Cross-post Kate - Thanks! I like the look of them a lot.

Muser · 19/04/2011 13:47

My issues with the Mei Tai probably are bad tying. I am looking forward to those videos!

These might suit you macaroon. I was looking at the reviews on the cream one and lots of comments about them being good in hot countries. www.calinbleu.com/products/%22NEW%22-Amethyst-gauze-wrap.html

StiffyByng · 19/04/2011 14:49

Happy Birthday, birthday girls! I hope you're deep in buttercream and lavish gifts.

Glad to see the lovely Calin Bleu winning the heart of others. I've been drooling over it for ages now.

scorps I met someone last week who'd gone deaf during pregnancy. Five weeks after birth it was gradually getting better. Pregnancy is such a gift in some ways, isn't it?

My legs have completely seized up today, to the extent that I failed to answer the phone sitting next to the sofa because I couldn't twist my body enough to get it in time. SPD really shouldn't affect the knees, surely?!

Muser · 19/04/2011 14:51

TBG has said he'll buy the Carin Bleu if I want one Stiffy. Why am I dithering still when I should just decide what colour I want?

StiffyByng · 19/04/2011 15:45

I have no idea why. I personally would be nervous of cream and tiny baby, but the other colours are lovely.

I have a horrible feeling, even before I have an actual baybee, that slings are going to become my new favourite expenditure.

Muser · 19/04/2011 15:53

I have ordered the cream! I thought it would be the coolest option. And if it gets hideously stained I can always dye it.

Scorpette · 19/04/2011 16:01

Thanks for deaf-diff advice, Hooters and the reassurance, ByngCrosby :) Doc said that the tension of the migraine sucked some ear wax too far into my ear canal and that's what the prob is. Just have to keep on with drops for now, Doc says. It's not scarred or damaged, apparently, just taking much longer than they thought to unblock (I bloody hope they're right), BAH. Still, I shall use it as an excuse to get TYF to do all the early meconium nappies, ie 'but I didn't hear him crying ' Wink

StyffyLittleFingers, my legs are now crap too. They've swollen up now and my knees are utterly hopeless (already had mild athritis in them), so you're not alone - I think it's the knees having to take the strain when the pelvis won't play ball. My bogling days may be over...

That carin bleu sling is lovely - defo get one, Muse. I too suspect slings are going to take over from shoes as my new accessory obsession Grin After playing with one at the NCT class, TYF is hooked too.

I made it to the local shop this avo (the glamour never stops, chez moi). Bloody shop assistant reached from behind the till to touch my bump before I could stop her. Luckily, her fingers barely grazed it before my withering death-stare made her think again Angry I was hoping to make it the whole way through without a stranger touching, harumph!

Cream should be fine for any dribbling/puking/milk spilling event. Barring a big yellow poonami. Then you're fucked!

Scorpette · 19/04/2011 16:05

X-post, Muse. You are a braver woman than I, getting cream (although it is lovely) Grin

OP posts:
Muser · 19/04/2011 16:08

The biggest risk with cream is me spilling my lunch down it!

StiffyByng · 19/04/2011 16:10

Well, the cream is a lovely colour, Muse. Can't argue with that. And veh tempting for the totally summery feeling. We're going to hot, hot, hot SW France in August. It wouldn't be remotely inappropriate to spend £40 on a sling for a fortnight, would it?

The corner shop, scorpio? I am ENVIOUS I tell you. Although this morning I did successfully bend down at the knees to pick up some cat food. I wouldn't be surprised if my BP is still recovering from the excitement. I had to watch the CDWM where the man has embalmed his mother this afternoon.

Scorpette · 19/04/2011 16:23

Oh, don't get too jealous, Byng - my parents were going to the local Tesco and popped round to see if I wanted to come too. My Mum had to push my trolley for me as well, as wizened old ladies hunchbacked over their zimmers 'sped' past me tutting at my slowness. Dignity at all times is my motto Hmm

I bloody love CDWM. Dave Lamb's voiceover is genius Grin I dunno if I've seen the Norman Bates one; I'm sure I'd remember it if I had!

PS Not remotely appropriate re: the sling. That's why I'd defo buy it!

OP posts:
StiffyByng · 19/04/2011 16:34

I seem to have bought the sling in cloud blue. Big Mama Sling had free delivery and the large size cost the same as the medium, so it would have been rude to ignore the offer.

My glider chair and footstool have arrived! Truly, I am almost a mother. I just have to fight the steps to sit in it.

Tesco sounds wonderful, scrop. Did you linger by the chiller cabinets?

owlbooty · 19/04/2011 16:44

This is the question tho' - poonami yellow/brown or babybarf cream?

Decisions decisions.

Muser · 19/04/2011 16:45

I got the medium. I'm worried I should have got the large. We shall see when it arrives. And good work on the shopping there.

owlbooty · 19/04/2011 17:00

Yes - Muesli can you pliz wrap Mr M in it with Bob and tell me if it fits round a bloke? I suspect the small one may be a bit snug.

StiffyByng · 19/04/2011 17:17

Why thank you. I am usually a poor and impetuous shopper.

The large size is for women size 16+ so I wasn't even thinking of MonsieurLeByng. If you are a skinny minny (size 8-10), you can get the small size for £10 less.

Scorpette · 19/04/2011 17:17

I want a glider chair and footstool! Envy

My nursing cushion arrived today. It is more garish than the pics suggested, but still half-price, so meh. Only the bath and a changing bag left to buy now. Everything we've got seems to be bright green or navy blue. Am getting a white changing bag becuz I likes to live on the edge, beyatches (okay, so it's wipe-down, etc.).

Stiffy, I think my gait is now so slow that I could be technically described as 'lingering' at all times when not sat down...

I would like to point out that if I was my mother, I would be giving birth to me TOMORROW. Shit a fucking brick!

OP posts:
StiffyByng · 19/04/2011 17:28

No changing bag here. I just can't decide if I want one. White is an excellent choice. I think you and I should have a race scorpette. Our front door bell rang this afternoon. In the time it took me to stand up, and head towards the door passing our back door, the scaffolder ringing the bell had given up, gone round the side of the house, vaulted over the back gate, and shimmied up the scaffolding. Distance from living room to back door is about 6m.

We got the glider at the Baby Show. It was a bargain. It's quite comfy for the legs actually. I might just sleep in it.

Medee · 19/04/2011 19:10

get the free changing bag from Boots - it's done the job for us on our single outing so far.

LadyGoneGaga · 19/04/2011 19:30

Yeah, that one has lasted me for almost three years, Meds! Although these days I just shove a change of pants and a couple of toys in my handbag.

Scorpette · 19/04/2011 19:58

What stuff for the baby do you put in there, GG? (HO HO)

rocketleaf · 19/04/2011 22:09

Sorry I have missed the birthday shens today. I did THINK Happy Birthday to you both and apparently its the thought that counts, so there. :P Hope you both had lovely days anyway.

Busy day today, cleaning, dump, swimming, lunch, park, nap hippobirthing. going to slack off a bit tomorrow so will catch up properly then but have to ask what the heck is a glider chair and footstool?

Muser · 19/04/2011 22:11

I have missed birthdays. Happy Birthdays!

Ok differs, I think you should all buy this outfit for your baybees. BayBEES. Geddit!

rocketleaf · 19/04/2011 22:35

Btw I visited the dump, I wasn't keeping you abreast of my movements Blush

Not sure about the bumble bee muse I'm mite leaning towards to freasian cow myself.
