melliebobs · 20/06/2011 07:48

did you make that appointment aj or did your gp referr? I saw my GP at the earliest opportunity, i work in healthcare so know what they are like over dealing with referrals to other services and how the next service can have it sat in their paperwork for a few weeks before they do anything with it! I just want an appointment now, not bothered how long off it is, so long as i have one n that i know im in the system & the ball is rolling!

aj71 · 20/06/2011 08:11

melliebobs I didn't know what to do! So went to my GP who told me to make an appointment on my way out with the midwife. So I did. They call this my 'booking in' appointment. Hoping to learn more about what the next steps are.

melliebobs · 20/06/2011 08:18

ah y gp said hed sort it out. i have been reading up on it over the weekend cos i'm going to have to take time out at work to go to them, luckily we stil get paid for the time we are at maternity appointments but there might be a few questions over the number of 'private appointments' i have in my outlook calander! Couldn't believe when i read that the booking in appointment can take anything between an hour to an hour and a half!

babycarmen · 20/06/2011 08:28

currybaby you can take your partner if you wish :) I cant remember when i heard DD1s heartbeat for the first time but i think it was about 12 weeks...

Feel really sick today and going along with my sister in law to her 12 week scan. 1 more week to wait til my 8 week :( Im so impatient! Dying to know everything is ok after the really bad cramping i had a few days ago :/

Oh and my boobs have started to hurt.. a LOT. :( 7 weeks tomorrow

Needle · 20/06/2011 08:41

Urgh. 5 weeks today and feeling very very heavy, like i'm about to come on. I vaguely remember this from last time round, so hopefully all is as it should be. My friend had her baby yesterday, 5 days late on fathers day- she's a total little cutie, and now i'm sooo jealous that i've got to wait 8 months to get this one out!

Hope everyone is feeling good after the weekend x

chocolatesparkle · 20/06/2011 08:48

Hi everyone,

Welcome to all the new people and i just want to say, thank you so much to everyone for your support. It means so much to me. I tried to come on here at the weekend, but kept getting too upset when i read your lovely comments!

I went to A&E yesterday because the bleeding was really heavy. I was told not to go to work today, and hopefully i will get a call to go in for a scan later today.

Bleeding has now slowed right down, so i have a tiny, tiny bit of hope, but trying to remain realisitic because i know that i lost a lot of blood and clots, so it's unlikely.

I'll let you know how i get on, and thank you again for your kind thoughts. Also want to send my thoughts and best wishes to Harriet i know exactly how she feels. xx

Needle · 20/06/2011 09:00

We're all thinking of you ChocolateSparkle, best of luck for today. X

aj71 · 20/06/2011 09:55

chocolatesparkle I really hope you get some good news today. You're in my thoughts.

MissRedIndie · 20/06/2011 10:21

Hi all, think I might be heading out of the running too...woke up in the night to find I was bleeding. It's not horrendously heavy, but heavy enough not to pass as spotting. Got a doctor's appointment in half an hour so will see what she says. Think I'm probably being naive to still have hope, but desperately clinging on to it anyway! I'll update you all when I know more.

chocolate, thinking of you today, hope you get your scan and some good news x

puzzletree · 20/06/2011 10:41

Oh no MissRedIndie, hope things go well at the doctors, and chocolate good luck with the scan. Really hope you both get a positive outcome. Thinking of you x

phlossie · 20/06/2011 11:37

Of course you're clinging to hope you too - and it does happen, I know a couple of people who have had bleeding and haven't lost their babies. I'll keep checking to see how you're doing, so let us know xx

I've told too many people. I can't keep my mouth shut. But nobody I wouldn't tell if something went wrong.

Congrats to all the new BFPs!

gonerogue · 20/06/2011 11:59

chocolate thinking of you

MissRed hope things go well at teh doctors too. My boss told me that hse had bleeding all throughout her pg with her DS - and he's now a happy, healthy 6 year old.

My DD is at her first session in creche now -we're picking her up in half an hour. SHe seems to love it we left her after about five mins and she was in the thick of it. Grin

InnocentRedhead · 20/06/2011 13:16

Bloody hell can't keep up with this thread, left it for 3 days and now im snowed under with new stuff and new people.

This is mine and DPs DC1, but my DC2. my first is an angel. I know whats coming but these first 4.5months are new because that was when i found out last time.

Symptoms so far, sicky as hell most of day, can't stop yawning during the day, but can't bloody sleep at night, needing a wee in middle of night and hating curries (which i normally love) Boobs have gone from 36c to a 36DD basically overnight which i can say i am bloody thrilled about!! (another symptom is my grammar has got terrible, why is that?? usually i am a pedant) Got my first midwife appt today, had my first doctors today - luckily dropped on a spare appt with midwife for my booking appt. AND i started my new job today haha!

Recognise a couple of names in here too. AnnieOnAMapleLeaf - HI and congrats :) and i haven't being on mumsnet for months properly!

Hows eveyone feeling at the moment? adding my stats too

Oh MissRed, fingers crossed Sad

Hi everyone, just had a call back from the midwife and I'm booked in to see her on 5th July, which is my wedding anniversary Smile

I think I might be starting to feel a bit nauseous, which is comforting as I've had NOTHING so far!

Bloody hell Innocent, new job and new pregnancy? It's all go with you eh? Grin

aj71 · 20/06/2011 13:49

My midwife appointment was something of nothing! The practice MW was sick so they had a trainee MW in who essentially referred me for a scan. Now go back on 4 July. Please can someone change my due date to 8 Feb? Can't do it from my mobile.

Merci, mistressp!

I felt majorly sick this morning after breakfast. Went back to bed. Erm, what am I going to do when I'm at work and feeling like this??! Eeeeek!!

chocolatesparkle · 20/06/2011 14:53

Hi,

Well I'm afraid that i am going to have to jump off the bus to make more room for everyone else. Went for my scan today and it showed that uterus is completely empty (i'm not suprised after bleeding so much.) After the last few rollercoaster days, i feel relieved in a way that it is all over, so that we can pick ourselves up, and start again. Lots of luck to everyone else on here, hope your pregnancies go well. I'll keep a close eye on the bus from the pavement!

InnocentRedhead · 20/06/2011 16:48

Oh Chocolate Sparkle I am so sorry to hear that xx

InnocentRedhead · 20/06/2011 16:58

MistressP Not only have I started a new job and found out I am pregnant, at the moment I am living in temporary accommodation (which I moved into 3 weeks ago) until the end of August, so new house as well as everything else! Really is all go, trying my best to stay relaxed as possible, and I hope it's working.

That's not all, there is everyday dramas too... Not having a moan, it is just my life... I am a carer of an elderly lady. I also have to deal daily with the BM of my DSD with mediation and court coming up too. And my new job is at McDonalds so I hope my stomach doesn't turn at the smell mmmmm :)

Had midwifery appointment today as well as my initial doctors. The booking went well and I am 5+2, had blood robbed off me (unsuccessfully in my left arm) and my tummy felt, sent away to book my first scan and 16 week midwife appointment, now have to decide between hospital or home. I'm here to answer any questions anyone my have about their booking appointment if you have not already had it

Right that is my life pretty much and now I have got that out the way I will shut up and talk to everyone else, feel like you know me inside and out already lol!!
Thinking of you MissRed and chocolate

Took me so long to write this to make sure it was grammatically correct Blush

gonerogue · 20/06/2011 17:19

Chocolatesparkle sorry to hear that - but wishing you the best of luck in the coming months.

Innocent I am amazed at what you have going on - it makes me feel guilty about complaining about my life. And sory but now I would love a mcchicken sandwich, DH will be sent out. Grin

I have booked my doctor's appointment for tomorrow. It's not going ot be much, he'll tell me to take folic acid, monitor alcohol and c affeine intake, and not to eat soft cheese or shellfish - check, check and check Grin At least it will get me on the waiting list for my scan.

6 + 3 today - only another 5 and a half weeks to go before we can tell people. Yay.

I am telling my girls on Friday week though, as we are meant to be going to my friend's house for wedding DVD watching and then a boozy night out. They are going to be so disappointed - all I've heard form them is "rogue, you haven't been drinking with us in ages - (pg and bf) " Ah well they'll be grand. Grin
