LGG - hmmm... lentils for breakfast...! Grin
Alps - fingers crossed that the puking crown is being saved for the next lucky winner. Didn't you say that the day it all starts for real is 6+5? Or were you making that up?

MadameBoo · 24/06/2011 19:08

Lady I used to eat Porridge - wierd that it sent your sugars high. Was it from proper oats? I think I used to put raisins in mine. Seeded bread toast (tesco do a nice 'finest' one) Dairy products always bring down the gi of a meal - because I was diffed at Christmas the only treat I would allow myself were christmas pudding and cream - but obviously you have to watch the fat content with that kind of thing.

LadyGoneGaga · 24/06/2011 20:27

Yep, proper oats, Boo. It seems weird that different carbs affect diff people differently. May be a portion control issue Blush. Will try the scrambled eggs on brown toast tomorrow. Mmm, Xmas pudding and cream. I had some strawberries and cream for pudding tonight and they were absolutely fine. And they taste much sweeter because I haven't eaten any sugar for two weeks!

Pasties sound like a great idea, Gin. One handed food is a must!

Ah Score lovely to see you round these parts. Sounds like you're having a bit of a tough time of it right now but think you've had some good advice in the CRESH. So I'll just offer you some cake and gin.

Cosmosis · 24/06/2011 21:56

Hurrah for new baybee!!!! congrats orchid

MadameBoo · 24/06/2011 21:58

Pictures are on FB! Prepare to melt...

Ginfox · 25/06/2011 11:19

Just back from FB and can confirm that Micro-O is extremely cute and squee-inducing. Also need to enquire where the babygro comes from, as it is luffly.

Today I am treating myself to a manicure and pedicure because a) not very good at DIY jobs, and b) can't reach my toes. And because I need to concentrate on making the most of ML just in case Foxcub starts rushing towards the exit.

Scorp sounds as if you need to have a word with MrT re: the importance of not interrupting Mummy when she's trying to catch up on gossip. Grin

How was brekkie LadyG?

LadyGoneGaga · 25/06/2011 12:34

Breakfast was ok, Gin. One slice of wholemeal bread with two scrambled eggs and chorizo. Agreed with my blood sugars Grin. So hopefully can keep this up til weds and they won't put me on insulin.

Enjoy the pedicure, Gin.

Have squee-ed everywhere over Micro-O's pictures.

Normally my feet get puffy throughout the day but are ok first thing from lying down. Today they were puffy upon waking. Meh. Anyone else's doing this? No other symptoms so not thinking is PE.

OP posts:
owlbooty · 25/06/2011 13:41

I have had random foot puffage although tends to be when I've done too much sitting down. MW said that if it goes away she is not worried about it, it's only if it stays there/gets worse and there are other dodgy symptoms that she would worry. Tis bloody difficult putting your feet up at this stage though isn't it? Impedes the breathing Grin

I dribble hungrily in the direction of your breakfast menu. Yum yum yum. I LOVE chorizo.

rocketleaf · 25/06/2011 14:08

Squeee! That is all. :o

Ivegotmrbitey · 25/06/2011 14:20

Breakfast chez gaga sounds yum! How are the feet now? My left foot puffs with no obvious provocation, but goes back down again with no explanation either. Are you drinking enough? I'm sure you are but I have found I am much thirstier than usual this week.

MicroO is gorgeous, have squeed and gushed far too much at her! It helps them grow doesn't it?

I had a scare earlier while scrubbing the grouting, a shockingly hurty pain all round back and bump that I couldn't help doubling up for. Had to be helped into a lying down position by terrified FDH and we were both convinced that biteybach was on his way. Turned out after a vigorous back rub that a mighty fart was the actual cause Blush. Have lost all credibility with the FDH who now thinks I am a stinky drama queen!

Enjoy your pedicure foxy, are you going to have coloured toes? There is a lovely choice in the palais spa Smile

starcuntmole · 25/06/2011 22:10

Congratulations
orchid our kid, sounds fabulous quite sneezy
Birth, happy snuffles! (can someone discreetly tell
Me who O is on fb, cos there's an ESH I'm not

Bloody iPod. Have already written this
Once before, and it takes me for-frikken-ever to type
On this thing.
Love and head butts all round (butt. Snigger)

AlpinePony · 26/06/2011 06:00

Hahahahahhaa bitey! :)

owlbooty · 26/06/2011 10:21

Hurrah for the Mighty Guff!

Ginfox · 26/06/2011 11:06

Bitey I am feeling your pain. Better since changing to spatone, but MrFox has manyatime remarked on how much Foxcub is moving around in there, only to be informed that actually that was a massive fart-bubble moving slowly and painfully towards the exit.

FannyPriceless · 26/06/2011 19:12

Hello PESHes. I'm just dropping in to offer my sympathy for the 30 C + preggo day. Hope you are all coping. My 25 wk diffed friend came over today and it brought back so many memories!

We coped by attempting to recreate 1980s wine coolers to drink in the garden. (For the record, pinot grigio + tropical fruit juice + cheap lemonade seemed to approximate it quite well.Grin)

rocketleaf · 26/06/2011 20:11

Anyone for a Taboo and Lemonade?

Orchid12 · 26/06/2011 21:05

Evening all. I feel the PESH pain with this heat, especially all the late on differs.

Starcunt you've got me interested! That would be a small world Smile

Well, all is well here. Squidge is making her presence felt Chez Orchid. She is a cuddle monkey and is not too fond of being put down. It's lovely to enjoy the cuddles, but makes sleeping a bit of an issue. She's feeding ok though.

I'll write a proper birth story when I get chance, but in brief:
As you know I wasn't sure if I was actually in labour until things were really hotting up about dinner time. Phoned the hozzie and was told that all my local hozzies were closed because they were full. Was asked to travel an hour away, which I knew by that point was simply not an option. Because I'd mentioned reduced movement over the previous night, they suggested I went to the other hozzie in the city just for monitoring but to be aware they would probably send me home. By the time I got there the contractions were coming every couple of minutes or so, so there was no way they could refuse me in the end. Despite several hairy moments when the heartrate went to 200bmp (they are happy with it being between 100 and 150bmp), the labour was pretty much ok. There was the odd discussion of an emergency c-section if the heartrate didn't stabilise, but it did enough to reassure them. Given the history of heart issues, this obviously worried me (and more so Mr O who was better placed to worry than I at the time!). Anyhoo, we got there in the end and the best news of all is that squidge's ECG came back with no issues Grin. She's completely free of any conditions which is great news. She does have a clicky right hip and I've just been told today that she is allergic to my washing powder or fabric softener (both sensitive) so I've had to re-wash all the clothes and bedding this afternoon to see if I can stop the little rash that has developed. That all aside, she's utterly gorgeous. Mini O already loves her to bits, despite not being the brother he wanted. He's been very sweet and won't let anyone else near her - he wants to hold her all the time.

Will catch up properly soon, but a bit tired so heading to bed!

LadyGoneGaga · 26/06/2011 22:54

Orcs I also noticed you are friends with someone who was in my Differs yoga class and works in my office (don't know her very well so she's not on my Friend list though). Small world.

Thanks for sharing birth story. So pleased everything went well and her heart is fine. And so lovely MiniO is loving his little sister Grin. What are you meant to wash clothes with if not sensitive stuff?

I am so frigging hot. NOT enjoying the weather it has to be said. But apparently after a hot morning it is going to rain tomorrow Grin. Am such a killjoy!

36 weeks today - only another week and am full term! And in good news my blood sugar readings have all been good for two full days now. So hopefully have cracked the diet thing and won't have to go onto insulin. Grin

OP posts:
owlbooty · 27/06/2011 10:06

Orcs she sounds ace :) So pleased she's had the all clear on the heart ishoos.

GG I too am praying it rains today. I almost puked from the heat walking into work today. Nice work on the blood sugar readings :)

FoxofGin I used to work for NHS as well and also went nuts every time I was actually off long enough to merit painting my nails. Electic blue metallic paint wins my vote Grin Am still only managing to take one evil iron tablet every other day - don't know how the feck you managed to take the full dose. I would have been doubled over.

I am now going to sacrifice some goats in the hope that a: the weather turns cool and b: failing that, all the ESHbaybees that are due turn up on time or a little bit early rather than going overdue. OVERDUE IS NOT ALLOWED. Too bastard hot.

Ivegotmrbitey · 27/06/2011 11:01

Cripes it's hot! Am also selfish indeed and wishing for rain ASAP. Until then perhaps an ice cream?

Great blood sugar news gaga, how are you feeling? Happy 36 weeks too! I am counting down to 37 weeks when I shall relax about going to full term, 38 weeks when I shall finish work, 39 weeks when I hope bitey bach will arrive and 40 weeks when I shall the total arse with still waiting for his arrival!

She sounds gorgeous orcs, glad it went so well despite the scares. The mind boggles re: detergent though! What have you used instead? I washed everything in non-bio ecover but it didn't occur to me that even that could provoke an allergy. Bless her, hope she feels better now?

BasilBrush I had a right strop on Saturday about my friends having loads of fun in Gbry then got a text from one of them on her way to the hospital having broken her elbow falling in the mud. The FDH is accusing me (in that day's unfounded accusation) of hexing her with my extreme Envy Envy. he was right as it happens. I am a witch Shock

rocket a taboo and lemonade sounds amazin' and a lot nicer than the respberry leaf tea I have just choked down!

Thanks for sympathy and wine coolers fanny Smile

rocketleaf · 27/06/2011 11:02

Lovely news ourkid so glad she has been given the all clear and miniO is being protective big brother

macaroonmum · 27/06/2011 11:42

'Lo all. I am back from a semi-relaxing holiday although have discovered that walking around hot cities (no matter how wonderful) and sightseeing really don't mix with 34-week pregnancy and 30° heat. Just in case anyone was thinking of doing something silly like that.

Orchid huge congrats on the lill'O she's gorgeous! and well done on cheeky move of elbowing your way into the hospital Wink Really glad everythings clear with heart issues and you can just enjoy the snuffles.

Bitey Grin at witch-like powers - perhaps you could sort us all out for the mass lay in a few weeks?

GG great news about blood sugar levels! My BP is rising and I have sausages for fingers and toes but if I could cross them, I would.

I am practically living on Gaviscon at the minute. Can I add that to the wine coolers?

Ginfox · 27/06/2011 12:27

Welcome home Macca. Of course we aren't going to try sight-seeing at 30something weeks - unless it's an ice-cream factory. Even here in bonny Scotland it's humid and horrible, but without a hint of sunshine. So typical British summer then.

Owl pliz to direct us to your interesting ice-cream recipes. They sound lush.

Luffly story Orcs, and she is absolutely gorgeous. Must admit it never occured to me that our nearest hosp might be too full to take us, but it is a small unit. I phoned up today to ask if we could go and look round, and they said no as they were full and rushed off their feet. Oh well, sure it'll be fine on the day.

Well done on sugar levels LadyG, esp as you've sorted it so quickly. Fingers crossed you get green light on Weds.

Bitey what else can you invoke with your witchy super-powers? Am 38wks tomorrow and really quite bored of being sore/swollen/too hot/kicked/weeing, anything you can do? Alternatively if you could at least sort the weather out, that would be peachy.

owlbooty · 27/06/2011 12:32

Naw, Maccers , with minty gaviscon we must make Mojitos. Tis the law Grin

I am fully expecting my hossie to be full to bursting as it used to handle about 4000 births a year and now handles over 8000. With no extra facilities or staff. Yeah, cos that's a good idea, isn't it? They cancel home births and MLU births at the drop of a hat as well which fills me with trepidation. My plan was just to refuse point blank to go in and then they will have to send someone out.

Ginners here is the ice cream recipe, I luffs it.

Ivegotmrbitey · 27/06/2011 12:44

No problemo foxy would you like some unseasonable frost tomorrow? If that fails you are welcome to come and sit in the fridge with me?

Holiday sounds lovely if a bit over exertive (is that a word?) roonie. Lets see your tan lines then
