I know seven I am amazed myself, but I am pretty sure that is what I am feeling. I actually thought I was feeling it for about a week before the scan, but I didn't dare let myself believe it.

To those who do Yoga, is there any reason I couldn't do it if I have a bad knee - basically I can't put any load on one of my knees when it is bent - really tricky going upstairs where I have to do a funny hop so I can get up to the next step with a straight leg almost. I did go to the docs about it ages ago but I think my referrel fell through the cracks so I need to chase it up. I would love to do Yoga as I had mild SPD last time and already have some aching.

msbuggywinkle · 06/06/2011 11:10

Pippy We have told ours (4 and just 2), the little one told me not to be silly, but has got the idea now. We have lots of good children's books that explain pregnancy and birth, favourites are 'There's a house inside my Mummy' by Giles Andrea which explains pregnancy really well and for birth I like 'Hello Baby' but as its a home birth book it won't be for everyone.

KateM77 · 06/06/2011 11:23

Pippy I've told DD but she's only 13 months old so doesn't really understand. She does keep lifting up my top, sticking her finger in my belly button, and saying 'baba' though. It's so cute :)

jomouse · 06/06/2011 11:57

ThePippy as long as you take it easy with yoga and never, ever do anything that hurts you should be fine
Might be worthwhile doing one class with an instructor - they will have a workaround for your knee - and then just sticking to the DVD after that

Wahooo... Just got back from my 12 week scan. Everything was fine and Baby is kicking and moving around alot. So excited to see him/her.

Answer to the question above, still turned off meat.... Hoping this will get better soon...

xstitch · 06/06/2011 14:34

I have told dd but she is nearly six and is pestering me for more detail on how baby got in their

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 06/06/2011 20:09

Books are a good idea. We talk about it to ethan, who's 2.5, but he doesn't seem to have really picked up on it, but I'm not going to really discuss it with him for a few more months yet. And prob won't take him to 20week scan, but we get out the 12 week scan photos and talk to him about it.

So jealous you're feeling movements pippy! I thought I felt flutters last night but not convinced. Didn't feel any flutters or bubbles with ethan, went straight to kicks but not til 21 weeks....

kri5ty · 07/06/2011 07:55

Scan tomorrow ahhhh so scared! I don't know how i will get through today! Its all i can think about!

ooooo Tyelperion thank you i may give it a go :)

LittleBlueBoat · 07/06/2011 09:30

Scan day today at 2pm.

I have planed lots to do today to keep me busy but i'm still worried.

Anyone else with scans today?

mopsytop · 07/06/2011 10:28

Good luck Littleblue. Mine isn't til Monday. Can't wait. Had a nightmare about having a miscarriage, which was really unpleasant and, weirdly, my husband had a similar dream the same night. Guess we are both worried. Just want the reassurance of the scan now! Hope yours goes well!

sevendwarves · 07/06/2011 10:30

Good luck with the upcoming scans.

I'm very pleased to be 12 weeks today, can't wait for my energy levels to start increasing and the bloating to subside.

LittleBlueBoat · 07/06/2011 12:49

Aaron having nap so thout i'ed catch up.

DH has started getting panicy about scan now so not helping much Grin

I keep fliting between "i hope everything is ok" to "How am i going to cope with two". I'm trying not to get excited as there are no garentees but i have just seen the cutiest 6 month old baby girl and i couldn't help but think wow by xmas we might have a little girl. Or having a boy to play with Aaron.

Also i read the live birth thread in chat and now i'm scared of giving birth as i know whats coming Grin

Its hard to stop my mind from racing about all the possabilities. I dont think its real until i have had the 12 week scan and then there is no deniying that we are having another child and it has to come out some way.

Sorry for rambling Blush

Good luck to everyone ellse havi9ng scans this week Smile

I will report back later

Good luck for those who have had scans!

strawberries that sounds scary, but great that you have the doppler to reassure you!

I have my 'choose and book' appointment on friday, will get a scan date sometime after that. I'm 13week tomorrow so its a good job I don't want the nuchal fold test anyway!

LittleBlueBoat · 07/06/2011 16:04

Back from scan - good news.

Baby is fine and i'm 14 weeks +1 day today. They give me a eed of 5/12.
They could not do the DST as they could not see the fluid at the back of the neck. I have to make an appointment with MW next week but i dont think i will bother with the blood test as the results will not matter to us.

So we are going to have a baby in December - aaaarrrrrgggggg Grin

hello all this is my first baby due date dec 3rd , am still tired and def not glowing .

LittleMissFlustered · 07/06/2011 21:07

I'm not doing much glowing either. Plenty of glowering though. Welcome :o

BeeMyBaby · 07/06/2011 21:39

My DH is too cheap for a doppler (or we both are) so he got a stethoscope instead, tried to see if he could hear something, and indeed, he heard lots of my inside wind Blush

sevendwarves · 07/06/2011 22:06

Hi Jenny.

LBB glad the scan went well, we didn't bother with the nuchal testing either.

strawbs the bleeding sounds very scary but at least it's reassuring to know that baby is ok. Do they know why you're bleeding or what's causing it?

plupervert · 07/06/2011 22:27

Hi, all. We had our scan today, and it took a huge weight off me. All the combined tests lowered the background risks for Down's (trisomy 21) and trisomies 13 and 18 - thank God. The little creature was rubbing its face a bit like a cat, and there was a bit of spindly leg-waving, which was very cute.

It all finally feels real, and I am very relieved indeed. The EDD has changed to December 10, meaning an anomaly scan when we were due to be away later this summer, so now DH and I are having rather "tense" discussions about what to do about going - change the dates or cancel altogether. Still, there's no way we're not going to the scan, so at least we have no regrets about that.

Strawberries, I hope you find out soon why you are having these bleeds. It sound very frightening, and it's so good you can reassure yourself with a doppler...

Hope everyone else is well. LBB, congrats on your reassuring scan.

plup - could you not just ask to rearrange the scan to the following week rather than cancelling your holiday?

DarciesmumandBump2 · 08/06/2011 08:29

Hey Ladies

Good to see scans are going well :)

Strawbs hopefully the bleeding will stop altogether soon.

Well I love having a home Doppler it's nice to hear peanut to relax too. Also sure I've felt movement like a sudden kick every now and then Grin

Went to my first Aqua Natal class yesterday - will recommend to anyone so relaxing. Will keep you fit and great birthing tips too.

kri5ty · 08/06/2011 08:58

Ahh scan day today.... nervous!
