Finally managed to get nt scan today. I am now freaking about the potential results. I thought I felt fluttering last night but thought I must have imagined it.

KateM77 · 02/06/2011 18:27

No flutterings for me yet. I think I was about 18 weeks with DD before I felt anything

xstitch · 02/06/2011 19:41

kate I am sure it was just wind for me Grin

Xiaoxiong · 02/06/2011 19:56

Anyone else got a pounding headache? I never get headaches and over the past week it seems to be a daily occurrence. Thought I might be dehydrated but drinking lots doesn't help at all, though 1000mg paracetamol takes the edge off (but not for long).

A search of the pregnancy boards pulled up a lot of old threads complaining of exactly the same - massive headaches between weeks 12 and 15, worse when standing up quickly, pounding, dizziness. No idea of the cause though, guess I can chalk it up to hormones like everything else.

I keep telling myself that my skull cannot actually explode, but wish I had a blood pressure monitor so I could at least reassure myself that I'm not about to have a brain aneurysm.

xstitch · 02/06/2011 20:06

I have a headache but I have a cold so been putting it down to that.

plupervert · 02/06/2011 20:14

Headaches here, as well, but I'm pretty sure that's dehydration from the weather and (I hope) producing amniotic fluid.

Lack of water could also explain the weird ripples I feel in my abdomen which, like xstitch, I am firmly attributing to wind. I simply can't get precious about wind (instead of a baby), so the secret is easier to keep till next Tuesday and the scan!

xstitch, when could your results come through?

xstitch · 02/06/2011 20:22

Two weeks Confused. That feels like an awful long wait and I'm really nervous about it, would rather not end up with an amnio IYSWIM. The said if low risk then I will get a letter through and high risk they will phone. Praying I don't get a call. Then I'll start worrying about all the associated heart conditions etc if it is high risk.

plupervert · 02/06/2011 20:27

Blimey, are you fearing hereditary heart conditions, or is it for yourself?
That is a long wait, although perhaps that is just a maximum, and they might fit it in before then?

xstitch · 02/06/2011 20:35

Two of DP's DN's have conditions they are not to bad health wise now they are teenagers but they have been through a lot. They are not sure if it was SIL's medication or genetic so it is a fear.

plupervert · 02/06/2011 20:37

Oh, dear. Sad Keep busy and keep working, and the time should pass more quickly...

Iggly · 02/06/2011 20:41

Hi everyone - I was on this thread AGES ago when it first started then stopped posting as got paranoid. Now I've had my scan, a bean has been confirmed and I'm starting to relax a bit.

So, can I join again please?!

Iggly · 02/06/2011 20:45

Ive just updated the stats list - looks like locations are on there now? I'm sooooooooo behind!

sevendwarves · 02/06/2011 20:52

Iggly I was worried about you! I was on the December conception bus, I remember you mentioning joining this thread but when I got my BFP you weren't here.

xstitch fingers crossed for good results, and hopefully before 2 weeks.

Iggly · 02/06/2011 21:20

Thanks seven - I was right at the start then got wobbly as I joined a thread when I had the MC last year so felt nervous. But now I've seen (a very active) baby I can relax! How are you finding things?

LittleMissFlustered · 02/06/2011 21:52

Sorry for not remembering names, iPad playing silly buggers...

My bmi automatically precludes me from having a birth centre delivers as it is not attached to the main hospital. The fact that it is within another, albeit smaller, hospital that has a full compliment of doctors, nurses and should the worst happen, theatres. Madness. Quite annoyed. If I get called in by the consultant I have been referred to I may well have a hussy fit and throw my toys :o

Lady who is a stone overweight: you should be fine I would think. There's enough of me to make a couple of damn sexy chicks Wink

LittleMissFlustered · 02/06/2011 21:53

Hussy fit?! Cocking iPad. 'tis in danger of being defenestrated I tell you!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 03/06/2011 07:34

Hi everyone, been mental at work but briefly scanned through and great to hear about all the scan results.

My 20 week scan is so far away, twas booked for 14th July but I'm going to latitude so now not til 20th when i'll be 22weeks, boo!

Otherwise feeling good, just want to feel baby move! Feeling a but worried how i'm going to make my career wirk with 2 children....

kri5ty · 03/06/2011 08:48

Hi Guys

I decided to gate crash the thread hehe

I'm kristy, from Manchester, currently 12+2 and dont have my scan until wedneday :-( cue panic stations as my symtoms only lasted for 2 weeks!

msbuggywinkle · 03/06/2011 09:08

Tylepherion I've been getting awful headaches too, I was starting to suspect too much time in front of the computer and I think I'm right, no headaches on holiday over the weekend. If I spend longer than an hour I start to hurt!

ThePippy · 03/06/2011 10:27

Morning all. Welcome to the newbies and welcome back Iggly.

It is the scan day today and to say I am worried is an understatement. 2.30 won't come quick enough!

xstitch · 03/06/2011 10:44

Scan day is a very long day isn't good luck for all the scans.

13 Weeks today so second trimester here we come :)

sevendwarves · 03/06/2011 11:19

Good luck pippy.

kri5ty · 03/06/2011 11:31

Good Luck Pippy :)

Mizza76 · 03/06/2011 11:36

Oh. My. God. Just looked at myself in the mirror. I have either been eating waaaaay too much macaroni cheese or I have seriously popped. I suppose under the circumstances it could be a bit of both??

By the way, now I'm telling people I'm pregnant the universal response seems to be: 'we guessed'. Are there no secrets any more??

Mmmmcheese · 03/06/2011 11:44

Hello, can I join? Have been hanging around the pregnancy board and didn't realise this one existed!

I'm 10 + 4, second pregnancy, due maybe Christmas Day?!!

I just caught sight of my tummy in a shop window and I have either suddenly got a bit of a spare tyre (unlikely as not eaten that much due to MS) or I have popped! Seems very early to be showing though.
