Oy! £10 for a photo? Hope it's a bloody good one ellastar1?!
Ours is £3 per photo, name of the hospital escapes me atm Blush.

Is anyone else producing liquid from their boobies yet? I'm 17 weeks & found out today that mine are leaking, so very sexy.

msbuggywinkle · 14/07/2011 09:11

Scary scan pic prices! Our hospital (Liverpool Women's) charges £2 and if they can't get a good pic you don't pay.

AWCH I am, but am still bfing DD2. Anyway, it is very common to start making some milk quite a long time before your due date. It is just your breasts getting ready for birth (not everyone leaks though, I didn't first time round).

Off to the Blessingway today, have made coconut and lime cupcakes and need to get off my bum to make some dips too.

kri5ty · 14/07/2011 09:49

seven i have put on over a stone!! but most of that was in the first 8 weeks as i couldnt stomach anything other than junk food!

Talking about weight... i nearly snapped at my sil the other day!! I was only 8 stone before i got preg, and now im about 9 stone 4, and she decided to comment "oooo are you sure its not twins? you are very big for how far along you are!" to which i had to bite my toungue from replying wth " yes but i still weigh less than you, im nearly 5 months pregnant, and im in size 10 clothes!" Angry

jomouse · 14/07/2011 10:13

Hello all - another 20 week scan here. DH thinks he saw a penis but I am holding out for a MASSIVE clitoris...
I would be happy for either but not so keen on the boys name - its DH's grandfathers name and is quite trad - so maybe thats why I am holding out for a girl.
Everything fine and really feel as though we have passed some kind of milestone after 20 weeks.
Its so funny you said about the jungle nursery idea - thats what I'm thinking would be great for either boy or girl...
Woo hoo! Its all so very exciting
Horse my boobs are a horror show at the moment - peeling and cracked and leaking - apparently this is normal. Loads of TMI - sorry!

aww thats brill jomouse !!! congrats!

That really made me laugh... and she will be one very happy girl if it wasn't a penis!!

Im just searching the net now for jungle things! i am getting rather excited!!

Xiaoxiong · 14/07/2011 11:01

jomouse mine were the same, whitish yellow gunk which I assume is dried stuff, and flaking too. I bought some of that lansinoh stuff from boots and rubbed in a bit after a warm bath. It took a few baths over the week before I noticed any improvement but its definitely helping.

20 week scan this afternoon - wish me (us!?) luck!! I haven't felt any nudges yet today, may get some sweets and something sour to drink just beforehand to see if that produces any movement.

jomouse · 14/07/2011 12:58

Tyelperion little beast was on back in funny poosition yesterday and the sonographer recommended a hot chocolate for getting the little monkey moving - totally worked!
Best of luck for this afternoon - let us all know how it goes.
I love scan news

Awomancalledhorse · 14/07/2011 13:06

Good luck Tyelperion!
jomouse, stealing your hot chocolate tip, although our 20 wk scan is ages away in august!

I have my 16wk mw appt in 2 hours, would now be too early to make a urine sample? Or should I just wait until I get to GP's and use their facilities?

BeeMyBaby · 14/07/2011 14:50

seven I think it really depends if you are hungry and how tired etc you feel, I've been eating loads but have only put on about 2kg at 20 weeks but I had extra to start with, perhaps if you had a low start weight then you would need to eat more?

they didn't ask for a donation this time when we got our scan photos, I was quite pleased as I only had 80p on me.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 14/07/2011 17:38

hey all.

good about the scan news for everyone.

we are not going to find out but only because DP doesn't want too. although our scan isn't till august.

really felt some kicks today :-) and I'm craving bacon too.

anyone else tired and hormonal?

figgygal · 14/07/2011 18:35

We r £10 at bath for photos don't begrudge it though.

Scan next Thursday can't wait to see baby again and hopefully get confirmation everything is ok and whether it's a boy or girl. We too are going for a jungle theme nursery.

I've put on a stone according the scales today but had a very active weekend on the old BBQ and haribo front with friends I also have been hit with the old "sluggish" bowel so think it's maybe not actually that bad. I'm on a reverse diet eating bread and kit kats instead of ryvita and cereal bars so does show that small changes to diet do make a difference. Starting swimming Saturday to get back to some sort of exercise.

LittleMissFlustered · 14/07/2011 20:56

16 week appointment today. PCT policy is to not look for a heartbeat until 20 weeks, but not bothered. Spent most of the appointment talking healthy eating. Dull!

Off to watch Torchwood now. Need a Captain Jack fix:)

plupervert · 14/07/2011 21:35

Hi, all! What a few days, without Threads I'm On! I was quite lost; what about you lot?

I still can't get over the idea of having a girl, and found myself looking happily at cute blue things when looking at baby things online last night! D'oh!

aethelfleda · 14/07/2011 22:20

I'm tired and hormonal, darcys, me, me!

Saw the midwife today (16 week check) and scan's in August then next MW appt is October!!! I know all to be done is some growing but it feels like a long time.

Side effect of the morning sickness (mostly, but not totally gone) is that I've not put much weight on, though if past beebs are to go by, i'll be piling on the pounds when I b'feed them. Oh the joys of enormous appetite after birth!

Awomancalledhorse · 14/07/2011 23:03

My 16wk was today, MW said she was going to do heartbeat check without me asking for it.
It was nice to be reassured that it sounds healthy (although listening to it at home, when we get past each week milestone may have taken the 'specialness' away from it).
Plupervert, I felt lost too, I write on this & a Decembers 1st timers thread over in pregnancy & was completely lost as I couldn't remember where the heck this thread was!

kiteflying · 15/07/2011 04:04

Very tired and still not very hungry, and occasionally sick. Is anyone else managing to get through the enormous list of everything you are supposed to eat in one day when pregnant? I can't face more than muesli and toast in the morning, and some fruit over the course of the day to keep the nausea at bay, and I still have an annoying aversion to broccoli and beans, so I am certain I am not getting the five serves of this that and the other thing set out in my notes! Would I feel better if I made myself eat all these six meals?

DarciesmumandBump2 · 15/07/2011 07:12

Kite sorry to see your still getting nausea I just ate alot of apples and ryvita during the sickness phase. Eat little and often if you can manage it.

Pul I think you'll prob find that boys clothes seem nicer than girls lol

glad I'm not the only one who's tired and hormonal Grin

Regarding cost of scan pictures at Chichester you only have to make a donation DP put £5 in and we got 4 great pics. Sonographer was great at waiting to get a good pic Smile

kiteflying · 15/07/2011 07:20

Just to make you all jealous, in our part of the world, we get all the measurements snapped and recorded and about a minute of real time 3D baby moving and grooving inside - all printed out and burnt on a disc for you to take home, GRATIS. My favourite photo from our last scan is of Little One's toes. It actually says TOES on the scan picture. So cute.

kri5ty · 15/07/2011 07:47

Envy @ kite lol...

I am thinking of getting a 3d scan in a couple of months just to have that :) i don't mind paying for it hehe x

kiteflying · 15/07/2011 08:33

I paid for a late 3D scan with DD (I was in the UK) and it is a wonderful keepsake of your pregnancy, although at the time we were disappointed that the images looked so plasticine-y. I think we had it too late , I think I was 34 weeks and they recommend something closer to 26 weeks.

kri5ty · 15/07/2011 09:03

ooo really 26 weeks?? Only another 7 ish weeks to go then hehe

msbuggywinkle · 15/07/2011 10:14

We had a 3D scan last time, amazing to have a DVD of DD2 playing with her cord!

My friend sent me a lovely parcel that arrived this morning, 2 books she thought I'd like, some yarn she's dyed herself for me and 10 cloth nappies! The blessingway yesterday was lovely, but I am so tired today.

plupervert · 15/07/2011 10:38

Darcies, one thing I did notice, about the difference between the clothes for either gender, is the variety in silhouettes. I was hanging about once after one of DS's playgroups, and noticed that the boys were all: trousers + top. The girls, meanwhile, had a variety of silhouettes, with trouders straight or flared, skirts straight or flared, and the dresses were also constructed differently, as pinafores (out from the shoulders), or with waists (and then the skirt shape was very different).

The sheer variety of girls' clothes in any collection is very daunting, and I think this little one is going to have a lot of DS's dyed-over and embroidered clothes! That's if it is a girl; I'm still not convinced.

Whoever it is, it's still being very quiet. How is everyone else doing with feeling the baby?

Cherrypi · 17/07/2011 08:12

Not felt anything yet and I'm 19+1. Looking forward to it though.

BeeMyBaby · 17/07/2011 15:02

wow, you broke the thread silence. Cherrypi is your scan next week? Maybe you will feel things when you see it on the scan, like others have said happened to them.
