Pam phew Grin - the t'internet is so rubbish for communicating sometimes that things can be taken the wrong way. Glad to see you are a sensible lady!! Smile I hope the MWs don't give you any hassle, I've always been very impressed with the ones I've met, sometimes a bit abrupt during routine appts but whenever its something more serious they are very attentive.

PamSco · 12/05/2011 11:20

TerrysNo2 Sensible yes, but nobody has ever accused me of being a lady Wink

MissyNorfolk · 12/05/2011 12:11

Well i am trying to declutter and tidy in order to clear some space in the middle room which will be the room we will eventually call the nursery, obv not going to decorate or anything just need to clean all of my rubbish out, there is so so much stuff in there. Have already decluttered a bag of rubbish and a bag of recycling and I have got rid of some rubbish jewellery and some socks, am watching the royale family whilst i go to make iut more exciting for me. Always maked me laugh!

PamSco · 12/05/2011 12:41

MissyN You go girl!!! Well done, I made progress on the clear out - I looked in, switched off the light and closed the door. Tomorrow is another day.

Staceroo · 12/05/2011 12:43

Aw MissyN the one were Denise gives birth and is up in the bathroom with her dad listening to her Charlotte Church tape always makes me cry! :(

Oh Ali I can't believe there's so many of us!

After saying yday about my mat leave being good, just had a look in a bit more detail... not quite as good as I though, but possibly manageable! I build up quite a lot of overtime in the year, so going to save all that till start of November, and use that all up first as time off in lieu, which will help a bit more!

Also know that the last 3 weeks, I will be working just around the corner from home, so will make it easier to work right up to week before due date!

I've been a bit emotional today! Had to fight back tears whilst talking to my DH (while sat in the office) on the phone because I found out I have to do 3 hours round trip every day next week! Probably worse cos I've been away this week, and miss dh a lot, but just got all worked up and angry/sad!

Oh well, not long till I have 2 weeks off! Yay! Bring on 28th May!

voodoomunkee · 12/05/2011 12:43

bumpand thanks! I also believe that everything happens for a reason, so not worrying too much! Was much the same with the other children but everything worked out fine in the end :)

Staceroo · 12/05/2011 12:44

oh, and forgot to add... having a panic because I just ate a ham and boiled egg sandwhich, and half way through realised it was cured ham! Which were not meant to have :(

H007 · 12/05/2011 13:42

Yey just got back from my scan and have a very naughty bean... He/she would not wake up and when sleeping was all curled up so no measurements could be taken. After a wee, a walk and a jump around bean woke up and rather than pose nicely decided to stand on his/her head it wad very funny. Measurements gad to be taken from head in the end and date of 19th November remains the same. Didn't really get a decent photo due to naughty bean but then OH spilt his drink on it anyway Grrrr haha not much damage thankfully!

On the way out I glanced into the waiting room and spotted a good friend of mine :) had a little chat and have same/similar dates!

All very real now!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 12/05/2011 13:59

staceroo cured ham is fine, assuming it's not 'finest spanish ham' or summat? Normal British cured ham is OK, it's more the salamis, parma hams and the like which are not cooked properly [drool] that are a no no. And even then, it's low risk.
Everything in perspective!

bumpandisaacsmum · 12/05/2011 14:56

Having another bad day both emotionally and with ms :(

Had to stop twice on my way to work due to ms then once I got to work all I wanted to do was cry... had loads of visits to do so 'smile' put on and got on with it. Yet whilst driving it took all my energy not to cry... so much easier when face-to-fadce with patients!!!

Whilst at work I missed a call from the MW. Apparently DP phoned them a little while ago and spoke to them worried re: my mood and whether the amount of times I am tearful is normal.... normally very sweet of him to be concerned but we had chatted about things and had agreed that things were ok but we would talk to MW next visit or I would see GP before if he was concerned. But no DP being DP went and spoke to MW without telling me!!!! I listened to MW message on phone... que tears.... she wants to chat to me as she is worried from what DP said to her that it could be ante-natal depression :(

So I try to return her call and no answer.... que more tears.... have left a message and am hoping she gets back to me before I have to collect DS from after school club.

MissyNorfolk · 12/05/2011 15:24

oh bump poor you hun, its nice that your OH cares so much lovely. I do hope you hear from the MW and that everything is ok. Big hugs

cep · 12/05/2011 15:54

bumpand sorry you're finiding things so difficult at the moment. It is nice that your dp worries about you, my dh would just whinge at me it wouldn't occur to him to speak to the mw.

chipmonkey · 12/05/2011 16:56

Could have sworn I posted 2 nights ago!
Littlemiss so sorry for your loss.

bumpand sorry you're having a hard time. Did the MW get through to you yet?

Strangely, ds3 want to call the baby Sam if it's a boy ( which no doubt it will be!) which is the name dh and I had decided on anyway. Ds3 and ds4 keep kissing the bump and saying hello to the baby which is so sweet!Smile

alicat10 · 12/05/2011 17:44

Bumpand I was really teary with my 1st including crying hysterically and inconsolably for about half an hour at work when my boss's boss asked me how we were getting on with our Procurement targets - poor man didn't know what to do! but didn't feel down the rest of the time - just odd outbursts of emotion. If you are generally feeling down most of the time then maybe it is ante-natal depression and if it is best get it diagnosed and treated as it's just a chemical imbalance x x

MissyNorfolk · 12/05/2011 18:00

been decluttering all day and think i might have over done it, now have a dull ache in my lower right side, it hurts :(, must be all the doing of stuff :( I hope I havent done any damage!

alicat10 · 12/05/2011 18:02

So just been looking at my mat leave terms - 6 weeks full pay, 20 weeks half pay then 13 weeks SMP which is great and am allowed up to 63 weeks off (11 before, 52 after) which works for me as I plan to go on mat leave at end of Aug as DS starts school and will only be doing half days so wS going to have to use loads of leave then anyway.

Tricky bit is that my mat pay will be based on my June and July payslips after deductions for various things like childcare vouchers - took the whole afternoon and numerous phone calls to 3 different teams to find out what it all means and what I need to cancel now to maximise mat pay - was a real nightmare and I'm an accountant used to doing these sorts of calculations - goodness knows how anyone who isn't copes!

MissyNorfolk · 12/05/2011 18:07

Mines quite simple alicat 6 weeks 90% pay and then on to SMP which isnt vastly different from my normal wages as I'm a teaching assistant. Am finishing work in July though because of the summer holidays :) which is my silver lining!

alicat10 · 12/05/2011 18:12

My friend who teaches and is due end Oct was saying she will work a couple of days in Sept so that her mat leave starts then even though she'll have been off for summer hols and then can go back for a week or 2 next July in order to get full pay for those summer hols and will consider going part-time in the Autumn after - does that work for you too?

MissyNorfolk · 12/05/2011 18:30

oooh not sure i just assumed i could start it at the beginning of the new term, really hoping i wont have to go in for the first day as its my 30th birthday!!!! :(

CollieandPup · 12/05/2011 18:42

Hi all,

wow very jealous of people decorating rooms. Think we'll find outthe flavour of little bean at 20wk scan so waiting till then.... Not that I want all pink and blue.

also very Envy of people with 20wk scan dates. I've still not had my nhs 12 (or 13+3) scan yet. Next weds.

I'm lucky enough to have great mat pay too. Get 6 weeks 90% then 6 months 1/2 pay, then 3 months smp. So hopefully I'll be taking a full 12 months. I really feel for those of you who can only have a few months.

Talk of being emotional is interesting. I've not been weepy but noticed I've been rather grumpy and snappy recently, getting all wound up about nothing. Thought the rage monster would have passed by now.

Enjoying the name talk. We're trying to pull up a lost but nothing grabs me yet. My nan died in feb so if we can match a name to jean I'd rely like to use that as babies miiddle name if it's a girl, and thomas as a middle name for a boy which was dh's grandads name.

alicat10 · 12/05/2011 18:51

How about Jennifer Jean?

MissyNorfolk · 12/05/2011 19:02

hey collie, didnt realise you were having a later scan than me, we must be about the same dates!! I've been rather snappy too, but then again nearly cried at gavin and stacey earlier!!!!

I too love the name talk , I love grace and lilly and jack and sebastian but really havent decided on anything!

sunshinehugs · 12/05/2011 19:08

Hey everyone!

12 week scan next Tuesday...its been the longest 7 weeks ever! HURRY UP!!! I haven't looked at my mat pay yet as have very nosey collegues and I won't be able to look till Tuesday when hopefully its all OK and I can tell the world!

Boobs are definately bigger this week (yes!) and am feeling like this pregnancy thing is actually OK and even feels quite natural after getting a bit stressed out by the whole thing ......is this the wonder of the 2nd trimester??? DP got a promotion today as well which is great timing.

Regarding names, we like Harry after DP's dad, my sister really really wanted Harry but was firmly vetoed by her DP as he's taught some little horror Harrys in his time! As it's DP's dad's name hopefully she wouldn't be too put out. Anyway it might be a girl!

bumpand hope you are feeling better soon and what a wonderfully caring DP you have.

MissyNorfolk · 12/05/2011 19:14

oooh congrats to your oh on hi promotion sunshine, oooh yet another with a scan next week so we have me monday, sunshine tues and collie weds. well good luck to us all I say.

CollieandPup · 12/05/2011 19:30

Congrats sunshine on your oh's promotion. Excellent news.

MissyN what's your edd. Mine is 20/11

Like jenniffer but not jenny... I'm on the fence about J-J too. missyn I love grace, and lily too. Dh has vetoed lily (without reason). I like sebestain!!

I did like Taylor Jean.... But worry it's a bit chavy??? Any views??? Don't hold back..!!
