Hope they accept your higher offer. gagsy Think on reflection the easy option is wise under the circumstances.

I am not sure abou the nap, (went back to sleep for an our after last post) I need a lie down as we just Rug Munchered Doctored the nursery, landing and stairs carpets. Bloody knackered now and TB did most of it. Whether I will sleep is another matter. Spare room and Bedroom to do tomorrow :S

I do have another rhubarb and custard slice to look forward to though. :o

owlbooty · 16/04/2011 16:46

You haf rhubarb and custard slice? Where is my rhubarb and custard slice??

Please tell me you get them from a chain bakers rather than some little local boutique bakery I can never hope to get my cake-widened arse to. I need to sample one of these things.

GG I'm all for the lazy option. I've done my share of doing uppering including fitting a kitchen once (NEVER again). It now sends shudders down my spine when I see properties advertised as 'ripe for renovation'. Bugger that!

rocketleaf · 16/04/2011 16:53

'fraid it is as you fear, bootilicious only available within a 5 mile radius of my house and only in rhubarb season. hence why i am troughing as many as i can get my grubby paws on at the mo.

here, I saved you a bite

nap not achieved due to contents of nursery being piled on bed, think an early night will be in order (for a change Hmm)

LadyGoneGaga · 16/04/2011 18:46

I WANNA RHUBARB SLICE!!!! Right now. They sound frigging delish.

Touch wood on the house - otherwise back to the drawing board. I'd be moving at 34 weeks pregnant (approx) Hmm

owlbooty · 16/04/2011 20:40

Gaaahhhhhh Noooooooo rocket I bet they wouldn't survive the post either.

I picked more rhubarb today; got tonnes this year. Made a beeeeg crumble and had it with custard but it wasn't a rhubarb slice :(

In other news I too have totally overcooked it - gardening today. I will pay heavily tomorrow when I am stiff like a board and cannot get out of bed. But at least my tomatoes are snugly bedded into the greenhouse for this season.

rocketleaf · 17/04/2011 11:27

Ooh arnt you good. I am going to miss the plot this year. Some rhubarb would be lovely. I luff crumble.

We have just finished cleaning the carpets. The dirty water that cones out makes you realise how disgusting carpets actually are :-( Poor TB has been up since six am when I woke him up screaming from major calf muscle cramp then selfishly went back to sleep. Scared the shit out of both of us!

Sun is out I think it's hammock time.

LadyGoneGaga · 17/04/2011 13:59

Horrid nights sleep last night. Didn't sleep again after MiniG's 3 am wake up. Fretting about houses!

I hate cramp, Rocket. I had it bad when heavily pregnant with MiniG. Can remember thinking if I can't cope with cramp how will I cope with labour? To be honest I think labour hurts less actually although obv lasts longer.

Hope your aches and pains ok, Owlie. Get MrOwl to give you a nice massage. I reckon you've earned one.

Got a growth scan tomorrow, one of the few advantages of having a defective Thyroid. Wish us luck!

owlbooty · 17/04/2011 14:32

Ow, Rocket , ow - cramps are horrible. Hammock sounds ace though. I dread to think what would come out if we cleaned our carpets - they have been in the house since the previous occupant who was an old lady.

Mr Boots is more broken than I am; he seems to have gone into full-on nesting overdrive Grin Which is handy as the sum total of my nesting activity so far amounts to removing the mouldy jars of pickle from the fridge. He did actually feel Owlet kicking for the first time today - bang on 24 weeks. I'm still not sure if he was freaked out or excited about it. It must be really weird for blokes.

GG hope the scan is lovely tomorrow and the little 'un is waving at you - will give you something nice to think about instead of houses :)

rocketleaf · 17/04/2011 15:13

Hope the scan is lovely tomorrow and you get a better nights sleep lady Have to say the more I read the more I think our original pact to only have one child is a good idea (if rather selfish I suppose, poor mite)

funny booty TB has also broken himself, not content with cleaning the carpets and moving loads of stuff about he decided he need to clean the car and has borked his back doing the hoovering. I have packed him off to a hot bath and then he will be watching the footie so hopefully he won't injure himself again.

I have just finished making some little 'Mary Jane' booties that have blown my mind with their Squuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeeeness. I will post pics in a bit, they are ridiculously cute.

macaroonmum · 17/04/2011 15:52

I wish TIS would get the nesting instinct Envy.

Good luck for house and scan tomorrow Gaga - think the lazyarse option was definitely the better one - can you imagine having to do a place up with a littl'un and a newborn??!

foilage we don't have carpets but it's taking a lot of effort just to run the Swiffer round so I don't envy you. Can't wait to see the booties!

We've had a lovely day with mates and their little boy (not quite 2) out in the sunshine today. I had one of those 'it won't be like this for much longer' moments when TIS was off looking at insects with thechild and I was lazing on a blanket eating mini eggs and chatting to my mate. God, I am SO aware of taking advantage of those moments! First-timers, if there's any advice I can give you it's lap up every minute of not-having-to-do-anything moments. Luxuriate in them. Smile

rocketleaf · 17/04/2011 17:38

Booties are here Squueeeee, you can't really get the scale of them from the photo, they are only about 3 inches long

macca maybe he will get more nesty later on? TB has been a star really, he properly gets involved once he gets going. I think he might actually be weaning himself of video games a bit which I never saw happening ever. Shock

Muser · 17/04/2011 18:01

Oh rocket, they are gorge. Do you take orders?

owlbooty · 17/04/2011 18:06

SQUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEE. Rocket you are a bloody talented crafty person. That is all. Grin

Orchid12 · 17/04/2011 18:17

wah - they are too cute!!!!!! You are blooming ace rocketdog!

rocketleaf · 17/04/2011 18:18

Thanks both Blush I'd be happy to make some for Bobkate, muse they are really quick. Actually it would be a great favour if you could test run them and let me know any fit adjustments as I am not sure if they will be the right length/width and if the strap is in the right place.

If you are happy with green then I can bang them out quickly or pick you up a colour of your choice but that will take a bit longer. its a bit brighter than the picture with not as much a blue tinge (crappy iPhone camera)

Ivegotmrbitey · 17/04/2011 18:19

Good lord rocket they are the cutest thing in the world! Ditto the orders query!

I have banjaxed my back again valetting my car so I can ditch the bloody thing before something else goes wrong with it sell it and get a five door one. I want to shampoo my carpets but can't move the sofa. It must be a hormonal thing as I am usually a right scruffy bugger but the thought of a dirty carpet has tortured me today!

GG Have a lovely scan tomorrow Smile

cakes your GP sounds wonderful

boots glad OwlMonsieur has felt a kick, it has had a profound effect on the foot dragging husband who is jet washing the decking as we speak

Hello everyone else drama queen

Ivegotmrbitey · 17/04/2011 18:29

PS not a custard slice but I am going to have a go at making this tomorrow

AlpinePony · 17/04/2011 18:30

rocket They're fantastic! :) Did you know that our VAG is also on ravelry?

rocketleaf · 17/04/2011 18:37

Thanks pony I didn't know that, no. I don't suppose you know what her username is do you? (not VAG I imagine Wink)

Cake look AMAZE bitey you sound like you are having a similar day to TB :o You aren't really a bloke having a phantom pregnancy are you? No thats silly, he doesn't bake cakes.

AlpinePony · 17/04/2011 18:38

Oh gawd, I haven't a clue. I only use knitting needles to take out airline staff. :( muser would know.

Muser · 17/04/2011 18:55

Green would be perfect rocket, she has lots of green outfits. I would be honoured to trial them. Afraid I do not know about ravelry, I have given up pretending I can knit after the Cardigan disaster.

LadyGoneGaga · 17/04/2011 19:43

I cleaned car today too, Bitey. Well, mucked it out and hoovered inside etc. And then stuck it through the car wash. Nesting becoming a little extreme. Am addicted to smell of bleach/cleaning products/toothpaste at the moment and found myself pondering jetwashing the wheelie bin. We won't even be in this house when the baby comes. Someone please stop me!!!

My big craving right now is crunchy, cold apples. Celery and carrots. Basically crunchy cold things. And chocolate. Does this signify girliness? With MiniG I craved pork pies and scotch eggs.

Rocket they are so delicious - you clever person. I'm rubbish at such things.

Owlie beware. We cleaned carpets in a rented house once. They were ancient and the carpet in the bathroom minged in particular. Once it got wet the bathroom stank of men's urinals for weeks . Was horrible - would be tempted to let sleeping carpets lie if they are that bad!

Scorpette · 17/04/2011 21:36

I would've posted earlier but have only just come round from fainting at Teh Q00tness of Rcoket's a-mazing baby shoes! Jesus Christ, they are THE cutest things I've ever seen! I'll take a pair in navy with big red buttons - how much, pliz?

Then I fainted at Bitey's recipe. OM NOMNOMNOM!

We've had a busy weekend - last NCT class yesterday, which went v well, except for the annoying woman having a proper meltdown because the teacher was going through the details of c-sections and the stoopid one didn't want to hear anything unpleasant (I mean just stuff like 'it might sting when they remove the catheter'!) and ranted for 20 mins about keeping her mind 'clean and positive' Hmm and couldn't be made to STFU. Apart from her and her whiny arsehole DH - whom I had a blazing row with t'other week because he said epidurals were as dangerous as Thalidomide (WTF?) and I tried to explain how fucktarded this is (he also has a barbed wire tat on his bicep - 'nuff said) - I'll miss everyone. Reunion planned for Aug :)
Oooh, and we did parentcraft skillz too - seeing TYF change nappies then wind a toy doll and pop it in a baby wrap made me go all gooey inside!

Then today we've braved M&P and IKEA and got the car seat, baby rocker, little drawers you hang in your wardrobe for The Lad's couture items (yeah, right) and so on. I seem to have doubled in size in the last few weeks and feel like crying every time I see how fucking humungous I now am. Not the bump, that's lovely, but the rest of me. MEH.

GG, step away from the jet wash! Or come round here and do my gaffe for me Wink I'm getting v nesty now but can't do anything that can't be done standing or sitting, which means that I have to pester TYF to do everything - which I then feel guilty about with him working and already doing so much housework. Then the guilt makes me snappy, so I'm being a right cow! Poor bloke. Blush

Score not much, think the yarn is about £2.50 and buttons are, well, buttons :o Sorry you seem to be blowing up, I am sure you still look gorgeous. Not long now! :o How ridiculous of those people, I am all for positive thinking but its best to also be prepared for every eventuality IMO and knowledge is power etc. The part in the hippobirthing manual regarding alternative positive words for things (surge v contraction etc) did make me chuckle after the convo on here a few months ago.

bitey I will have to go to the shops to get navy yarn so speak up if you want a diff colour? Anyone else?

muse yours are done, any pref on button colour out of: orange, yellow, cerise, purple or blue. *one of these would look best imo. then pm me your addy either on here or t'otherplace.

Obviously, a massive spring cleaning/nesting convergence going on in the Deli today.

Muser · 17/04/2011 22:11

Oh wow, they are quick to do! Can I have cerise please? I shall FB my address. I'm giving out my address to all and sundry here. Please don't order pizzas to be delivered to my flat!

No, wait, I am hungry all the time. Scratch that. Grin
