Sho I can feel flutters too. Since about 8 weeks but not every day. DH thinks I'm imagining it but I remember the feeling and it is different to digestion rumbles.

Anyone got a twitchy right thumb or experience from a previous pregnancy? My right thumb has started twitching but I thought it was too early for carpal tunnel syndrome. Didn't have anything like this last time.

Congrats Ag123 and Curlygirl on your upcoming nuptials. Very exciting times!

Hi
Welcome to all the new comers, I;m just waiting till next week for my 12 week scan. I am so busy but I think I have felt movement to this time nOt all the time but occasionally.

Happy Monday everyone!
No flutters yet - other than indigestion related ones! Dear heaven - tried Dulcoease for the first time. That was the closest I've come to actually chucking up my dinner - it's utterly vile. AND didn't work. I just can't face taking it again though. Sigh - bran flakes here we come (sorry - not usually one to share my bowel movements!)
Mama5 - nice dress and total bargain! I can't wait to get some new clothes, but don't want to do anything until I have some confirmation that there is a little heartbeat and blob in there (bit paranoid, perhaps).
abeautifulbutterfly - I'm 38 too. Apart from the creaking joints I'm feeling pretty good on it!

Hi everyone.

I have reached the 12 week mark today Grin semi relieved, hopefully can relax a bit after Friday's scan.

Absolutely manic weekend, survived the wedding more or less intact, despite the vicar outing me to anyone in earshot Angry

Vomiting very much still present, some days I'm keeping nothing down at all, but at least I'm not as stupidly tired as I was.

Just ordered some soft non-wired bras from additions to prevent the agony hopefully :)

Hello everyone :)

Parsleylion1 well i think its great news that you're having a baby at 43, the only difference Im feeling with this pregnancy compared to my other two (DD aged 10 and 7) is that Im getting out of breath very quickly. Im quite fit and usually go to the gym 3 times a week, but only going once a week at the moment. And Im finding that some things that the midwives are saying Im just ignoring. She told me that breast feeding stops asthma and eczema. Doh!! dont think so! My 2nd child had both and she was breast fed! I hope everything goes smoothly for you xxx

Mama5isalive lovely dress :) I went to look at the maternity clothes in Asda last week and I asked them if they only did maternity clothes for funerals as everything was either black, white or grey! LOL!!! Its absolutely rubbish. I think they do one top in a shade of purple. Its summer, we want lovely colours :)

Giraffeaholic Congrats on reching your 12th week, Friday wont come soon enough for you :)

Are we allowed to eat cottage cheese? To late if we aren't I ate a large tub of cottage cheese with pineapple with hand baked crisps yesterday... very strange craving but I HAD to eat it Grin

I am hoping not to change my wardrobe yet as it would be a complete give away. We are planning to send a dvd with scan pics and a nice message to our parents to tell them while we are away on holiday. They can have their tempers while we are away and say how awful we are behind our backs.

Linda40- I think cottage cheese is alright and peanut butter to. My appetite is really not good at the mo so anything that appeals I eat.

Giraffeaholic- Congrates but did you want the vicar to out your pregnancy?

Mama5 - so glad you had a nice time and I think the dress is perfect for summer wedding. My dh is hoping my dress from last week will do for an August wedding we're going to but it seems unlikely to me. I have dug out my old maternity stuff and found it's mostly for winter and saggier than I remember!

Linda40 - I'm getting out of breath quicker than usual too although running up the stairs is the most energetic I get these days. I belly danced for years for enjoyment and fitness but our teacher recently stopped and I couldn't find other classes near home. I would have given it up for first few months anyway but am really missing a good shimmy session.

My lovely GP has signed me off work for a week today and I'm so relieved as I was running out of self-cert days and still feel awful. I retch until I see stars but am still never sick which I'm grateful for but I'm so fed up of it. Giraffeaholic, my GP said they can give some drugs for respite from actual vomiting if it's really bad but hopefully we're getting through the worst of it. Pleeeeese let me be getting towards the end of it - I'm 11+5 so it must be time to feel better soon?!

Aw poor Supa, resisting biscuits and teddies is impressive willpower - I hope he breaks soon! Can you give in to the soothing toddler taming effect of Cbeebies for a while and have a rest?

Lamb stew for lunch. Big mistake :( And I've been feeling so much better lately - ate huge meals all weekend (at fully catered conference, so didn't have to cook any of it) Obviously pregnancy nausea moves to its own special rhythm (!)

Thanks for the welcomes and congratulations everyone. Yes have definitely got a busy year ahead. And I know what you mean about the nausea...on the one hand it is better not to be throwing up every evening without fail, but i've been finding it very strange how it now seems to come and go seemingly randomly.

Phoned the midwife team today to find out where my scan appointment was. It took 4 HOURS to get through. I should have realised that would happen as it took an ENTIRE DAY to make my booking in appointment. Despite teaching, the school secretary said she would keep trying to no avail. Managed to get through EVENTUALLY. She said she couldn't do anything but she'd get the number for me to ring. She asked if I had tried another hospital, despite it NOT being in my health trust and NOT of my choice?!? An hour later, still no phone call back. By that time I was tearing my hair out, almost in tears so decided to ring York Hospital antenatal clinic. Straight away they told me, they had a backlog and midwives were doing it this afternoon even going in on Saturdays and that I hadn't even been BOOKED into the maternity side of things. She said I'd be luck if I got an appointment this week!

I'm so pissed off. This is my first pregnancy and already I am unimpressed by the whole maternity care. They'd better show better service afterwards because I will RIP!

Ag123 Ta for the travel advice. Phoned insurance today and is all ok.

Mum2be Sorry to hear about your troubles getting seen...guess it's a postcode lottery as to the service you get..? Hope you get your scan date soon.

I went for my second midwife appointment today and took along DH as he had the day off work. Midwife went to take some blood. Cue DH going white as a sheet and very sweaty and student midwife having to check that he's ok/get him air & a glass of water etc [grin

Couldn't stop laughing (I know, I'm cruel!) but have serious concerns about how he'll handle the birth. I know it's a long way off but I want someone there with me who's going to help ME. Not some wet nelly who's going to faint and have all the nurses fussing round HIM Wink He gets really squeemish about medical type stuff....

Maybe get a backup birth partnerDeesus? My mum was telling me the other day that before I was born my dad fainted and had to leave the room for a sit down and a cuppa. :)

I did have an option of going to Hull but since York is slightly (by 2 miles) nearer and I was there in 2009 having an operation I thought better the devil you know. I live on east York north York border. I am beginning to wonder though if I made the right decision. Hopefully it's just a blip!

Hi everyone, sorry to hear about the nausea - I thought we were meant to be feeling better by now, but I'm worse than ever! I've got such a busy week, but I'd so love to take it easy at the moment.

Mum2be I'd be furious with the treatment you've had so far, sorry you're having to chase them so much. Hope they get their act together soon.

Hi ladies!

Great to see good news for scrambled and good to see some new names on the list. I'm now back from a blissful week in Greece - the girls were super supportive when I told them and have been lovely all week. And I hardly felt sick at all! Went back to work this afternoon ( after getting home at 4am...) and what do you know, I've been nauseated and retching. Maybe I don't eat enough at work [muses]...

DH is back! it's the first time I've seen him in 6 weeks so he's being especially lovely and cooking a fab meal as we speak.

I have a scan date! It's july 5th, so I'll be 12+1. unfortunately DH will be away again - we're so gutted that he'll miss the scan, but at least I can keep a photo for him.

He also found out this week that some very close friends are having their second child... With a due date 1 day after us! He managed to keep quiet but it will be fun when we tell them Grin ! There go my plans for borrowing all the essentials...

Must go and eat now, but great to see the thread mk 2!

Hi and congrats to all the newbies!

Sounds like you had a lovely time ghost and enjoy seeing your dh.

mum2be That is shocking! I wouldn't be happy about that at all. I hope once they manage to sort it out your care gets better.

I went to have my 10 week bloods taken today but it's now been put back to after my scan seeing as i'm having the nuchal done. They do the combined blood/scan here now (didn't with ds) and she said they had may aswell do it all at the same time. I'm kind of glad really as I hate needles so I won't have to do it 2 weeks apart now.

Shame I have to do another pee smaple though as ds was very interested in what I was doing this morning and insisted on watching. He even congratulated me on getting it in the tube!! I must admit that can be a challenge on it's own when I am further along Blush

Can't wait to see the scan now!
