I'm sick!!!! :(

Felt very big yesterday and couldn't eat my tea. My nausea had returned at the weekend so I put it down to fluctuating hormones. However at 2:30am I realised that I had somehow downloaded a nasty bug. I spent every half hour on the loo or bringing up bile! (Yuck!) I really didn't know that my bowels could hold so much water (sorry if it makes you cringe!). I have somehow lost MORE weight - another 2lbs.

I managed to sleep between 6:30am and 11:20am and have managed a straight 5 hours without visiting the loo. But I feel so crappy. Having a sick day today which means I miss my children's rehearsal at the Spa and their 'Big Sing' this afternoon. :( I'm not sure whether I'll be well enough to chaperone on Saturday which means I miss my little lovelies performing!

Hello! Can I join in? Smile I'm due 23/01/12. Am so jealous of people cooking spag bol at this stage, no-one in my house is allowed to cook as the smell of pretty much anything including MYSELF makes me gag. Rubbish. Can't wait to be a normal person again!!
On another note I just had my 12wk scan today and everythings fine thank goodness. Grin Although the baby looks disturbingly like my brother. Confused

lippyhippy · 13/07/2011 14:29

and on the topic of names, why are girls names so much harder than boys??? we've had James Milo down for ages, but despite me trying to convince my DH of the benefits and beauty of Rosie May, he's not biting. we can't agree on ANY girls names other than the May bit, which is a family name!

knittiekitty · 13/07/2011 14:48

My tiny sil had an 8lb10 baby boy yesterday and both are doing well. They were told at their 20 week scan that it was a girl and they bought and washed a load of pink stuff! We knew that she was thrilled to be expecting a girl (they have a 2yr old boy) so I'm not sure if it will make her a bit miserable. We are hoping to find out this time as having a surprise was great the first time but would like to be more prepared. Now I'm not so sure it's worth asking!

supadupapupascupa · 13/07/2011 14:57

i think if you are told it is a boy it is likely to be accurate. It is being told it is a girl that could be doubtful

Ack! Just realised people will think I was in a romantic mood due to the nuptuals of a banal-ape to a horse, and that led to the conception of my baby! (I'm not against all Royals, just the soporific ones). Ah well! Will just have to 'put them right' - I spent my day at work and then, all bar a little humping, spent my evening on World of Warcraft.

Mum2be79 Oh no! Poor bean! Hope you're much better and have got your fluids up at least... Take it easy and don't go back to work 'til you know you'll be fit enough to encompass Saturday too. Life's too friggin short to work when ill/recovering - no one thanks you for it.

lippyhippy 'ello! I thought my baby looked a bit like 'someone else' too. Definatly looks like my DH's family. If it's any help, my man's not sure mine's genetically his as it was so energetic...and has made me actively like fruit. When I pointed out to him that his brother was climbing scaffolding and up cliff faces at 18 months, he gave me a funny look...Wink

Re: Bras. I just went straight to Bravissimo. Great service! Told me that yes, go with my instincts and stick with underwires as it'll make my life a lot more comfy. If it's any help, to others they 'shod' me in their 'own' range - Alana and Daisy chain...

Nanny01 · 13/07/2011 17:35

Had to have a 2 hour rest after a very emotional day. My girls school has shut it's gates for the last time after nearly 100 years. The whole place was awash with children and parents alike crying. I am not sure how I didn't end up crying myself, just wanted to be strong for my girls and comfort them. Can't wait to go away for our holiday in Cornwal even if it is under canvas. We are telling them next week though I did tell some ladies who will see me next term so they didn't think I had eaten to much over the hols.

As for us we will find out the babys sex as we have done for all but 1 of our children. I think a boy would be nice as no.4 was a boy and I am sure that he would like a brother. I am not sure what he will understand at 4 yrs old when we tell them either. I am looking forward to telling them and being openly pregnant.

addictediam · 13/07/2011 18:26

Hi all can I join you. Feeling really low and hormonal right now and I've edited this 5 times deleting things that you excited mummies to be dont want to hear about!

So I'm just going to say not sure of due date, have a 2nd 12wk scan booked (3rd dating scan) at the end of the month. Just hoping everything is ok. I have 1 dd who is 8.5 months!? I think I must be mad!

Oeisha · 13/07/2011 18:52

addictediam (((hugs))) I'm having a pretty shit day too...and didn't want to kill anyone's buzz, so I've ranted on the pregnancy threads...and am waiting for a good slamming from all the bitchy moms who are obviously perfect and can cope with everything, just to cheer me up some more...(I'm obviously a masochist).

ghosteditor · 13/07/2011 20:14

Hey and welcome to the list. I think it's safe to say that we all see this thread as a place we can vent and worry and enthuse on as the mood takes us - better than letting all the crazy out in RL! So if it helps to talk about stuff here then please don't hold back...

Wormshuffler · 14/07/2011 06:25

oeisha Ha banal-ape to a horse!! careful you never know who might me watching! If you suddenly disappear we know you have been picked up by the secret service for treason........ Grin

addictedIam thats ok, it's what this place is for .......fellow mentaling! Hope you are feeling a bit better now.

nanny you will have a fab break in cornwall, I love it there, we are going in 3 weeks, wish I was under canvas instead of staying with the in-laws!!

No sickness here (yet) this morning, have I reached that magic moment of feeling better? Can't wait until my doppler comes, it's hard at this stage when you can't feel regular movement to re-assure us.

supadupapupascupa · 14/07/2011 08:33

well i must be pregnant. sat up in bed last night watching the apprentice, and the bed collapsed Grin
All propped up now, and the bed is no longer saggy and i didn't get back ache last night...... Shock

OP posts:
Mum2be79 · 14/07/2011 09:02

supadupapupascupa that made me laugh! My belly aches - at least it aches with laughing and not because of the bug I've had!

Weighed myself this morning. I'm getting slightly paranoid. I've been trying to loose weight unsuccessfully before I fell pregnant and now that I am, I'm finding it 'rather easy'. I've lost 13lbs altogether since my BFP on 6th May and now back to my pre-summer weight 2009.

Having another sick day. At least I feel more human and I am now out of bed for longer periods. Just exhausted. Considering taking tomorrow off too and then back to work on Monday all bushy tailed for the last week at school!

abeautifulbutterfly · 14/07/2011 11:04

SDPS: Grin
You poor lot feeling low/hormonal/sick - sending you some virtual hugs from stifling Poland - 32 in the shade today, 34 yesterday!
I am feeling like a new woman as got myself some new bras finally yesterday - properly fitted for the first time ever Blush and turns out I have gone up 3-4 cup sizes Grin. Never knew there was so much it was possible to get wrong in wearing a bra, but looks like I've been committing all the sins in the book...
Got my bloods back today too, and risks of the Big Three nasty genetic problems have all fallen, DS to below 3,000:1, so I'm as calm as can be now.
We came up with some names quite by chance yesterday - we were always going to have Bruno for a boy but a chance conversation in a cafe threw up Cyprian (I know it sounds a bit odd in English but it's quite a strong, dignified name in Polish; the initial "C" is pronounced as "ts"). I think I'm going to shorten it to Zippy for English use (evil Grin). The girls and DH have voted unanimously in favour Shock but I would like to keep Bruno as a second... For a girl I am going to fight for Ruta (Ruth), with Baby Roo as a cute pet name. Surprisingly, the girls are on my side on this (surprisingly given their ideas included Diana, Matilda and of course all the names of their best friends), and DH did once say it was a possibility, so looks good. Which has produced a fine name for the bean: Zippy-Roo!

Oeisha · 14/07/2011 12:35

supa Lol! Bet that made your squiggle dance!
Mum2be79 13lb. My Mum would be so pleased if I were losing weight...she's already asked me 4 times now it I've put on any weight...as, you know, I'm fat already and putting on any more weight would be bad for baby...seriously, who says this kinda stuff to their daughter except my Mum?!!! [hbiscuit]
Oh, and I am a little overweight, but nothing the MW or my GP has ever mentioned.
Egh...feel sick now. Got someone working on my water supply, so no water...and no access to my kitchen pretty much (leaky stopcock for house = water turn off at drains outside Confused)...

kelli10 · 14/07/2011 14:17

I'd like to join too please. Expecting my first and scared to death. Got my 12 wk scan on Monday so hopefully I'll be reassured when I've seen pics.

hellooooey to all the newbs.

Ugh...how I wish i looked pregnant and not just portly...

Curlygirl72 · 14/07/2011 16:04

Lots of newbies this week, fab!
Kelli I also have my 12w scan on Monday, bighotmama too, we must be among the last on this thread to hit that milestone. Can't wait! All being well I'm gonna treat myself to a new comfy bra and something cute for the bub after that, and start properly making lists and plans! Dh has made me hold off till now, but mon is my b'day too so he can't refuse me - will drag him to mothercare or something! I have started a secret list of names though, it's quite long at the mo but will edit down as times goes on and after we find out the sex.
Back home from honeymoon tomorrow, a positive scan will sweeten the bitter pill of coming back to reality.

shonnomanom · 14/07/2011 17:01

aarrggghhhh
For some reason MN logged me out instead of posting my message! [hangry]

shonnomanom · 14/07/2011 17:11

So i'l try to remember what I wrote....

Congrats to all the new mama's to the group. Be sure to add yourself to the list. We're listed in EDD order so just slid yourself in where you think appropriate. There are some ladies at the bottom of the list for those uncertain of dates atm.

mum2be poor you being soo ill, glad to hear your on the mend now.
knittie your poor sister. I hope the mis-advised gender doesnt effect the bonding process too much. And congrats to you on a new nephew! DD was the same weight. She was a right chubby baby with loads of 'bangles' on her arms and legs.

Good luck to all due scans soon and fx for those with concerns.

I havent dared to stand on a scale since poa! Although im very grateful for my pre-concieving weightloss as Im still able to !squeeze! into my jeans. Think a trip to the maternity department is due.
Was very conscious of my bump yesterday at the supermarket. Reaching the bottom of the trolley proved rather difficult.

BigHotMama · 14/07/2011 17:42

Hey curly and kelli looks like we're amongst the last few for 12 wk scans and am feeling nervously excited for Monday but will be nice to feel relief at last, think the last 6 wks have dragged! Like the idea of making a baby purchase afterwards too just need to convince dh Wink

addictediam · 14/07/2011 18:03

hi all, thank you. feeling much better today, and a propper little bum appeared over night so i am feeling confident everything will be ok.

not feeling sick today either so hopefully morning sickness is on its way out!

technically my 12wk scan is on the 28th, but then i've already had one! (i had a scan and was dated at 9 weeks exactly then 3.5 weeks later had my 12wk scan and i was dated at 9+1, so have to go for another 12wk scan to make sure baby is growing properly. buba has a very strong hb, i just think he was being alittle shy! i have a thread in pregnancy incase any of you think this sounds familiar!)

shon you have a big bump already? wow, how far along are you about 15wks? (rough calculations!)

so the list doesnt say about previous children are most of you 1st timers or 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th even!? Grin

addictediam · 14/07/2011 18:04

ok so a propper little bum did not appear but a bump did!

kelli10 · 14/07/2011 18:10

Not sure I'll be making any baby purchases yet. I think I'll wait a bit longer.

I have just been made an auntie so I can indulge all my tiny baby needs with my nephew! Think I'll be needing to buy some maternity jeans though. Not sure if it's fat or baby but the trousers are all a bit on the tight side. Oops!!

Good luck curly and bighotmama! Fingers crossed we all get to see some happy healthy babies on Monday (no twins though please!!!) ;)
