Scorps Excellent you're home. Pliz to share birth story in CRESH? Am amazed at your ability to type already - think I was still a mad, shell-shocked wtf have I done? at your stage. Mostly popping in to say google exaggerated latch and jack Newman - will really help with the owie nipples.

MadameBoo · 25/05/2011 22:29

Was someone I met at my pregnancy yoga Bitey. Think she ordered them off the net and did it herself!

Muser · 25/05/2011 22:53

SheShootsSheScoresABaybee WELCOME BACK!!! Over to CRESH for birth story pliz. And definitely look up that Jack Newman stuff. He's good.

MadameBoo · 25/05/2011 23:05

So glad you got home at last Scorps, can't wait for the details :)

CluckyKate · 25/05/2011 23:20

Yay Scorpelino - wondered how long you'd be able to stay away Grin. Birth story & nipple advice available over in the Spa....don't want to frighten the unafflicted.

Medee · 25/05/2011 23:55

Woohoo scorps, can't wait to read north story.

Ps we need a new thread, I reckon Laurie should do the honours.

Medee · 25/05/2011 23:56

North should be birth!

macaroonmum · 26/05/2011 07:35

I agree... top o' the list responsibility loz Wink

Macaroonmum, only my arse is blooming, due Aug 6th.

AlpinePony · 26/05/2011 07:54

laurie oooh Thayers, nice. Unusual. What about "rumnraisin", "triplechockchunk"?

LadyGoneGaga · 26/05/2011 08:35

Welcome back home, Score and MrT. Looking forward to hearing all the gory details.

Cosmosis · 26/05/2011 08:56

scorps if hurting, use little finger to unlatch and relatch till ok, it?s really important to get it right or your nips will suffer. Make sure baybee all in a straight line across you and don?t hold his head it?ll make him pull back, we were taught to hold at the collar of the babygro. Nose to nipple and wait till his mouth is really wide then bring him on really quickly.

Also smearing a little bm over them will help heal, and don?t let them dry out.

Ivegotmrbitey · 26/05/2011 09:52

Sccccccccccooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeee Congratulations! Welcome home and hope the sage advice above helps your nips. They look fine from here Wink

Thayers used to have real shards of murray mint in their mint choc chop ice cream Hmmmm what abut Murray for a boy?

CurlyCasper · 26/05/2011 09:57

A fine, Scottish name bitey!

welcome back scorps! You sound totally loved up, and rightly so. Please to share some more pictures of the gorgeous MrT? And bring your story over to the CRESH.

Ginfox · 26/05/2011 10:30

Yay Scorps! Glad you're home and ok. Hope you get BF sorted too - the Jack Newman website looks most useful for future reference.

laurielou, how are you today? Still chilled and zen-like?

LadyGoneGaga · 26/05/2011 10:47

The KellyMom website here has loads of useful advice and help as well, Score. And you've had some good advice here - if any pain aprt from initial let down then check and recheck latch.

I think I may be over thinking this but I am worried I have forgotten how to BF a newborn (despite feeding MiniG for 2.5 years! Toddlers get your boobs out themselves and latch themselves on Grin). Reading everything about proper latch etc has reminded me of the tough early days. Hopefully is like riding a bike, yes?

While we're on the subject, does anyone know how to make 3 year olds sleep through the night without doing the crying thing? He still insists I go and sleep in his bed with him. Slightly concerned now am going to be getting up with both newborn and 3 year old.

MadameBoo · 26/05/2011 12:14

If it gives you hope LadyG miniboo started sleeping all night after he hit 3 - it was like someone hit a switch. However I have heard very good things about Groclocks and was on the verge of buying one when all of a sudden it wasn't a problem anymore: www.amazon.co.uk/GroCompany-HJ008-Gro-Clock-Sleep-Trainer/dp/B002APJCNE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1306408417&sr=8-1

LadyGoneGaga · 26/05/2011 12:31

Thanks Boo. Will have a look into it. The prob is getting him to be happy in his own bed on his own. He doesn't even want to come into my comfy big bed. I have to go and get into his single bed Sad

MadameBoo · 26/05/2011 12:34

Can you fit a double bed in his room and set up a 'family bed' type situation? (just a thought, I know it's not for everyone but I know we tend to do things similarly).

LadyGoneGaga · 26/05/2011 13:07

I can't really fit a double in his room and have space for any toys. I am fairly aware that the new baby will most likely end up co-sleeping - maybe when we've moved to the new house we will have to not set our king size up but put the mattress on the floor with a single mattress next to it and do some massive family bed arrangement. Not sure how MrG will react to that idea! But life with a newborn is about survival I think.

LadyGoneGaga · 26/05/2011 14:10

Where is everyone today? Where is Lozza?

We need a new fred!

Ginfox · 26/05/2011 18:05

Hello? Anyone there?

Has secret new thread started without me?

owlbooty · 26/05/2011 19:18

I am here! I don't know where the new fred is though.

Medee · 26/05/2011 19:39

it doesn't look like there is one.

LadyGoneGaga · 26/05/2011 20:03

OK, new fred here Sorry haven't got updates from anyone but we ran out of space!
