Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Its a pleasure kri5ty. I really hope you, xstitch, LittleMissFlustered, ThePippy and anyone else who bought one, gets as much joy as i do...
Yes, i do catch myself checking everyday.. However i just really enjoy hearing my little one.... Ohhh, how exciting times.....Enjoy...

msbuggywinkle · 14/06/2011 13:56

Tylepherion good to hear things are all well with you. Hopefully the clothes will at minimum hold off the pain for you.

I have a (dating) scan date now finally, its next Tuesday which doesn't give me much flaming time to arrange child care for scared-of-hospitals DD1 does it!?!

However, in exciting stuff, I'm definitely feeling movement now. Have been telling myself not to be silly for a few days but I'm feeling bumps down towards my cervix and I guess it is only actually a few days earlier than I felt movement with DD2. Very reassuring though!

thinkingpositive · 14/06/2011 19:31

Hi Ladies, i need to ask for some Recommendations???

I know its slighty early but i like things to be organised....

Im in South London and looking for a photographer who will do a "Bump and Baby" photo shoot.
Ive been looking at the prices of some of them and rather shocked!
I dont want to take a mortgage out just for a few photos.....
Anyone drop a few names??

Thanks ladies

HoneyLovesCake · 15/06/2011 12:20

Hi Ladies, it's been a while since I've managed to post on here as I've been so busy. Found out last week that my cat is pregnant too! I feel bad as she's only 8 months; she & her sister were due to be spayed this Friday but she managed to get out of a window & now the vet says to expect at least 4 kittens :( Luckily she's big for her age so shouldn't have any problems but it's quite funny watching her having mood swings that remind me a lot of myself Blush I've been in floods of tears more than once the past few days over absolutely nothing at all.

Apart from being quite weepy I've been getting headaches pretty much every day for the past 2 weeks & paracetamol does nothing at all so I don't even bother :( Also I was a bit worried this weekend that I had a UTI or cystitis as I'm desperate to pee all the time & my bladder aches but I can't seem to go when I try. But a bit of googling makes me think that somethings pressing on my tubes so that my bladder isn't able to empty fully. Has anyone else had this issue? I've got my 16 wk appt next wk so I thought I may as well leave it until then.

msbuggywinkle I'm so jealous you're feeling movements Envy I've felt nothing at all.

xstitch · 15/06/2011 12:30

honey I would call your surgery and ask if you can hand in a sample. Just pick up a sample bottle and hand it in. You may be right and its just pressure on the tubes but a UTI in pregnancy they prefer to treat asap for your sake and the babies.

Warning: Rant

I had my 15wk mw appointment today at 1pm but i had to call and cancel because i was up all night with my son who has a high temp and he has a history of fitting. As i dont drive i didn't want him waiting for the bus to the doctors so i call my inlaws and they had a bowls match and could drop us off but then i had to make my own way home when my son sat out side a bolwing green for 3 hours! Then they asked if i could rearrange as it would be better for them if it was next week. Hopefully but next week my son will not have a temp and we can both go on the bus Angry

So i have cancelled appointment and have one next week now, which i shoukd have done in the beging and not involved my horrid inlaws.

I'm a hormonal pregenet woman in a rage Blush

HoneyLovesCake · 15/06/2011 13:26

Thanks for the advice xstitch I'll give them a call today. I tend to be a bit blasé about my health (I always wait a week to see if a problem sorts itself out on its own Blush) but I guess it's not just me now...can't quite get used to that Confused

xstitch · 15/06/2011 14:16

Just had my NT results through the post. So relieved was worried about the miscarriage risk of the amnio especially when I have been pregnant so many times. Didn't want to get that far and risk it all again.

HoneyLovesCake · 15/06/2011 14:46

Congrats xstitch such a relief :) By the way, did they give you a 1 in xxx number? I got mine through the post but it just says that I'm at "lower risk"; I wondered if this was normal?

xstitch · 15/06/2011 14:48

Mine says the same as yours. I believe some trusts give actual figures but doesn't look like this one does.

BeeMyBaby · 15/06/2011 14:57

bit dissapointed, had my 16 week appointment today and they said they no longer look for a heartbeat so I have to wait till my 23 week appointment for that. Felt the whole appointment was a bit pointless.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 15/06/2011 19:30

Hey Ladies

Honey I'd get checked to be on the safe side.

Xstitch bet that was a relief thru the door this morning.

Bee thats disappointing for you. I thought it was standard practice they check at every appt.

Got my scan tomorrow morning so excited Grin

xstitch · 15/06/2011 22:05

I hope they don't do that here bee don't think the stress would be good for me. I am looking forward to being able to feel proper kicks. I have been getting strange sensations just above where my pelvis is, I have been wondering if it is my uterus stretching. I don't remember feeling it before.

BeeMyBaby · 16/06/2011 05:55

xstitch, I know you're in Scotland, so perhaps (I'm in Edinburgh). When I was pregnant with DD in 2009, they let me hear the heartbeat at 15 weeks but they apparently changed the guidance in my area. The only bright side xstitich as you point out is it shouldn't be long till there are lovely little movements.

OiMissus · 16/06/2011 09:15

Tylepherion - your post made me giggle, my DH wasn't keen on getting a heartrate thing, and instead had his ear to my tummy last night - he said "there's a lot of movement down there" - well, we had only eaten dinner 20 minutes previously!!
I'm jealous of all the 15 and 16 week appointments, and all you who have been feeling the baby moving. Nothing so far. In Bolton, I had a 10 week MW appt, and 12 week scan, then there's a 18wk MW appt and a 20 week scan (18th July - can't wait!).
Oh, and can I have a little rant please? Present company excepted, why is it that EVERYONE else is pregnant? Everywhere I go I am surrounded by pregnant ladies with bigger bumps! I want to be special! :)

msbuggywinkle · 16/06/2011 09:21

Darcies hope your scan goes well.

OiMissus I have the same thing, one friend gave birth on Sunday, two are due in about 8 weeks and I have two friends due in December! I have serious bump envy, although my Mum says I do have a bump now (hadn't seen her for a fortnight as she'd been on holiday) I can't see it!

This morning (just chance!) the baby moved a few times when DDs 1 and 2 were arguing, getting them to come and explain to the baby why they were making so much bloody noise really worked to distract them!

kri5ty · 16/06/2011 09:34

HoneyLovesCake yes i have that feeling... i know we are ment to go to the toilet lots, but i feel desperate, and when i do, not much there?! I have a consultant app on monday so will mention it then, but today i have an aching in my lower left groin area

i thought i had thrush, and rathe than go to the doctors, i googled it, and found out that docs just prescribe caneston combi (rather than the oral tablet), so i botught some and it cleared up, i know i should have prob gne to the docs, but by the time i get home from work im just too tired to go!

i think i may have spd too so thats another thing to add tot he list when i see the consultant!

kri5ty · 16/06/2011 09:35

good luck darcies :o

Xiaoxiong · 16/06/2011 09:52

kri5ty glad that sorted it out. I wasn't going to the loo much but when I saw the midwife on Tues he said I should be drinking more water than I'm used to (or even that feels comfortable) because you need much more water when you're pregnant. He said 2L is the minimum during the day, more if you have coffee or tea as well (because they are diuretics). And he said this wasn't just the recommended amount, it's the minimum. Since then I've been drinking loads, going to the loo loads and best of all, no headaches since then so I must have been dehydrated without realising.

OiMissus and mrsbuggy I don't have any friends or family who are pregnant but suddenly the world seems full of strangers who are pregnant - I go through Waterloo station twice a day and this morning it seemed like every single woman in there had a bump! I think I'm just paying more attention (unless there's a baby boom right now that I don't know about...)

kri5ty · 16/06/2011 09:56

hmm yes i am very bad at drinking water, i always have been, i guess i should carry a bottle around with me to make sure i drink at least 2l!

mopsytop · 16/06/2011 10:08

Hope your scan goes well Darcies!
I have been in bed all day yesterday with a really bad headache. I am finding it hard to cope, I've had so many awful headaches recently where I just have to go to bed, and a migraine as well last week where I honestly thought I would die. No pain relief (paracetamol doesn't work) is just such a nightmare.

OiMissus · 16/06/2011 10:18

Oh mopsytop, I hope you're feeling better soon. I've never had migraines, and don't get headaches very often, but the regular advice is water water water and plenty of it. You sound really down, I hope you're getting support from the people around you. If not, perhaps try and meet up with others in your area from mumsnet.

(I really must get some work done, I've been on here all morning!)

Keep smiling honey, and look forward to the little package of joy that'll be here sooner than we realise - it'll all be worth it then! XXX

mopsytop · 16/06/2011 10:23

I am drinking a lot of water. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do except sit it out. but it is so stressful as it is impacting my work and I really want to finish this damn PhD. I keep looking at the scan picture to remind myself it is all for a good reason.

I am debating trying acupuncture, even though it's quite expensive. anyone have any experience of it?

mopsytop · 16/06/2011 10:25

p.s. thanks OiMissus for your sympathy! I think most people just think it's normal pregnancy headaches but I was on anti-migraine medication every day before I got pregnant and had to stop it when pregnant, which is why it's so bad. Anything like 4Head stick or anything just doesn't work because my headaches are so ferocious. I can't move when they are really bad, if I move my head feels like it will split open. It's very frustrating and I must admit I am very down about it.

Mizza76 · 16/06/2011 14:42

I finally had my NHS 12-week scan this morning - except it was actually a 14-week scan. I'm actually super annoyed at the NHS because I phoned the hospital up to tell them that they'd scheduled my nuchal/dating scan for when I was 13+6 and that if the baby measured any larger, I wouldn't be able to do the nuchal scan, and asked for an earlier appointment. They said it would be okay and wouldn't give me anything earlier. Of course I actually measured 14+2 so they couldn't do it. Why didn't they listen to me?? Grrrr!

On the bright side, everything else ok with the baby...
