Hey Ladies

Mopsy Hope you feel better soon

Mizza Thats a pain but good that baby is alright :)

Had my 12 week scan today - turns out I'm 13 weeks instead so new EDD of 22nd Dec. Very active baby :) and all looks good.

msbuggywinkle · 16/06/2011 14:54

Great news Mizza and Darcies

Anyone have any interesting plans for Father's day? We're going to an African music festival all weekend, so hoping for good weather!

OiMissus · 16/06/2011 15:05

Father's day... the african festival sounds good - hopefully the sun will shine and the food will be fantastic! (Why am i always thinking about food?!)
Anyway, what do you think... my DH is only a father-to-be, I'm pregnant with our first. Do you think I should do something for him to mark the occasion? (or do we wait til next year when it's real?) Maybe (food again!) rather than trying to mark it with a card or something, I could make a special dinner - a pie with "Daddy-2-B" written in the pastry... Mmmmm!

MariamM · 16/06/2011 20:17

Hi everyone,

I am new to mumsnet and to this this thread. I had my scan last week and all is well, I am at 14+5weeks with an edd of 18th Dec. I havn't really felt anything as such yet, though keep felling wind in my stomach which could be baby, but I am not 100% sure.

looking forward to getting to know everyone.
x

mopsytop · 16/06/2011 20:25

hi Mariam! Welcome to the thread. I am only 12+4 so definitely too early to feel anything!

jigglebum · 16/06/2011 20:45

Hi everyone - taking the plunge to finally join this thread. Have been lurking but been on the pregnant post MC board only really as still cautious about this pregnancy.

Am 14 +4 , due on 12th Dec. I have a DS already, who is 3 tomorrow. Had a mc at 11 weeks in Dec and been very cautious about spreading the news of this pregnancy this time. Still not feeling super confident about it all. But had my 12 week scan and all was fine, my NT scores are good but did have some slight bleeding last week but had another scan on Mon and all fine and heard the hb with the midwife today, so hopefully all will be fine and no obvious reason for the bleeding (probably an irritated cervix) Makes it a little hard to enjoy this pregnancy so far though. I was blissfully ignorant how easy it all was with DS!

Tiredness is perhaps beginning to abate a bit. How about for others? Still just look fat rather than pregnant though! Not all my clothes fit me now but reluctant to get into my maternity stuff already.

Hope everyone is ok.

xstitch · 16/06/2011 21:02

18th Miriam. I am 14+6 and am due the 9th.

mopsytop · 16/06/2011 21:40

Hi jiggle, welcome. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you. I worry all the time and this my first pregnancy. I hope you can relax a little bit now you are 14 weeks plus. I just look fat too and only 12+4. I only have put on 2lb but my tummy looks so podge already - not pregnant mind, just podgy!!!

thinkingpositive · 16/06/2011 21:53

Hi jiggle oh my... Its like reading a story I wrote.
I started having a mc at 11 weeks in dec. Found out on new years.. However opted for an emergency D&C.
However now 14 weeks and EDD is the 15th of dec. But this is my first.

I feel the same way about accepting this and telling everyone. However I have found some peace within religion, removing emotion and thinking practically.
If it is not Gods way it won't happen. By stressing you will only do damage to urself and possibly baby. You have passed ur high risk period and had the ok at ur 12 week scan so you are now in a good place. Now try enjoy your pregnancy... I know where you are and it will always be in the back of ur mind. But try keep it there.

Good luck with ur awesome journey and welcome to the the thread! You have come to a brilliant thread.. The ladies here are so lovely and friendly..

LittleMissFlustered · 16/06/2011 23:22

Evening all.

Living in ahouse of germs at the minute. Have been trying to find our laminated red cross to pin to the door to let everyone know we are unclean. Well, full of various degrees of cold and man-flu.

Feeling little bit uneasy, think am just being paranoid, but I do that so well.

Has anyone else developed itchy nipples? My left nipple is being evil in it's itchiness. I could quite happily take a sander to it right now, it is so annoying!

howshouldIknow · 16/06/2011 23:25

Me LMF and they get very itchy at the most awkward moments.

OiMissus · 17/06/2011 07:34

Yes - itchy nips - just in the last week! It's awful!
jigglebum and thinkingpositive - I can't imagine how tough this is for you. Wanting to celebrate your pregnancy, but restricted by fear - whatever your religion - God or shopping - just embrace it to help get you through. Jigglebum - treat yourself to some new maternity jeans. This is a new pregnancy, with new opportunities, and a new outcome - treat yourself to something new. :) xxx

msbuggywinkle · 17/06/2011 09:11

Nightmares have started here, I've had horrible ones all through with 1 and 2.

Last night, I'd left DD2 in the living room to talk to a neighbour at the front of the house. Then I got side-tracked and ended up out, having totally forgotten her for 2 hours. Woke up just as I'd realised I'd forgotten her, had to wake DP up for a cuddle!

sevendwarves · 17/06/2011 11:21

Hi ladies, hope everyone is ok. I've had a super busy week and not had a chance to come on here.

I felt my first couple of flutterings yesterday which was a big relief. My jeans feel really loose today so I think the baby must have moved up out of my pelvis. Hopefully that means I'll have a nice bump soon rather than looking fat!

Xiaoxiong · 17/06/2011 13:12

seven I am so envious Envy

I have a definite bump but it does look uncomfortably like flab still, and I haven't felt any flutters or movements or anything. I'm a day off 16 weeks, but I know it takes some people ages to feel anything (and it's my first as well, not sure if that makes any difference) so I'm trying to be patient.

sevendwarves · 17/06/2011 13:41

Tyelperion I'm 13+3 but this is my 2nd. I didn't feel any movements until around 19 weeks with DS so don't worry that you're not feeling anything yet. Hopefully it won't be long though.

MariamM · 17/06/2011 13:48

Hi, the sonographer dated me wrong and I am actually 13+6, so have put myself a week back.

MariamM · 17/06/2011 13:49

I've also not put on any weight, which I am glad about as I am very overwight. But have no bump just my rolls of flab

xstitch · 17/06/2011 13:50

People who know I am pregnant say I have a small bump, other people think I am fat.

Mizza76 · 17/06/2011 14:52

The midwife actually weighed me this week, I have put on 3kg (6.5lbs) since the beginning of the pregnancy. No idea if that's normal? I recently lost 20kg (most of it baby weight from previous pregnancies) and am not looking forward to having to lose a major portion of it again, but I'm still feeling sicky and so am eating whatever settles my stomach (=a lot of macaroni cheese...).

LittleMissFlustered · 17/06/2011 21:43

I missed the chuffing delivery of my doppler today. Sodding postman came at half nine! Half nine! What use if half nine to somebody who has a school run by bus to contend with?!

Chuff!

Yes, yes I am using too many exclamation marks. However, I am not an Opera Ghost so you can all rest easy, even if you don't get the reference Wink

msbuggywinkle · 18/06/2011 09:03

Argh! I need to buy a dress for a close friend's wedding! No idea what to buy, its in 6 weeks so I'll be 21 weeks so it will need to be maternity but I can't find anything I like.

sevendwarves · 18/06/2011 13:26

mrsbuggywinkle I had that dilemma last week. Obviously I don't know what your budget is but I found the only place that had nice wedding-appropriate maternity dresses was crave but they're expensive (starting at around £95). In the end I just went for a floor-length floaty style from Bhs but Dorothy Perkins also have some nice floaty styles.

BeeMyBaby · 18/06/2011 15:55

I'm pleased to say that as of yesterday, when I was 16+3 I started to feel movements, very pleased and and think I may now be able to start to relax (a tiny ickle bit).

Crazyafterthought · 18/06/2011 17:51

Hi I thought I would join in- have been watching a few threads with various dates as I have had 2 miscarriages in the last 6 months (previously 3 healthy babes but not for 10 years). Delighted to feel more confident to join one. I am 12+6 and had a cvs yesterday (due to my great age) and am housebound for the next couple of days feeling that I have been terribly brave and am sporting a huge bruise. DH has gone to investigate a new mortgage for a loft conversion so I think he is convinced its really going to happen this time. CHildren are very excited even though they will be so much older and I think the novelty will wear off fast. Friends keep asking 'is it planned?'- don't know whats more embarrassing that it isn't, or that it might be.

I have to buy a dress for a party (my brother's 25th wedding)in a couple of weeks but as its my fourth I am showing fat or bumpy already. Crave are great but most of the dresses that I have seen are short or at the knee, same with Isabella Oliver- but they are expensive too. The calf length ones are out of stock. Anyone seen a dress with sleeves that is calf length?- no longer care about the style or the colour!
