Muser, do you still want that tonne of horse manure delivering and the subscription to Scientology Today? Wink

Rocket, am so chuffed you would actually make me some! The Lad will be the snazziest geezer in town (not actually hard, seeing as we live in Chav Central). I would love to make you something in return to say thank you :)

Hi
Most of you won't know me, but I was here many moons ago! Just popping in to say AM SO EXCITED to see all the updiffs, specially laurielou who was with me back in the day on the original thread!! Hooray!!!!! Hope you are all doing well. My DD is 13 months now, and I feel about 75. Tis wonderful though

rocketleaf · 18/04/2011 07:45

No pitchforks here. donttrythisathome You are the original FESH!! You won't know me as I only found the ESH last year but thank you anyway for the lovely message! Congratulations on your DD, not so much on the feeling 75

macaroonmum · 18/04/2011 08:05

I am feeling very ashamed at all the cleaning that's going on. I haven't really felt the need yet Rocket TIS (The Italian Stallion) is, as the name suggest, an Italian man. They don't have cleaning genes and I had to completely re-train him for years to get him to an acceptable level. He is however very good at moving heavy or random stuff I can't be arsed with
Those booties are amazing! Cute, Cute, cute. You should be in business with that kind of thing. If there's any left over after all the orders and you can be bothered, I bagsy a little boy-type pair. Pliz. Smile

macaroonmum · 18/04/2011 08:08

don'ttrythisathome What a lufferly thing to say!

laurielou · 18/04/2011 08:22

OMG Donttry hello!! Am vay honoured that you have stalked searched out this fred again & have wished me well. Took my time but got there eventually Grin. Can't believe MiniDon't is 13 months already....

donttrythisathome · 18/04/2011 10:27

Will be lurking with intent for the vicarious thrill!!

Medee · 18/04/2011 10:40

Welcome back Donttry

Those boottees are gorgeous! Do you need any other trial runs? Or can you tell us as soon as you are taking orders. Grin

Must go, there is a baby crying somewhere in this house, not sure who put her there.

Scorpette · 18/04/2011 10:55

Lovely to hear from you, Don'ttry :) Can't believe you've been a mum for over a year now! I remember you and others recruiting me to the BESH cause and now look where we all are! Keep lurking, we loves it Grin

Rocket, I think you've stumbled across your new Mummy Business Grin

Roonie, don't feel too bad - believe me, if you could see our flat you'd probably think 'I thought she said they'd cleaned it?' Blush Tiny flat too small for us plus baby, so is now hideously cluttered.

More stuff has arrived for The Lad today - Moby wrap (in navy), special bedside light (as recommended by Muser) and all sorts. We still haven't got a baby bath yet but TYF is sorting it. Is all getting very, very real!

OP posts:
owlbooty · 18/04/2011 11:14

Macaroo I haven't cleaned anything, fret not. Grin

Bites I have to make a cake tonight, tis traditional where I work to bring in cakes on various occasions. I might steal your recipe as it made me dribble all over my keyboard.

Mmm cake.

Medee · 18/04/2011 11:18

ooh, please tell me about bedside light - I currently am operating between a rather poor wattage output from the baby monitor (otherwise very good), or putting a light on.

Scorpette · 18/04/2011 11:54

This is it, Medee. Clever Muse for sourcing it :) Have been playing with it and it is v good.

We haven't got a baby monitor yet, as a) I can't imagine being able to let The Lad out of my sight for a while (only until he's 25*) and b) the flat is so small, we'll be able to hear him anywhere. Is this remiss of us?

*Not actually joking.

LadyGoneGaga · 18/04/2011 12:02

Back from hospital. MicroG was fine on the scan. Normal. So they won't scan be again, just want to check thyroid at 34 weeks and then they will refer me back to Midwife led. Huzzah! Checked the figs on the % website and has legs on 95%ile. Long legs!

Have put in second offer. Cross fingers for us. Only 5k below asking price. Surely they must accept now Hmm

I think I had some little low level lights for night feeds but don't think I have them anymore. I might see if we can fit a dimmer switch to the nursery for night feeds in new house. Def worth it I think. Hmmm, maybe we need one in our room also then. Or just 20 quid on some little lights!

Maroony don't worry. All my cleaning is ultimately pointless as won't even be here. It's just to satisfy my need to smell bleach.

Scorpette · 18/04/2011 12:19

Hurrah for long-legged MicroG! Bet you're v happy, GG It sounds like a good day, so let's hope they accept your 2nd offer (the tightwads Angry)! V glad for you it's back to MW-led, yippee!

Talking of long legs, TYF is tall and skinny with a thin head - am I therefore allowed to tell myself that The Lad will slip out like a ferret from a trouser leg?! Grin

Orchid12 · 18/04/2011 12:28

Of course Scorps Smile. I have the reverse - a big headed, pot-bellied DH - we've got no chance!

Good news on the scan Ladybird. I'd love to see squidge again - I still can't get my head round the fact there is a baby in there. Don't think I will really believe it until I get that first cuddle...

Talking of Moby wraps, I have been looking into them as I like the idea of a sling I can BF in whilst tending to the needs of mini O. I can remember spending hours on end feeding him, but I won't have the same luxury this time and need a hands free option. They seem quite expensive though? Scorps where did you get yours from?

Meds so glad to hear that EA is home and giving you a run for your money (in the nicest possible way - means all is well Smile).

Ivegotmrbitey · 18/04/2011 12:43

Yippee for leggy micro G gaga Hope you hear some good news about the house. When your current house is clean and you haven't moved into your new one you can come and do mine if you like?

sprocket I think the green ones are gorge but navy would also be vay vay cute. Also dead serious on how the how much please?

owlie I am also going to making cake tonight and bringing it in to work tomorrow. Hopefully everyone will turn up their noses at rhubarb nature of it and I can eat it all!

score that is exactly how the lad's arrival will be only less um ferrety and more snuffly Grin

The FDH and I are in the midst of a cold war after he accused me of not helping round the the house. This after I spent three hours dragging my broken back around the kitchen making a roast beef dinner with home made yorkies. Bah! Am very annoyed with him. Also he may have jet washed the decking but didn't at any point disappear with an "I'm off to buy you a birthday present" look on his face and I suspect he has forgotten Sad

Scorpette · 18/04/2011 12:49

Orchid - on the other hand, I have a huge comedy melon noggin, courtesy of my Dad's DNA (I'm not kidding; Dad can't buy a hat that fits him and I'm nearly as bad!), so who knows? Confused I got my Moby wrap from Amazon - @£35 but I had some Amazon vouchers burning a virtual hole in my virtual pocket, so I bought that, the light, some Spatone and a nursing cushion (which was half the price it is everywhere else, so bargain-tastic).

Quick question for the already-mums: how soon do we get the baby an activity mat or some little soft books? I realise am jumping the gun here, but am clueless about such matters. Typical middle-class overeducated older mum fretting about development, etc.! We have already got him a cute little baby bouncer, which makes us squee.

OP posts:
CurlyCasper · 18/04/2011 12:53

Just flying by to wave to donttry and say how much I love my Moby sling, even if I don't use it very often. I got mine from here

( scorps , are you 36 weeks now? Shock)

CurlyCasper · 18/04/2011 12:55

soft books can be waved in their faces and rattled about from early on. Harder book will just get chewed. We used baby gym/play mat in the early months, but it has hardly been touched since she was six months. She only ever liked the flashy lights and hanging toys. No interest in pretty ribbons, squeaky bits etc. HTH, must go and do some work.

Scorpette · 18/04/2011 12:57

A brutal regime of non-stop reminders is what is called for when your birthday is due, Bitey. Am lucky cos mine is right by Hallowe'en* and exactly 3 wks before TYF's, so even without my incessant reminders, he can't forget (I stop the nagging when I see tears in his eyes; I'm not a monster or anything). And PSHAW! about you not helping enough - you're helping by carrying his bloody child, surely that's enough?!

*Half term, so a childhood of everyone forgetting. The trauma is still fresh!

OP posts:
Scorpette · 18/04/2011 13:00

36 wks on Wednesday, Caspy, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!

OP posts:
CurlyCasper · 18/04/2011 13:01

eeeeeeeeeep indeed! Grin Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 18/04/2011 13:05

I loves my Moby wrap too, Ourkid - got mine from here. Was worth weight in gold though.

Score, we had a frame thing that you positioned over MiniG and he loved batting at it with his hands, then later pulling himself up on it. Prob liked looking at it from only two or three weeks old i reckon. Get just a few bits to begin with and expand out from there.

rocketleaf · 18/04/2011 13:21

Shock at FDH, how very dare he!! Cooking your baybee should be enough. (plus I have seen your garden)

I am a bit Blush at asking for money bitey I don't know what would be fair, materials cost is minimal so its more the time and postage (which will also be minimal for UK) I wonder if once you have received them you could just give me whatever you think they are worth/can afford via paypal? :S

I haff started a spread sheet of requests, so far I have score (navy/red), you (boy/navy or green), macca and medee in that order. if i have missed anyone then pls shout and also anyone already listed who has a colour pref or gender request. I really love this yarn that they are made in so I am going to buy a few different colours in the next week or so as I want to make some for RL friends and then will just see how I get on working my way through. Apols if i run out of steam (or time before DD!) or get bored but they are so quick I am hoping I can just bang them out when watching tv.

rocketleaf · 18/04/2011 13:22

orcs I got my kari-me (very similar to Moby) from ebay for about £25, its second hand and has a bit of sun fading but perfectly serviceable, they are about £45 brand new.
