diedandgonetodevon, our midwife (or madwife) is a bit nuts but she's ok - must have been awful having a crap one, poor you. How does scan booking work where you are - will the mw do it?

ReadyforRound2 · 29/06/2011 13:21

Ok, lets just stay together then as a feb group, it was just a suggestion anyway... also I don't understand what you mean puzzletree about the separate stats thread (I'm very new to all of this)

Got my scan date through the post today- 3rd august yipee!!

Really pleased for you babycarmen! Enjoy your cheese xx

Also - how do you get other people's usernames in bold when you are writing about them?

Millie26 · 29/06/2011 13:27

Congrats babycarmen , so pleased for you what a tremendous relief! :)

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 29/06/2011 13:28

Well, there's a tiny 3mm person in there in the right place, with no evidence of bleeds. Best of all, there's a minute heart going like the clappers!

SmileSmileSmile

Not out the woods, but it's absolutely as good as we could hope for at this stage.

All the best for tomorrow, Innocent

Ready, put a star (*) on either side of someone's name when you type it and it'll go bold. If you look in Antenatal clubs, you'll find a thread called Feb 2012 - the stats, or summat like that. The thread was getting really difficult to read with all the long lists of everyone's due dates etc, so we started a separate thread just for that info.

LittleBoxes · 29/06/2011 13:32

Yaaay, Wicket!

mistressploppy · 29/06/2011 13:32

Oh, good news Wicket! Grin at 'tiny 3mm person'!

LittleBoxes · 29/06/2011 13:33

And we need a [fingers firmly crossed] emoticon, Innocent.

OddEyes · 29/06/2011 13:52

Good news wicket and baby!

Please can folk sign off with their 7+1 or whatever, can't keep flipping back to see folks EDDs. Be lovely to know how far folk along when they discussing scans and symptoms.

InnocentRedhead · 29/06/2011 13:53

Thank you, i am probably more anxious now i have spoken to them as they feel the need to give me a scan and as soon as tomorrow :/ no bleeding at all, but still worrying that they feel they need to see me. Hopefully be ok. Thanks for the fingers crossed etc. xx

bmm39 · 29/06/2011 14:04

I am due my first child on 24th Feb 2012. Can't wait!!!!

diedandgonetodevon · 29/06/2011 14:05

That's fab Wicket

Mistressploppy from what I remember last time, the MW gives you a piece of paper with a number to call when you get to 10 weeks to book the 12 wk scan so I just have to make sure I get my booking in appointment before then.

Maltesers88 · 29/06/2011 14:15

Great news babycarmen and welcome bmm39

I'm feeling quite good today - though still not a great lot of symptoms....
Started investigating private early scans last night just to get some reassurance that there is actually something in there but they're pretty pricey - can you get them for free?

I don't have my booking in appt til 7th July when I will be 7+4 so feeling a bit useless at the moment...

Please can we all put our weeks at the bottom of the posts? Be great to know who is at what stage so we can compare notes a bit easier!

I am sick as a dog!!!
managed a malted milk biscuit this morning before seeing it come back into the toilet, have ranted at DH to bleach scrub and sterilise the toilet after EVERY use as i cannot be subjected to the smell of his urine even though it may have been flushed away hours ago!!!! he just looked blank at me and asked if i wanted another malted milk LOL
had to tell some people at work as they wonder why i look pale shaky and vomiting! didnt want to tell anyone just yet :0( but i am a nurse and cannot fob them off with lame excuses LOL
this is my second child DD is 3 now but i too have been having cramps and pains a lot more this time round, its not constant but definately more noticeable, it has got me a bit worried, i have midwife appt next wednesday so see what they say

Hi guys, I've missed loads here! I need to read back a few pages and find out how you're all doing :)

I've updated myself on the stats thread, I'm further along than I thought I was date wise. So anxious for a scan, I only have mild nausea and cramps and sore boobs and concerned it's all in my head! maltesers I've also been considering a private scan just to feel a bit better :/

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 29/06/2011 14:55

I didn't get in from work till 10.40 last night and it's really hit me now. I am EXHAUSTED and DD won't have her nap. And she's decided she wants to wear big girl pants this afternoon. I am so not up for this today, I need to sleeeeeeep! I think now the adrenaline from earlier has gone I just flopping.

Great news wicket

Have started a new thread here as we are not going to be able to post on this one much longer, it's to big!! So when this one runs out, probably tonight! We will have a new home Grin

CoffeeOne · 29/06/2011 15:26

good job Bill!

Out of curiosity, is anyone dying of thirst? I just can't quench it. I've been waking up 3 times a night to down water and drink it all through the day. I've never heard anyone mention this before but it started right when this pregnancy did!

louby86 · 29/06/2011 15:26

Hi everyone! It's so nice to be hearing some good news on here about people's scans Grin

I'm off work today (again) with sickness, went to doctors this morning. He thinks i'm a bit dehydrated and was concerned about the headaches I've been having. BP a bit high but he said headaches were probably dehydration and has prescribed me Avomine to take for a week to see if it works. Has anyone taken this before???

Not sure if it's been said already, but to all of the newbies to this thread, you can add your stats to our Feb 2010 stats thread and also see when everyone else is due etc...

BillComptonstrousers · 29/06/2011 16:03

feb 2010? Baby brain kicking in Clarins Grin

Maltesers88 · 29/06/2011 16:32

I know what you mean coffeeone
My only symptoms at the mo are really sore boobs, tiny bit of nausea (but that might be in my head!) and the odd 1 second cramp but nothing major.

Any advice from anyone who has had an early scan before?! Am I being silly and paranoid? And can you only get these private??

LolaAnn · 29/06/2011 16:49

Lola wow...... a one year old and a newborn, go you!!! MY SIL had the same gap and managed absoluely fine. I think one of the biggest plusses about that age gap is the eldest one is never going to remember being the only child IYKWIM?

Welcome shipsladyg, you are going to have a similar age gap as me. I'm not freaking out about the birth but def about the newborn/toddler bit.

Crazybit where are you? sorry your OH is not thrilled..

InnocentRedhead I too am convinced it is twins. I concieved on my first ovulation after my last baby so chances are slightly higher. I want twins so bad, I'm hoping that if I convince myself its twins then it shall be.

I still have no MS but not 6 weeks yet, is it true that this is when it starts? I had none whatsoever with my son.

5+4 (is that all... so long to wait Wink)

bmm39 · 29/06/2011 16:51

Thanks clarinsgirl I will add my stats.

puzzletree · 29/06/2011 17:12

Maltesers I'm pretty sure you only get early scans on NHS if there is a medical reason, ie you've had problems before, or you're experiencing worrying symptoms. And some EPUs are easier to get early scans with than others. I have two friends who were bleeding at 8/9 weeks and were refused scans at our EPU, one went for a private scan, the other went to A&E and wouldn't be fobbed off! Luckily both pregnancies worked out ok. I'm pretty sure a private early scan would be less than £100, but you're best to wait as long as you can so you can be sure of seeing something. It is so hard to wait til 12 weeks isn't it. My symptoms are also very mild compared to my two previous pregnancies but I'm trying to stay positive...
CoffeeOne Yes very thirsty here too, I also always have a dry feel to my mouth with a slightly nasty taste so I think that makes it worse. It's good to drink plenty of water though, despite the increased toilet trips.
