Good evening lovely ladies,

Stinky I'm so very sorry, I wish you all the best in the future and I hope you take good care of yourself

Welcome ship and flowers

Has anyone else gone off food? I mean I can't imagine cooking food and food smells send me running for the bathroom (although nothing comes up) I think I'll be living off toast and oranges :(

Hope everyone is doing ok and you are not all too tired/sick/stressed/sore :)

Maltesers88 · 28/06/2011 22:38

I LOVE my green tea but have stopped drinking it completely as apartment it reduces the effectiveness of folic acid supplements Sad
So now am stuck with hot water or, if I'm feeling adventurous, a slice of lemon in hot water!

I haven't noticed a heightened sense of smell but then I have quite a good one normally. Swear at least 2 people farted on my journey home though - gross!

I too love Marmite but I might have to switch to something else in the mornings as it leaves such a strong taste in my mouth and I really don't need to keep on tasting my food at the moment!

Maltesers88 · 28/06/2011 22:39

Doh stupid predictive text! I meant apparently not apartment!

Purpletoes · 28/06/2011 22:43

Can I slip onto bus. Expecting dc1 after a mc in March. Had an early scan yesterday and saw heartbeat. Grin so feeling more positive now. It is a long bus will try to catch up.

Due date 09/02/2012

tumblebug · 28/06/2011 23:02

Hi, can I squeeze in too? DC2 due 25th February. Next year's a leap year, not sure whether a February 29th birthday would be good or bad? (What a strange thing to worry about... and unlikely to arise as DS was a few days early).

Had booking appointment today - seemed so early to make it 'official' - lots of paperwork, now I have to wait for my 12 week scan.

Crazybit · 28/06/2011 23:17

Welcome to the new passengers

To all those who asked (sorry, too hard to scroll for names on phone) it is my third dc but OHs first although he treats mine as his own. He thinks its bad timing as he's just got a new job, the rented house were in is too small and rent has quadrupled from my plaster house plus I'm meant to be finding a job or/and finishing my last year of uni/college. He isn't pushing me into anything, but am worried me and the baby will be resented and all end up unhappy. He's so rubbish at talking and I'm so tired I don't have the energy to fight my corner at the moment anyway. puzzletree-I'm in a small town just outside of Bristol. I make friends quite easily and have been to a playgroup with dd1 but definately won't be able to talk it through. May try and speak with mw.

LolaRennt · 29/06/2011 00:36

Sorry crazy you've got an ace up your sleeve though, I'm guessing he has never seen a scan yet? Wait till he sees the bean hopping round at your 12 week scan and he'll be a puddly widdle wreck :)

BillComptonstrousers · 29/06/2011 07:20

Good luck with your scan today carmen let us know how you get on x

LittleBoxes · 29/06/2011 08:48

I've woken up with quite bad cramps today and am feeling very pessimistic (and a bit tearful). No bleeding though, so not a lot I can do about it really. DH thinks I'm being silly but who knows. I think it's because I'm due to hit 6 weeks tomorrow and I had my miscarriage exactly on the 6 week mark - it's put the willies up me. If I get past tomorrow I'll probably feel a bit more relaxed.

The sense of smell thing - I keep thinking I can smell stale wee around the house. You know, that smell you get up back alleys. Every room I go into I think 'has someone weed in here?'. Though clearly they haven't. Weird.

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 29/06/2011 09:24

Saw my lovely GP this morning. She's referring me on EPU for an early scan. Just waiting for the phone to ring.

Flower82 · 29/06/2011 09:25

Littleboxes try not to worry, totally understandable but not necessarily cause for concern. Did you do too much yesterday? Thats what seems to bring my cramps on. Re the wee thing: I thought it was just my house! Keep accusing ds1 of seeing on the floor when he hasn't! Weird.

Flower82 · 29/06/2011 09:26

Weeing not seeing. Silly phone Smile

ReadyforRound2 · 29/06/2011 09:55

Hi everyone, i've just caught up on the last week of chat - do people think we should maybe spliit into 2 groups (like due 1st half of feb and due 2nd half of feb or something similar)? as its getting to be such a mission to catch up if you miss a few days on here. Also someone who is 3 weeks ahead in pregnancy is usually experiencing very different things - what do you all think? It'll be sad to split off though....

I am really surprised by those of you who have had girls already saying you had absolutely no symptoms in your pregnancies. I always thought you were sicker if you were having a girl. I guess this proves me wrong...

I'm getting quite particular about what I fancy eating and drinking now. I'm often craving ice-cold fizzy drinks such as sprite, but before this, I NEVER, EVER drank fizzy drinks ( apart from maybe tonic with my vodka or gin heehee!).

I found some ginger-flavoured cereal bars in waitrose and they're pretty good as they have lots of real ginger in them and they are sweet. Also the twinnings ginger and lemon tea is ok and quite refreshing.

I'm getting nervous now though, last time I started bleeding at 7weeks +3. and I'm 7+1 today. Luckily my midwife is coming for my booking-in appt tomorrow so that keeps my mind off it. They do it as a home visit here. Then after that I'll get sent a scan date.

Never been so excited and scared at the same time!!

Sorry for the essay!!!!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 29/06/2011 10:08

EPU just called and given the left sided discomfort I've been having, they're going to scan me today at 11.50 - ! Really, massively nervous now. It's the same midwife who I saw there when I was pregnant with DD and she was so lovely. Hoping for similar good news today...

miamama09 · 29/06/2011 10:30

good luck to everyone having scans! keep us posted on how you all get on.

on another note, is anyone having nose bleeds? I never get nose bleeds, not even in frist pg, but apparently it is normal...

babycarmen · 29/06/2011 11:04

SO i had my scan... I seen the heartbeat!! :D:D I actually started crying i was so happy and relieved. Just makes all this nausea and everything worthwhile :)

Kinda starting to crave cheese... Hmm.

Hope everyone else getting scans has good news. I get teary just thinking about mine!

BillComptonstrousers · 29/06/2011 11:45

Awww Carmen that is bloody ace news!!!over the moon for you I really am x I'm feeling all teary at work now!

diedandgonetodevon · 29/06/2011 11:52

babycarmen that is such good news Grin Hope you are having some celebratory cheese.

WicketKeeper fingers crossed your scan is going well right now.

InnocentRedhead · 29/06/2011 12:28

babycarmen that is fab news :) weight off your mind!!

Welcome to all the new people, i am surprised we are still getting you, but the more the merrier, more experiences to share and more advice to give and receive!!

wicket Hope your scan went well, it should do darling.

Well i called my midwife about the cramps and she was RUBBISH! Probably busy but i left her a message and she called back within 15 minutes. She said the crampy and stretchy feelings were normal but did nothing else to put my mind at ease. She said to contact the EPU to see if they want to take any further action, i have got their number and going to call them this afternoon. Just concerning because the cramps are fairly constant and not what i was expecting at all!! Wasn't like this last time! Don't know what to dooooo

bmm39 · 29/06/2011 12:48

I would like to join the February bus. My 1st baby is due Feb 24th 2012. xx

puzzletree · 29/06/2011 12:59

Morning all. Still feeling far too fine for my liking but hey ho, no proper signs anything is amiss so I know I should calm down and enjoy...

We are a busy bus but surely we should be able to manage like the other months, we're the shortest month after all! The separate stats thread should help a bit, and I'll probably not talk as much later on once I can talk to people in real life a bit more :)

babycarmen so pleased you had a good scan!!! hope all has gone well for wicketkeeper too and anyone else who is being seen today.

LittleBoxes · 29/06/2011 13:08

Brilliant news babycarmen, and welcome bmm39 (and anyone else who has joined since I last looked).

I wouldn't object to splitting into two groups but I agree with puzzletree ? I think we should be fine. I've just had a quick look at other antenatal threads and they seem to have just as many people on them as we have. I'd forgotten about Feb being the shortest month - I wonder how many leap year babies we're going to end up having?

Innocent, good luck with calling the EPU - hope all goes well.

The cramps I had this morning have subsided now so I'm feeling a bit less panicky. I'd forgotten about pregnancy feeling like a 9-month bout of bad PMT!

diedandgonetodevon · 29/06/2011 13:15

Made a bit of a tit of myself today. Ended up throwing up in the gutter on the way to the shop this afternoon Blush
The all day morning sickness is much worse this time around and I am actually throwing up instead of just feeling a bit green around the gills.
The crazyiest bit is that on the odd occassions I don't feel sick I wonder if I've imagined the whole thing.

I still haven't made a MW's appointment yet. Our surgery insists on doing their own pg test before they will book you an appointment and at the moment I can't be bothered to go down there to get the kit, take it back the next day, wait 48hrs for the result and then call to finally make an appointment.
Am only 7+5 so I'm figuring I've got another couple of weeks to procrastinate about it.

First time around I was so excited about my first MW visit but she turned out to be a massively unhelpful cowbag that I had to make a formal complaint about bit useless and although I know she is no longer attached to our surgery the memory does not make me want to rush headlong back into the system again.

mistressploppy · 29/06/2011 13:16

Hi everyone!

I know what you mean, puzzle, I feel worryingly fine too. But occasionally nauseous (yahoo!) so pleased about that, IYSWIM.

Great news, babycarmen, glad you can relax a bit now

InnocentRedhead · 29/06/2011 13:16

Called EPU and they seem concerned enough to bring me in for a scan tomorrow at 1.25pm, still have lots of PG symptoms but the cramps are seemingly getting too much :/ Fingers crossed it all goes well, and on the bright side I may find out tomorrow if my suspicion is right and that they are twins.

I hope to God everything is ok!
