saying I look so tiered at the moment, I wonder why. Has any one said anything to you ladies

i see many are relieved that peanuts are now safe( i ate peanuts) with all my DC and had not one problem!!!!!!!! honey roasted are my fave but limit myself to 6 peanuts a time!!!!!! DH eats the rest!!!!!!!!!
i have another ermmmm treat ummmm not quite like the ginger cake and chedder cheese, i like peanut butter and decided to combine it with the nutella spread yummmmy - its like a snickers bar on toast!!!!!!!!! like it on bagels!

I've just boarded a train to Glasgow from London with some colleagues. I have terrible morning sickness at the moment but can't say. I asked for the aisle seat, but my colleague has much longer legs and also wanted it. I couldn't provide a better reason but I did warn about travel sickness... Don't think they think I'm serious. 4.5 hours to go...

Do you think I should just tell them? My scan is not so far away.

And I have been sick three times so far today, it's highly likely to happen again. :(

Mind if I join you ladies? Due 28 Jan and have a DD who's 2. I'm already feeling enormous and currently looking at a box of Dulcoease with mild disdain - I'd forgotten how glamorous pregnancy is!

Ah Moobee, i feel for you! I have been very lucky with the sickness but today am feeling it a little too :(

I wouldn't tell your colleagues just yet though if you can keep it in (literally). Stick to the travel sickness story. Are they male or female? If female i suppose they may have already guessed!

d0gface- i am crying every other day i'd say. I am a bit like a rollercoaster at the moment. One second full of joy and positive and the next angry and crying at OH. Poor thing, he doesn't know whether he's coming or going. Have bought myself some cupcakes for a girlie dinner later tonight though!

so Mobee -i have told some of my work mates just for the support and im so glad i did. they where so happy for me. when i had to move something they all run over and told me to put it down (it wasnt even heavy) but it was nice to see how much they care!
capybara my dh planned it, but not too keen for we are travelling on ferry and i just hope im not see-sick and we have calm waters!!!!!!! 3 pregnant women so noone can help each other but stand by and give support!
must remember we all need to bring our notes!!!!

Just added myself - no idea when my scan will be as I've already managed to piss of the midwife (haven't even met her yet!) so I fear my notes are somewhere at the bottom of the pile. Oh well, I'm sure she'll get round to booking everything for me at some point!

Whoop, whoop scrambled - what a result!

Hi to all the newbies.

Told Mum and Dad on Sunday after brother's wedding- they were quietly pleased and a little excited. Scan now less than a week away- time's moving soooo slowly!

Am still really nauseated and retching regularly (11+5) and tummy really becoming prominent- have resorted to using hairbands as "expanders" with the buttons on my work trousers, which is actually quite discrete and effective. Don't want to head into a maternity section and jinx things till next weekend- sad, I know!

Oh. My. Word... I have no internet for a few weeks and you ladies have filled a thread and started filling a new one! Hope everyone is well, feel like I've been ignorant and I have no idea what's gone/going on!

Going to pretend I'm a newbie again cos it will take FOREVER to read through the whole of that last thread. Sorry!

So, I'm 10+5 I think. Not being booked yet and no scan but are currently having a test due to too much protein in my urine. Slightly concerned as the nurse did mention pre-eclampsia but no point worrying over something that just isn't yet. And I'm sure that it isn't diagnosed until around 20 weeks. I don't know, just waiting for results. Should get them tomorrow, if my doctors pull there finger out...which is asking a big thing for them!

I STILL don't feel pregnant at all. Except the lack of a period and the many sticks I have pee'd on, I am rather convinced someone's having a big joke with me! Maybe it will come after BA next week, if someone else tells me I'm pregnant then I might begin to believe it.

Mama5 - I hope Paris is an amazing trip for you, I'm jealous of the pastries and cakes already! I will pass on your latest suggestion as I've never 'got' peanut butter - it must be like marmite, which is delish spread onto chunks of apple btw.
Mobee - I told my close colleagues ages ago which is just as well as they've been covering for me during my regular nausea absences these past few weeks. I'm petite (ok short!) at 5"2 and started to show at the beginning of last week. My dh is panicking about twins but I think it's just because there isn't anywhere to hide anything! Several colleagues outside my team (I work in a big office) have asked me directly if I'm pregnant which surprised me. I wouldn't ask anyone that in case it was just fat and that would be so awful.
Conchita - my BA was about 50 minutes. The room was airless and roasting hot and we were all desperate to get out!
