X

Nanny01 · 27/06/2011 14:57

mummyzoe- are you all right. What did your neighbor do? I am always saddened to hear when another adult feels it's alright to inflict violence on another person. Though have to add not surprised.

mummyzoe2012 · 27/06/2011 15:05

all i did was ask them to move the rubbish they dumped on my garden and they kicked off and clawed my arm and tried to pull me over the fence. the police gave them an offical warning

Nanny01 · 27/06/2011 15:13

not nice so sorry, we have issues with our neighbours who shout at us as ds1 has autism and can make noise in the wee hours. Hope they will leave you alone.

ghosteditor · 27/06/2011 15:51

mummyzoe that's awful. Well done for calling the police, and don't be afraid to do so again if you have any further trouble. If they're dumping on your land then take photos and log the times and dates on a piece of paper somewhere. It will help you to keep calm and rational when reporting to the police and should make the neighbours back off a bit. Sometimes I can't believe what people believe is acceptable behaviour, or how little they care.

nanny thanks much; my letter does mention something about costs (£10 I think) for photos. I'm very upset as DH has been sent overseas and will miss my scan next week - but according to both the MW and the letter it is nigh on impossible to move the scan, and it would risk falling outside the window for the nuchal scan if I waited until he was back home. In any case, I really want to be able to email him something on the day. Hopefully they'll be sympathetic.

mummyzoe2012 · 27/06/2011 16:01

on a good note though ive got a emergancy scan on wedensday and my 12 week scan on the 15th of next month and im a low dependancy pregnancy wich is realy good!!! so by 12 week scan i will of seen baby 3 times! its amazing!

Moobee · 27/06/2011 16:21

Sorry to hear that Mummyzoe - it must have been very frightening.

I had my scan today and we saw a heartbeat, brain, stomach, arms and legs. It was really exciting! They did this thing of arching their back and kicking their feet so they jumped to the top of my uterus and floated back down. My husband saw them stretch an arm and all their five fingers - was amazing!

Ghosteditor - if youre at the JR (I remember you saying we're around the same area) then it's £5 for two images.

Sorry to hear your DH won't be able to make it but I've taken a photo of the scan images and I've been emailing them. That works.

tigana · 27/06/2011 16:34

Scan done .
Had to do a funky bit of hip swinging as baby was doing a head stand, which is not a good position for imaging ( so... awkward blighter already...yep, definitely related to DS!!Grin).
Lovely pics, friendly sonographer, all fine and dandy.
Now I can start to look forward and get excited.

Telling DS this evening....[mild panic]..hope he is happy or 'meh' and not gutted at thought of loss of single child status (gulp)

ghosteditor · 27/06/2011 17:00

aw, I'm so envious of you all, sounds wonderful!

moobee yep it will be the JR - thanks for the information. Do you need pound coins or is it just the right change (i.e. is a fiver ok)?

anyone else melting in the heat today? My office was lovely and cool this morning but now I'm sooooo hot. And I have to run around at a match tonight. Heat like this always gives me headaches (am a migraine sufferer) so I've been contending with a pounding head as well as the demolition of a building next door [pities self]. Wish I was off having a scan today instead!

Moobee · 27/06/2011 17:41

Ghosteditor: There's one of those stamp dispensing machines before you go in and it took a five pound note but looked like it would have taken coins too. I had both just in case.

Mum2be79 · 27/06/2011 18:26

Congratulations on those who have had successful scans. I got my date through this morning - 7th July. By MW's dates I'll be 14 weeks + 3 days but by my dates 13 weeks + 6 days - so just in the window going from dates. I can relax somewhat now.

Feeling large today.

trubble · 27/06/2011 19:20

Scan tomorrow really can't wait :-) managed to reschedule from when I'm on holiday so in first thing and then holiday the next day.

Bellakins · 27/06/2011 19:30

mummyzoe that's awful, I hope you're not too shaken.

Congratulations to all those with good scans today. Getting excited/nervous about mine. Just one week to go!

Is anyone holding out a bit longer before sharing the news? Due to timings of my holiday, scan date and issues with work I'd like to hold off telling my boss until end of July. Slightly worried though that by then I'll be showing and I'll turn up at work after my holiday with a small bump going "Errr... got something to tell you!". By then I'll almost be 16 weeks.

Nanny01 · 27/06/2011 19:32

trubble- good luck and hope you enjoy the holiday.I am trying to relax after the scan today I am hoping that I can enjoy everything from now on as I had was still a little worried. I haven't gained weight this time; with my weight thats a good thing as I have a v- high bmi.

interestingly they said that a weeks difference in due date is negligible so they said the first- Jan. I am sticking with the 8 th as I don't want to give them excuses to induce later.

Mum2be79 · 27/06/2011 20:02

Nanny01 Just interested about what they do if your BMI is over 30. Mine is 31 (which shocked everyone, especially the MW as she believed I was in the normal range - I am very deceiving) and I heard on my local news that 1 in 5 pregnant women are classed as obese and putting a strain on MWs. They say nationally an extra 4,500 are needed because of this. My view is they need this many MW's regardless of what people's BMI is. On my notes she put "Consultant to screen notes" but that could be because I was on norethisterone when I was about 3-4 weeks pregnant but I'm not sure whether it's due to my BMI as she said I may need to be consultant led.
My weight has dropped since then (lost about 3kg) so i'm not sure whether my BMI would have dropped.

Deesus · 27/06/2011 20:38

Evening all! Glad to hear everyone's scans went well. Had mine this morning too and everything ok. Bean was wriggling around like a good 'un and we got nice clear piccies. Kept due date the same so I'm still 7th Jan Smile

Sorry to hear about your neighbour troubles mummyzoe sounds like you handled it well though.

Moobee · 27/06/2011 22:38

Hi everyone, just thought I'd share a tip I just learnt. I've told some family (but only a few friends) now, and one of the family that found out today wrote on my facebook wall "congratulations on your pregnancy". Note, I haven't posted this there - I've kept facebook deliberately clear of any mention of it.

Not particularly welcome as I'd like to tell people myself and in my own time - there are some good friends I'm seeing soon and I want to tell them face to face. Also not to mention that there are work colleagues who I'm friends with on facebook who don't know yet.

Anyway, I managed to delete that post within 3 minutes of it being posted and then found out that you can change your settings so that people can't write on your wall. They can respond to your posts but not write on your wall so it makes the congratulations message much less likely.

If anyone else thinks they might have similar issues, go to account settings > privacy > customise and it's in there.

shonnomanom · 27/06/2011 23:28

aaarrrggghhh just typed out a really long post and laptop freaked out and its lost Sad

shonnomanom · 27/06/2011 23:33

ok cliff notes version:

mummyzoe glad your ok and hope they are no longer going to be a hassle for you.

nanny they got my sisters dates wrong as well with her pfb. It was very obvious that baby was not happy at being out so early. Hospital dates were 9dates earlier than sister estimated. Hospital tried to convince her that she fell pregnant while her OH was away with work and she had her period Hmm

Congrats on all the happy scans!!!!!! Grin

trubble happy scan and holidays

Facebook idea is great. You cant always trust people to remember your wishes.

Either news is spreading or my belly is. Had a few people stop me today to ask if I was pregnant.

Hope everyone is well
Sho x

Curlygirl72 · 28/06/2011 07:15

So I got married!!! Baby will now be legitimate, hurrah! Wink
A totally amazing day, and altho I'm only 10 weeks I told everyone in my speech. It was beautiful, just made the whole thing more emotional and intimate, totally felt like the right thing to do. I'm a very happy and lucky lady.
Struggled to keep up on the dance floor and was more knackered at the end of the night than I've ever been in my life, but I did well considering. Off to Italy today, will be mostly sleeping on a shady sun lounger and eating ice cream... Hope you all have a great couple of weeks, can't wait for scan when I get back!! Smile

blueeyedmonster · 28/06/2011 07:26

Congratulations curly sounds like you had a wonderful day! Enjoy italy too!!

Glad you are ok mummyzoe must have been scary for you.

Good luck with the scan today trubble

Moobee · 28/06/2011 07:39

Congratulation curlygirl, that sounds an amazing day! Have a lovely time in Italy!

Nanny01 · 28/06/2011 08:06

Mum2be79 -
Sadly if you bmi is out side normal ranges you will have to see a consultant. They will tell you that you are more likely to have gestational diabetes, pre eclampsia, macro sized baby and other lovely things. On a good note I have never had those things. My weight is at the highest it's been however since being pregnant it is stabalised. I probably need to take more exercise obviously eat healthy. I had a home birth last time, I had to be pretty firm about it. My community midwives supported me on this and last time delivered a healthy 7lbs 130z baby boy after 1 h 30 mins labour. Yes if you are bigger there are increased risks. I guess it means paying more attention to your body, but I didn't get any more check ups than others. After birth I breastfed and lost 2 stone within 3 months. For me my weight started 2 years after last baby had been born with a set of events that didn't allow me to keep going to the gym as I damaged my ankle. Better now but sadly got pregnant before the weight issue could be addressed. Try not to worry.

Good luck to you ladies having scans today

Curlygirl72- congrats on the wedding hope Italy is everything you want it to be , went there for my honeymoon to( Rome and Venice for a lovely week).

shonnomanom · 28/06/2011 08:34

Congrats Curly and enjoy your honeymoon!

supadupapupascupa · 28/06/2011 09:39

My BMI is about 40! In my notes it says I should have consultancy led care but the MW didn't tick it??!!!!
I was the same last pregnancy and never saw a consultant.
So I don't think it is true that you WILL see a consultant.

I had to have the GI tests last time and they wouldn't let me have a water birth, but other than that i don't think i was treated any differently.
