*LittleMiss" lots of positive thoughts here for you. I think (and I know nothing!) it will have been just a little bit of break through bleeding, my mum got that with all her kids (4). Everytime I speak to her in a panic about a twinge she regales me with more worse normal conditions. Best of luck with the scan, take it easy.

Good luck to all with their scans this week.

LittleMissExcited24 · 08/05/2011 18:49

Thanks everyone. I knew I'd get lots of support on here. Just dreading going to the loo every time. Still no cramps and at least I can find out for sure tomorrow. Will be back on straight after the scan tomorrow and hopefully we can talk about exciting things again.

Knockedup that's very reassuring. I think it's amazing that you're having another baby at 50, your body must be in fantastic shape! And hopefully you'll have lots of help from your dd and ds!

Bluetink Have also let the housework slip. Unfortunately I live with 2 boys at the mo who are also less than tidy and we've just realised we've got moths! So we're going to have to go on moth attack next week. I'm on a contract at work so will only get Government mat pay which is something like £125 a week. Going to be tough, particularly not being able to earn my own money.

CazandBelle · 08/05/2011 21:16

littlemiss lots of positive thoughts for your scan tomorrow.

I've also had a bleed this week. Wed night into Thursday - bright red but quickly went brown and had stopped by about 9am thursday morning. No cramps here either and only there when I wiped. None since Thurs morn. Having a scan tomorrow morning as a precaution more than anything. I'm feeling surprisingly calm; I think because Belle did this to me at 13 weeks too, and then again at 14 and 15 weeks, and the couldn't figure out why I was bleeding. Scariest thing is I bled I was 13+1 when I bled Wednesday and my first bleed out of the three with Belle was at 13+1 too.

My biggest fear isn't that they'll tell me something is wrong tomorrow but more that this is an omen of it all going to go wrong again later on.

ImBrian · 08/05/2011 22:38

Hope scans go well for you little miss and caz, it seems to be very common with lots of ladies on here having them! got fx for you both x

bumpandisaacsmum · 08/05/2011 22:39

littlemiss & caz good luck with your scans tomorrow, hopefully the bleeding will be nothing to worry about (I bleed with pg1 every month but as a result didn't know I was pg until 24weeks!!)

littlemiss I would definitely go with the others & say take tomorrow off, work can manage without you!!

Hope anyone else with scans tomorrow also have good news x x

TerrysNo2 · 08/05/2011 22:43

Hello all, been away for a few days so not read everything but wanted to say good luck to littlemiss and caz for scans tomorrow and hope the bleeds are just that and your beans are fine and snug. xxx

Hope everyone else is well. 14+2 today and yesterday I got my doppler back from my friend and after quite a while searching we heard very clearly the clippety clop of Poppy's heartbeat!! Smile Relieved to say the least

goldmaple · 09/05/2011 01:57

littlemiss FX for your scan. Will be thinking of you tomorrow. I had brown spotting for 2-3 days (not as heavy as AF but did have the little bits in in) but then it just stopped.

caz really sorry to hear about your bleed, esp the unfortunate timing of it - and the fact that you will not rest easy for a while, even if the scan is fine. can only imagine how you feel and will be hoping/FX for you at the scan tomorrow.

Really :( Angry at the negative reactions people have gotten. Having a baby is such a beautiful miracle I don't know why anyone would be unhappy about it.

Still exhausted here, and sick. Hope it gets better soon.

On a happier note, went to the zoo today and bought the first thing for the baby:) (a little blanket) Felt great! Need to start making a list so I'm not just buying random cute things - need to save money (I'm a contractor so no Mat leave)

cep · 09/05/2011 08:27

fx for the scan today.

terrys what doppler do you have?

MissyNorfolk · 09/05/2011 08:48

Oh little miss, I can only echo what everyone else has said, Im sure it will be fine. I know it doesn't stop you worrying though but FX for you.

Good luck with your scan and good luck to missyR and Caz too.

Well I have been awake since around 2am this morning, feel absolutely rubbish, really sick tired and emotional, this sleep deprivation is starting to happen so frequently I am starting to really suffer, my emotions are all over the place and I have constant headaches. I have phoned in sick at work today and am going to the doctors at 1050. There is no way I can work with teenagers at school, one sarky comment and Im likely to burst into tears.

1 week until my scan! I wish it were sooner.

Sorry for the whinge, just feel like rubbish.

MissyNorfolk · 09/05/2011 10:22

My doppler just arrived, and it took a good ten minutes, but I found the heartbeat!!! It was quite faint, and I had to press quite hard, but definitely there, sounded like a little train!! Feel relieved, can relax a little now, although would be more relaxed if I had already been to the drs, hate going always get myself in a tizz!

TerrysNo2 · 09/05/2011 11:37

cep I bought mine when PG with DS 3 years ago from here I started out hiring it and then kept it as I wanted to keep hearing it!

smilingcl · 09/05/2011 12:06

Little Miss I hope there's good news for you today.

I have developed a stinking cold today, went into work anyway but then realised that my usual tactic of medicating myself up to the eyeballs is no longer allowed. I need drugs!! Just coz they haven't tested the bloody effects. There seems to have been no tests on anything on pregnant women, they just tell you not to do it, eat it, touch it etc... So I've come home to sit here all bunged up and moan at DP who is trying to revise for his exams :)

In good news, I did some online maternity shopping yesterday, whoo! Overspent slightly but figured I'll be spending the next year being tight. I bought 2 dresses from top shop, 1 long tunic/top thing, two pairs of leggings. I got a dress from ASOS too. Am a fan of dresses coz you only have to find shoes to go with them and these ones have no pinchy waist. When I'm finished with them I can always lend them back to the mums who're being so generous to me when they're preggers again.

Missy Norfolk, are you going to become a doppler addict? I'm not sure I'd be able to stop looking once I found it. I'd have it permanently strapped to me.

MissyNorfolk · 09/05/2011 12:22

I think I might be already smilingcl, it was all I could do to stop listening and that was only because I had to go to the doctors.

My appt was an hour late, but the doctor was lovely and signed me off for 2 weeks to rest and recoup, so I shall be spending a lot of my time sleeing!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 09/05/2011 13:32

littlemiss and Caz fingers crossed for today. Hope it's nothing.

Terrys how fab to hear the heartbeat!! I'd love a doppler but they seem so expensive. Oh so tempting though.

I'm feeling slightly better - nauseas is passing and tiredness not as bad but still worried as my clothes don't seem to be getting tighter. Boons still sore though and no cramps. Got a provate scan on Saturday, yay!

I reckon I'm 12+5, mw reckons 11+5, so we'll have a better idea on Saturday (my dating scan was done quite early).

We told MIL last weekend and she was shocked. She has DD 2 days a week atm, and she blurted out 'I'm too old to have this one you know' and then apologised for her bluntness.
I feel sorry for this one - we weren;t relying on MIL but it would have been lovely as DD and her have such a close bond. Looks like FT nursery for this one :(

And I have researched, cogitated and digested Grin and I am certain I want a home birth, despite being classed as high risk. I will not put up a fight - just keep repeating the mantra 'thanks for your advice but I intend to have a home birth'. Some challenging days ahead methinks!

CazandBelle · 09/05/2011 13:45

Hi everyone

scan was was lovely, Bow was very busy and active again. Using my womb as a wall to stretch again, kept arching his/her back, and pushing legs against the side right out straight as if it was about to go for a swim! Turning head side to side a lot too. Even the growth in two weeks is remarkable - face was much more rounded today rather than long like it was 2 weeks ago. It was quite emotional to watch again. Scan put me at 14+2 today rather than 13+6 but they obviously won't change my dates now. Not that is matters too much anyway because we'll be induced before 40 weeks regardless.

They were able to identify where the bleed came from, right on the edge of the placenta but nobody seemed to concerned and Bow is obviously doing ok at the moment anyway. They'll scan again if there is anymore fresh red, but have told me I may have a bit more brown/black over the next few days as it works itself out.

Next booked scan seems such a long way away. Trying to persuade DH to go for a gender one in between...

Hope you're doing ok littlemiss

Just read back up the thread a bit. I can't believe some of you are getting negative reactions to your news!

bumpandisaacsmum · 09/05/2011 15:05

Great to here bow is still active caz :)

Sorry you are feeling rubbish missyn take the 2 weeks off to rest & hopefully it will make you feel better. I had 4 weeks off due to feeling exactly the way you are, am back on half days at the mo & it has definitely helped having the time off from work commitements!!

Found out today that a colleague is also pg, only 2 weeks behind me :) will be great having someone in rl I can share this with :)

Have been feeling baby loads yesterday & today!! Whenever I sit diwn after being active baby it fluttering away :). Though ms has yet again been nasty today... So many times vomiting by car (not fussed but feel really embarrassed when in uniform!!)

Hope other scans today have had good news

cookie9 · 09/05/2011 15:07

Glad your scan went well CazandBelle. Fingers crossed for everyone else who is scanned today!

Truly fed up. Still no energy and having bouts of sickness and it is one of the busiest times at school. Could just sleep on my desk!

Hospital said two weeks for blood tests but hoping I gt a letter soon as still nervous.

Did get some maternity clothes - well not real maternity just pregnancy comfortable all from The White Stuff. Long t-shirt, tunic top and nice floaty white shirt.

Truffkin · 09/05/2011 15:24

Hi everyone, just popping in to say our scan went well on Saturday. All is well and the baby is measuring perfectly to my dates rather than to the dates based in my LMP which the GP insisted on using (yippee, knew all that charting was good for something!) Had a lovely but very hectic weekend visiting and making announcements and got home eventually at 10pm last night. I was definitely not keen on getting up for work this morning and will be in bed early tonight to catch up!

I have an appointment with the consultant tomorrow morning to have bloods done (to go with the nuchal measurement), to get my notes book and to check that she is happy with me continuing as MW-led. Am hoping she's fine and I can go back to planning my lovely MW unit water birth Grin

Sorry for not reading back over everything but have no brain energy to catch up on everyone's news! Will prmose to do so at some point this week x

busyboysmum · 09/05/2011 16:11

Hi everyone - really sorry to hear about those of you who have been experiencing bleeding, must be so scary. My SIL bled throughout her pregnancy and my gorgeous nephew is now 1.5 and the cutest little fella on two legs but I thought her so brave at the time as it was a very worrying pregnancy for her. My heart goes out to you.

I am also so saddened to hear of all the negative reactions people have been getting to their lovely news - what is wrong with these people? I have had a lot of people who have got to my stage (9 & 6 year olds) saying I am mad to go back to the baby years but I just smile and say I love babies, I love the whole shebang, and it is right for me.

I wanted to recommed to those who are having trouble sleeping at night a DVD that I have just found in our loft whilst having a clearout:

www.amazon.co.uk/Simple-Yoga-For-Pregnancy-DVD/dp/B00021Y8NW/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1304953559&sr=8-15

I did this through my two other pregnancies every night before bedtime and I did it last night before I went to bed and it is so relaxing and gentle that it is perfect for relaxation before bed. I slept like a log last night for the first time in ages and I am sure it is down to the yoga, I would recommend it for anyone the exercises are so simple.

Hope everyone is well Smile

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 09/05/2011 18:19

Afternoon all,

not much to report, just wanted to say hi, my main symptom at the moment is falling asleep after lunch and I mean properly asleep at my desk!!!

My Mum is not a naturally emotional person but her mother took the biscuit, apparently when she announced that she was pregnant with me, Granny asked her if it was a mistake!!!

Caring sharing family types us lot!!!

Glad for the good scans and hope the next bunch go well :)

MissyNorfolk · 09/05/2011 19:03

Evening, I was just on another forum and someone said being pregnant and poorly made them feel like waynetta slob, and I can completely sympathise! I have just woken up from a 2 hour sleep and feel like I could continue to sleep for a week, so not very with it! I am currently laying on my sofa having taken off my bra (it hurts!!) (I still have my dress on I hasten to add) drinking tea, eating a cupcake with my blankie laying over me which could really do with a wash, so, feel every bit the slob, oh and hair could probably do with washing too!

Have just had a thought, with all my time off. I now have more than enough time to sort the house out and list all of the things on amazon/ebay that I need do, could have really done with doing this last weekend with the free listing I know, but I'll just be glad to get it done!! Have 2 OU assignments to do this week, then friday I am free.

Think I may also (if feeling less tired and less back achey) pop into the city on the bus on friday, stopping for lots of tea stops to keep the tiredness at bay and then have a lovely look in john lewis at their baby stuff then to mothercare, not that i intend on buying anything you understand, just browsing! Is anyone else sad like me and love walking around somewhere like john lewis, I love all of their duvet covers, and stationery and kitchen stuff, just their things in general really. Hmmm so thats my friday planned that way my assignments will be done tue- thur and i can spent all saturday and sunday listing stuff on ebay, ready to buy some maternity clothes, i am reeeeeaaaallllyyy starting to show!!!

LittleMissExcited24 · 09/05/2011 19:14

Caz Really happy that your scan went well.

Sadly we found out that our baby died at 9 weeks. Still in shock, not helped by having to wait at the hospital for another 2.5 hours before they let us go home.

Thank you so, so much for all your well wishes and messages, they've really helped over the last days. Wishing you all lots of luck and will be popping back in November to check on the new arrivals, am going to miss you guys!

TerrysNo2 · 09/05/2011 19:42

Littlemiss so Sad for you and Angry at the hospital for making you wait. I hope you are being taken care of well by DH and your family now. Good luck with your next journey and hope you get a sticky bean very soon. xxx

bumpandisaacsmum · 09/05/2011 19:47

Really sorry to hear your sad news littlemiss hope you are getting support in rl & lots of rest x x

missyn make sure you rest as well durimg your time off :) I too am well known for browsing round places like john lewis, mamas& papas, mothercare, debenhams etc... & that was before I was pg!!! There are so many lovely things, have to be careful with £s though :( although have picked up a couple of bargains!!!

BuffyFan · 09/05/2011 19:47

Hi all, sorry for going awol. Been on holiday in darkest Shropshire with no wi fi and no mobile signal. I've scanned the last ten days of postings, but sorry if I don't respond to everybody's news. It's awful to hear bad news from some. Welcome newbies!

LittleMiss I'm so sorry! I think it's everybody's worst nightmare. FX for a sticky bean next time round.

LK so glad awful news turned into good news!!! My SIL has a theory which crudely breaks down to ?one out, one in?. She's lost somebody in her life every time a LO arrives. Strange but true and we can take some comfort from thinking maybe there's a plan of sorts.

Cep (sorry I know this was a while ago) my brother is half deaf in both ears (was pretty much from birth although not diagnosed for a while). He's had hearing aids all his life and it's never been a problem ? except for the time he decided to dive into a swimming pool with them in, and the time they fell out of his bag and got driven over by the school bus... Now a dad himself with two gorgeous children, so it shows that it doesn't need to be a terrible thing and he's certainly made sure it's had as little impact as possible on his life - not much help I know but hopefully a comfort.

Bluetinkerbell apparently both RSI and carpal tunnel (which I'm thinking can be related...) can be quite common - I've certainly been suffering from RSI and can sympathise. Sadly the only remedy for me has been a week's holiday and not typing / texting at all!

I have my dating scan tomorrow (in amongst the last of us I guess) and I am terrified. I guess it's irrational because I've no reason to think anything's wrong. Just can't wait to get it over and done with, either way. Any tips on not crying in front of people? That seems to be an real difficulty for me at the moment. Hormones / tiredness / worry all ganging up on me.
