BrownB · 24/06/2011 08:02

Just brilliant news Orchid! GrinGrinGrin

AlpinePony · 24/06/2011 08:07

Well done orchid! What a sneeze, just as well you chose not to procrastinate getting organised last night!

AlpinePony · 24/06/2011 08:31

My pregnancy appears to be progressing well.

  1. Wide awake at 2.30am?
  2. Awake at 4am with the 'eat weetabix or die'?
  3. Blocked nose, sore throat, fuzzy head
  4. Nausea and sea-sickness?

Yaaaaaay. Clearly I am pregnant and am now eagerly awaiting the coldsores and acne. (Gurns)

owlbooty · 24/06/2011 08:37

OMG I missed all the excitement!

Ace news on the great labour, Orcs , and welcome to world MicroO Grin Am guessing your parents couldn't possibly have got there in time though?

Hoorah for the new ESHbaybee!

Who is top of the list now? Oh good lord. Tis our Ginny. It's all getting alarmingly close now isn't it? I have MW appt today. Am hoping nothing detrimental is discovered as that seems to be par for the course at this stage.

Ocarina · 24/06/2011 08:38

Hooray - many many congratulations Orchid Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 24/06/2011 08:51

Good luck for MW, Owlie. Hopefully your appt will be fine and you will have bucked the trend!

Am going to pick up the TENS machine today - has been round lots of pregnant friends but is the one i borrowed last time too so like an old friend. Prob need to get some new batteries and pads. Am due a month today! Is all getting very close now

Ginfox · 24/06/2011 09:04

Erm..... Hi there. . Just been to t'other place to see if any Micro-O photos have arrived - none yet. Brilliant news Orcs. Happy snuffling, and looking forward to reading easy-sneezy birth story soon.

Alps I'd forgotten about the joy of random differs insomnia, then having finally got to sleep, waking up as unable to breathe through my nose. It really is a magical time.

It can't happen soon enough now BarnOwl. I wake up with sore ribs and swollen hands, and the discomfort increases as the day progresses. Would love for Foxcub to make an early appearence - and cub does keep teasing me by moving down, then back up again - but suspect we will go into extra time.

How's the packing going GG?

CurlyCasper · 24/06/2011 10:05

congrats orchid! Glad it went so smoothly. Here's to another little girl with a fab birth date. Xxx

MadameBoo · 24/06/2011 10:20

Well done Orchid and welcome to the world microO :)

rocketleaf · 24/06/2011 10:29

Huge congrates orchid and welcome to the world microO, ohh now you have 'one of each' aren't you clever?

Oh god alps I recognise 2. very well. and still do. I've had to reinstate the snack box in the bedroom for the 4-5 am feed. Sorry to hear the sickness looks like it is going to reappear, was really hoping this pregnancy would be different for you as sounds like you had such a miserable time last time. Suck it up baby Wink

good luck at the MW booty sure all will be well.

laurielou · 24/06/2011 10:54

Yippee! Good day for me to stick my head in again. Orchid many congratulations! Do you hold a record for the speediest sneeze or sommat? Amaze. Enjoy the snuffling ..........

LadyG sorry to hear about the GD type thing. Hope you're not struggling too much. Starting ML must be a blessed relief, though you're meant to relax, not turn into a cleaning demon (like I followed my own advice Smile).

Once again, apologies for my radio silence. I feel guilty for constantly being here when SWI & diffed, then as soon as BugBoy arrives I disappear in a puff of smoke. I am slowly catching up with you all, & do think about you . Mr Loz returns to work on Mon & as much as that thought terrifies me it will help us both get into some kind of routine. And my daily routine includes catching up with ESH news.

Rie 30 something wimminz definitely get updiffed. It will happen for you too. I hope you don't have to wait quite as long as me, but almost 4 years to the day after I stopped my pill BugBoy arrived. So keep on keeping on.

Bitey I'm glad my brief tale of so-not-planned-this-way-birth helped a bit. If you need more of a pep talk PM me - I promise no-one could've been more scared of c-section than me ...... I will also get around to putting my tale in CRESH. One day. Soon. Promise.

Anyway, Mr Loz & BugBoy are currently out walking. I have a headache & Mr Loz said I needed to relax. Secretly I think he wanted to kidnap BugBoy for some boy time before he goes back to work. Who can blame him? BugBoy is well lush Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 24/06/2011 12:30

Lovely to hear from you, Lozza. And you can be forgiven on the radio silence - the early weeks can be a bit all consuming! Although am still in de Nile about that as my second will obv. be nothing like the first and will in fact come out sleeping through and potty trained Grin.

Not packing, Gin. As we're paying people to pack for us I'm buggered if i am going to lift a finger in that direction. They are coming to do it next Saturday. I am frantically arranging mail redirections and cancelling stuff and doing change of address shiz. But I have MiniG this afternoon to keep me busy - I may even brave the swimming pool!

And you teeter away.

owlbooty · 24/06/2011 12:33

Hello lovely :) Glad all is going well chez Bug.

Well my MW appt went well - at least I think it did, apparently OWlet is 2/5 engaged and I don't know yet whether this is good, bad or just random. She wasn't 100% sure it was his head that was engaged at first but after some Very Vigorous Prodding decided it most probably was but she will check again at 36 weeks.

However I pranged the fucking van into a car as I pulled up to the clinic - forgot that I was not driving my tiny car temporarily and misjudged the length of the vehicle. Made a big scrape on both car and van. I now feel miserable. :(

LadyGoneGaga · 24/06/2011 12:43

Oh no, Owlie! Fantastic news on midwife. That is the important thing, focus on that. Shit about the van. But I would like to say last time I moved house I pranged the hire van parking - twice. Easily done Sad. Don't feel bad.

Wanted to thank you as well for that link to the low GI recipes. I did my meal plans for week yesterday and last night we had Steak, Chickpea and tomato salad with harissa yoghurt dressing and sweet potato wedges - kept blood sugars right down and was yummy to boot. Tonight is Puy lentil and Halloumi salad.

Am actually finding the food changes ok - struggling with breakfasts though. Nurse and Dietitician both said Branflakes and Porridge fine but both sent sugars too high. Going to give Scrambled egg and bacon on toast a whirl tomorrow.

Ivegotmrbitey · 24/06/2011 12:59

Weeee! Congratulations orchid! Hello MicroO! Happy Birthday to you and Happy first Birthday to wee caspar too Smile

Hello lozenge! How's the snuffling? Have been reduced to tears again by the thought of daddy baybee bonding now! I have had the dampest third trimester ever and enjoyed a weep at least once a day.

Sorry to hear about the arrival of shitty symtpoms ski I was able to eat Ritz crackers without even waking up in the end although I imagine weetabix is better for not making so many crumbs in the bed?

Are you using your TENS machine now gaga? My active birth woman recommended using it every day from now on in to teach my body to produce endorphins. Just not sure how long to use it for - it's very tickly! BB is big but not enormous, my friend was the sonographer on duty and said he's measuring bang on for the dates and then realised she was looking at the wrong line on the graph and said "ooooh he's measuring lovely and big, but not off the scale". I hope she was being factual and medical and not just kind!

Good luck today at the MW boots, it's all getting a bit real now isn't it?

Ivegotmrbitey · 24/06/2011 13:04

Cross post, fuckity fuck boots. Don't be mizz though, it may not be that expensive. Glad the midwife appt went well - 2/5s engaged? Eeeeeeeep!

I reversed tiny car into a bollard yesterday and am CONVINCED that someone has adjusted my wing mirrors and it is not because I am too fat to look over my shoulder!

gaga what about scrambled egg and bacon with a big grilled mushroom? That was an Atkins fave of mine?

owlbooty · 24/06/2011 13:38

Thank you lovelies for making me feel less dumb than I currently do Grin

Needless to say I'm not bloody driving again for the rest of the day (or possibly the weekend) until I have actually had some sleep.

Good luck finding a tasty breakfast, GG - scrambled eggs on toast was my staple diet during the first 12 weeks of diffedness, it was about the only proper food I ate. I think that Burgen bread is v.low GI due to all the seeds etc?

Bites eeeeep indeed. However, I almost got stuck in a turnstile yesterday whilst out for a walk - the mere thought of Owlet turning up 2 weeks late and thus me being 8 weeks from delivery atm makes me wail, though, I don't think my hip joints will take it and my maternity clothes don't fit very well any more either. Plus the 3 wees a night is getting silly especially as nothing actually comes out. TMI?

LadyGoneGaga · 24/06/2011 14:12

No, I won't be using the TENS machine yet, Bitey Interesting she says that though. I guess it makes sense. But I was just told to put it on as early in labour as possible so the endorphins have chance to build up. Feels too weird/annoying when you're not actually in labour and I don't want to use up the pads.

Taking one of cats to vet this avo - she has some weird scabby skin thing going on and would rather it got resolved before baby comes.

rocketleaf · 24/06/2011 15:01

TB backed the car into a wall the other day, then drove through a 30 speed camera at 40 later that afternoon. And he hasn't got the excuse of being pregnant. :o

Ivegotmrbitey · 24/06/2011 15:09

Grin at TB's non diffed differ driving!

owlie me too! And I am inexplicably heavy in the night, my legs are bowing as I scuttle to the toilet only to have the smallest wee ever.

That's the thing gaga, am I just going to be annoying myself every night? Cos the FDH and evil cat are doing that job anyway without electricity being involved!

I have just hoovered the top of my wardrobe. It was filthy, have developed a nanna's obsession with dust as the root of all evil. Hoping this is a good sign the BB is planning an on time arrival.

Medee · 24/06/2011 15:12

hurrah for BabyOrchid!

Ginfox · 24/06/2011 16:17

Steady on with the queue-jumping schemes Bitey Grin. I have used TENS for my dodgy back, and initially found it weird and irritating. I persevered with it tho - mainly 'cos I was at the Physioterrorist's at the time - and once I got used to it was ok. And it certainly relieved the pain, although I didn't really appreciate how well until I got up from the couch, and could move relatively normally.

LadyG your new diet sounds amaze. And tis only for a few weeks, then you can presumably go back to normal.

I am currently making pasties to go in the freezer. Hoping that they are up to their intended job - providing a meal I can eat with one hand. My current ML schedule consists of doing something useful/productive once every 3 days or so, then arsing about for the rest of the time, so this batch-cook gives me the weekend off. Grin

owlbooty · 24/06/2011 17:19

Tis true; at least if you have to eat low GI foods you are now on mat leave so may actually have the chance to prepare something v.tasty.

I have purchased a mop and bucket, 2 bottles of bleach and new dusters. Something is very, very wrong here. Grin Not as wrong as hoovering the top of the wardrobe although I did hoover the bookcase this afternoon to try and remove some of the plasterdust.

rocket can he blame it on sleep deprivation? I reckon it's turning me into a right muppet :)

Scorpette · 24/06/2011 17:29

HUZZAH for MicroO! What a night to not lurk for once, gah Sounds like all went smoothly and I hope 'my' hossie did you proud, Orchid :) Cannot tell you how happy I am for you and can't wait to see announcement and pics on FB Give her some snuffles from me Grin XXXX

PS Bitey, unless you start boiling your pants, you ain't got nuffink on my Gran's OCD...

PPS Would write more if Mr T didn't start screaming blue murder the second I do anything unrelated to shoving my boob in his face...
