ooo thank you :-) i have just ordered it :o

sevendwarves · 21/06/2011 11:54

Hope everyone is ok today. I've just ordered a pregnancy yoga DVD, I'm really unfit and have never done yoga before so it will be interesting to give it a try. It's by Tara Lee and had really good reviews on amazon so hopefully it'll be ok.

I found out yesterday that a woman I know who lives down the road is also pregnant and due 4 days before me. A very bizarre coincidence but nice to know there'll be at least one person I know at baby-weighing clinic.

LittleMissFlustered · 21/06/2011 15:13

Picked up my doppler, does anyone know if I need to buy any batteries?

DarciesmumandBump2 · 21/06/2011 16:00

Hey Ladies

Had Physio this morning, found out I have joint hypermobility all over my body - which explains all my back issues and the problems in later pregnancy I had last time. She is going to try and build up my core & leg muscles as my joints will stretch more as my pregnancy progresses and take it month by month. Will need to wear a 'sexy' baby bump band again.

So tired and feel quite irritable today :(

xstitch · 21/06/2011 16:17

Mine cane with a batter LMF I don't know if they all do.

msbuggywinkle · 21/06/2011 16:55

Just back from my scan, all is well. Baby was curled up tight and being difficult though. New EDD is more what I thought it would be, 17th. Yay! Can't figure out how to announce though, a close friend had her 12 week scan yesterday and has had a mmc of twins.

Darcies that sucks. Hope that having it figured out means they can deal with it well though.

sevendwarves · 21/06/2011 17:42

mrsbuggywinkle glad your scan went well and sorry to hear about your friend. I guess leave it at least a week or so and maybe tell her first so she hears it from you rather than someone else. Obviously if she's a good friend she'll still be happy for you.

LittleMissFlustered · 21/06/2011 21:21

Doppler had battery, can't detect anything thus far. Not more concerned/paranoid than usual. Am only 13ish weeks.

Darcie, hope that the early warning means they can do more for you.

MrsBW, glad you got good news, though so sad that it comes so close to your friend's news. I'm sure that whatever you do will e the right thing.

Trying not to order a Chinese tonight. Am completely in the mood for something spicy and delivered. Might have a cuppa and head to bed:(

sevendwarves · 21/06/2011 21:22

Just thought I'd share that mothercare have a sale on at the moment. Yesterday I got a plain white maternity top for £8 and a pair of jogging bottoms for £6, they're so comfy and will be great for days when I can't be bothered yoga.

LondonGirly · 22/06/2011 06:48

Morning ladies, had my 16 week appointment with the midwife and here they do check for a heartbeat, she did warn us it might take a little time and then found it a few seconds later. I find it so odd that there are so many differences across the country with what happens at the appointment.

Seven the maternity PJ's/ nursing ones are in the sale as well, they are lovely. I'm still struggling to find a summer dress I like. Mamas and papas have some nice maternity clothes too, I got a denim skirt for £10 from there.

BeeMyBaby · 22/06/2011 06:52

London I am Envy re your appointment!

kri5ty · 22/06/2011 09:35

hey darcies did you ask for the referral to Physio? I am just going to come out and ask my midwife next week to refer me... this pain in my cocyxx isn't normal, nor is the not being able to straighten up, or climb stairs... even though the consultant just dissmissed it!

kri5ty · 22/06/2011 09:44

and i really hope it helps you :)

jomouse · 22/06/2011 09:56

Hello everyone, hope you're all doing well.
Been ages since I last posted as its been mentally busy but still not a lot going on pregnancy wise. Next scan is blummin 20 weeks - seems like so long since the 12 week one.
I am fully into my maternity jeans now (Seraphine & JoJo Maman Bebe) - my lard belly/bump was getting cut in half by my size skinny jeans. Struggling to find mat jeans that don't fall down though. Anyone got any recommendations?
sevendwarves hope you enjoy Tara Lee - I have that DVD as well and have found it pretty helpful. Just found out I shouldn't be doing power plates sessions - very worried as was doing them 2 x per week till I found out they are not recommended for use in pregnancy....aaargh!
Very stressed about that :(

Bleugh, out late last night a home birth group then DD2 was up from 3-5am. Tiredness seems to make me sick again! I'm doing sod all today, but have cheered up a bit since DP rang to see how I'm feeling and we're having chips for tea!

Bit down generally really, not been invited to my sister's birthday dinner. I know she hates that I can conceive and she can't, and I do understand that she doesn't like being around me either with my DDs or when I'm pregnant but it still makes me sad.

Xiaoxiong · 22/06/2011 17:39

seven and jomouse I've got the same DVD, it's helped massively with the occasional sciatica twinges I was getting and I feel all tall and relaxed and glowy when I'm done.

mrsbuggy that's so crap, I'm really sorry. I know I can't imagine what it's like to be in your sister's situation but I would think that destroying her relationship with you can't be helpful in any way! Has she ever been able to talk to you about it?

I think I felt movements this morning!! I was leaning forward over some documents I had spread out on the floor in front of me, and felt what seemed like my heartbeat, a little thudding right at the front of my lower abdomen almost like when you feel your neighbour's bass through the floor, but it was much faster than my heartbeat. I nearly dismissed it as nothing as I was expecting the "butterfly flutters" everyone usually mentions. Anyway I will keep a lookout to see if it happens again.

KateM77 · 22/06/2011 20:27

Darcies I've dug out the physio exercises I was given in last pregnancy and still have the bump band which I'm bound to need to use again once I get bigger. Good job I still have it as midwife says they don't have the budget to give them out anymore!

kri5ty I was referred to physio automatically last time because I put about my existing back problems on my medical history

LittleMissFlustered · 22/06/2011 22:26

Need you all to wish me luck tomorrow, need to reschedule my scan and psychiatrist appointments due later this week. Hoping I don't have to wait too long for new ones.

msbuggywinkle · 23/06/2011 10:16

Littlemissflustered Hope it doesn't take too long to get the apps sorted.

Had a midwife appointment today, the protein in my urine has gone from a + at my booking in to just a trace today, but she's still sending it off just in case. Erm, chances are I'm just not doing the samples properly seeing as trying to pee into a tiny pot while being jumped on by a 2yo and asked constant questions by the 4yo is not easy and I totally forgot about it being mid-stream.

LittleMissFlustered · 23/06/2011 10:22

I must have been on the phone as you typed MrsBW as I have shuffled my scan to a fortnight away and my other appointment to next week. Childcare ought to be classed as an endangered species in my life at the minute >_<

Buy a cheap jug from the supermarket for doing pee samples at home. Or buy a packet of paper/plastic cups as you can take one of those with you for out and about peeing needs.

msbuggywinkle · 23/06/2011 11:12

Childcare for appointments is a nightmare. I end up just taking my DDs to midwife appointments with me, but for scans I book the MIL as soon as I have the appointment.

Yep, cheap jug needed.

HoneyLovesCake · 23/06/2011 11:50

Hi Ladies,

Had my 16 week appointment yesterday; she did check for the heartbeat but I'd already checked it myself that morning as I didn't know what to expect. Took her quite a while to find it; but after some direction from me Grin she finally checked lower than she started out & found it. Interestingly she said that my peeing issue (which turned out not to be a UTI) is probably due to the baby lying quite low & wriggling about on my bladder. Nice! Hopefully he/she moves up soon Hmm I was much less nervous this time & DP was able to come too which was nice.

I have a bit of a cold at the mo which is very annoying; you'd think that pharmaceutical companies could come up with a range of cold medicines specifically designed for pregnancy when your immune system is suppressed & you're more likely to get ill. Angry Hot ribena & paracetamol really aren't cutting it :(

Still, I've been very busy this morning ticking off things on my baby list; contacting birth pool hire places & a hypnobirthing practitioner but I really should've been working so I'd better go now.

Hope you're all well; hope your appointments all go well.

jomouse · 23/06/2011 12:35

Hey honey are you, or anyone, doing hypnobirthing cd's? I want to find one thats not too American sounding or "Knit your own yoghurt" worthy.
Do they exist?

msbuggywinkle · 23/06/2011 12:48

Jo I did the Natal Hypnotherapy discs with DD2, they are a bit lentil-weavery (but so am I!) and her birth was painless, despite her being brow presentation and posterior.

jomouse · 23/06/2011 14:19

thank you msbuggy, that must be the best recommendation I have heard. Hoping to be in tune with my body and in control when the time comes and not freaking out and screaming for drugs (although recognise each is perfectly valid depending on the circs). As a first timer I'm clutching at anything that seems to offer some kind of serenity, basically.
